Superb idea of having different side pads. Good size, good weight, sketchy software, nice lights. Now, the scroll wheel feels like it was removed from some toy tractor. Stiff, noisy, bumpy ride. Hated it right away. Thought i will get to use it after a while, but on day two i felt my pointing finger literally numb from scrolling it. Was about to pack it and send back, but found a video on youtube with a little hack for this mouse. Video itself was about lubricating the wheel or whatever, but one of comments below advised to move metal spring holding the wheel away. Look for video “RAZER Naga Trinity Scroll Wheel Fix”, top comment from @WerNearWerty, he explains the hack. And now i have perfect mouse.

I cant understand why they can never get the side button configuration right, the six configuration is the only one of use but the layout is totally wrong. Why cant they just use a standard 4 pattern like what you find on a joypad, so your thumb can press the buttons in a natural way, so simple.

When I wanted to change from a wired Corsair Scimitar to a wireless mouse, I switched to the Razer Naga Pro because Corsair did not make a wireless 12-key mouse, and I’m happy I went for it. It’s lighter than the scimitar, and while the shape of the side buttons was different I adjusted quite quickly and the mouse now feels second nature.

The whole kit comes with three side panels – 2 button (FPS), 6 button (Battle Royale) and 12 button (MMO), and though I’ve only ever used the MMO panel, I do feel sad Razer ditched the ‘MOBA’ layout (5 arc-shaped buttons surrounding a round central one). They are interchangable through magnetic snap. After some time learning the workflow for profile and chroma RGB management it becomes natural.

For battery performance, using the 12-key side panel, 1000Hz (max) polling rate, lighting usually all white at 255-255-255 at 20% brightness (this is plenty bright!), on 2.4GHz connection, auto-sleep after 5 minutes idle, I generally need to recharge the mouse overnight after 2 days of rather heavy use, however, with razer’s charging dock it is convenient to charge it while cooking or taking a shower more frequently. When charging this way, its logo will flash a colour to indicate charge level.

Highly recommended if you are looking for a wireless mouse with side buttons – let alone a variety of side button options included in the package.

As a long time gamer I’ve always been sceptical of wireless mice, but having a soft spot in my heart for the razer naga hex.

Unfortunately the naga hex has always been less popular than its bigger brother (regular naga), however the option of changing is not only smart of razer to bring their overall costs down and capture both markets at the same time. But it also makes sure us naga hex lovers aren’t left without options.

To be honest I have rarely used the regular naga 12 key layout, it’s not really for me. However I do use both the 6 and 2 key layouts, 2 key for work and 6 key for gaming.

Speaking specifically of the 6 key layout I really like it. I honestly wasn’t that big of a fan of the layout on naga hex v2, especially compared to the first one but this one, while different is really good. They went back to a symmetrical layout which pleases the brain and eyes. They have also moved the keys from being around your thumb to being above. Some may not like this, but I think it’s better ergonomically and will suit a larger amount of people. You do have to reach a bit further for most keys, but they are also a lot more pronounced and clicker than previous versions which makes it easier.

I haven’t tested the Bluetooth but I use the wireless function 24/7. At least to the naked eye of a seasoned gamer it is completely unnoticeable that its not wired.

Battery life was a huge surprise to me, I was afraid of having to charge several times per day. But actually it lasts me 2 days of use during weekdays (8 hours work and 6ish gaming) and a whole weekend (8ish hours gaming 2 days in a row).

In conclusion, I had high hopes for a new replacement to my naga hex and this one delivered in all sections above my expectations.

yes the mouse is a little bit expensive but once you use it you’ll realise why.
As a PC gamer i wanted a mouse that was capable of responding fast but also had programmable buttons to make certain games easier. I originally looked at cheaper gaming mouses and wasn’t sure if going cheap was the way to go. In the end I went for a more expensive mouse and i’m really glad i did. Here are my reasons why.

Mouse is larger than expected.-
I have large hands and these days a lot of computer mice and gaming mice are getting smaller the help with weight, this mouse however was larger than i expected and a pleasant surprise. It also has an ergonomic to it which helps with my RSI. Its also worth noting that although its bigger than expected the mouse is still rather light weight.
customisation-
The level of customisation on this mouse is insane, not only do you get three different side pieces to use but the buttons themselves can be programmed to do some pretty impressive things from simply binding them the a Key, all the way up to using and opening programs. the RGB feature is also widely customisable and makes your set up look cool haha.
DPI and Reaction time-
For those who play faced paced games you’ll know that input lag from the mouse can be a huge factor and from button lag too. The lag on this mouse is as far as i can tell minuscule. You are also able to customise the speed of the buttons and the DPI down the smallest digit.
Overall-
On the whole this mouse does not disappoint. It does its job and more. I would recommend for any serious gamer and even programmers. You pay the price you get the quality.
