Setting up the camera was very easy compared to other brands I’ve purchased. The camera connected straight to the WiFi without any problems. The built in features are perfect for home security especially the motion detection and alert whilst away from home. All for a very reasonable and competitive price.

Arrived the very next day and was super easy to setup, was up and running within a couple of minutes and the app is very easy to use. Thinking of buying a few more as security cameras as this initial purchase was to keep an eye on my cat. Even picks up and follows the cat when in view of the camera. I’d give it more stars if I could

Loved the cameras, very easy to setup and get working.
    EXCEPT
The volume is on full blast, it takes some minutes to get the camera connected, all the wile the pre recorded instructions are repeating at full volume.
Why ? I don’t need to be deafened..

Hence the 4 stars not 5

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThese cameras are amazing and so easy to connect and install.
This is the 2nd one I have purchased and both are working brilliantly. I love the fact that you can easily switch from one camera to another using the app and the microphone is great if you need to get the attention of somebody in one room or another.
Brilliant and well worth the money

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought a Reolink indoor camera a few months ago and set it up to cover my hallway. I now have a second one which overlooks the front of the house from inside. I’m not much into tech, but I think these work well. There are a number of useful settings, such as a privacy screen for areas you don’t want the camera to cover, push and email notifications and even the option to share camera with others. My main reason for purchasing this particular camera is because it supports 5GHz, which most don’t. Once set up it does what it’s supposed to do. Picture quality of moving objects, particularly for the camera covering the street is a little blurry. However, I can zoom in on stationary objects, such as vehicles, and see number plates. To store info you need to buy a separate memory card.

The negative for me was the time and effort it took to link both cameras to my wifi. The instructions say that you should scan the QR code, but it wasn’t coming up on the screen as it should, despite following the instrucions step by step. I wasn’t able to access assistance from Reolink either to help with setting up. Eventually I had to connect each one using a LAN lead and even that took several attempts. But I got there in the end and it does give an added sense of security.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSet 2 of these up no problem. Found the sd card slot eventually and installed the cards recommended and I can see loads of clips recorded but I can’t get them to play. Sorry to.do this in a review cos camera is fine but why won’t they play?? I can move them on and see what is happening but when I hit play nothing happens. Please help. Thanks. Great cameras though very pleased otherwise. I have mine on the windowsil looking out onto a well-lit street and pictures are fab.

Absolutely love this camera! So easy to install! The quality of the photos and videos is simply superb! It’s dainty and neat I am using 64GB scan disk mini card.
Sound and siren wow if needed!
I am using my camera to look out onto my drive, person detection and tracking is just superb so pleased with the reolink,
Able to set the days and hours that you want to monitor is just fantastic
I have no hesitation in recommending this little beauty and the price just great!

Purchased this to keep an eye on our puppy at night. Great image both in daylight and at night. Good motion detection and notifications. I like you can zoom in to get a closer view. Great little camera that can be mounted anywhere to suit use and location. Would definitely buy again to expand coverage.

I originally ordered a cheaper webcam but had problems setting it up, apparently because it didn’t work with 5Ghz broadband. Ended up speaking to their technical support and having to return it.
Then I ordered this one instead – more expensive but the set up was so easy, the app is great, and overall it’s a great product.

It was important to get a camera with dual 2.5/5.0 Ghr because we have recently upgraded router to fibre.

    Connection speed was important.

Got this to keep an eye on daily visiting carers for an elderly relative after he said they were being rude to him and being condescending etc. We have it angled to allow him privacy in his home, but so we can record their interactions and what they are doing for him… such as marking down long visits to him that were in reality only 5-6 mins. The setup is a doddle and the quality is great, just wish the microphone was a tad louder.

Had a few problems at first getting the notifications to my email, contacted the company support team by email and they were vey helpful, there is a bit of a delay on the voice side if things and my dog has soon realised I am not actually there and continued to chew the basket, I use it freestanding as I can move it as to where the problem is, over all happy with the product.

This product does a decent job. The Reolink app is pretty good. The picture quality itself is ok, the night vision is better than I expected but still relatively low quality. The option to use Ethernet is nice, and also the option to use a direct h264 stream to my own NVR is great. I don’t use the direct recording and motion detection daily, but I tried it out and it was relatively reliable. You can change the direction on the fly using the app. My issue with that was that it didn’t point low enough to cover the floor, which is what I wanted to cover watching a dog. We ended up putting it on an open drawer in our dining room to make it low enough to see the dog. You could rectify this by mounting it upside down for example under a shelf.

Got 2 of these cameras to replace the old 2.4 G cameras we had.
Too many companies, sellers claiming 5G for their cameras was simply not true, just a con to get you to look at their products!

Straight forward to set up after downloading the Reolink app. This can be used on multiple devices, and when on the app, both camera views are on the same screen,or separately.

Recommended getting a micro SD card,we used 2 (one for each) 128gb.
Photo is of the settings, memory capacity for a week’s recording, this depends on how often the camera is triggered into recording.

Fastened ours on the ceiling,on the highest 4mb setting, pictures were clear and sharp, but the frame rate was quite rubbish!,lots of lag!
We found the middle setting worked best, compromise between a decent frame rate and some quality.

Depends where your using it I suppose.
You can take photos from recorded video and live, zoom was ok.

Night vision was good,8 red leds gave a decent picture, although these can be turned off,and of consequence virtually a black screen!
If you want 4K HD quality,I should imagine a proper CCTV system with wired cameras would be better, but these are perfect for what we require
    All good, definitely recommend!

    5G does work

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI am not good with technology – so i was somewhat apprehensive about getting this camera – some of the reviewers use technical jargon [ very off-putting ] . However , i managed to set this camera up in about 45 minutes ….. and it works perfectly . Have had it operating for about 2 days – the push notifications are pretty well instant [ maybe a second or 2 delay ] – good alert on my iPhone , and i can view within a couple of seconds . Very easy to take a photo or video clip . Image quality is excellent , as is night vision . Note , i have Sky Q dual band router – the initial connection to the camera took me 3 or 4 minutes – the rest of the time was set up / getting used to the controls . Very pleased , and much more confident – will now get an outside camera – build up my home security gradually . Will review again in a few months , and if still working well , will upgrade to 5 stars . UPDATE 4 days later – loses connection occasionally , with bigger time lags – i have it about 20 ft from the router – it is much closer than my 2 Sky boxes , which have no problems with the WIFI connection . On Sky app , it says STRONG signal against all devices . Also , camera poor in a bright room [ silhouettes people ….. and it is NOT positioned in direct sunlight ] . 2 weeks in – a lot of trouble setting up email alerts – finally resolved with very good help from Reolink staff – now takes a about a 20 second video when motion detected and sends on email – permanent record without monthly plans etc ….. as well as the push notifications . Very pleased with the camera/service – 4 stars because not strong connection unless within 20ft of the router .

I bought this to keep an eye on my dog whilst out. Setting up and linking it to my phone was easy enough. To use its fine, it’s slow at panning around the room and at times I struggle to find my dog! He’s a little black cavapoo and we shut the curtain when we leave him to stop him barking at anyone who walks past, this means night mode is activated on the camera and the image isn’t all that clear as the day vision is. Does the job but may look to upgrade in the near future.

This is possibly one of the very few budget consumer cameras that provide RTSP support AND work perfectly fine without requiring access to internet! (except push notifications, of course).
The Android app is not great but it’s decent, and for 40-50gbp there’s probably no other option with the same amount of features and support for open protocols, which allow self-hosting video-surveillance software

For the price I paid I have 0 complaints and only a small gripe.

The camera lasted 3 years and 6 months, tbh I think it would’ve kept going if it wasn’t in such awkward places and occasionally dropped.
It’s quality never deteriorated though occasionally it would randomly decide the SD card needed formatting.
The suggestion, honestly I didn’t like the mixture of having a profile online linked to the cloud and accesible potentially to other people, my guess is it’s not needed for the majority of your user and they’d prefer a more isolated setup and profile for privacy and security reasons but that’s a guess.
    The gripe:
One of the last updates seems to have caused the camera to reset with every reboot to 01/01/2017, it’s frustrating and shouldn’t need a phone sync to fix it while the camera has some internal memory and a wifi connection.

All in all, it will be replaced and I would recommend and buy again, it’s a great home monitoring camera.

I got this to keep an eye on my dogs, and also because it works with 5ghz WiFi (many cameras don’t).
Set up was quick and easy and done in minutes. I tried out the two way audio while at home to get the dogs used to it. Video quality can be changed but I left on the lower setting.
I check in throughout the day and can reassure the dogs if they are unsettled.
The night vision is great. Camera angle can be moved with the app controller, along with speaker volume. Snapshots and video can be taken too.
I’m very impressed and pleased so far…wish I’d got one sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for watching the dogs

I have 2.4 and5g broadband ,my previous camera was 2.4 only and kept dropping off, needing resetting and generally being difficult, this one worked almost out of the box and connection was instant, so far still working with no issues even if unplugged it works without needing passwords when reconnected, well recommended.
    Revised review
Bought another and it wouldn’t connect to wi fi, tried the support pages but still no good so arranged a return and ordered a replacement.
This also failed to connect, very frustrating as the first one had connection straight out of the box so I tried a way not mentioned in the support faqs and that was to temporarily connect with an Ethernet cable, hey presto a connection, added the wi fi password, disconnected the Ethernet cable and positioned the camera and all worked perfectly.
I have no idea why these last two cameras should need this method of connecting but it works and Reolink should include this connection method when the camera fails to initially connect to wi fi by scanning the qr code

  24. AnnabelIeh says:

Bought the camera due to the double band width to connect to the WiFi. The camera still wouldn’t connect, had to fool it with an ethernet cable first to initialise before it would work with the WiFi.
Once up and running it works well enough. Does pick up changes in light as motion sometimes and memory card helps to record as by the time notification arrives and I start app my cats have moved out of shot.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have 2 outdoor reolinks with solar power which never seem to fall less than 80%.
I have various indoor reolinks, mostly the 4mp version but one of two 3mp.
The features on all are amazing and when you think a feature is missing it normally appears after an update such as zoom in on playback which happened out of the blue.
Outdoor cams are amazing and totally self sufficient.
Over the years I have tried various other makes such as yl, foscam and elite, each having their own pluses but reolink really does include them all in one package.
Reolink have a great feature in that it can email the captured movement saving a fortune over many of its competitors where a fee of 3 or 4 per month per unit is demanded.

After sales are superb. One of my outdoor cameras battery went down and after a few emails a brand new one was despatched which has worked supremely well.

I have no affiliation with reolink but after many years of trying to find an ipcam that covers all the bases these products have ended the search.

Brought to replace a YI camera that didn’t pick up people. On Amazon questions the community said the Geolinks did. So went for it. I have to say the set up, ease of sd card were much easier on the YI. But perseve with the Geolink and for me it was worth it. My suggestion to developers at Geolink is make the sd card easier to install and be able to delete individual days from the software

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHeres the good points that I liked …
Can use 5GHz WiFi and with 4M resolution give very smooth high definition picture.
Will record to 128G SD card, and can download files direct from camera without removing card
    Can set selectable Pan positions.
You can playback at various speeds (slower or faster that x1)
You can zoom in on live view and playback.
You can turn the IR leds off … so camera looking through glass is not a problem.
As well as IOS and Android apps, you can use the Reolink Client software on a PC which works very well !
Has all the usual motion detection, notification and recording schedule stuff.

    Things I didn’t like ….

Using the 128GB card you would only expect maybe 8 days continuous storage. Of course these are high quality videos, but even though, I have an iegeek camera which will continuously record for about 4 weeks on a 32GB card !

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEasy to connect and good picture quality. However, I had a lot of problems using the Android app on my phone. For example, I couldn’t capture live video or take photo snapshots. Also, although the camera was successfully recording motion-detected video onto its microSD card, the app wouldn’t let me download any of the video clips. I updated the camera firmware to v3.0.0.116_20110204 using the Windows client. Then I contacted support who sent me the newest version of the Android app by email. Thankfully this did fix all the major problems I was having but the process took several hours in total which wasn’t ideal.

I’m happy with the camera now but there are some improvements that could be made. When the camera auto-switches between day mode (colour) and night mode (black and white), it triggers a motion detection alarm which is stupid and very annoying. Similarly, it triggers an alarm when the infrared lights are switched on or off. Please fix both of these by e.g. adding a 10 second time period after a mode switch during which motion detection is automatically disabled. Also, emailed video clips usually miss the first few seconds of motion detection despite the camera successfully recording all motion (including a few seconds prior) onto the microSD card. If this could be fixed too, that’d be great.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought to replace the Samsung cams that I had that have worked, for the most part, perfectly fine. The setup of these Reolinks was actually simple enough but can get confusing if you don’t follow the directions. I also like the idea on clients on Android, Iphone, Mac and Windows – and that itself is worth extra points.

Also – dual band WiFi. More brownie points for that. My network has a LOT of devices connected to it (30+) and therefore being able to use 2.4 or 5 ghz wifi bands makes life easier.

However, only one flaw. The default angle of view is narrower than the Samsungs (those have no Pan/Tilt/Zoom) and frankly I think that’s a better way to do things. Even though the PTZ feature on these Reolinks is very good and it does work, how do you know if something is happening that should be recorded or seen if it is not currently in view ? The Samsungs have a 130 degree view – so very wide (but no pan/tilt). The software for the Samsungs is also limited; very, very limited.

In my view, I’d give up the Pan/Tilt for a wider angle of view so that the cams can be placed, the views recorded without having to worry about what may be happening outside the current field of view (which I think is about 87 degrees).

Another observation: the cams don’t work so well behind glass (i.e. behind a window) – see the included pic. I suspect this is because the lens is further back from the window (in comparison to the Samsungs).

Still playing around – but so far, I’m impressed. And they weren’t hugely expensive (and these are 4MP cams, not just 1080p).

    A nearly perfect product...

So far it’s an absolutely great camera, I don’t use the native app, as I purchased it to connect to my synology NAS. picture is great, night vision is great and motion record with audio is clear.

Few setup points though to mention
    1. This was not a straightforward Synology setup, a few manual inputs but all accessible and easy to find.
    2. I have mine streaming the max resolution and quality and max FPS, this requires a lot of bandwidth so don’t apply if you have a limit with your ISP.
    3. If setting up on Synology, read and apply the correct space allowance. Do not just press next without reading.

One other point to top it off, the night vision quality is ridiculously good if that’s what’s required.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersIt was time to upgrade from some cheap D-Link IP cameras that were running well below HD and that I had had for years. I read some good reviews on these and found them in the compatible list for Surveillance Station on my Synology NAS so thought I’d go for it. Bought one to start, just to see what I was getting but bought a second a couple of days later; very happy with these cameras.

    Pros:
    Compact body — 8cm x 8cm x10.5cm
No external antenna sticking out [and it doesn’t appear to affect wi-fi connection range].
Very clear image at lower settings, fantastic at 4MP.
Works with Synology NAS/Surveillance Station [I’m running v8.2].
    Easy set up.
    Doesn’t get too warm.
    Very quiet when operating PTZ
Ability to turn off Infrared LED so can be used through glass at night; works really well if you have street lighting.
Ability to turn off front, blue power LED.
Long power cable — 3 metres.
SD card slot [takes up to 64GB]
Discrete mount supplied [with screws and plugs] for wall or ceiling/under cupboard mounting.
App. is full of features and settings, well laid out, easy to follow.
Date, time and camera name displayed.
Motion detection is very good, either with the camera’s own settings or set via Surveillance Station.

    Cons:
No ethernet connection – would have been nice but not essential as app. does all you need set up wise.
No direct web interface – had this on my D-Link cameras but again, not essential as app. is fully featured and everything can be set and controlled through it.

All in all, I’m really impressed and pleased with these cameras and can see myself adding more. They are streets ahead of my previous cameras and with the ability to turn off the infra-red LEDs I can now give up on the idea and hassle of mounting an outdoor camera, just going to use one of these sat inside the window instead.

In regards to using with Surveillance Station on the Synology NAS.
Despite being in the compatible list, when searched for during the process of adding a camera, they don’t show up in the Synology Compatible list but they do show up in the ONVIF list [see photo] and from there, can be added and named appropriately. Also worth noting, I needed to reboot my cameras after their initial set up [through the Reolink app] before they showed up in Surveillance Station.

Exceeded expectations, works with Synology NAS/Surveillance Statio

Can’t fault Reolink. I now have five cams, one outdoor, and slowly replacing my Yl cams.
Reason being is reolink have all of the functionality anyone would need.
Multi view of all reolink cams
Sirens either preset or remote activation.
Ability of unlimited preset options for each/all cams.
    Notifications are immediate.
No monthly costs with ability to send email with mp4 file of each movement.
All usual functions e.g. ptz, turn off infra red, local storage of mp4s. The newer models have facility to zoom in on selected area.
Outdoor cam is wireless and used with solar panel keeps at 100 per cent.
I have Yl, Elite, Foscam cams each have individual merits but lots of negatives. For instance Yl notifications can turn up any time even days late and the app need to be running.
Yl and Foscam want monthly subscriptions and at over 3 each gets expensive to get files off site.

Very quick and easy to connect to wifi. I use a BT Smart Hub with Dual Bands. I had wasted hours trying to connect other brands offering so-called dual band access. Highly recommend on that front.
However the LEDs stay on when the camera is working at night, so it’s not suitable for use in a bedroom while sleeping as the LEDs could disturb. You do have the option to turn them off via the app, but then the camera can’t see into a darkened room, if that is what you are buying it for.
Customer support via email are helpful and quick.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersProbably one of the best value cameras; of course, not to be compared with hikvision , dahua, axis or even ubiquity but this is a really good challenger!

    Good Quality Image
Good Wifi Range – u need a reasonable AP , not the typical ISP wifi one.
It works with Blue Iris CCTV software and Mangocam Cloud ; Reolink Cloud not yet available for UK which is a minus!
Reasonable Sound and Microphone; it even has a Siren – gimmick tbh 🙂
PTZ which is really good as you can set different marks ( e.g. move the camera on your desired pre-set positions, no need to fiddle with the PTZ controls every time )
I haven’t used the sdcard as I use these cameras in my CCTV System
    No starlight 🙁

All in all I think this is a good camera to add to your CCTV System and quite good value for money, especially when on offer for 38 :).

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI bought 2 of these cameras. I had a Yi branded camera before so some of my thoughts are a comparison between the 2 brands.

Setup is relatively straight forward, use the app so scan the barcode on the camera then share WiFi details. For both cameras, it took a few attempts to connect to the WiFi network during initial setup but it’s been fine since (2 weeks in).

For the app, I’ll compare with the Yi app. Its a bit more cluttered and not quite as easy to navigate. For Yi, you have an account which you can share on more than one phone and any settings changed take effect on all phones. For Reolink, there’s no account. To share cameras there’s an option within the app to get a QR code on screen for the other phone to scan (to save having to physically go to each camera again). If one person updates a setting it doesn’t reflect across all devices. It some ways this may be good (ie, one person can have notifications on and another person have them turned off). For me personally it’s impractical as my wife and I leave the house together so both of us have to turn them on/off every time whereas for Yi only one of us needed to do it and we’d both get notifications through
For Yi, you can turn the camera off within the app so the motion recording and live view both turn off. For reolink, you can’t turn the camera off. You can stop it recording and/or turn off notifications with different options but unless you turn off the power it will remain turned on and live view is always enabled.

So far the motion detection in reolink has more sensitivity options and appears to be more reliable than Yi (although both can suffer excessive notifications due to sunlight / slight changes to shadows). Yi has the ability to be triggered by loud noises (advertised as baby crying detection but works equally well with intruder and smoke alarms) but reolink doesn’t have this option which I miss.

Overall, on balance I think the Reolink cameras just edge the Yi camera but be mindful of what features you want. My old Yi camera started to suffer more frequent false alarm motion detection notifications after an update otherwise I’d have probably stuck with that brand.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAlready having some Reolink PoE cameras (RLC-420) and being happy with their build and image quality, I bought into Reolink for an additional wireless camera.
I was looking for a Wireless camera that would be easy to connect to via the manufacturer app and having bought and returned an alternative and cheaper brand 3 months before that required cloud registration when the manufacturer cloud servers were down!! – I had subsequently increased my degree of faith in Reolink as a brand.

Easy to set-up, install and use (via the app), it has been a good purchase for its purpose (primarily keeping an eye on a dog.

Being powered with a regular 3 pin (UK) plug (with reasonable length of cable), it is easy to re-locate around the house. Blue LED on indicator can be switched off, audio can be recorded, various settings that will satisfy most simple camera needs.

If you want a simple to set up, wireless camera with a fairly decent app for viewing recordings and live streams, to be used in a ‘normal’ size room, then this Reolink E1 Pro camera would be worth considering.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersLikes:
    Good quality
    Good pan and tilt remotely
Easy install (see bad point as I did have issue with 24/7 recording with Reolink NVR
    Can turn off IR lights
Can turn off the annoying blue light for power
Can work from a window looking outside providing you turn off IR light and power light however the quality will deteriote and there needs to be enough street light outside to view (will not work in pitch black).
Has SD card slot (not used this yet).
Support from Reolink excellent dispute language barrier (email support).

    Bad point.
Makes noise when pans and tilts
Blue status light is really annoying but can be turned off
Was a nightmare to work correctly on the NVR for 24/7 recording
Unable to officially extend the power cable and one supplied is 3m.
    Max 64mb SD card supported

    A brief description.
I have the 5mp CCTV kit with the 8ch NVR from reolink and I wanted an internal camera so being impressed with their CCTV I bought this 4mp IP internal camera as add on to my existing setup.
My review on their 5mp CCTV can be seen on their other listing.
Setting up the camera was straight forward however, when initialising the camera after setup i lost the camera on the NVR as the 5th camera after a restart which meant it was not recording as 24/7. Not initializing the camera meant I could not use the 2 way voice, control IR lights and status power light which is important to me. After discussing this with Reolink via email support they realised I needed to enter the password I entered when initializing the camera during setup into the NVR IP camera settings by scrolling on to password section (hidden and didn’t realise you can scroll). Once the password was entered into the NVR it was added as the 5th camera and on 24/7 recording.

I have not used this camera with a SD card and as far as I am aware the max this can take is 64mb which is too little in my opinion and should be able to take more but that’s how it is made and that’s what it supports as per Reolink.

I bought an extention from another competitor’s site as the 3m power cord was just not long enough and it is a very unique cable and you WILL struggle to buy one and Reolink have said they do not suppprt an extention as they do not sell it.

The extention cable required is 0.7mm x 2.5mm DC barrel male to female (item number: 112005075990). I bought a 3m extention and it works fine 🙂

My camera is ceiling mounted and I have put the pics of the extention cable for your information.

***I have NOT tested the camera with SD Card or motion detection***

    Addition to Existing Reolink CCTV

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI had a 4 camera Reolink NVR system for outside and had need for a couple of internal cameras to be used on occasions including inside a garage.

Having used another brand at a marginally lower price (which failed and were being return/refund), I decided to change to these and really happy.

The picture quality is superior and the fact all devices are in one app to monitor/view is perfect. I looked at the higher priced ones previously from Reolink but they were overkill for the purpose and meant I had the choice of 30 for another brand or 80-100 for the Reolink and the extra for convenience wasn’t justified. They were bulky too in comparison.

Seem to have been out of stock since I purchased them so I hope there isn’t a problem and it is just they are a new item in short supply.

    UPDATE Jan 2020
Note back in stock and bought a new one for ‘puppy cam’ still very impressed. See there is a 3MP cheaper option which woudl have sufficed but stuck to what I know with this 4MP one so now have 4 of these talking to my phone app, talking to another phone app, and talking to the NVR with 4 x POE cameras.

5MP option also on the horizon I see which presumably is even better with optical zoom – although I rarely move or zoom on my cameras.
