I’ve had this keyboard for almost 3 years now and, although I’ve switched to other things (like Novelkeys boards and custom things), this is always the keyboard I like using the most. I just love the switches, even though I know a lot of people aren’t as keen on them for typing. I did swap the keycaps at one point to some new Razer PBT ones, because even though they’re good, I used them a LOT.
Not for enthusiasts but one of the best gaming keyboards I’ve ever used!
The keyboard works very well, very pleased with it. Nice and small, leaves me more mouse space on my desk. The software is a bit annoying but it functions at least.
Amazing keyboard with a great feel whilst typing. It is next to silent and the keys are very nice to type with, and they are very responsive.
The RGB is also great, it’s easy to change the colours and patterns of the rgb through the razer chroma software.
The wrist rest is a nice addition as well and can be easily removed as it isn’t connected to the keyboard itself.
I ordered this keyboard to replace an older razer keyboard I had which was about double the size of this keyboard. This fits perfectly in my setup, I have got much desk space to fit a bigger keyboard and this fits perfectly.
If you haven’t got much room for a keyboard then this is a fantastic purchase.
Another Great Keyboard from Razer
The keyboard quality is top notch from razer i know when i purchase from razer although they have a fairly steep price tag every product is generally very well produced.
The size of the keyboard takes some getting use being so compact however look very sleek
Quality wise is amazing, lighting is very good as always with razer lots of functions with synapse etc, while the switches feel a bit different from cherry mx it will definitely take a bit to get used to but, it was bought as a gift and it’s very sturdy and will last a while, very compact and quick functions work nicely, build quality and lighting is a 5/5 value for money is a bit pricey imo but otherwise very good keyboard.
A really nice keyboard that feels great to use and has a satisfying clicky keys. Requires Razer Synapse to always be open to use your custom lighting profiles which is a bit inconvenient if you don’t want extra software running in the background.
This one here is more silent than my other membranes too, very good experience I was just expecting the product to have a unpluggable wire like the Hunstman V2 Mini does but, that’s fine.
I did a ton of research before buying a new keyboard and every review from professionals brought me to this product. I got the tkl red switches.
Upgrading from the logitech g pro (I felt was pretty decent keyboard) this is a clear upgrade. I could’ve bought any keyboard on any list as my reasons to buy a keyboard were for work and gaming as I have been gaming over 20 years..
1. This keyboard is quality.. It is an amazing keyboard.
2. Colours are on point and visually just so appealing and any comments about the lighting, unfortunately some people review badly and try get free products and they mislead people. Although every name brand, any product can have technical issues too. Perhaps my camera will show you the true quality of this keyboard over others.
3. Dream to type on. Dream to game on. You’ll make mistakes if you have an older keyboard tho or you are not use to the speed of this keyboard as it is sensitive. It’s quality through and through.
4. Metal top and plastic underneath and the pbt keycaps are ridiculously good!! Premium.
5. This does not feel mushy, it feels smooth it’s a weird thing to explain how amazing it feels to type on.
6. Razer synapse is easy to use and really decent app. Anyone complaining about it probably has issues with their pc and not the app. Most people don’t know how to fix issues do they blame apps. Be careful where you get your reviews.
7. Anyone complaining about the wrist rest? It’s sturdy and will not budge. No it doesn’t have a magnet but at the same time it will not slide nor will your keyboard. Once again, complaints come from people who probably lune their desks, because there is no ways it will slip or slide (I was worried about this, because of a review on amazon from some mom probably trying to get a free product)
8. The gaming experience is smooth, it is very very responsive and fast. I do not see a game this wouldn’t go well with tbh with you.
9. The sound… the Space bar sounds perfect to me. It just sounds premium.. a true delight and super happy with this purchase.
I think only wootang is rated higher than this keyboard and I wouldn’t know how other keyboards feel etc, however for me it came down to the fact this keyboarf sounds amazing. It feels premium, because it is and very important to me are the keycaps. I had abs and they fade and do not look good. These keycaps are premium pbt. You cannot go wrong and I want to make it clear that any bad reviews this keyboard gets on amazon is probably a fetch to get it for free or the unlucky bunch that got a faulty item, but that’s why amazon reviews need to be thorough especially with something so pricey. This keyboard is a dream and I have reviewed about 30 products + and would recommend this keyboard above any other purchase.
I am not too sure I’d own a headset from my bad experience with razer headset years back, but their mouses are amazing and this keyboard is on a different level.
Compact, good quality keyboard, leaves plenty more room for mouse when gaming.
This is a great little keyboard, I had a ten keyless keyboard for years and after having an accident with it I decided to downsize again as I pretty much only use my pc for gaming. The huntsman mini is not perfect – if you’re fussy about the sound of the keyboard the rattles will annoy you but can be remedied if you’re willing to do a few simple mods. For me it’s fine, keys are responsive, lighting is bright enough without being distracting and easy to customise and the typing experience is good
Got this for my son for christmas for gaming and he loves it.
I’ve been through a fair selection of keyboards in the last few years due to genuinely enjoying different types of Keyboards.
This edition of Huntsman is fantastic, the Red switches feels great. Ergonomics also feel great, a nice amount of tilt with the legs fully extended under the keyboard.
The keyboard is quiet compared to some Red Switch Keyboards, the foam definitely does the job.
All in all, a lovely, spacious option for users looking to get rid of their Numpad whilst keeping a quality keyboard. I picked this up on discount but I would have paid more because this is now, my favorite option!
Great product but the rgb is at full and its not that brigh
Perfect keyboard for competitive gaming brightness it’s fine but the keys omg so sensitive love it best buy 100%
Order arrived on time and package was intact and intuitive. Keyboard comes pre-assembled and ready to use right out of the box. The keycaps are OEM profile and quite rough – brightness from RGB is limited (would recommend switching keycaps). The switches themselves are excellent, though a bit wobbly.
The keyboard is quite quiet and is very responsive with the razer optical switches. (I got the red version)
This is great for gaming, but actuations feel a little bit light and mushy for typing.
Would recommend if you are a avid gamer.
Loses stars because synapse software is not intuitive enough and stops the inbuilt RGB modes from working. Cortex that’s bundled with synapse needs admin rights and UAC nags when you’re staying safe and not using admin as your daily. Once software removed its OK but obviously has fewer features because of it.
package arrive on time but oddly in no amazon packaging just the keyboard box by itself,
now as this is a purple switch keyboard the keys feel clicky and tactile which makes the keys quite satisfying to press and material the keys are made out of also feel very smooth,
the build quality is really good with some really premium feeling plastic so doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy in the slightest,
now to customise the RGB lighting on the keyboard you’ll have to download the razer synapse software found on razers website, sometimes the software can be a bit buggy by not displaying what RGB effect you have applied but software works like 97% of the time,
so far the product and overall experience has been amazing, and i highly recommend this keyboard to any gamer/professional/KEYBOARD WARRIOR!
The Huntsman V2 comes with ugly flickering PWMed RGB lighting enabled by default. I’m using it on Linux, and it’s supported by OpenRazer, which can turn the RGB off. The indicator LEDs also have PWM flicker, but I don’t personally use them (I rebind scrolllock, and use “setxkbmap -option numpad:mac” with Xorg to force numlock on even with the indicator light turned off) so I won’t dock any stars for that.
I find the space bar rattles a little too much, and the sound it makes is a little uneven with the rest of the keys. The key caps are also a little uneven with the lighting, some letters, and dull patches, for example the enter key and the numeric keys.
Also the function keys aren’t fully lit, with no light emanating from the play/volume symbols etc which i find a little annoying, maybe it’s just me but at this price point I don’t think these should have been impossible challenges.
All things considered though the positives far out way the negatives, and this keyboard is my favourite thing at the moment for sure.
This keyboard is amazing, I have the chance to try it out first in the Razer store in London and I fall in love with the Huntsman Mini, both the red and purple switch. I saw a good deal for the linear switch on Amazon and I bite the bullet and ordered it.
Right out the box, the keyboard I received had some flaws. The WASD keys and the keys around it feels heavy and sticky. I was curious as what causes it since I don’t have problems with the right hand side of the keys. Upon inspection, I found out that there are some sticky lubricants or glue on the keyboard plate.
Without any mod, the keyboard was quite loud for a linear switch I would say. The stabilizer was rattling but it’s acceptable to me compared to the normal stabilizer? Quite weird I know. But some mods to the keyboard would take it to a next level. Much smoother and sounds amazing. There are a bunch of youtube videos on modding the keyboard, relatively easy to do.
I had it for a week now and I can say that I enjoy the keyboard with the mods. Worth the price I paid for it. 5 stars from me despite I had to clean this up before it is perfect to use. No big deal for me.
With this in mind, this keyboard is perfect as it’s tiny, lightweight and has a detachable USB c to a cable allowing me to throw it in my bad without having to leave things out of my packing to make space.
Not having the numpad and arrow keys is something that I personally don’t like as I use them often which is why I keep my blackwidow keyboard on my desk and only use this when I away from said desk.
Overall the razer huntsman mini is a great keyboard for travelling with (or I guess you could use it in your day to day setup provided you take the minimalist aesthetic over practical).
I also paid 70 for the American layout instead the usual 140 for the UK layout which made this choice a no brainer.
Brilliant clicky tactile purple opto-mechanical switches mean typing is satisfying and a joy; it makes me want to type more! I much much prefer these to linear switches where you can’t hear and feel the actuation point.
Solid construction. Wrist wrest is lovely quality and magnetic attachment much better than a plastic clip as is seen on other keyboards.
Before this keyboard I ordered the Asus ROG Strix Flare ii animate. This was a tremendous keyboard and the lighting was definitely better, but the Asus software is so terrible it’s hard for me to actually explain in this review. I would go as far as saying its the worst software I’ve ever used, and it means the keyboard was unusable. By contrast the Razer Synapse software is an absolute joy to use and makes using the keyboard really enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend this keyboard, especially if you enjoy a tactile switch.
First off, you notice how small this thing is, it’s tiny, there’s so much more space on my desk it’s ridiculous. The imprint is so small now that there’s plenty of space for mouse flicks while in game etc… It’s also going to be a lot easier to clean as well.
The red optical switches are superb, they’re silent and fast, they feel smooth in game and have a semi tactile feel. The TE I have has the purple switch which isn’t that loud but compared to this is blaring.
I thought I’d struggle without the F keys but I got used to using the function key pretty quickly. There’s plenty of extra functionality including media keys, brightness, the arrows and loads of others.
Overall I really like this keyboard, it’s now become my main using the TE as a back up
The cable – The stock cable is VERY sturdy, can’t fault it one bit, once it clicks in, you wouldn’t even realize it could be detached. This will likely not require a replacement cable anytime soon.
The keys – the keys also can not be faulted in my opinion (or can they). Razer weren’t lying about how they can really increase your timing when it comes to pressing the keys. From my personal experience, the response time is very good and I have even clicked the spacebar by accident by just simply moving my hand across the keyboard, it’s very easy to click these keys by accident I guess is what I’m trying to say…
Size – If you don’t have alot of room on your desk then this is definitely the right keyboard for you, it’s compact, sturdy and great for all the family! (Jokes aside, it’s very small and brilliant for saving space)
The lighting – okay, this isn’t too important but definitely worth noting, from my personal experience, Logitech lighting is better when it comes to keyboards, and this keyboard is no exception. Is the Razer huntsman mini’s lighting bad? No, not at all, it’s actually good, but past Logitech keyboard users could likely spot the difference when it comes to brightness and colour transition smoothness, but will this affect your gaming? Unless you live in a dark cave, I’d say no.
Software – Synapse is the lighting software and is pretty easy to manipulate, good pre set colour cycles for you to pick from and play around with, but for a large and innovative company like razer, I’d like to have seen them allow each individual key to be coloured differently for alot more colour options, but more importantly… uniqueness!
Cortex is another software provided by razer and I love it, it optimizes your games and closes background processes to boost your frames and overall performance. This software also allows you to select if you wish to play for competitive performance or visual quality and will then suggest the settings you should have set, all while conveniently telling you what frame rate you could expect to see after the changes. I use it everytime I launch a game.
My one problem – to many this will not be a problem, but to many other people that want a solid, none wiggly/ rattly space bar… (You know what I mean )… Unfortunately this spacebar does wiggle, shake and rattle like all others. Once again, for a company like razor, I want to see a space bar that doesn’t wiggle and is just STILL and SOLID for a PREMIUM feel as that is what we want.
Overall I’m rating this keyboard 5/5 as functionality is Key (pun intended), but I definitely would like to see the changes I noted such as lighting and complete key solidity implimented.
I hope this was enough to give you your final decision to buy or look elsewhere (maybe Logitech perhaps if you want brighter and more fluid lights).
Thankyou Ladies and Gents.
The keyboard doesn’t come with a wrist-rest that it really needs in my opinion, luckily the Glorious Gaming GSW-75 COMPACT SLIM KEYBOARD WRIST REST suits and fits this keyboard perfectly.
If you want the best touch-typing keyboard, then the Razer Ornata V2 is the best there is. (I can sustain 120 WPM and can only do it on the Ornata).
Overall though, Razer Synaps (version 2 and 3) are really really unrealisable, badly designed and their USB drivers will regularly blue screen your windows machine. So yea, while the keyboard is great, the software greatly lets it down, I’d still recommend the keyboard because no other brand comes close, but yea, it’s annoying using unreliable software, and Razer’s tech-support is next to useless. They always just tell you to reinstall their software every time, then ignore you, they refuse to acknowledge any bugs what-so-eve. For example, the Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition is completely technically faulty – all the keys get double-strikes, so they just dumped them on the market and then ignored any complaints.
First impression, It’s small and really good built quality, It has some weight due to the amount of tech inside and the material used.
For Gaming, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m a casual gamer but do play hours on end and I have to admit that it’s fast and accurate keypresses. the clickiness makes gaming experience better in a physiological way, doesn’t improve gaming but it’s choir for your ears.
The Function keys are still there hidden along the number keys, the dedicated FN keys disables the number keys and unlocks your F keys. when you press FN, it will disable the RBG lighting and turn the other keys white which basically means you can use the arrow keys and F keys and other keys like Del, Print Screen, Media controls and Volume but unfortunately that you need to keep it pressed down if you use it all the time but I’m sure there is a way to make it stick by using the Synapse software.
I adore this product and has made so much room on my table that I can put more stuff on the table.
Let’s talk about those switches… It’s a Purple Opto-mechanical keyboard switch with an actuation at 1.5 mm with 45 grams of force for actuation but it’s an optical switch so it’s a lot faster and durable than a traditional mechanical switch as it has a durability of up to 100million keystrokes for each key and it’s actuated by a light beam that has 0ms denounce delay so it’s extremely fast! Overall the switches sound amazing for me it has a little bit of a pinging noise but it does not affect be in game and it isn’t that loud and disturbing up to where I know from the one that I got.
Overall this keyboard is a great keyboard to the touch and I highly recommend this keyboard for anybody and it’s a lot cheaper than what is really is in Razer’s actual website and store. Hope you enjoyed the review and have a good day/evening/night 🙂
