Very simple to operate and very smart to look at.
I bought my Roberts Mini Radio last year and have absolutely no problems with it. Great radio except it only covers FM and DAB radio. Not DAB+ as listed in the description. Have only realised this, this year when I tried to turn on the Christmas staions that have upgraded to playing on DAB+. Amazon you need to fix the description so people are not tricked into buying the wrong thing.
Had struggled with FM reception for a while, so thought it was time for a treat. Despite it’s size, the output & clarity of this little cube is amazing. Well worth the money & what I would expect from Roberts.
Bought for my mother , she loves it and fids it easy to use . Mam is 92 by the way . Good buy .
Love design , colour is good. Only gave a 4 star due to volume is not the loudest but does for kitchen.
Ive had a few Roberts radios over the years. This is very compact radio and has good sound quality. Ive added rechargeable batteries to mine and radio charges them when its connected to the mains. This makes for more freedom with the radio as I use it in my office plugged in or take out without worrying how long the batteries will last.
Bought for my bathroom as it takes batteries. Its just perfect.
Good sound quality and works well as a portable with self charging batteries as well as mains
East to set up
This is a great little radio which we have on the window sill in our bathroom. Great sound for a small radio, however we’ve not been able to access DAB+ yet and Radio2 is only available on FM!
I bought this radio for use where there is no convenient mains power source so I added the four rechargeable AA batteries to the order. I have been an enthusiastic listener to the radio for more than sixty years and this set is a welcome addition to my collection. I have found it easy to set up the main channels to which I listen as presets which makes hopping channels much easier. The battery charge lasts a week.
As an overall comment though, I would say how disappointing it is how relatively few DAB channels are available for reception in East Hampshire.
It’s a neat radio and gives you options of standard batteries, rechargeable batteries or mains power. If you are using rechargeable batteries it charges the batteries when you have it plugged into mains power.
Retro style is lovely. Setting up presets a bit more complex than other sets we have.
I wanted a radio that would be more stable in my workshop and the square shape ensures it doesn’t get knocked over, no matter what.
Bought this as I present for my wife.
We both love the Robert’s brand
This did not disappoint in any way.
Love i
he product was used in a new apartment to go with the decor and furnishings.
The singular best radio I have ever possessed
Everything brilliant- I love Robert’s and radio 4!!! Especially into the night, twilight whenever- buy one do

Great looking, stylish radio with a decent sound output for its size. Purchased for my wife as she wanted something to take outside to an area with no power. Therefore, the built in battery charger sounded perfect and having purchased Roberts radios in the past I was confident on the build quality and overall standard. You just need to make sure that you have 4 x AA batteries that are rechargeable as they do not come supplied. No big deal as they are cheap as chips to buy if you don’t already own some. Wife loves it and so far after one full charge the batteries have lasted a good few hours without any loss of sound or signal.
I did wonder if this radio was going to be worth the spend but it was. Beautifully made and the sound quality is second to none.
Bought this for my elderly Mother. She can use it easily and was very impressed with the sound quality. Says she should have bought one years ago!
I asked for it to be wrapped as a present, and it was not, and spoiled a BIRTHDAY gift.
Very pleased with this item. Came well packed and on time. Just as described by the advert, we already have another radio by this manufacturer and find them very reliable.
Can’t beat Roberts Radios in my opinion .Bought this in very pale pink for my bedroom. Easy to set up and do the preset channels. Great sound and design. They are a bit pricey but you have to treat yourself now and then especially in these times. I think they ooze quality and love retro design. I got this one with 30 off in a special lightning deal so thumbs up all round.
It’s a nice, good looking radio. Somewhat rudimentary in operation. Station ‘names’ is limited to 8 characters, more up to date devices have enhanced capability indicating this receiver is using ‘earlier’ electronics with DAB+ decoder added. The display is big and clear, if not dated in appearance but easy to read for the ‘Older Generation’ .There is no clock.
Was expecting more ‘bass’, there is no tone control. Otherwise it works well, receiver seems sensitive enough and sound quality is ‘good’. I’m pleased with it and will keep it. It’s a modern blast from the past but perhaps
Roberts need to think about modernising the electronics in general to give more enhanced programme detail.
very smart compact radio,excellent tone/reception
bit disappointing for the price it didnt include rechargeable batteries!
My wife is thrilled with this radio giving it full marks for audio. As she uses two hearing aids that is a rare complement. It is compact and fits well into the limited kitchen space. It comes with a well written manual which is a rarity these days.
The sound quality on this radio is great, perhaps too good as it spends most of the day on. We were kindly lent a radio after our old DAB radio broke but we are so glad we treated ourselves for his birthday as the quality of this radio is in a completely different ball park. You won’t be disappointed.
It’s really handy as it can be operated off the mains lead supplied and from batteries. As the instructions suggested we bought rechargeable batteries (they are recharged through the lead provided) so he can move it around the house with him when the cricket is on and I don’t have to listen to it.
I like the way it is permanently tuned to my favourite station. Just one press on the button and I get what I want. The sound is very clear. An excellent radio.
I hate buying any electronic device as I dread reading manuals and can’t bear the annoyance of something not working. This was perfect. Connected the lead. Plugged it in to the wall socket. Turned it on. Possibly I had to press one more button, I’m not sure. But all the stations programmed themselves, have stayed programmed and sound lovely. And this is in a building that can’t get a reasonable FM signal. Very , very happy technophobe.
Love this little radio. Reminds me of the 60s. Very easy to set up. Lovely tone. Love the colour duck egg blue. Had to buy a dab+ as couldn’t get my usual gold music station on my dab radio. Loads of stations and can be preset. Waiting for price to go down as I want to buy my friend one. Amazon best price all round but still a bit pricey. Well made and packed in a beautiful box. You won’t be disappointed.
A nice looking retro style radio with the advantages of up to date tech. The sound has a full clear quality, with a warmth that sounds like old valve radios of 50’s. (In my opinion). If this is a design feature then it works. There are no tone or bass controls, so the sound is what it is. This is a mono radio as far speakers are concerned, however, plug in your headphones and your in stereo. The display is illuminated with a yellow/orange light, in keeping with the 50’s theme. It’s easy to use with a good user guide. A note about the vinyl finish. There is no doubt that the colours and finish are excellent, but the vinyl is a bit fragile and can scuff and mark if one is a bit careless, (I’m thinking of rings on fingers…).
Having said that an excellent radio.
I am thrilled with this radio, I turn off the TV now and listen to the radio, the sound quality is excellent. The controls are great and easy to use.
After 8 years of service, our original radio was starting to look a little rough around the edges. This radio is a perfect replacement. It’s smaller (more vertical) but the sound quality is superb. Really pleased.
Top notch piece of kit that looks great in the kitchen where friends have remarked about this retro piece and being able to Sync it with my iPhone iTunes is an added bonus. I look forward to travelling with it on holiday next year and indeed for many more years to come before any of the children lay claim to it and it goes on for yet another generation after mine.
As you might expect, a small radio costing this amount with the name ‘Roberts’ on it, gave a certain amount of confidence about the quality & performance. I decided to go for the rechargeable batteries (4X AA) for which a charging unit is supplied with the radio. It took several hours to reach full charge with the ‘new’ batteries. As expected the radio was very easy to use after a quick look at the well laid out instruction manual. The quality of sound is warm and detailed with enough ‘bass’ frequency to keep ‘head-bangers’ satisfied as well as retaining detail in classical music’s double bass, tubas and kettle drums while retaining enough high frequency to pick out triangle, piccolo and violins. This is quite an achievement for such a small unit/speaker. The whole thing oozes quality and class which justifies the cost. That old saying ; “You get what you pay for” applies here.
Perfect little radio – with great ‘large’ sound – as one would expect from Roberts. Love the blue colour, I chose, and takes up little space – and easy to move around, from room to room – with the handy handle! Nice to have the choice of mains or battery.
I don’t normally leave reviews but have been very impressed with this radio. Normally use very expensive Tivoli Audio products as an audiophile for their good sound quality but always had a soft spot for Roberts radios for their design. I bought this mainly because of this and so was more than pleasantly surprised by the excellent sound quality. The speaker looks quite cheap through the grill so I wasn’t expecting it to sound very good, but I was wrong. The wooden case gives the sound a lush, balanced, fullsome and valve like sound. Impressed!
I bought this for 89 which was an absolute bargain! I think it may have been a return, but it was in perfect condition and looked brand new. Great sound, lovely colour and if you keep an eye out for reduced price/ special offer/ returned item even better! There are cheaper brands but you’re paying for the asthetic value too so if you like a good looking radio in your kitchen or bedroom you won’t be disappointed
