It was really easy to set up except i didn’t like having to put in my personal details having recently been a victim of fraud, but the sound and picture are better because it’s all screen so it stands out and it’s sharper,i’m not keen on the feet i’d prefer a stand or feet in the middle only because it doesn’t fit on the tv table.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up

Arrived really quick, easy to install and tune in, nice picture problem was after about a week it stopped responding to the remote control, it would only turn on with the mains switch and stay on the last channel. It worked again after a day and then went wrong again. The manual switch on the bottom was too tricky for the elderly person to use. Undaunted the first one has been returned and I bought another.

I wanted another Amazon Fire TV but this deal was cheaper. A bit fiddly getting the firestick remote to override the TV remote, but got there in the end. Very lightweight but has good picture quality and decent sound. Used in kids bedroom.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI purchased this TV for my elderly mother.
It’s at a price point that she could afford. It’s very easy to setup, use and control. The picture quality is very sharp. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI think I’ve been spoilt by my large LG which has a range of visual settings and modes and is ridiculously sharp.

I wanted something for the master bedroom but that I can also use for gaming.

I’ll be blunt, it lacks definition, the picture isn’t sharp or crisp and there’s no modes only light, standard or dark.
I have it on ‘darker’ setting and it still makes people look orange and blurred facial features in some shots… It’s a fantastic budget basic TV, easy to use, the sound isn’t awful for day time tv (I’ve not watched a film or music on it) and the remote works absolutely fine. Roku has always been reliable in my experience, but for me its a no and a return.

I just need something with a better picture. However again fabulous budget television.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat TV and super easy to set up. Attached to the stand I bought with no issues. Only having 3 HDMI ports isn’t the best but for this price I can’t complain, plus it has Roku built in so I don’t have to use my old Roku – that frees up a port right away! The only downside is that it doesn’t output 5.1 surround. However I am still giving it 5 starts as this was an oversight on my part.
Definitely worth the money. Hopefully it will last me a good few years.

5.0 out of 5 stars No 5.1 surround support. Still 5 stars!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersBought this as a replacement for our main TV as we fancied something larger, didn’t want to spend the earth and needed something on a budget. Has good connectivity, as we have successfully connected our router, a PS4, Wii, Sony 5.1 Surround Sound DVD (Optical Connection) & Sky Q Box without needing to change over cables.

Haven’t tested the WiFi as have connected it directly to our router as this is next to our TV system, but no issues streaming by connecting it this way.

Slightly limited viewing angles as screen looks a little washed out from the side, but that doesn’t affect us, as we look directly at the screen.

We are fans of the Roku OS, so it does what we expected, and has all the apps you’d expect i.e. Netflix, Disney, Amazon & Now TV etc…

We’ve had it for about a month now, and despite the occasional minor glitch, which I expect is down to relatively limited processing power, it works perfectly.

Sound is a little thin from the built in speakers and lacks bass for films and the like, but the sound is clear and loud enough for general viewing. With a sound bar or similar though, we have found no issues with the sound produced through our 5.1 surround sound system through the optical connection, it gives a good clear sound signal. We have connected this to the HDMI ARC port, so it switches on our connected sound system when we turn on the TV. This works great for us, as the TV remote controls the volume through ARC technology.

Done a little light gaming, and for us, it has worked absolutely fine.

Was a little nervous about this purchase, due to the price, which is the main reason for me writing this review, but as long as you don’t have unrealistic expectations for a TV at this price, we have found this to be an excellent TV, with a nice clear bright picture & good colours.

I can’t speak about the longevity of this product, but at the time of writing, very happy with this purchase.

It has extra stations you can sign in for.
Having a bit of trouble with the feet supports.
The angle of them is not the easy to use.

I bought this TV for my camper van, my original TV was too big, I’m really glad I bought this TV, its 40″ fitted my needs perfectly, super easy to set up and looks great.
The thing I like the best is its weight, its so light, making solo installation so easy.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGot as care home room TV for Mum she is over 80 and not good with tech. So basic nonsmart was what was called for too many of the SMART TV require internet or wifi connection this does not need any of that. TV is Easy to use and supports Freeview HD and you can reprogram ch List so channels list so her favorites are now on CH 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Supports HDMI and tv aerial connectors.
The remote control has big buttons easy to use for her.
Picture Quality OK for 80+ year old its no 4k Picture Quality but good on HD .
The sound output is not very loud but as said we only wanted it for her own room does the job in a small room fine for her use.

Good TV for a Bed Room

Good for the price very very lightweight so if you want to fix on wall there’s no need to worry about it staying. Good picture quality, sound is ok but not brilliant. The only negative I can see is the program guide is totally illogical, every tv I’ve had previously all channel numbers are listed numerical starting at 1 = BBC 1 2= BBC 2 etc, on this RCA Set all the numbers are mixed up. Yes you can set all channels into your favourites which makes it a lot easier, but still means time to sort it, without a good memory you can’t just press 5 say for channel 5. All channels are so mixed up so you have to scroll through looking for which you want. All that said good for the price paid.

This was to replace a broken tv for my elderly mother. Wanted something without the use of the internet. Just tv plain and simple. Beautiful picture and simple to use.
We struggled putting channels in order.
Overall a decent tv for the money and one she can operate with ease.

Picture is not so good on some programmes. It has taken some time to get used to this, as our previous tv had an excellent picture.

I did expect nicer picture and audio for this price, but I like roku has it’s own chanel with free films and there’s more options to download apps and even games, which is wierd, who wants play games on telly with tv remote ? Anyway, it is not bad

Although set is light and apparently durable the picture on my set is a bit pale and light but cannot on any setting improve it. Set is easy to set up and tune to local requirements.
BUT beware the EPG (electronic programme guide) although it lists all programmes on a station on that day it only displays one station at a time and you cannot enter which station number you wish to view other than by scrolling down channel list menu

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was reluctant to spend a lot of money on a new TV because I spend so little time watching it, but I also wanted something that wouldn’t be a constant irritant because of poor sound or picture quality. I didn’t need a smart TV because I use a Roku, so my options were limited. I took a chance and ordered this one, and I haven’t looked back. I’ve had it for about two weeks now, and I’m pleasantly surprised at how pleased I am with it.
I’m not a technical person so I can’t comment on anything highbrow, but for my purposes it’s perfect. The set up was quick and easy, and so far it’s working just as it should. If I was going to be picky about anything, I’d say I wish the volume control on the remote was a bit higher up. The remote is very tall, and when you’re using the volume button which is very low down, the remote feels unbalanced in your hand. Other than that, it’s fine. The two HDMI sockets are used for my DVD player and the Roku, and the signal from those is good.
All in all, a lucky find at under 200.

Looks good, works fine everything as it should be, the question is how long will it last, absolutely positive its predominantly Samsung same remote ,menu’s controls I/F’s, crappy generic manual, if it lasts it will be the cheapest QLED ( maybe Samsung) TV on the market its definitely the cheapest at the moment the quality is very high, even comes with a standard remote and a voice control remote.
Still working great lots of extra Samsung supplied streaming for free channels. All are added to the TV guide,
even my Tecnophobe wife can operate it easily.Still working perfectly rapid start and shutdown, plays Movies from external SSD hard drive, absolutely cannot fault it, 10 times faster than Android Tv’s will be happy to buy further RCA products. It’s still on Prime for under 300.

I got this TV as my old 32′ Samsung started having double images on the screen, the RCA TV is more up to date (pity it has 720p only) I chose the non smart one with Freeview HD as I all ready own a android TV box, and the price was good for 32 inch TV. when tuning in the TV, I find the channels were not in order but allows you fix this by rearranging the channels. and when I hooked up my soundbar via HDMI ARC for some reason my soundbar would turn off if I pressed the volume down button and the setting screen would appear if a different button but I think it’s my fault as I put the soundbar in front of the TV. so if I point the TV remote away from the TV, I don’t get any problems. there are one or two concerns, the manaul and the remote don’t say RCA, and on the RCA website it says this TV doesn’t exist! I believe the remote is a generic one, made by HKC, I saw one on eBay, and the picture looks the same as the remote so I will get it just in case. this is not a ‘bells and whistles’ TV but it does the job.

The first one that I ordered was faulty but easily returned, refunded and then reordered. I now have one that works. Best if used with an external speaker (connected with a headphone wire to avoid lag) but fine on its own if you’re not after much bass.

Again, like others it took a while for my ears to adjust to the sound as it has a rather mono sound to it. I have it linked to my computer speaker system though which negates that issue.

There’s a slight lag on the remote but other than that, I think it a bit of a bargain!

We like the amazing features of this tv However when I researched it I was under the impression from another user that it had a record facility I cant find one. Finding our way around the tv is not easy it keeps coming up with Aerial not connected. When I switch it on. Under duress and more by luck than judgement I manage to get it to play. Hopefully its not a fault and we can find out how to operate it properly. All of that said it is an amazing TV for an amazing Price. I Don’t find the Instructions easy to follow but I will persevere .If any one has an easy solution please let me Know !! We already have 2x 55 inch tvs easy to use Maybe just an age Thing ?

The sound through the speakers is a bit dodgy, but I use headphones via a Bluetooth adapter, and it works well enough.
I only use the tv for watching a Fire Stick whilst on an exercise bike, so the picture quality doesn’t bother me too much.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe wanted a small TV for a small bedroom that will get limited use first thing in the morning and maybe last thing at night. The set will do fine for that.

Tuning is easy once you get the hang of it – the user guide was poor quality and not especially helpful, but the process is fairly intuitive if you’ve done it before with other sets. RCA needs to work on their manual and on their digital TV Guide – I have a similar small Samsung which is by far superior in both respects.

Other people have complained about the sound – to my mind at lower volume levels and for personal listening it is fine, but as you increase volume the sound quality deteriorates and it is in no way up to the job of being an entertainment hub – but then a small set is not intended for this use – you have to be realistic.

Small set, small price, limited use – tick, tick, tick.

    Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI will start with what has been noticed when reading other reviews that are deemed as disadvantages;

It does not support HDMI – however my graphics card can display a good enough image for me and I’m really not bothered about it [it’s not really that great IMO]

It is a bit of a delayed response when using the remote – but the picture setup is pretty much the only extensive thing to do. [powering the tv on and off is the only use of the remote I have for it].

People have mentioned about the quality of the sound and again I don’t really care as I’m a muso with decent audio kit.

I had a hand me down LG 50 inch years ago from my brother which gave up the ghost a couple of months ago and the size was a bit imposing for the size of my room.

However…however the same thing has applied here. When sat 2-3 feet from it, I can use windows/linux fine for admin/development work/music production.

Further back to sitting/lying on bed, watching films/TV is absolute fine.

5 stars for now as it’s brand new and working, I will update in a month or so but I am happy with my purchase!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is for the 32 inch android model.
I was a little concerned at some reviews here.
The TV we got is a proper UK model with Freeview play and BBC iPlayer, itvX , ch4 , 5 player etc preloaded
Easy to set up using your phone
    Streams very well
Decent picture , sound is acceptable but typically lacking in bass as with all modern slim TV’s
The interface is excellent but not the fastest.

All in all good value for a fully featured smart TV
As an advantage being android it will play usb files using VLC playe

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersTV has been great, no issues with the function of the TV. My only concern is that this TV was definitely REFURBISHED but the listing did not indicate it was refurbished. I suspect it was refurbished because De’Andre apparently left himself logged into the Netflix account!

Overall happy with the TV just would have preferred the seller was clear about the whole thing.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this TV to replace a perfectly good one which was a disaster for wall mounting (Samsung). The fixing for wall mounting were perfect on this TV. However, if you apply too much pressure when bolting on the TV mount the fixings fall through into the back panel.

Anyway, I had to remove the back panel to retrieve the mounting fixings, then redid the fixings without pressure and in the end was all good. Just a lot of faff.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI just needed a TV to watch while on my treadmill each morning. This TV was perfect in both size and price so I purchased it. Within minutes of it arriving I got it up on the wall bracket and set up the TV aerial and tuned in the stations. Only then did I hear the terrible speakers. They sound Tinny almost like cheap car speakers of the early 1960s. Straight away I was online to get a small soundbar to overcome the problem and I also have the option to use my headphones, but they get a little sweaty on a treadmill.

Always read the reviews and believe them before choosing a product. I just wanted a cheap TV to use for 40 minutes every morning so I didn’t really care too much about the sound.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGreat little TV. Ideal for kitchen, Kids room etc. Super easy to set up if you have an existing google account. You can connect your phone to the TV to have it set up in an instant! Great range of apps and features. I did find that no matter how many times I adjusted the settings the screen did look a little over sharp, but I don’t think this is enough to bother most users.

Now, I have to say, the thing that lets this TV down the most, is the sound. It is horrendous. Imagine you put your TV in a tin can and seal it off…yeah that’s what the sound is like. This of course is not going to be a issue for you if you plan on using headphones or an external speaker.

Other than these issues, I simply cannot fault this TV for the price.

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersOrdered to upgrade my dad’s old 32″ Sony. At the price point it was worth a try, even though some reviews were negative.

I was suitably impressed with this TV enough for me to order one to replace the one I have, as this comes with a DVB T2 tuner (mine is a DVB T) which means that it has Freeview HD channels.

Fingers crossed mine will be just as good.

Update: mine was delivered super fast and even on Bank Holiday Monday.

I have managed to watch some football on the HD ITV channel, and the 60hz kept up with it well. Great HD picture and sound is decent.

I have also connected an old Wii using the provided cables in the box. It works.

There is a scart connect, which I have attached my old VCR to. It works.

I have used the usb to power my Now TV stick. It works.

I have used a USB stick to record live TV. It works. However, there are absolutely zero instructions for using this function so it is very much up to the user to work out. The usual recording via EPG is there, which means that on a TV / Freeview box with a single DVB tuner, if you are watching something at the time it will switch to the programme you have set to record when the time comes.

I have zero idea how to delete anything from the usb using the TV either: probably have to take it out and connect it to a computer and do it that way…

As with the first TV, when the box came it was so light I wondered if there was even a TV inside. The TV is so lightweight that I would have 100% confidence putting on a bracket on any of the walls in my house. Even a plaster board partition.

At this price point I am very happy with the TV. Time will tell of long lasting quality.

(Btw, I haven’t tried the 3.5mm out yet, nor the optical out. Nor do I have ‘cable TV’ or a satellite dish, which this also has connections for…)

In case anyone is wondering after all of the above, I have docked a star for a few reasons:

1, is that it ‘only’ has 2 X HDMI when my preference would be for 3.

2, there is only 1 USB socket, so there has to be a choice between making it a smart TV with Now/Firestick/Roku etc (for USB to power) or as a stick Freeview recorder.

3, the remote has to be pointed almost exactly in a straight line to the sensor on the TV for it to register. It is supper fast when it does, and is something that I will get used to, but it is still worth mentioning.

    4.0 out of 5 stars 42" Standard

Golden Review Award: 67 From Our UsersThe last time I bought a TV was 10 years ago so I am comparing it with a something that is over 10 years old. My old TV only came with the BBC iPlayer and a couple of others that required subscription whereas the RCA is fully up to date with all the catchup apps. The tuner also turns out to be quite sensitive – I live 37km from the transmitter that is also behind several walls (I live in a mid terrace) and yet it is able to pick up all the channels with an indoor aerial. However,

    1) there doesn’t appear to be a way to search the EPG. On my old TV, I could search by name or category (e.g. Star Trek or film) and see what (live) programmes are coming up. The only search that appears to be available is for on-demand content;

    2) the IPTV “data” channels such as Vision TV don’t work. Considering that they work flawlessly on my 10-year old TV this is rather disappointing. Hopefully it will be addressed in a future software update;

    3) there is an option to add “wireless audio devices” to the TV, devices such as speakers and soundbar with the graphic also showing headphones. I have not been able to get it to detect my bluetooth headphones;

    4) the remote is essential the same remote used in a Roku streamer slightly modified for a TV. As such it is missing some common buttons like one to turn subtitles on and off with a single touch.

For the price this is not a bad TV although it can be a lot better.

    Update:
I have now had the TV for nearly 2 weeks. The Roku App turns out to be quite useful and mitigates some of the shortcomings of the remote control. Using the app’s voice input, the many clicks that were previously needed to turn on subtitles can now be achieved by simply saying “turn on subtitles”. To open a “channel” (an app in Roku speak), you can say something like “launch ITVX” to launch the new ITV app.

Live TV may be paused if you connect a flash drive to one of the USB ports. However, beware that a current bug causes the pause buffer to be wiped if you turn off the display, so if you get a phone call in the middle of a programme, you can pause for up to 90 minutes but do not be tempted to turn off the TV screen to save electricity.

I tried to ask the seller about the failure to play the Freeview data channels through the Amazon website but did not get any response. There is no information in the supplied manual on where you can get technical support. Neither the Roku nor the RCA website list this model. I fear that once the Amazon return window passes, getting support may be tricky.

    Update 2: April 2023
A couple of days ago the TV updated to Roku OS 12.0.0, build 4171. The update broke all of the Freeview catch up apps. Any attempt to launch any one of the Freeview apps from the home screen results in an error message saying “Channel Unavailable”. The only way these apps can be accessed now is via the EPG. With the EPG up, press “*” and select an app to start from there. The update is also causing the “private listening” audio to break up. Usually this can be fixed by toggling the headphones on/off button on the Roku mobile app. All in all, this is a poor update and it is not recommended.

    Update 3: April 2023
The problem with the Freeview catch up apps has been fixed. Unfortunately, most of the Freeview data channels still do not work (see attached photo) despite the OS update.

4.0 out of 5 stars Do not upgrade to Roku OS 12
