It constantly draws water. The mould appears to be reducing. Small enough for corners and behind furniture.
It’s lightweight and quiet, and as soon as it was plugged in it started to collect moisture.
Definitely does what it says on the box and would recommend.
This is a really great compact product. It has helped enormously in getting rid of condensation in my sons’ small bedroom. Water used to pour down the walls in the cold weather and mould would appear. I use this daily on both the dehumidifier and air purifier settings. The only downside is that you can not have it just on the dehumidifier. The air purifier blows quite cool air so, it’s great in the summer but can be a little cold in the winter. I would still recommend this product as it’s not too big and can easily fit in the corner of a room without being noticed. Also, the main reason is that it takes away all the moisture.
I used it daily for about 2 weeks due to condensation everywhere and mold forming. Within these 2 weeks the tank was almost full proving that this worked. After 2 weeks less and less water was filling up and no condensation on the windows and the mold was completely gone.
A nice unit that not only dehumidifies, but will clean the air of fluff and dust too. Note that you can only select one function at a time! This review is for the dehumidifier as I’ve not yet finished with it dehumidifying yet.
Having had an internal wall built and plastered, I needed something to help dry out the new room, ready for decorating and furnishing. I didn’t need anything big or expensive and during a search on Amazon, this popped up!
It ticked all the right boxes and the Russell Hobbs brand is normally solid. It’s been working non-stop for about five days but only fills the water tray to 300ml per day, NOT the 750ml claimed!
To fill to the claimed level, the air must be ringing wet, perhaps in a laundry room?
The registration information sheet that comes with the unit, tells you to register the product within 28 days, to gain a second years guarantee. It also implies on the RH website that a photograph of the receipt is necessary…it isn’t, and the serial number too – which I’m not sure I found as the designation (S/No) wasn’t marked!
On completing the registration, I only had the option of clicking one of two boxes. Box one was for the standard one year guarantee and the second box was to PAY 14.99 for the SECOND years guarantee! No other option!
DON’T DO IT, just select the standard one year’s guarantee, and confirmation of the second years guarantee will be sent to the email address you supplied!
So far I’m happy with it…it’s working okay, but I do wish that it would EXTRACT the full 750ml per 24hrs and not just absorb some! However, it’s reasonably priced and cheap to run (47watts per hour @ max), so it’s a keeper.
Absolutely fab. Noise level is fine dont notice it unless on high then its no bother. Easy to move as light weight. Easy to empty collects 400ml per session and turns off when full. Love it worth every penny.
Stopped working within weeks. Unable to return. Started making a terrible noise and unable to turn off without unplugging. Used to be a reliable brand name but on investigation being used under license. DO NOT BUY.
Sleek black look. Fits in great. Three levels so you can adjust to noise/moisture surroundings.
Not silent but you get used to it, works wonders keeping my room from getting too humid.
In the winter I have to dry my washing in my spare bedroom which results in condensation and some black mould. Since I bought this small dehumidifier the situation has vastly improved and everything has dried far more quickly. It seems to be very economical on electricity too which is a real bonus.
First of all I dislike the blue light as it’s used in the bedroom where I like total darkness. Otherwise it collects plenty of water and the filter helped my sinuses greatly. I do switch it off at night as it’s not the quietest but, still helps me and don’t have half as much condensation on the windows in winter!
This will not match a compressor dehumidifier but the purpose it was bought for was to stop water and mold from building up on a bedroom window sill. For that it works fine. It collects around half a litre a week (two empties). I had no expectations that it would come close to the advertised 600ml per day, but it does the job.
If you want something to keep a house or flat damp free, then buy a compressor dehumidifier that will easily pull 2+ litres a day, and cost a bit to run. If you have a small damp problem in a small room, then this will fit the bill. Cheap to run, very quiet (easy to sleep through), and should stop any damp from building up.
There are a lot of reviews of small dehumidifiers stating that they struggle to remove moisture from spaces. I’m happy to say that my flat is significantly less damp since purchasing this. Also, my clothes actually air dry fully, now.
Our boiler was replaced and its heating output via radiators is phenomenal. We used one room to dry cloths because of the recent cold weather. So moisture has to uo somewhere.
We put this on and I was astonished how much moisture there actually was in the room. It does exactly what it says it does. The ro felt dryer and the air quality did also feel better.
Don’t be put off by the 1l container. This product is superb.
The dehumidifier has done a good job at reducing the humidity of the room.
As for the purifying aspect, I can tell you it certainly removes the smell of farts, but has a lesser effect on dust, but still an effect.
Excellent! This takes so much moisture out of the atmosphere in a room we are going to get another for the bedroom. No more condensation so it is very good for our heath.
Good Will well made A little noise on the higher settings. Certainly pulling water out of the air have it in a mid size bedroom and it clears circa 500 ml a day wish I had got a bigger one and will
When the package containing this dehumidifier arrived, I was quite surprised by how small it was and immediately thought that there was no way this would be up to the job of keeping my bedroom free from excess condensation. However, I was wrong. Since switching it on the bedroom windows have remained free from condensation whereas previously they were dripping. There is one caveat, this product is for small spaces only and would not be an appropriate choice for large rooms. Thus, if you need a dehumidifier for a small room then I am happy to recommend the Russell Hobbs RHDH1061G.
The only question I have is does it dry clothes
It does collect a lot of water I’m pleased about but what if I put it with an Airer with clothes
Nice & quiet, nice small discreet machine
Im always impressed at how much water it pulls out of the air when the room doesn’t even seem damp
A must have if you’re being more mindful with heating during this energy crisis
Has made a significant difference to the bedroom. I was cautious because of the reviews. The plunge into buying it was worth it. Good for a small bedroom. Can sleep with it in low. The only thing I’d like to be able to do is turn off the blue led. There probably is a way I just didn’t read the instructions. Managed to do so
Product works well, I keep it on medium when I’m not in the room because it’s loud and low when I am in the room. It’s definitely audible on low but I can still hear my own thoughts and the TV. Personally don’t mind sleeping with the fan noise on low, can see how the noise would bother some at night.
Not a huge output from the machine but it does the job to keep a small room free of damp
We got this for the babys room as we have a damp house. This is perfect for a small room with bad damp or any sized room with slight damp issues. Its not too strong so doesn’t dry out the room. It takes around 4 days for ours to fill up which I think is fine considering its small and we have a lot of damp. Its easy to empty and small enough to sit on his chest of drawers and looks pretty stylish. Overall I love it and will buy again in future.
I have asthma and have been having some real problems this winter. I’ve had air purifiers before but hadn’t had one in the past few years. I decided, after hours of research and looking on different shops and sites, to just go for it and went with this one.
I have found that the air quality in my bedroom definitely improved from the start. It seemed fresher and my breathing was better. The dehumidifier hasn’t been used as much yet but it does work. I’ve placed it on my windowsill and it helps with any damp there and collects the water. Very easy to empty.
It is so simple to use. I do find that it is kind of noisy? But nothing that I can’t ignore after a minute. I do turn if off at times if it’s bothersome but it’s not enough to detract from how well it works.
*I will update if I remember when the summer comes. I struggle with humidity so that will be the real test for me. So far so good though.
Great product nice looking and on low isn’t to loud I keep it on over night and I’m able to sleep.
Any higher would definitely be too noisy.
I would of given 5 stars but it doesn’t allow the option to just be a dehumidifier.
It’s isn’t a big deal though because both work well together but it would of been nice to have that option as I brought it to use as a dehumidifier. Saying that the air purifier will be great for my hayfever in the summer so it’s good that the dehumidifier can be turned off.
Easy to use and the light is a nice touch especially at night so it’s good you are able to turn it off during the day.
