I am not particularly “tech savvy” but once I had the hang of the instructions, it all became very clear. This clock is for use in the bedroom and I successfully set the time, the alarm, my preset programmes and my favourites so that I don’t have to scroll through dozens of DAB stations, and my preferred setting of bass and treble. Once I had set the latter, the sound is excellent. The radio itself is very good looking, and surprisingly small for such a good performance. I use the AC mains plug, so cannot comment on battery usage. Oh, and the LCD display is very clear and easy to read. I dare say this radio has other attributes, but I am all for the simple life and I have set up what I need!
Love this little Roberts Radio! I have one already in the regular size (which I’ve had for over 10 years). Bought this additional one, but didn’t realise that it’s a little smaller – but it’s actually rather nice and neat. Fabulous brand, great quality and looks super too.
Good radio
Poor using rechargeable battery’s
Run out quickly with these 4 x AA ‘S
Broke the aerial while turning it upside down to change batteries,
Contacted roberts to purchase new one never heard such rubbish in all my life speaking to them regarding buying spare parts from them,
I thought they were a quality company
Sound rich and clea
Superb sound just the right size for our kitchen and looks grea
literature said base & treble options, but could’nt find any. Sound is quite ‘base’ heavy.
Loved the size and the sound from it is brillia
For my friend summer bungalow as they don’t use a televisio
This is a super little radio, a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but the sound is excellent. Easy to use. I deducted one star because it is very expensive.
Such a great little radio ….. So glad I took a risk buying one ….. It’s so handy and retro looking …. Just as good as the pictures. Sound quality is great (for me)…. Picks up stations well too
This looks lovely with my new cream bedroom furniture. I listen to Radio 2 most mornings but once I start to move around signal goes and it sounds like I am in Base Camp Everest in a highwind. Dissppointing.
The radio stopped working after 3 months, but was replaced by makers immediately and new one is perfect. Neat, nice colour and tone.
I have just received my new Roberts radio so now learning to use the controls and to change to slightly more treble than what was set. Delivered on time was well packed and in pristine condition. I chose the dove grey, the outer casing of a quality of what looks like a good faux leather. Light weight with carrier handle, user book and guarantee and the usual connections.
I have waited a long time for this little gem so I hope I will continue to be happy with the purchase.
I love the design. Its easy to navigate. I find the tone a little deep for my liking. It maybe that it can be altered, but I haven’t discovered how to do that yet! I haven’t tried the sleep mode as I am using it the kitchen. A good quality radio.
My wife wanted one for Christmas so I obliged. The setting up is so easy, just press scan and a few minutes later, just select the station you want. The sound quality is lovely and rich even though the bit rate of the majority of DAB stations in the UK is quite low. It’s the old adage, you pay for what you get… a lovely rich sounding radio
I’m very taken indeed with this Roberts Revival Uno Compact radio. It is a little smaller than I expected, though that is convenient; and the duck egg colour doesn’t seem light blue to me, more light grey. Yet it is a really superb radio, beautiful sound, DAB quality is excellent, and it has a realistic sound for music and the human voice that belies its smallish size. (Treble-bass can be altered if one wishes, though I’m happy with the default settings). Comparing it to my (very) old and larger Grundig Music Boy, the orchestral or jazz music sounds are richer and more distinct in this Roberts; it is if one can hear the different instruments more separately in their own right. The timbre and personality of the human voice comes across superbly. It is a real pleasure to listen to. I’m delighted that it is made in the UK. It took me a little patience to set up, but the controls, presets, ‘favorites’ etc. are very well thought out and organised and it is easy to use. I’ll probably buy another now for another part of my house, though in a more lively colour.
There is a comprehensive owner’s handbook. This Roberts radio was expensive and I shall expect it to last several years. First impressions are good and the product is as advertised, including the purple colour..
Update 20 Nov2020. This radio seems to require Duracell Batteries to work on the battery power option. Other batteries tried did not work. The instructions simply say AA batteries are required.
