This is a top class hairdryer with all the bells and whistles you would expect – and a pleasingly long cord so you can wander around while drying your hair. If you are someone who spends lots of time and effort styling your hair, and would use all the attachments (which I admit I haven’t) this is the dryer for you. For someone like me, who just wants dry hair that looks neat, it’s not really worth the almost 100 price tag.

I have used this hairdryer for a few weeks now and I am amazed at how smooth it makes my hair feel. The hairdryer is comfortable to use and not heavy. The hairdryer has 2 speed settings, 3 heat settings and a cold button that you hold on. Addition to any other hairdryers that I have used it also has a smooth and volume switch, for straight or curly hair, this has something to do with negative and positive ions. I have straight hair and selected the smooth setting and I have found that using this hairdryer it makes may hair feel super smooth and soft. The hairdryer is powerful and dries my hair quickly and with the long cord you are not restricted in anyway. Although this is hairdryer is on the expensive side, it feels like its going to last, it also does not give off any unpleasant burning smells when high heat is used and the hairdryer itself doesn’t get hot. I am impressed!

You can choose at what level you wish to purchase a hairdryer. The ‘Revamp Progloss 5500’ is certainly towards the upper end and it purports to offer salon levels of quality in the home. It does not quite do this, but that might be more to the professionalism of the hairdryer than the tools they use. The ‘Revamp’ is a classy piece of kit that will be many people’s best hairdryer yet.

There are three attachments required, the standard concentrator is fantastic. It is powerful and fast, managing to dry hair faster than the old hairdryer. To produce this type of power the ‘Revamp’ has a weight to it that is a sign of quality, but may be a little bit for some people, especially if they add attachments. I am happy to have this heft if it is used to provide the great power offered here.

This is the second hairdryer we have now by the brand Revamp and we love them, I don’t think I would go back to my normal brand.

This is a professional salon hair dryer with the added bonus of the ionic jet technology which will leave your hair in such a good place giving it a smooth sleek and shiny look – the way you get from the hair dressers.

It comes with 3 attachments- diffuser bowl (which I don’t use as I hate curls) and the 2 concentrator nozzles I must admit I tend to use it with none of the attachments as I have been doing so for years.

It usually takes me ages to dry mine and my daughters hair as it’s so long and thick but this is such a fast drying hair dyer, it has a 4 heat / 2 speed settings, cool freeze shot and a really descent size cable (3 meters)

It’s such a stylish and prefect hair dyer, comes well packaged in a well presented box and would make a prefect gift.

This looks and feels like a really good quality product. It arrived encased in a black cardboard box, and the hairdryer comes complete with three nozzle attachments, consisting of two concentrators with the slim ends, and one diffuser bowl.

It’s got three different heat settings as well as a cool setting, and two speeds. The cable is a decent length which is very helpful when the nearest socket isn’t so handy. It does feel a little heavier than the dryer I had before, and although it’s claimed that it is quiet, I wouldn’t say it is particularly quiet when drying.

It does seem to dry my hair – long, straight, fairly thick – quite quickly, which is great, and the concentrator end does help give a smoother finish when drying. I usually use the middle heat setting after sometimes using the highest heat setting briefly just to get my hair a bit drier initially.

Certainly not the cheapest hairdryer on the market, but it’s very good. I’m impressed; especially with the weight. So many hairdryers these days seem to weigh such a lot – this one is light and easy to use.

There are a couple of different settings; I particularly like the negative ion button which does really work, and makes my hair smoother and shinier and easier to style.

Two speed settings and three heat settings; more than usual and there’s also two different nozzle attachments – try them all out to see which best suits your hair. I do like to use a shot of cold air at the end of drying, to set my style

Maybe a bit of a gimmick but the front grille is infused with keratin and coconut oil which claims to enhance the smoothness and style; my hair certainly dries smoothly and looks great, so maybe it really does work?

A great hairdryer, I’ve used it daily and am really pleased with the results. It’s not a brand that I’ve been familiar with before, but would certainly buy more from this range

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme. This hair dryer came beautifully packaged though there could be more information about the “Ionic Jet” in the instructions. The machine itself is a work of art, the sort of thing that in the future will be in a design museum: sleek matte black, curvaceous, light weight, it really is a lovely thing. Various family members have used this dryer to allow me to write this review and comment on it’s effect on different types of hair.
The attachments all fit very well, and firmly to the machine, and the noise it makes seems to be quieter and of a lower tone than previous dryer’s: more of a drone than the screech one is used to.
When used on my granddaughter’s naturally straight hair, the effect of the ions were apparent, her hair was sleek and almost looked like it had been straightened with irons.
However, my daughter-in-law, who has extremely curly hair, could not get the straightening effect she wanted with any setting: the dryer always added frizz, just in differing amounts according to the setting. Mind you, the only way she can get almost no frizz is to let her hair dry naturally, and if she is in a hurry she will use this dryer which is something she would not do with other dryers.
Everyone who has used this dryer says it works well, and better than other dryers, and I must assume the effects on their hair is an objective fact: this dryer is better than others.
At time of review it is selling for 100, which is considerably more than ordinary hairdryers, and about average for professional/ionic models. However, having received 100% approval from those who have used it, I would say it is value for money. 5 stars and recommended.

I am loving this hairdryer, but it will not suit everyone.

Being tall the the long cable is a big plus. The dryer is larger and heavier than anything that I have used before. This is not a problem for me as I have long arms and strong wrists, but my mother would not be able to use it on herself. Another great benefit for me is the speed with which this dries my hair. I am prone to hyperacusis, so the less time that I have to listen to noise the better.

The controls are simple to understand and use. It is useful to have an extra heating setting. The look and feel of the rubberised shell, is a thing of wonder.

I have long thick hair, which I prefer to style sleek and straight. The dryer is doing a great job of helping keeping all my hair in place and in good condition.

Other than the slightly odd choice of brand name, I love this product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve always used cheap hairdryers and they’ve done me okay until now. I wouldn’t say this is anything insanely special compared to a normal hairdryer, but the ionising feature is pretty cool for either a smoothing or volumising edge.

    Pros:
    – Really elegant design. It looks great, proper salon-quality, and doesn’t mark easy like other hairdryers I’ve owned
    – Comes with three attachments: two concentrators (which I only use if I want straight hair or for my fringe) and a diffuser. I have really fine, naturally wavy hair and I scrunch it up to be curly with serum. I found using any other attachment (or no attachment) was so powerful that if straightened out my curls, so the diffuser is what I’ll use from now on for this
    – Super long wire, which is so great. My old hairdryer had a really short one
    – Comfortable to hold and placement of switches are good
    – Ioniser switch is a cool feature and a light comes on when it’s in use – I use smooth (green light) for my fringe and volume (blue light) for the rest of my hair. I’d say the smooth one works but not sure about volume
    – Has a cold switch feature which sets hairstyle
    – The heat and speed settings cover my use cases! I use the middle heat and vary between speeds
    – Apparently the grill is infused with oil (I’ve always found this a weird selling point and don’t know how it works). I have noticed my hair is a lot healthier since using it so maybe it works

    Cons:
    – The airflow is very concentrated, which actually isn’t ideal for my hair. I try to lift my hair up at the roots and blast dry but this doesn’t really work with a powerful, directed hairdryer, it volumises the ends but not the roots. I’ve tried different techniques and still can’t really get the volume I want. I may try doing my roots on the slower setting to see if that helps
    – It’s a little bit heavier than my previous hairdryer, which means my weak wrists get tired when doing my roots! But it’s so quick at drying this isn’t a huge issue

    Would I buy it? —
I honestly would be happy to pay the price it’s being sold for. You can certainly tell it’s worth the money due to the quality build, salon design and attachments and features, but obviously you may find it hard to compare it to other well known brands. The ioniser wins it for me, and the fact my hair is a lot stronger.

Hair is a lot softer and shinier!

This Progloss 5500 Hairdryer has 2 styles settings: -ve ion (for smooth & shiny hair) and +ve ion button (add volume & bounce to curls). It also has 2 speed and 3 heat settings.

First is the size: the hairdryer came in a big box, which also contains two concentrator nozzles and a deep bowl diffuser. The hairdryer itself is big and heavy, so having to lift it up while blowing my hair and the kids hair is quite tiring. However, the time I need to dry hair is shorter than my other hairdryer. Since the wind is quite strong even with the lower speed, my hair basically is going all over the place, not mentioning about styling.

It is stated that the front grille of the hairdryer is infused with super smooth keratin, argan and coconut oil to help deliver enhanced ulitmate smoothness and shine to your hair, for a salon professional finish. I do honestly feel my hair is smoother, but whether that comes from the -ve ion styling setting or keratin infused front grille I really dont know because you can’t really visualize these substances are actually present. Also, I wonder if the infused keratin will eventually used up over time?

The main thing I like about this hairdryer is the fast hair drying time. Don’t think I will use it on styling. The hairdryer is quite pricey but if it is counter by the technology used, I won’t be criticizing on that.

This hairdryer comes with three attachments which can easily be pushed on.

The actual hairdryer is on the heavy side but on the plus side, it has a 3 meter cable and a good plug, which is a lot easier to remove from the socket. The handle is easy to grip and non slip. The buttons are easily accessible and are in a good location, so your fingers whilst gripping the hairdryer, don’t adjust the settings.

There are three heat settings; the lowest is on the cool side whereas, the other two setting pack serious heat, to get the job done. I found the highest heat setting, very hot but it would probably suit those with thick hair.

You can select and adjust your style from smooth/silky to volume/bounce.

This hairdryer is powerful, sleek and easy to use.

When this arrived I was so excited to try it… it looks a real quality item, the packaging is impressive and would make a great gift. On using it I was really impressed with the nozzles that attach to the dryer. They have several ridges and fit snugly so they won’t fall off, but don’t fit so tight it’s impossible to remove them. The cover for the back vent is detachable for cleaning which I also think is a nice idea. The controls are simple to use – 3 heat settings with a notable difference in heat and 2 speed settings. There is also a rocker switch at the top which adjusts for sleekness or volume and a cool shot button which blows very cold air!! My hair dried really quickly – this is a very powerful hair dryer – and it was considerably less frizzy than it usually is. If I had the skills to style my hair I’d be reasonably confident it would be possible to dry it straight with this dryer…. but I don’t know how to style it properly so less frizzy is the best I can hope for!! The cord is nice and long too which is also a bonus!! It’s a bit of a weird thing to say but I really like the plug! It’s quite big and reinforced where the cord meets the plug so it will withstand lots of movement without the wire coming loose.

This is great hairdryer – it’s powerful and I think could be used in a salon. The downside for me is that it’s quite heavy – much heavier than all other hair dryers I’ve ever owned. It’s not so heavy as to be a particular issue for me but could be for some users and potentially could make styling hair quite difficult. Also, despite saying it has a super silencer… I think it’s super noisy!! Admittedly, I’ve never had a hair dryer this powerful but I think the noise would stop me using this early in the morning so as not to disturb others in the house (and possibly my next door neighbours!)

Plug is a nice design which makes removing it easier, good long power cord so you can dry your hair and look in the mirror at the same time, with the freedom of movement.

Handle has a nice none slip feel, and the weight of the Hairdryer seems surprisingly very light compared to the power. I did expect it to be heavier.

The ultra-cool freeze shot did not seem to do anything, but then I’m new to the idea of blow drying your hair with cold air?

The Progloss 5500 Hairdryer has three different heat and two speed settings on it, easy to user and switch between the settings and the changes seemed to be instance, no waiting for the thing to warm up. There was no smell of burning (which my older cheaper hairdryer seems to give off). Also the outside did not feel warm to the touch.

No idea what was supposed to happen between the volumizing and smoothing settings, but with short hair not sure they are designed for me.

No sure if “negative ion” is required to improve your hair drying, I quick internet search provided “Negative ions are odourless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in certain environments. Think mountains, waterfalls, and beaches.”.

I don’t need the attachments so can’t comment, however dried my hair very quickly, the Revamp Progloss 5500 Hairdryer is very powerful and you can feel the blow from some distance away.

I would like to think the price is a reflection on how long the Progloss 5500 Hairdryer will last. The build material does seem to be of very high quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and well made HairDryie

I hadn’t heard of the ‘Revamp’ brand before ordering this hairdryer, but have to say I was really quite impressed. It’s a well made dryer with a smart rubberised finish (a bit like the expensive soft-touch plastics in an Audi!). It comes with three different attachments — a large dish-like diffuser and two concentrator nozzles. One thing I noticed immediately and really liked was that the plug has a kind of ridge or lump on the back so that there’s something to get a grip on when pulling it out of the wall — think how many devices and appliances these days come with those slimline plugs that are bloody impossible to unplug — this is the solution! It’s quite a large dryer, and ideally I would have liked something a bit smaller, as the bigger they are, the more cumbersome they are to hold and distance correctly from your head. That said, it’s not particularly heavy, given the size, so that perhaps doesn’t have to be a dealbreaker. Lastly, in terms of aesthetics/appearance, it comes in a smart cardboard box with an outer card sleeve.

In use, the dryer does an excellent job. It has multiple heat and speed settings and a cool shot (not that I ever use the latter tbh). It’s the fastest hairdryer I have ever used and I think would probably even give the new Dyson a run for its money in terms of drying time. Whilst certainly not cheap, it is around a third of the cost of the Dyson, so something to bear in mind if you are in the market for a pro-quality appliance. I got a lovely smooth, shiny, static-free finish, though the high power seemed to knock out some of the volume if I’m honest. I think this product is thus probably best suited to people with thick, coarse or curly hair, or those trying to get little kids hair dry very quickly after bath time. If you have fine or flyaway hair, it will be hard to retain full control of your style as it’s so powerful, even on the very lowest speed setting, that it just blasts hair everywhere.

Very good, but needs a slower speed option for thin hair to get the full five stars — as it is, it gets four.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhat can a 99 hair dryer do that a 30 one can’t? I really did wonder this before trying it. However, the results are surprisingly impressive (despite some MAJOR downsides – read on…)

I have very long thick hair which is already sleek and smooth after using an average priced shampoo, matching conditioner and a 30 hair dryer, so I wasn’t convinced I could add much to the mix just by changing hair dryers.

    How wrong was I?!

This hair dryer really gives my hair a much healthier glossier appearance with no extra effort or product. I was quite taken aback the first time I used it! My boyfriend commented too.

I like the two separate concentrator nozzles. The narrow thin one seems to make my hair smoother and sleeker. The other one is better for quicker results.

As I have straight hair the bowl attachment is useless for me, since it’s for curly hair, so I haven’t tested it.

I wouldn’t say it dries my hair that much quicker than any other decent power hair dryer, nor is it much quieter. Perhaps a fraction, but this isn’t really an issue as hair dryers are just noisy, and that’s expected.

The wire is a very decent length, allowing me to get closer to my mirror (a frustration with my other dryer). I doubt many would need a longer wire than this!

I had no idea how a hairdryer could have built in oils but according to the description:
“The Progloss 5500 Hairdryer front grille is infused with super smooth keratin, argan and coconut oil to help deliver enhanced ulitmate smoothness and shine to your hair, for a salon professional finish”

So does this run out eventually? I don’t know. For now, it works VERY well!

    COMPLAINTS –
    – The concentrator nozzle isn’t secure and comes off EVERY SINGLE TIME I use the dryer. If I’m lucky it comes off once while drying my hair. If I’m unlucky it’s around 3 times. It’s extremely hot after use so difficult to put it back on without scorching my skin.
    – Switches on handle. It’s good that all the switches are quick and easy to access, but they’re activated very easily with only the slightest touch, so I often knock either the power or heat settings while drying my hair. Easily rectified but a bit annoying.
    – I can’t seem to tell the difference between the volumising and smoothing settings! My hair looks good whichever setting I use but it’s more sleek than volumised. The only way I can add volume is with products or drying my hair upside down.

Overall it’s quite annoying to use but I’m still impressed with the effect, and my boyfriend really likes it for blasting his short hair dry too. Even on short hair it gives a good polished looking effect.

I do like the dryer but I am hesitant to recommend it at this price due to how inconvenient it is with the nozzle constantly falling off after only a few week’s worth of use.

A very powerful hair dryer that is simple to use and dries hair very quickly. The controls are very intuitive and you don’t really need to read the manual to do what you need to do. However, I absolutely didn’t see enough of a difference between this hair dryer and any other hair dryer I had to justify the price tag. Yes, it is a bit more powerful but I am not sure that I would want to spend the amount of money just to save 5 minutes!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis dryer has three different heat and two speed settings on it – most dryers I’ve owned have two heat settings; luke warm & too hot (which you can never use for the smell of burning plastic), so it delighted me to have inbetween heat/speed options. The cord is a good length, so I’m not strangling myself when I dry the back of my hair. Finally; the dryer comes with a detachable nozzle and a diffuser to use for adding volume and encouraging the weak waves in my hair to come out to play. And, although it has nothing to do with the product’s function, I love the sleek design of the dryer.

I have coarse, frizz prone hair that I’ve been dying for over half of my life. I rarely bothered to use any heated appliances on my hair as it would feel straw-like afterwards and the finished results didn’t last for long anyway, but this has converted me to make more of an effort. Negative/positive ions & Progloss grilles all sounded like yet another meaningless gimmick – but I’ve been using this dryer every morning since getting it, and yes, in just over one week I can already see a improvement in my hair’s condition. The smoother result from using the nozzle seem to last longer then before, my hair colour is still shiny and my hair feels less dry & frizzy after use. I would never claim that my hair is damage-free, but these results are still impressive. Plus; it does seem that the hair drying ritual is taking less time, so that’s another plus.

I have no real issues with this hair dryer, but the price is a bit ouch. Still the results are speaking for themselves, so I’ll have to say that you are paying for quality.
