I like Roberts, they have solid feel and look fantastic. The sound quality has always been good for me. I’m no audiophile, I realise it’s a mono speaker. All I want is for it to connect to my phone easily and play the music I love.
The Roberts Beacon does exactly that and with some style.

Having read some reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about the possible lack of bass but I needn’t have worried.
Considering the size of the speaker, the overall quality of the sound is excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending this speaker.
Great value, well made and packaging is excellent too!

I listen to a lot of sounds on my iPhone, both catch-up radio programmes and audiobooks. By connecting my phone to the Roberts by Bluetooth, I get a better listening experience. Some Roberts products have too much base but the balance with this one seems just about right. A sonorous, rich tone superior to the iPhone, which can be a bit tinny, and of course you can turn the volume higher. The Roberts can be moved from room to room easily. Battery life seems OK. Glad I bought it, but it was rather pricey.

As always the quality of Roberts products shines through. Bluetooth set up was a doddle even for a technophobe such as me. I use the speaker mainly for listening to audio books stored on phone and the depth of sound is wonderful. I have not had the speaker long enough to comment on battery life.

Having purchased this speaker in the sale, I am really pleased with the quality.
I loved the box, presentation, and ease of set up and use. Easy to pair, and the sound is excellent.
I have this by my bedside and it fits nicely with the decor, I love the fabric design, and clean lines.
When fully charged, all three lights turn off, and this can either be used independently or with a charger. I keep mine plugged in as it won’t be moving!
Overall, an excellent buy for a beautiful speaker.
Get it on sale if you can 🙂

Very impressed with this speaker, it’s very stylish and the sound quality is amazing! It is a bit bigger then I expected it to be (it looks quite small from photos) but super happy with it still!

I love this speaker, I use it for long night shifts and never had problems with the battery I still have a good amount of charge left after 10 hours.

Bluetooth connects with no problems and been very reliable.

I’m not an audiophile by any stretch but I enjoy the audio quality but that’s only my subjective opinion.

This is a great Bluetooth speaker with a great colour range, easy connectivity and great sound, though it’s a tad expensive if you are someone like me who grew up with 70s hi-fi and likes a stereo pair.

Like with any such speaker, manage your expectations. I bought this speaker primarily for spoken word (Radio 4 drama and comedies) and it works perfectly for them. However it absolutely struggles with choral works and opera – the distortion on the Allegri “Miserere” prompted me to write this review. It’s not designed for that type of listening and generally it’s a pretty good speaker – one I’ll happily keep and use but just be selective as to what I use it for. Build quality (and packaging) is excellent – robust, decent weight and size. Battery life is exceptionally good.

Love the cheerful yellow colour, let’s be clear, I’m not a speaker geek, I just wanted something that looked nice to play music and Audible books on when I’m working in the kitchen. Lots of others on the market looked like they should be in a teenager’s bedroom but this suited me just fine. Would have liked it in red, but wasn’t going to pay the extra to Roberts direct for a red, higher spec one. This one had a good reduction in the sale too. The sound is almost muffled after listening to a cheap 10 Lidl speaker for several years which was tinny, but the sound quality is definitely superior and more rounded in tones. Chuffed!

Such power in such a small speaker, I was mind blown when I 1st tried it out. I love it, very stylish, very light in weight (making it easily portable) and battery lasts a very long time. I highly recommend

Sturdy and classic looking speaker. Linked in a second to my iPhone and holds the signal anywhere in the garden. The sound produced is bold and a surprising amount of base which was a nice surprise.

I did not have very high expectations of this speaker when I ordered it as have had others that were mediocre ( and that’s being generous ). I must say that I was very surprised at the sound quality of this Roberts Bluetooth speaker and highly recommend it. The tone is lovely rich and mellow. The speaker connects up straight away with no need to keep pairing. It’s much much better than any other of the speakers I own. The speaker is a good as well size neither too big or too small and looks good too.

Beautiful rich sound from a truly beautiful speaker. I am not too interested in the technical specs, I wanted a good sound quality and something that looked nice. This speaker did both these things in heapfuls. The sound is rich and smooth with pop, rock and classical, the tone is quite simply superb, you melt into its tones, and its also a stunningly beautiful speaker to see out and displayed.

Very impressed with the quality build and styling. The sound is excellent and exactly what I need. I’m now considering another so I get stereo.
Note: I haven’t cored on the water-resistance of the speaker as I don’t think it applies to these speakers.
