I am not particularly “tech savvy” but once I had the hang of the instructions, it all became very clear. This clock is for use in the bedroom and I successfully set the time, the alarm, my preset programmes and my favourites so that I don’t have to scroll through dozens of DAB stations, and my preferred setting of bass and treble. Once I had set the latter, the sound is excellent. The radio itself is very good looking, and surprisingly small for such a good performance. I use the AC mains plug, so cannot comment on battery usage. Oh, and the LCD display is very clear and easy to read. I dare say this radio has other attributes, but I am all for the simple life and I have set up what I need!
Love this little Roberts Radio! I have one already in the regular size (which I’ve had for over 10 years). Bought this additional one, but didn’t realise that it’s a little smaller – but it’s actually rather nice and neat. Fabulous brand, great quality and looks super too.
Good radio
Poor using rechargeable battery’s
Run out quickly with these 4 x AA ‘S
Broke the aerial while turning it upside down to change batteries,
Contacted roberts to purchase new one never heard such rubbish in all my life speaking to them regarding buying spare parts from them,
I thought they were a quality company
Bought this radio as a Christmas Present for my fiance and she absolutely loves it. Great sound quality and very easy to set up. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top quality DAB radio.
Bought as a Christmas present, very pleased, super sound and looks a trea
We already have several Roberts radios in the house of various ages, but this one is a hit with my daughter!
Use Eneloop AA rechargeable batteries last about a week including use of Bluetooth.
Sound rich and clea
Superb sound just the right size for our kitchen and looks grea
literature said base & treble options, but could’nt find any. Sound is quite ‘base’ heavy.
Loved the size and the sound from it is brillia
For my friend summer bungalow as they don’t use a televisio
This is a super little radio, a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but the sound is excellent. Easy to use. I deducted one star because it is very expensive.
Such a great little radio ….. So glad I took a risk buying one ….. It’s so handy and retro looking …. Just as good as the pictures. Sound quality is great (for me)…. Picks up stations well too
This delightful little ‘retro’ radio now sits on my kitchen counter giving me a beautiful sound experience. I’m no expert but the sound quality is nice and ‘rich’ for such a small radio. All my favourite stations simply assed. I’m more than pleased!
Everything I expected of Roberts and more! Easy to use, good sound and the quality of the radio is excellent. Battery life not checked as yet. Very happy with the Uno!!
I love this little radio, it’s exactly what I expected from a Roberts radio. Sound is good for me, lots of digital radio stations found immediately. Love the various colours you can get, I got the pink one (for the wife). Roberts radios are a little more expensive but I really think they are worth i
I love the colour. I am into reds. The sound qualuty is good. My grandson done his bes to twist the antennae but so far failed to break it off. That is good!
This looks lovely with my new cream bedroom furniture. I listen to Radio 2 most mornings but once I start to move around signal goes and it sounds like I am in Base Camp Everest in a highwind. Dissppointing.
This model has good sound quality and tuning is easy.
Although a lot smaller than the last Roberts i bought over twenty years ago,
I suppose it’s a bit like wagon wheels are smaller now although they won’t
Admit it !!.
The radio stopped working after 3 months, but was replaced by makers immediately and new one is perfect. Neat, nice colour and tone.
I looked at a lot of options for DAB radios but I’ve had Roberts before and know how good their reputation and quality is so in the end this was a no brainer. Quality, sound and ease of use is second to none. Various colours available which is always a bonus.
his was a birthday gift to me , and i have to say i wasn’t disappointed , beautiful colour , great sound and also will be a beautiful hand me down for decades to come …worth the money if a little more than most radios
I have just received my new Roberts radio so now learning to use the controls and to change to slightly more treble than what was set. Delivered on time was well packed and in pristine condition. I chose the dove grey, the outer casing of a quality of what looks like a good faux leather. Light weight with carrier handle, user book and guarantee and the usual connections.
I have waited a long time for this little gem so I hope I will continue to be happy with the purchase.
Good product to have playing around the house, best to use with the power lead, unless you want to change the batteries every two weeks!
Once you’ve read the instruction manual on how to set up and use, it’s a doddle.
Keep it up Roberts.
I love the design. Its easy to navigate. I find the tone a little deep for my liking. It maybe that it can be altered, but I haven’t discovered how to do that yet! I haven’t tried the sleep mode as I am using it the kitchen. A good quality radio.
Only draw back is batteries don’t last long as they are small ones and you then need to plug it in. My old radio used to charge up but this needs to be plugged i
I bought this to replace my well old used Roberts, but still working. The case like many other owners was peeling very badly. Its half the size of my previous one, but just as powerful. Didnt go for the one with bluetooth. Just basic. So far i am very pleased with it, easy to tune in as well. Lovely colours as well so wont lose it.
My wife wanted one for Christmas so I obliged. The setting up is so easy, just press scan and a few minutes later, just select the station you want. The sound quality is lovely and rich even though the bit rate of the majority of DAB stations in the UK is quite low. It’s the old adage, you pay for what you get… a lovely rich sounding radio
Haven’t encountered such a small unit making such a rich sound , I’d forgotten how good sound should be from a radio ! To the point of wondering if I should use the EQ to make it sound more like I’m used to ,….. awesome quality – you get what you pay for.
I’m very taken indeed with this Roberts Revival Uno Compact radio. It is a little smaller than I expected, though that is convenient; and the duck egg colour doesn’t seem light blue to me, more light grey. Yet it is a really superb radio, beautiful sound, DAB quality is excellent, and it has a realistic sound for music and the human voice that belies its smallish size. (Treble-bass can be altered if one wishes, though I’m happy with the default settings). Comparing it to my (very) old and larger Grundig Music Boy, the orchestral or jazz music sounds are richer and more distinct in this Roberts; it is if one can hear the different instruments more separately in their own right. The timbre and personality of the human voice comes across superbly. It is a real pleasure to listen to. I’m delighted that it is made in the UK. It took me a little patience to set up, but the controls, presets, ‘favorites’ etc. are very well thought out and organised and it is easy to use. I’ll probably buy another now for another part of my house, though in a more lively colour.
Great little quality radio with that wonderful retro look. Once it is all tuned in automatically being able to select your 4 or 5, or however many you want, favourite stations so you can just flick through them and not have to go through all the other stations is a great idea.
Sometimes struggle with the tuning goes in and out of the station I’m listening too but could have something to do where is positioned in the house!!! sound quality is very good though great listening experience
What a brilliant wee piece of kit! I had one of the full size versions of this radio back in the ’60s. They were good then and have stood the test of time! Some may consider it to be a bit pricey, but I believe it is money well spent on a timeless classic.
Slightly smaller than expected but light and portable. Good clear sound. All features as described and seems to be well made with a good finish and carry handle. Mains and battery option (4x AA required)..
There is a comprehensive owner’s handbook. This Roberts radio was expensive and I shall expect it to last several years. First impressions are good and the product is as advertised, including the purple colour..
Update 20 Nov2020. This radio seems to require Duracell Batteries to work on the battery power option. Other batteries tried did not work. The instructions simply say AA batteries are required.
Lovely little radio. I bought this to replace an older Pure DAB radio, which I was always very happy with, but it wasn’t until my new Roberts Radio arrived that I realised what I’ve been missing all these years. The difference is amazing, like changing from a 10 year old Toyota car to a brand new Lexus. I chose the teal blue colour from the impressively extensive range, and it looks amazing. Much nicer than the standard grey or black that most electrical items come in these days. The radio itself is very well crafted from good quality materials, it’s reasonably straight forward to use, and the sound quality is superb. Even better than my B&O stereo in terms of sound, and the build quality is as good as if not better. Very very pleased with this radio, and it’s well worth the money. It’s a lot to pay for a radio compared to others on sale for less, but the high quality makes it very good value for what you actually get, which is a very decent bit of kit that feels like it will last a lifetime. Highly recommended. It really is the Lexus of radios.
I love this. The powers amazing sound quality amazing. Lil disappointed have to go to the dearer models to get a USB port. But that’s nothing major. Runs well off batteries but is a lil power hungry. But with the quality of sound I am not suprised.
Roberts radios are a well established brand with a reputation for quality, so I expect this to be as good as others I’ve had in the past. It is really attractive, extremely solid and sturdy, with no sense of skimping on material or finish. Some people may dislike the slightly brassy look of the control panel but because it is designed to look ‘vintage’ I like it. My other one (almost the same) has no signs at all of wear on this panel after several years, nor on the ‘leather’ covering. Yes, it’s an expensive item, for a radio, but I think it’s worth it, and I have no hesitation in recommending it. Arrived early in delivery window.
Really good tone for a small portable, but if your slightly hard of hearing you might appreciate a little more treble , but for ordinary folks it’s probably just about right , an excellent full bodied sound for something only 19 cm x 12 cm x 9cm ( 7.5″x 5″x 3.5″) approx ..mine has a light grey leather like finish with gold trim , all in all a nice looking retro style portable radio…It has an auxiliary input for playing from your Phone or iPad/pod a 3.5 headphone socket, you will need a 3.5 x 3.5 jack lead to play from the 3.5 auxiliary output…I has one fault for a portable ..You have to use 4 AA batteries if you move far from a power socket ..It really should have an on board rechargeable battery as an optional extra , that type of rechargeable battery is expensive but well worth it to be truly portable because 4 AA’s won’t last all that long , though I haven’t tried it …But all in all an excellent and smart looking radio..I’m really pleased with my purchase.
I usually buy a present for my Nan and it never, ever, ever get’s used.
She either doesnt use it out of misunderstanding or she forgets about it.
That was until the Roberts Revical Radio!
My Nan find this radio easy to use and I’ve heard the quality, it’s not bad at all!
I find this to be an excellent gift for people who don’t know there way around tech and could do with a little background noise to fill a quiet enviroment.
It’s so tiny…? Why so small? It’s half the size of the one I bought my partner. (But as expensive).
It does the job but if you’re going to buy a classic product then part of the pleasure is the look of it. It feels too small to have any reasonable impact. Disappointed
Amazing compact Robert’s radio It has a brilliant sound and high volume if needed Often even with aerial down you get great sound and many stations but to get some dab channels you need aerial up We use rechargeable batteries and it is fine Our bathroom is teal colours and it is perfect match colour wise Very portable with carry strap You can get huge amount of stations and the radio also looks a very neat stylish design Amazing classy bit of ki
I purchased this radio for my little girls birthday in the light purple. The sound quality is super, rich and vibrant and it’s a better speaker for streaming music than many speakers made exclusively for that purpose. We listened to Beethovens 7th on R3 tonight and the sound was complex, the bass and inflections sounded gorgeous. I think this is an excellent radio, perfect quality and I think my daughter will enjoy it for years. I bought an iPhone 8 jack to lighting cable to connect Spotify.
NB. The colour is a dark lilac purple.
