Does exactly what I needed it to do. No issues at all
Easy to install, good value, quality product & runs fine on the PS5 at 6500rpm. Bought with the heat sink.
I needed a heatsink and wanted one designed with the PS in mind rather than something more generic and this Sabrent one didn’t disappoint. I picked up a good deal on a Crucial NVME ssd and this works just fine with that keeping it cool. No complaints a few months down the line!
Easily fitted by someone who has no knowledge of these things. Well worth it.
Took less than 5 minutes to install and I only paid a tenner…
Don’t put the metal cover bk on the top…
Very very good build quality and absolute breeze to install.
The heatsink makes good contact with the SSD and covers a wide area, including storage controllers on most drives.
Excellent value.
Things move on quickly in Computers. These are no longer up to current speeds. Check out the WD SN850 and WD SN850X (Both available on Amazon) or hold off until the new Gen5 drives arrive.
It works. Does exactly what it is meant to do. Keeps my SSD nice and cool, at a very good price.
Perfect for non heatsink m.2 ssds that you put in the ps5.
Take note you need latest ps5 software, plus need to remove plastic covering on the blue ‘tabs’, these are for touching the ssd to grab its hea
Bought for my PS5, the extra storage is worth paying for, fast & easy to install. Sadly developed a fault, but this was easily sorted with a replacement sent from the USA. Great no hassle customer service.
Easy to fit.
Instructional videos available on line if you are unsure what to do.
Fantastic heatsink does exactly what I needed it to fits perfectly into my ps5 on top of my SSD (solid state drive) helps to keep the ps5 and SSD cool look no further this is an amazing heatsink
Purchased for a PS5, easy to install. Super fast performance.
Very nicely made, but it’s going to sit hidden away in my PS5, so that’s a bit wasted. Slightly expensive to produce it to this nice quality finish.
Took only a few minutes to install. Recommend a vacuum handy – my ps5 was filth inside! Gave it a good clean before fitting the memory. Switched ps5 on and it recognised it straight away. Moved games across without issue and all seem to play as quick as ever. Spot on 🙂
Easy to install after I got the side cover off my ps5 – that was the hardest part as I was needlessly worried I’d break it. Just undo the screw remove the metal cover and slot the ssd do in. Remove the tape from the replacement cover put it in where the original one was and put the side panel on – easy.
Seems as fast as the internal ssd.
Prior to this I had a Gammix S70Blade. No problems however with this the side of my PS5 gets hotter than ever. The read and write speeds are great though.
This SSD is a great upgrade for the ps5. Easy to install & loads of room for all my games on the ps5 now I have this installed. Not a cheap upgrade but I would say it’s good value compared to the competitors & package comes with a heat sink.
I purchased this item as I wanted extra storage on my ps5 and knew the m.2 drive was the best way to go.
Easy to install on my console, unclip the cover and 2 screws later it was done and ready to use. Handy to have when you want to save new games rather than have it on the console internal hdd
1TB for 160 for use with ps5 is a really attractive price if you want anything bigger say a 2 or 4TB it can get a bit expensive but overall its a good product highly reccomend the sabrent over other M.2 ssds if you are putting it into a ps5. stays cool because of its design, a must buy if you own a digital ps5.
If your a PS5 owner and looking for a heatsink for your new ssd expansion then look no further. This Sabrent heatsink is a great choice! It fits the Playstation 5 expansion slot like a glove. It’s super easy to install and comes with clear instructions. Once it’s physically installed your good to go, no firmware updates or formatting needed. It works with any brand ssd that you choose to go with, so not just the Sabrent brand.
So far the heatsink is doing its job perfectly. Before I got the Sabrent heatsink I was using a much cheaper type and whilst transferring a bunch of games im pretty sure it caused the ssd to overheat, initially it said 40mins left till complete the transfer, I checked back half hour later and it had changed to a crawling 99+ hours. Since getting this new heatsink installed iv tested the ssd with similar circumstances and it handled it all like a boss. Honestly, I was surprised how much of a difference it made. I am 100% recommending this product for anyone with a PS5 and planning a storage upgrade, it’s worth the little bit of extra cash to keep your ssd and PS5 running smoothly.
After extensive research i went for the sabrent m.2 memory with the heatsink. Super easy to install and the heatsink is a genius idea. U like others the heatsink fits in nicely to replace original case. The m.2 read straight away and formatted within seconds. Now all my ps5 games run faster and smoother and noticed loads times have dropped slightly. Best thing is now my ps5 runs cooler and quieter than before. If ur looking for extension to memory on ps5 dont hesitate and get this.
I was a bit hesitant about ordering this, as my knowledge and experience for installing an internal drive is zero.
I needn’t have worried, it was very easy and no one should worry about the ease of installation.
The drive arrives promptly, was very well packaged and with the heatsink makes it good value compared with other products.
Works seamlessly with the PS5.
I can highly recommend this drive.
Got this instead of another model as the heat sink fits perfect on the PS5, the read and write speeds are not amazing but are ok to use with a PS5 I know its possible to update the firmware but didnt want to mess about. Took time to realise the m.2 fits under the PS5 and its very simple to install. If you need search youtube and a guy installs the small m.2 into his PS5.
Having basically the technical skill of a dead sparrow I was apprehensive about buying this but after watching the little video supplied on Amazon with this item I thought why not.
After removing the base plate (the one with the disc drive) you simply remove the 2 screws, pop in the memory and screw both screws back in.
Once the PS5 powers up you get a message asking to format the drive, once done I transferred a few PS5 games and played off it as normal, the whole process took a couple of minutes.even dead sparrows can clearly do things right!!
A bit expensive really for what it is but as storage is SO small you really need this.
It takes far longer to move files from Sabrent SSD to PS5 SSD. That goes to show that the write speeds are much faster on the Sabrent. Best drive in the market with heatsink combination. You definitely need a heatsink to prevent throttling and for it to last longer.
I’ve watched alot of videos online for the best ssd for the ps5 and the majority of them said the sabrent comes out on top each and every time. So I decided to get the 1tb ssd with heatsink combo, I was so worried about taking the side panel off the ps5 and breaking the pins off inside but being gentle I did it.
Now the installation was so easy just follow the instructions and away you go. One thing I will say tho don’t use the included screwdriver, it’s just not strong enough and you might strip the screw. So far so good top marks sabrent
Would I buy again… yes I would.
This is an excellent value product – BUT make sure you have updated your software first, I failed to do this and ended up having to do a full reset losing all the data on the original ssd.
Simple install if you follow the Sony tutorial video on the PlayStation website. Make sure to install the spacer under the ssd when fixing it back down.
1TB of storage. I’ve been playing all my games from this SSD device and had no issues at all on ps5. Easy to install with the help of an online tutorial if like me not sure and new to this sort of expansion. Looks a lot better than an external storage hanging around. No brainer for me.
This arrived well packaged. I got a Samsung 980 Pro to go with it.
Took me a while to get the PS5 open as I was very apprehensive, but once you have the knack it is straightforward.
The heatsink fits on too very well. But as you push it down it does feel like it is putting more pressure on the SSD than feels “right”. It wasn’t like it felt like it would snap the SSD but it did make me a little nervous and I had my fingers crossed when powering up the PS5. Thankfully it worked and the ssd was ready to use shortly after.
I understand that early versions of this came with the thermal layer separate and you had to place this between the ssd and sink yourself. Mine has the thermal later fixed to the sink. But it wasn’t the full length. My 980 Pro is one of the shorter SSDs. I’m not sure if there are any of the longer ones available yet for the PS5 but if you do get one, then be aware that the thermal layer on this sink will not cover the full surface of the SSD.
Very easy to install, with the thermal pad being attached to the underside of the plate. Once formatted, the PS5 shows the full 2TB as being available (this may be due to differing file formats, but the external SSD only shows 1.84TB, and the XSX 1TB expansion card only shows 920GB, so I consider that a bonus). Transferred one game from my internal storage which only took seconds, and downloaded another directly to the Sabrent drive without issue. The only problem seems to be trying to register the product on their website, which I can’t get to work for some reason. This is especially annoying since it is apparently required to get the 5 year warranty. I’ve contacted their customer service and am awaiting a response.
Bought this to extend my PS5 storage. As has been mentioned in previous comments, I also purchased this heatsink to go with it:
QIVYNSRY M.2 heatsink 2280
With this heatsink fitted it easily slots into the PS5 bay and the tray cover screws down easily.
Performance of this memory , as indicated by the PS5 test was 6500 gb/s, so plenty fast enough and probably one of the fastest you can get for your PS5.
Highly recommend this combination of heatsink and memory as an extension for the PS5.
Been using it for almost a month, run a lot of the games from the ssd, works perfectly. If anyone is interested I used a “Jonsbo M. 2 SSD Cooler – Grey” heatsink, 6 on overclockers and it fits perfectly into the slot for the ps5. Take your time to plan how to get it all connected, the tollerences are millimeters, but it does fit.
Would recommend for sure, managed to get it at a time when it was 70 cheaper than rrp.
When I upgraded to a gen 4 X570 motherboard at the end of 2020, I wanted to take advantage of PCI-E Gen 4 SSDs for video editing.
I now have a Seagate Firecuda 520 and a Samsung Evo drive in my system, but the first SSD I purchased for the system was the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus.
I am consistently getting read and write speeds over 6,000 MB/s. The endurance level is 1,400 TBW. A little higher than the 1,200 TBW you get in the equivalent Samsung Evo drives, but much lower than the 3,600 TBW in my Firecuda 520. Still, the endurance level should be ok for the video recording and editing I will be doing.
A five-year warranty is available for this drive if you register with Sabrent.
Didn’t test random writes. But, at random reads it’s going at 7.5GB/sec, and still around 5.5GB/sec when testing random reads with tiny files.
It’s oh-my-lawd levels of fast. So fast in fact, that you likely won’t even see its full benefit for most things. Right now for simple stuff like gaming, you’ll not see vastly improved loading times. It’s certainly novel for a Threadripper to be the bottleneck when loading applications.
Decompressing gigs of crap between two of these things on correctly-configured systems is insanity levels of fast. If time is money, consider a good Gen4 NVME to be an investment that will pay for itself, and these are definitely amongst the best.
