Love it. It looks good, led’s are nice and bright but can customise it in the app anyway, could be too loud for some people but I like keyboards loud. Really good quality. Would highly recommend.
Really good keyboard, my son is really impressed. Very small, giving lots of desk space
Nice , quiet and versatile has all the options you need from a gaming keyboard plus good RGB setting, has a good magnetic wrist support cushion, good size and easy to clean, had a more expensive keyboard but wasn’t as pleased as this one
This is a great little keyboard, I had a ten keyless keyboard for years and after having an accident with it I decided to downsize again as I pretty much only use my pc for gaming. The huntsman mini is not perfect – if you’re fussy about the sound of the keyboard the rattles will annoy you but can be remedied if you’re willing to do a few simple mods. For me it’s fine, keys are responsive, lighting is bright enough without being distracting and easy to customise and the typing experience is good
I’ve been through a fair selection of keyboards in the last few years due to genuinely enjoying different types of Keyboards.
This edition of Huntsman is fantastic, the Red switches feels great. Ergonomics also feel great, a nice amount of tilt with the legs fully extended under the keyboard.
The keyboard is quiet compared to some Red Switch Keyboards, the foam definitely does the job.
All in all, a lovely, spacious option for users looking to get rid of their Numpad whilst keeping a quality keyboard. I picked this up on discount but I would have paid more because this is now, my favorite option!
This keyboard looks and feels heavenly. It’s quite heavy and has a full grained metal plate (I thought it was plastic from the images, but it’s not). The PBT keycaps are textured and sturdy. The linear switches feel lovely and dampened which reduces typing noise considerably (though makes them feel somewhat heavier which I don’t mind). The stabilisers on large keys do not rattle and stay firm when pressing across the width of the key. Very happy from a keyboard lover.
Keyboard is nice to use, a little loud but feels nice.
Lighting is very good, the wrist rest is a little dim compared, but doesn’t bother me, I’m not looking at it.
Software like with all gaming devices is the only let down, ability to like profiles and lighting to games is fiddly and missing some features that have been brought up on forums for ages but not yet fixed.
Anologue feature is ok, not the game changer I thought it would be but works ok!
Order arrived on time and package was intact and intuitive. Keyboard comes pre-assembled and ready to use right out of the box. The keycaps are OEM profile and quite rough – brightness from RGB is limited (would recommend switching keycaps). The switches themselves are excellent, though a bit wobbly.
The keyboard is quite quiet and is very responsive with the razer optical switches. (I got the red version)
This is great for gaming, but actuations feel a little bit light and mushy for typing.
Would recommend if you are a avid gamer.
Coming from a cherry Mx RED switch this change felt good and I can safety say this keyboard is great.
Loses stars because synapse software is not intuitive enough and stops the inbuilt RGB modes from working. Cortex that’s bundled with synapse needs admin rights and UAC nags when you’re staying safe and not using admin as your daily. Once software removed its OK but obviously has fewer features because of it.
I have barely used the analog feature, there are so many things i could experiment with. But honestly, it’s more of a gimmick if you’re not very into it. I suggest buying a controller if you want more precise controls because it’s more of a chore to program the buttons to work a certain way.
As a keyboard, very good. Probably the best keyboard i have owned so far, but the most expensive keyboard i’ve purchased too.
holds up well, easy to clean, customizable and good for general use
I’ve been using this keyboard for over two months so far, and I’m very happy with it. I didn’t appreciate how good it was until I temporarily had to use a cheap rubber dome keyboard again. Not only was the rubber dome keyboard much less comfortable, I also found myself making more typing errors. The tactile feedback of the clicky Razer Huntsman V2 really makes a difference. I have also used a different mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches, and I didn’t like it as much. I personally recommend clicky switches if the noise isn’t a problem.
The Huntsman V2 comes with ugly flickering PWMed RGB lighting enabled by default. I’m using it on Linux, and it’s supported by OpenRazer, which can turn the RGB off. The indicator LEDs also have PWM flicker, but I don’t personally use them (I rebind scrolllock, and use “setxkbmap -option numpad:mac” with Xorg to force numlock on even with the indicator light turned off) so I won’t dock any stars for that.
it’s a great keyboard lots of customisation and quality feeling. The one thing that is left to admire is maybe some cable management slots on the board as you can get a bit tangled from the amount of cable that’s give
it is surprised to me that several ten proud keyboard quality is same as other cheaper one.
The “enter” key’s light is not even.
Or my expectation is too high.
Remark : other functions are work well, just outlook issue.
I love this keyboard, more then a person should love a keyboard I guess, but it’s not without it’s negatives.
I find the space bar rattles a little too much, and the sound it makes is a little uneven with the rest of the keys. The key caps are also a little uneven with the lighting, some letters, and dull patches, for example the enter key and the numeric keys.
Also the function keys aren’t fully lit, with no light emanating from the play/volume symbols etc which i find a little annoying, maybe it’s just me but at this price point I don’t think these should have been impossible challenges.
All things considered though the positives far out way the negatives, and this keyboard is my favourite thing at the moment for sure.
TLDR: My unit got some lubricants on the keys, but after cleaning it, it feels amazing again. Worth the price I paid. Keys feels smooth and fast. RGB is expected from Razer, nice and bright enough.
This keyboard is amazing, I have the chance to try it out first in the Razer store in London and I fall in love with the Huntsman Mini, both the red and purple switch. I saw a good deal for the linear switch on Amazon and I bite the bullet and ordered it.
Right out the box, the keyboard I received had some flaws. The WASD keys and the keys around it feels heavy and sticky. I was curious as what causes it since I don’t have problems with the right hand side of the keys. Upon inspection, I found out that there are some sticky lubricants or glue on the keyboard plate.
Without any mod, the keyboard was quite loud for a linear switch I would say. The stabilizer was rattling but it’s acceptable to me compared to the normal stabilizer? Quite weird I know. But some mods to the keyboard would take it to a next level. Much smoother and sounds amazing. There are a bunch of youtube videos on modding the keyboard, relatively easy to do.
I had it for a week now and I can say that I enjoy the keyboard with the mods. Worth the price I paid for it. 5 stars from me despite I had to clean this up before it is perfect to use. No big deal for me.
It is pretty damn beautiful, the rgb on this thing is one of the best out there. It’s linear switches are one of the fastest and they are damn quick. Really nice keyboard, especially on mercury
I purchased this keyboard as I travel often and take my laptop with me for games and work. As someone who’s left handed I rely on razer synapses feature to remap each key so that they are reversed allowing me to play games without having to remap any button, which is why using the keyboard on my laptop is a massive pain.
With this in mind, this keyboard is perfect as it’s tiny, lightweight and has a detachable USB c to a cable allowing me to throw it in my bad without having to leave things out of my packing to make space.
Not having the numpad and arrow keys is something that I personally don’t like as I use them often which is why I keep my blackwidow keyboard on my desk and only use this when I away from said desk.
Overall the razer huntsman mini is a great keyboard for travelling with (or I guess you could use it in your day to day setup provided you take the minimalist aesthetic over practical).
I also paid 70 for the American layout instead the usual 140 for the UK layout which made this choice a no brainer.
Typing on this keyboard feels really satisfying and fun. This keyboard is perfect for me because of how small it is and how silent it is. I don’t really have much space on my desk so I purchased this keyboard and it is the perfect size. It misses keys but does not loose any of its functionality which is really nice to use. I had the razer blackwidow ultimate before this keyboard and that keyboard had razer green switches which was really loud, clicky and annoying. Compared to that this keyboard is really quite and amazing. I can also tell that it’s response time is a lot bette
I tried a few keyboards (including ones much more expensive) before this one, and this is the best.
Brilliant clicky tactile purple opto-mechanical switches mean typing is satisfying and a joy; it makes me want to type more! I much much prefer these to linear switches where you can’t hear and feel the actuation point.
Solid construction. Wrist wrest is lovely quality and magnetic attachment much better than a plastic clip as is seen on other keyboards.
Before this keyboard I ordered the Asus ROG Strix Flare ii animate. This was a tremendous keyboard and the lighting was definitely better, but the Asus software is so terrible it’s hard for me to actually explain in this review. I would go as far as saying its the worst software I’ve ever used, and it means the keyboard was unusable. By contrast the Razer Synapse software is an absolute joy to use and makes using the keyboard really enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend this keyboard, especially if you enjoy a tactile switch.
My son, recently turned 13, demanded that I buy him this key board for his birthday/Christmas. Having no idea about the product or why it’s a gamers delight when it come to gaming I bought it for him. He was ecstatic when it arrived because of its compactness!! I have to be honest even I was impressed. He had been using it non stop and is extremely happy with it, I hear no complaints. My only grievance is the clicking and clacking noise it produces when he’s in full action. He seems to like that though and since buying a extra big mouse mat it’s helped to make the scraping noise across the desk a little more denser. All in all it’s a good little gaming keyboard.
Good build quality, the dial in the top right is a bit wobbly but it’s not a problem. the whole base is metal so feels great and the wrist rest is very comfortable. it has 3 angles, flat, enclined and one that’s in the middle gives you a good range to pick your preference. The only problem I would say is the price, its really expensive for a keyboard so I would recommend waiting for it to go on sale or for black Friday which is when I picked mine up.
Overall a really good item however we had to reconfigure the keyboard when it arrived the keys didn’t match up with what was appearing on the screen. Also have some problems occasionally with the lights sequencing but it just needs reset occasionally. So really good when it’s set up but with some issues we were luckily able to sort ourselves
Prior to this keyboard I was using the Razer Huntsman TE TKL and I love that, so once the 60% hit the market I was keen to try it; although at the time the price was too much for me. Anyway flash forward to now where the price has dropped to 65 so I thought I’d try it out.
First off, you notice how small this thing is, it’s tiny, there’s so much more space on my desk it’s ridiculous. The imprint is so small now that there’s plenty of space for mouse flicks while in game etc… It’s also going to be a lot easier to clean as well.
The red optical switches are superb, they’re silent and fast, they feel smooth in game and have a semi tactile feel. The TE I have has the purple switch which isn’t that loud but compared to this is blaring.
I thought I’d struggle without the F keys but I got used to using the function key pretty quickly. There’s plenty of extra functionality including media keys, brightness, the arrows and loads of others.
Overall I really like this keyboard, it’s now become my main using the TE as a back up
I loved every bit of this keyboard. my reasoning for this purchase was so simple, i just wanted a more quiet and smooth-feeling keyboard to replace my clanky crazy one.
As i said, everything about this keyboard is honestly the best (for me) but if there was ONE thing i would’ve asked to change, the spacebar is a TINY bit too loud for the matching of all the other keys but nonetheless, it’s phenomenal, i’m blown away.
From a keyboard addict :).
Smooth as butter, super quick 1.2 mm actuation (if I remember well), but even that a pleasure to type with it without typos.. (45gr switches optical).
PBT keycaps shinning to early, at least in my copy.
If you lube the switches a bit, add some foam underneath the PCB, some dielectric grease on stabilizers, wow.. this keyboard is pretty super silent and smoooooth… very….
Great for taking with you (lightweight) and decent gaming experience although for gaming I prefer more cherry/mechanical switches. is not a custom keyboard but it has earned a respectable space in my collection :).
This is by far one of the best keyboards hands down. Typing feels great, the cushioned rest is comfortable and overall just looks stunning. The typing does not have the same satisfying clicking feel and sound as the first model; however, it has a nice feel with it being softer and smoother. The sound in general is not clicky like most mechanical keyboards but more of a muted click. It is however much more sensitive than the first and other models, as it is pressure sensitive and has a lower activation weight requirement, which allows a joystick option in the razer synapse software option (limited games support)
For someone that literally never used any of the other keys anyway, this is a great addition, there’s more space on my desk, all of the keys are compact and neat, they feel absolutely amazing for typing, very responsive and surprisingly not very loud for mechanical keys. The keys you ‘miss out’ on become function macros which I like, it means essentially you have more key inputs within a more concentrated area. The build quality is premium, I like the detachable wire which makes packing it for journeys neater and probably lowers the risk of damaging the wire. The RGB lighting just like on any Razor product is spot on if you’re into that stuff. The software client is very helpful, very easy to use and navigate, has a tonne of features, offers so much customisation, one of the best reasons to go with a razor product. This is an amazing keyboard, I have nothing bad to say about it, 10/10.
Great keyboard for gaming. Switches are quiet, but the stabilizers on each key do cause a rattle with each keypress. Actuation point is high, so I sometimes get accidental keypresses. Look out for the ISO layout if you want to use this for typing as well as gaming, unless you’re happy to get used to the ANSI layout (enter key can be hit and miss if you’re used to the bigger two row ISO enter). Compared to other keyboards, this is a little worse value for money, but it’s good compared to the custom keyboard market!
I’m a touch typist as well as a gamer; the keys on this unit are up there in terms of touch typing, and defo top of the tree for gaming.
The keyboard doesn’t come with a wrist-rest that it really needs in my opinion, luckily the Glorious Gaming GSW-75 COMPACT SLIM KEYBOARD WRIST REST suits and fits this keyboard perfectly.
If you want the best touch-typing keyboard, then the Razer Ornata V2 is the best there is. (I can sustain 120 WPM and can only do it on the Ornata).
Overall though, Razer Synaps (version 2 and 3) are really really unrealisable, badly designed and their USB drivers will regularly blue screen your windows machine. So yea, while the keyboard is great, the software greatly lets it down, I’d still recommend the keyboard because no other brand comes close, but yea, it’s annoying using unreliable software, and Razer’s tech-support is next to useless. They always just tell you to reinstall their software every time, then ignore you, they refuse to acknowledge any bugs what-so-eve. For example, the Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition is completely technically faulty – all the keys get double-strikes, so they just dumped them on the market and then ignored any complaints.
I love this keyboard for gaming and typing i recommend it fully as I think it is the best keyboard in the world. I have used many other high end keyboards and this has been the most enjoyable one to use by far! I cannot give my opinion for other keyboards like the Ducky 1 two mini because I havent used it yet but from other reviews online the Ducky 1 two mini is no match for this keyboard. Also, I purchased a Steelseries Apex Series 7 for around 150 and it was worth the price tag but the Razer Huntsman Mini is cheaper and it is better in my personal opinion. If you are thinking about purchasing this keyboard for yourself or for someone else as a gift, I highly recommend doing it because this keyboard is perfect for gaming and even for typing.
This keyboard gets 5 stars for me!!
Had the Logitech G15 full length Keyboard with 16 G macro keys down the side for many years then decided to get a new keyboard. Decided to get this keyboard as it caught my attention as I quite like the small form factor and obviously the clickiness of the switch keys.
First impression, It’s small and really good built quality, It has some weight due to the amount of tech inside and the material used.
For Gaming, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m a casual gamer but do play hours on end and I have to admit that it’s fast and accurate keypresses. the clickiness makes gaming experience better in a physiological way, doesn’t improve gaming but it’s choir for your ears.
The Function keys are still there hidden along the number keys, the dedicated FN keys disables the number keys and unlocks your F keys. when you press FN, it will disable the RBG lighting and turn the other keys white which basically means you can use the arrow keys and F keys and other keys like Del, Print Screen, Media controls and Volume but unfortunately that you need to keep it pressed down if you use it all the time but I’m sure there is a way to make it stick by using the Synapse software.
I adore this product and has made so much room on my table that I can put more stuff on the table.
Where do I start, this keyboard is a 60 percent Razer keyboard with Double Shot PBT keycaps for a sturdy and durable gaming experience. They feel really nice whilst playing and are oil resistant so if your having a snack or something at your desk there will be no oil shining on the keycaps so it’s really durable. It comes with a detachable type C cable to type A USB and if you have your own type c cables that you’d prefer to use then you have that option but otherwise it comes with a nice and luxurious cable on stock.
Let’s talk about those switches… It’s a Purple Opto-mechanical keyboard switch with an actuation at 1.5 mm with 45 grams of force for actuation but it’s an optical switch so it’s a lot faster and durable than a traditional mechanical switch as it has a durability of up to 100million keystrokes for each key and it’s actuated by a light beam that has 0ms denounce delay so it’s extremely fast! Overall the switches sound amazing for me it has a little bit of a pinging noise but it does not affect be in game and it isn’t that loud and disturbing up to where I know from the one that I got.
Overall this keyboard is a great keyboard to the touch and I highly recommend this keyboard for anybody and it’s a lot cheaper than what is really is in Razer’s actual website and store. Hope you enjoyed the review and have a good day/evening/night 🙂
Solid keyboard from Razer. I don’t know how much the light switcher matter, I can’t really tell any difference. The keyboard is slightly less clicky, but not by much. The spacebar is the worse offender, it is very loud compared to the keys. I like the build quality and form factor better than the black widow. Laptop like media keys are accessible via Fn key, and get special lighting to guide you. RGB lighting is as you would expected from Razer, fully customizable effects via the software. As is with other Razer products, effects are not stored and controlled by the keyboard itself. It all done by the software, and you need it installed, otherwise you get boring 1 color changes. This is probably my biggest gripe with Razer products. I would like to see at least some simple effect customization is on keyboard only for when you don’t have the software.
Best keyboard I ever brought, upgraded from the hyper x alloy elite I didnt like the app it uses the mechanical keys were good tho, but this razer huntman TE is next level quality, feels great great to type even better for gaming so fast an feels an sounds great to press, lot of ppl not keen on the sound me an the other half really like it, it feels satisfying to press an hear and I’m an enthusiast and usually fairly picky but I can’t fault this keyboard, and the app is amazing, it looks very smart clean and expensive, the rgb doesn’t pop out the sides as the other keyboards cause pf the key caps which r the best I ever used, but its still pretty bright thru the letters itself, and the app is awesome very easy to use, it automatically went to the razer app installation when detecting the keyboard just by starting it up to Windows very clean fast crisp 100% winner for me an not to small but small enough for plenty of room for my mouse
Great that this keyboard comes with PBT keycaps as standard. Only complaints are that this is noisier than Cherry MX Reds, and International ISO layout is still not UK ISO. Easy fix but purchasing the Razer PBT keycaps aftermarket but that adds to the cost and you lose printouts for secondary keys. Apart from that the RGB is great, and actuation/response being similar to MX Speed switches is perfect for gaming. Benefit for me over MX Speed switches is that I felt the Cherry MX were too mushy and focused only on gaming as a result. This however feels more like MX Reds hence better for general typing and usage. Detachable USB-C keyboard is also convenient for travelling. This plus my wrist rest fits perfectly with my keyboard travel case alongside my Razer Viper Ultimate 😀
This keyboard is very minimalist in appearance with a very subtle Razer logo. Perfect if you don’t want huge logos in your face and just want something that works and does what you need.
One thing I found odd at first with the keyboard was the amount of travel required to actuated each key. This is extremely minimal and I often found I’d be jumping in apex without meaning to, simply because my thumb was resting (very gently) against the space bar and triggering it with the weight of my thumb. This is definitely not a deal breaker though as after a day or two I readjusting my hand placement slightly and alleviated the issue entirely.
I love the size as I no longer bash my mouse into my keyboard which used to be an issue before. It’s compact enough to not get in the way, but large enough to type effectively without any discomfort. I still find the keys slightly odd as I want to press them down fully but really they require minimal travel to actuate and they are very accurate at registering each key press at the lightest of touches.
The software has been flawless for me and I love how the LED’s match perfectly with the LED’s on my Razer Viper. This is something that is often not the case between different products and something that can so often be overlooked.
The detachable USB C cable is great, especially if you are transporting the keyboard as you don’t need to worry about the cable being damaged where it enters the keyboard frame. The body is super solid and the keys almost feel like they have a little antislip coating on them which I personally love and I think feels great under your fingers.
Overall I think it’s a fantastic keyboard for the money and hope it will gives me a few years of blissful use for gaming, writing essays and anything else my fingers need to type. Treat yourself 😉
I’ve had a few mechanical keyboards in the past but when my most recent decided to become a bit unresponsive i looked around for a while for a new keyboard. I eventually found the Huntsman TE and started to look at reviews. I’d always been a bit hesitant to go for Razer products as I had seen a few bad reviews in the past but everywhere I looked this keyboard was smashing reviews so I placed an order. I can definitely see why, The response and the feel of the keys is fantastic. Theres multiple heights to the adjust the keyboard to so you can feel comfortable during long sessions. I really enjoy the simple design its just the parts of the keyboard I need without any extra so its nice and compact which was a huge thing for me as well as I like a lot of space for my mouse on a slightly smaller desk. The build quality feels great to, the keys feel nice to touch and the frame feels heavy and good quality. I’m really enjoying this keyboard so far its definitely worth a try !
Just love the sound, have typed on those 300+ keyboards the one made by Taeka types and such and can say it does sound pretty okay compared, however, there is a noticeable difference. For games, this thing is just pure lighting. I have found that I am no longer bottoming out any more and just touch gaming if that makes sense. Lighting is bright and it feels really solid. One could say very premium-like.
Update: 03/11/2020
I have had the keyboard for around 6 months not, I have to say I am still very impressed with it, however, the only gripe I have is that the factory lubing they do on their switches wears off and the keys can become quite pingy. To fix this you need to lube them yourself, there is plenty of youtube videos on how to do this, and it’s very cheap as well. The result you get is a keyboard that sounds like those 300 – 400 euro ones.
