This was bought to replace an earlier Roberts that had served me well as a radio in my outside art room, run on rechargeables as power isn’t installed. Unfortunately, I assumed it would charge in situ the batteries Amazon suggested I added to the order, it doesn’t, and I failed to see that in the spec before purchase. Now had to invest in a separate charger so, be warned as the batteries are not that easy to remove & replace after charging! But I still think it’s a great radio!

Bought as a birthday gift to myself! I love the retro styling, which reminds me of my first transistor radio many years ago. The sound quality is good for its size. I haven’t tested battery usage and lifespan as yet. I love the retro colour – a light blue.

Excellent radio. Top quality and sound is good. I use the Bluetooth function too to listen to podcasts and it’s never dropped like an echo dot for instance. Top quality and finish is spot on.

It works well and the sound is up to Roberts standard. Easy to use, just link Bluetooth to your phone and play DAB + or just use standard DAB. Looks good and retro with the flexibility of battery or power.

Really love this little rambler (do check dimensions, it’s dinky). Use plugged in as a bedroom radio/radio alarm, then when camping switch to battery. Bluetooth works well, so able to access music App Library when away. Easy to use. Love it.

Ordered this as a present from Amazon rather than direct from Roberts, radio looks good except why was a sticky label stuck on the side of the box with my details when other items are in an external box, now the present is covered in label glue !

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought as a present for an oldy, a bit too complex for him to understand, keeps losing the pre – sets.

Looks pretty is reliable and easy to use. Sound quality is reasonable ( it is only a small radio after all!)I like the ” information” setting so I can see what is playing but wish it would remember and retain this setting after it had been turned off and back on again.

Got this as a replacement as the one I got elsewhere suddenly stopped working. Unfortunately it’s come with a plug for a different country so unless I use an adapter cannot be used. Tried to contact Amazon about this but no response

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI initially looked into getting one of these based on its looks alone, there’s no denying it’s retro styling and beautiful build quality. As others have said, the sound does rather let it down. It’s not very loud even on full volume, the bass is slightly muddy and there’s no real richness to the tone.
All I wanted this for though is to listen to Podcasts to help me sleep, it sits next to my bed and is good enough for what I need, voices are clear and it stays connected fine. I had bought this with the idea that if it wasn’t up to par I’d return it, but it’s such a nice little package that I can’t bring myself to do it. If it was 30 quid cheaper I’d feel more comfortable about the purchase, but I’m keeping it anyway. Audiophiles may want to keep looking, but if you’re looking for something that oozes style and nostalgia while delivering acceptable sound quality and price isn’t an option, this is one to consider.
Overall I’m happy with my purchase

    Overall great little radio

The radio looks good and sounds good, it is reasonably easy to set up the preset channels and other settings.
The only down side is that it uses a lot of battery power, I remove one battery when I’m not using it which prolongs the battery life.

This is a great sounding radio but eats batteries. so you have it plugged into the electric, well then brilliant little radio, great sound, great look ,very retro, we bought the green one very well made.
The reason why the radio eat the batteries you can’t turn it off,the clock is always on you can dim it but using power . I have tried both rechargeable and normal high quality batteries the same story. I have 3 roberts radios one 1950s 70 80 s all still running well

Bought this to replace a Pure Evoke which went poof after a couple of years. Compared to the Pure its obviously a totally different aesthetic, and very nice too, but the sound is a bit feeble by comparison. I bought mine for the kitchen to listen to the radio while cooking, and with the noise of an extractor fan etc, its really only just up to the job.

Very nice looking radio. Very sensitive in both FM and DAB. However:
    – Batteries lifetime is very short, for what it is I would not expect it to deplete the fresh set of batteries in just few days;
    – Sound is very thin, absolutely no low end (there are portable speakers out there which are smaller and of a much better sound quality).

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI bought this radio as I’ve already have Roberts because of the quality and sound of the others I have.
This radio I like very much but was disappointed the fact when I put in my battery’s it had already been tuned into all the stations I know that from the others I have bought you tune in yourself all the station I got In touch with Amazon saying this radio was not new that it was already tuned into all the stations and that it wasn’t brand new it was second hand as someone had already had this radio tuned it in and returned back to amazon because they didn’t want it.
I got in touch with Roberts head office they assured me they do not tune in any radios when you buy the radio you tune in yourself I had told them mine was already tuned into all the stations that’s why I contacted them.
they said someone had already had that radio if it was tuned into stations and retuned it to Amazon

So to me my radio was not brand new felt cheated whoever had this radio shame on you for doing that I reset it to factory settings. was going to return it but couldn’t be bothered Sorry Amazon you didn’t help me with this one you kept telling me it was brand new and that Roberts maybe had tuned the radio at the factory was not true shame on you too for doing that to me.

I bought this as a radio for my bedroom. Its simple enough to set up, the sound is nice, it has quite basic features compared to some digital radios, but my needs were quite basic (I listen to Radio 3, 4 & 6) so its all good for me. I believe it can operate as a clock radio but I have’t got that far with it. I’m happy with my purchase

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersIt looks lovely and its sound quality is fine unless you are really picky, but suddenly there’s no sound despite everything looking to be working. Contacted the manufacturer and they were very pleasant and responsive. While I was packing the radio to send away for repair, I decided it’d be prudent to try and see if it works one more time, and lo and behold, it was working again and it’s been working ever since. I sleep better now knowing that there is a responsible manufacturer behind the product even if something goes awry. It’s a good product and it’s a good company.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI purchased this as a replacement for an 8 year old Roberts “Revival” Radio that stopped working. In faiirness, it was in the kitchen and suffered some minor abuse oover the years. This Roberts “Rambler” replacement has a smaller footprint and makes a decent subsitute for the prior unit. But the sound quality is mediocre and the controls are not particularly user friendly. This might have something to do with cramming tuning, presets and other controls into a relatively small area. However, reception in the DAB mode is quite good and the case has an attractive look. All in all, a reasonable unit that serves the purpose. But with some speaker fidelity improvements, it could have been very good.
