Excellent. I bought the lawnmower, hedge trimmer and garden strummer. I was able to cut quite a large hedge, and mow lawn and strum albeit not a large lawn, with still some battery life left. Recommend for anyone with smaller gardens

The mower and strimmer arrived on time and in good condition. It was easy to assemble and there were no problems with the batteries, which charged correctly. Before using the mower, it is a good idea to read the instructions as there are two modes: grass collection or mulching.

I got this to replace an old corded mower that had packed up. Not having a cord to trip over makes mowing a lot easier.

It mows well, doesn’t way too much even with the battery in, and one battery charge is enough to do the whole lawn and trim the edges too.

I ordered more for convenience (small garden, downsizing of mower, going cordless) than performance, but I got both.

I can mow the back lawn (25 M sq) twice for neatness, then edge with the strimmer, on about half a battery charge.

Products are well made, sturdy, easy to assemble, neat to store, and perform equally as well as my previous corded versions.

    Highly recommended.

We were a little sceptical about buying this due to it being battery powered and a couple of negative reviews, however we are so impressed with it! We had a Flymo which was brilliant however it was so heavy it has become unusable as I can’t lift heavy weights and hubby has health issues. We have a front and back lawn and the mower tackles both of them and there’s enough power in the battery to use the strimmer. Though I would advise buying a 2nd battery as a backup, and you will have to get used to the mower being so light (it is joyous for me with my arthritis!). Love the fact the batteries are interchangeable and you can buy spares with chargers. Would recommend this for anyone with small lawns and health issues, it just .. works!

Spent ages looking at reviews on different cordless lawnmowers from high end to budget and to be honest this confused me even more.
In the end I decided to pay a little bit more and went with the Ryobi lawnmower/strimmer deal, plus the wife liked the colour!
Took minutes to assemble and even though the battery wasn’t fully charged I gave it a go. And I can safely say I very happy I spent the money. It’s lightweight, easy to manoeuvre (even for the wife). It cuts really well and bags the cuttings better than my last lawnmower. We have quite a large area of grass but even on 1 bar of battery it managed to last for at least 1/3 of it . Best lawnmower I’ve ever bought and would highly recommend it.

have a fairly small lawn and it coped well – very manoeuvrable and light my only gripe is battery last for approx 15mins so took 3 charges to cut my initially fairly long patchy grass. Once done it should be much quicker and maybe I can manage with 2 charges but overall I’m happy – battery as opposed to electric cable is a lot simpler so I can cope with recharging battery

Mower cuts the grass very good and isn’t noisy like the corded mowers. However, 3 slight problems are 1) mulcher is hard to fit and stay in place, 2) lever to higher/lower the blade is very hard to move & 3) only one battery for both the mower & strimmer isn’t sufficient enough as battery runs out before I finished.

Both items are of good build quality the battery lasts a decent time on the strimmer but goes flat quickly on the mower it probably needs the highter voltage battery although it does charge fairly quickly and as most things nowdays the instructions are very minimal and poor there are a few small parts that took me a while to work out where they went or what they are fo

we bought this after having bought our house and the grass hadn’t been cut for about 6 weeks or so. in the thick long grass, the Lawnmower would bog down and slow down with a few complete stops and i was using the 5.0Ah Battery (fully Charged) but once I had given it a cut on the highest setting (5) to reduce the height and thickness of the grass and then went back over it on a 2 it then cut it fast and clean.
This Mower is more for the regular cut than leaving it for a long time.

the Strimmer performed amazingly and even has an edging angle.

The Ryobi 18V Cordless Lawnmower and Grass Trimmer Kit is a powerful duo for lawn care. The cordless lawnmower offers freedom of movement with a long-lasting 4.0Ah battery. The trimmer is efficient for hard-to-reach areas. Sturdy build quality and shared battery add convenience. While the lawnmower struggles with dense grass, overall, it’s an excellent investment for efficient lawn maintenance.

Now while ryobi might not be the best tools in the world, as tools go these are possibly their best. I have bought one of the mowers about 2 years ago still going strong . So have bought this set for holiday van. Better value than 2 years ago would recommend this set to anyone.

Have a relatively small back and front garden. Have had petrol, manual and corded lawnmowers. This set is by far the best. Battery charges quickly and is enough to cut front and back then do edges with strimmer.

The battery makes it far easier too.

Great product, light and easy to use. One slight downside is battery life whilst using, slightly less than advertised which can be frustrating so I would recommend purchasing a 2nd battery to be on the safe side

I will admit to being a bit apprehensive as to whether a lawnmower could be powered by a large drill battery but, it can.
Now I will say that this product will struggle if your lawn is not regularly maintained, I moved house and had to sell my electric one and due to no shed space for a while my grass got a bit wild…..
Both the mower and strimmer did a great job but because the lawn was overgrown the battery depleted rapidly.
With a maintained lawn I can do a cut on one battery.

I ordered a spare battery but I did not realise it was a “knock off” version and it did not work nor was it compatible with the Ryobi charger.
I would recommend a spare battery but they are expensive at around 80 so you need to weigh that one up.

Both mower and strimmer are lightweight yet robust and easy to use out of the box.

In summary, if you have a small to medium garden in good condition this will suit well, if you have a large or overgrown garden I think you would be better with petrol models unless you want to spend a lot of time waiting between charges.

Don’t buy if you don’t have thick gloves! The battery vibrations are horrendous and it nearly shook off my fingers! The strimmer is fine but the placement of the battery makes for painful use and for me the mower was not as good as I expected but it works if your grass is manageable height!

Easily cut my large lawn in one charge, a great little strimmer. I word of advice, I definitely would purchase the 5.0Ah battery as the 4.0 ran out quickly.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a pretty decent price for what you get.
The battery and charger are supplied so you have everything in the box to start trimming the lawn (a lot of Ryobi products are bare tools so you have to buy a seperate battery and charger)
    The strimmer:
the handle comes as two pieces you have put a large amount of force on to get the little stud to clip to make it one piece. The guard is in the lawnmower trimmings bag and has to be secured into place with screws.
The strimmer does a pretty good job. Only issues with it are you can’t pivot the head so it only cuts on a flat plane and the strimmer wire, while easy to feed more out, is a pain with snapping of you get slightly too close to something hard such as brick work.
    The lawn mower:
Instructions aren’t great on how to assemble but there’s only a few bolts and an isolator switch to install so all pretty easy to work out with out instructions
The mowers light weight and leaves the lawn with a nice finish.
I cut my back lawn way quicker than it takes with a corded mower.
The front lawn, that’s where things fell down a bit. As the grass hadn’t been cut for a while it was quite long and thick.
The battery at this point was clearly not at its full strength so the blades kept clogging with the grass which involved me having to pull the grass out of the blades and take the battery out and put it back in again to be able to start it back up.
Battery: charged quick but, I used my 5.0 battery from my existing tools which is more powerful and holds more charge and this still ran out before the job was done. I would invest in a second battery if you intend on strumming and cutting your lawn in one go with out having to wait and hour for the battery to charge

If you have some other Ryobi tools, batteries and chargers, perhaps some 5.0Ah batteries, you won’t worry too much about battery life, or time to recharge, for the small mower, which is great for small lawns. The 4.0Ah battery that comes in this set might be best for the strimmer. You can swap the line type strimmer for a plastic blade type option, sold separately (Ryobi – Double Serrated Blade Head).

We have a small lawn and it does the trick. However we also have a larger space elsewhere and after about 10 minutes with moderate grass length the battery dies. I would recommend buying extra batteries.

It does make a big difference in that there isn’t the messing about with wires everywhere. Be warned though – this may lead to you cutting your lawn more and less excuses not to do it !

Received, put together, charged battery, then mowed the lawn for 15mins before the battery died. Battery placed back on charge, 3 hours later the battery was still flashing red – Amazon courier sent to collect the next day, bit turned up in a small car where the mower wouldn’t fit in it.
Courier arranged again for tomorrow, hopefully with a van – what this space………

Arrived quickly, well packaged, fairly easy to assemble.
I realised as I unpacked the mower that it was not up to the job required.
It was too feeble for the garden and therefore It was never used.
No rear roller and not heavy enough to create the smart lines on the lawn.
Probably ok for small bits of grass. the strimmer was of the same light weight construction.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAbsolutely amazed with this product, I have two small gardens front & back, I also got a extra battery 5ah which I used with the lawn mower then the grass trimmer & then for the tidy up the leaf blower & only used 50% of the battery,
The mower is light weight & cut the grass better than my flymo did, also folds away nicely in my small shed
Highly recommended can’t wait for the grass to grow again.

After reading many reviews about performance I finally took a risk on this. So far I am not disappointed.

It comes collapsed and is easy to assemble in about 10 mins. The Grass Trimmer feels flimsy but also nice and lightweight. This requires a Phillips screwdriver to attach the guard.

The lawnmower itself is very light which is something I was looking for as I had to lug my old one up several steps.

I pre charged the battery which takes around an hour using the intelligent charger base. Then went out to give it a run.

My lawn wasn’t long. I cut it around a month ago so it was starting to look like it needed trimming again. The back lawn itself is 6m x 9m; So fairly average I’m guessing.

At first I thought I had a faulty mower as I pressed the trigger and the mower made a bit of a whiring noise then stopped. Then I tried tilting it back a little which worked. I’m guessing as it’s battery you need to give in 2 to 3 seconds to spin before lowering it. After that I had no issues.

The cutting power of the solid metal blade is great. The trim of the grass is level and the attached grass box picked up without any issues leaving no mess behind.

The Ryobi mower is really light to push which made the job much quicker than with my previous qualcast wired mower.

Battery life. Well.. I got 3/4 of the way through before an audible change of pace happened and the 4ah battery had depleted. Luckily I have other Ryobi Tools so attached a spare 2ah Battery which allowed me to complete the remaining 1/4 of the lawn. Worth bearing in mind if you are buying this without other batteries to hand!

Changing the battery over took seconds so it’s not cumbersome at all, and I like the safety key feature to prevent accidents.

What used to take 40mins with setting up wires, extensions, dragging wires around and making sure you didn’t run over them now too around 20mins. So much quicker! So much lighter. I even did the front lawn in 10mins start to finish (getting the mower out of the garage and putting in the battery) in a race against the rain .

The free grass trimmer, whilst it feels cheap is actually really good! Again not having wires like on my old flymo one meant I had walked around the garden, trimmed the edges in under 5mins. Nice and lightweight and simple to use.

    Overall:

Pros: lightweight, good quality, great cut, TIME SAVING!!

Cons: Ideally you need a spare battery (Ryobi or aftermarket) – that is literally the only “Con” I can think of.

For 234 which I paid for this on offer price for both a mower and trimmer I am very pleased.

Lightweight, good cut for smaller gardens

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLightweight mower more suited to a smaller lawn. I don’t have a huge garden but the battery didn’t last long at all, I only managed to cut 3/4 before it needed recharging. I contacted the company and after a short time they replied. assembly instructions awful. Tiny sketches printed on toilet paper. No words. use the picture on the box. clogs up if the grass is slightly damp, and battery runs down quickly in a smallish garden. A spare battery would solve this. However the mower is light and easy to use and cuts quite well. Don’t expect a bowling green finish but it does the job. and best of all no cable to trip over or cut.

I really like Ryobi tools. This lawnmower is incredibly light and easy to use. It’s just not for large areas of unmaintained lawn – it’s ideal for smaller, shorter lawns that just need a bit of work every now and again. Same with the strimmer, it’s great for light duty weeds but just don’t expect to be able to clear overgrown plots of land! Having a single power supply is great (I’ve got sanders, this strimmer and lawn mower and a vacuum), the build quality is good and they do what they are designed to do.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy recently widowed mom needed something a lot lighter and easier than their old petrol mower, and a lot safer than their electric corded Flymo. (I can’t always be there to do the lawn for her)

This lawn mower and strimmer package arrived promptly and well packaged.
I would say 10 minutes to assemble the lawn mower and 5 for the strimmer, so nice and easy.

The battery came part charged so we put it on charge for an hour or so to fill it up to 100%.

We find putting the battery in the most nice and easy and the mower itself is an absolute breeze to use. My mother is over the moon with how light, easy, and quick the whole process of mowing the lawn now is.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was apprehensive at first being my first electric lawn mower but it’s great. My grass was fairly long and by the time I finished it filled up my green bin.
    Setup
Fairly easy even without the instructions.

    Cutting
The ryobi machine worked so well. Took a bit of practice to change the level but managed it fine, easy enough once you figured it out. Just have to take your time and not force it. It’s a good powerful machine compared to my old qualcast wired machine.

    Filling / emptying
Nice and easy similar to my old machine but the ryobi was much easier to tell when it’s full.

    Storage
Easy, loosen the side of the handles and flip the handle forward and place the grass collection box on top.

    Value for money
In my opinion it’s a good purchase. I will probably get one more battery as I managed to cut my grass and use the trimmer a little before the batter ran out. Considering a 5ah battery and charger.

I just hope it lasts as long as my previous wired qualcast.

Better then I expected! Easy to setup and use

The handles hurt my hands while operating.
The mulch thing can be difficult to install and the bag doesn’t close very well. I have a small garden but had to buy another battery to finish the job I am getting used to it now and have decided to keep it as it is a good height and light to use. Doesn’t hurt my back like the two hover mowers that are now redundant.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOver all this has turned out to be a great little machine. It’s battled it’s way through my very uneven lawn.

    Pros
    – Fairly easy to assemble even if the instructions are a guessing game.
    – Very lightweight
    – Decent pressure needed to start up, your kids aren’t gonna manage to accidentally set it off.
    – Great price for a rechargeable/wireless mower AND strummer
    – Fairly quiet.

    Cons
    – Can choke on grass if it’s on the longer side. Just tilt it slightly for the first go then go back over as normal. You’ll hear when the motor struggles.
    – The tilt to the grass net means it doesn’t fill as much as it could before you have to empty it.
    – HUNGRY! This little beast is power hungry. I’m gonna have to get some extra batteries if I want to do all my lawn in one day, especially if I want front and back. It managed about 1/3 of the back yard before another charge was needed.

Nifty machine but power hungry, get a spare battery!

We have a small back lawn and medium sized front lawn. Just about manage to get both lawns done on one charge if the grass isn’t too long.

If your grass is say two inches or so long, the motor may struggle so what I had to do is raise the wheels and do two passes, still easier than out old petrol mower which would do it in one.

Not great when the grass is damp, most people would probably benefit from an extra battery so you don’t get caught short. Really lightweight and a doddle to move about. If you mow your grass when you’re meant to before it gets too long you’ll have no issues at all.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was a bit dubious about buying this mower with some of the negative reviews, but after a lot of research the mower suited my needs best. I found it very easy to assemble and loved the sleek design. My grass was probably about 4 or 5 inches long and I was in two minds to use my old electric mower that I am replacing and thought well it would be a great test for the mower as the grass was a bit wet and quite long.
All I can say is what a fantastic bit of kit !!!! So happy with the results. I set the depth to 1 which is the shortest setting the mower struggled a little bit, but it was more from the grass being wet than a power issue. I changed the setting to 2 and it made mince meat out of the grass., back to 1 for a lovely finish.
The mower is very easy to use and lightweight but don’t let that put you off.
I used most of the battery but there was more than enough left in it to use the strimmer. Again a great bit of kit. I would say that the mower and the strimmer have done a better job of cutting the grass than my old electrical ones. I have only used once but I am very happy with the results. I would highly recommend.

    Fantastic mower and strimme

I’ve used the mower and strimmer a few times now and have to say I’m very impressed. After scouring the web to find the best for the money battery mower I’m confident I count have don’t better than this bundle.

I bought the Mower and strimmer that also came with a 4Ah battery and charger.

Out of the box the mower and strimmer were easy to assemble. The battery clips into both tools and releases very easily.

The mower is very light which makes it really easy to pick up and move around. I was concerned the mower would be too light as one other reviewer warned about, but honestly it’s not a problem at all. It has five cutting heights and has the option to collect or mulch the clippings. Battery life with the 4Ah is just about enough for what I need it for. I can easily cut around 100m and then strim the edges before running out of power.

The strimmer has a nice balance to it and it easy to use. The handle positions work well and the spool up time is very short.

Noise wise, both the mower and strimmer were quieter than expected, especially the mower.

Only gripes: height adjustment on the mower is a bit fiddly, and the sprung lid on the back that sits on the grass bin is annoying as you can’t just leave it open for cleaning.
