Pro’s (1) water proof (2) good grip on trails//grass (3) I am size 13 with a wide foot! Perfect fit for me (4) look good (5) very light for walking. Con’s (1) the tongue is very thin (2) the lace pocket is too long hard to grab to tuck in. But in all still a 4 star shoe, highly recommend.

La considero un’ottima tuttofare. Mi va bene sia per uso casual in citt sia per camminate in montagna (leggere). Le trovo comodissime fresche e protettive allo stesso tempo. Per me ottime.
Ich hatte bereits eines der Vorgngermodelle und hab hier wieder zugeschlagen! Super bequemer Schuh fr Alltag und leichte sportliche Aktivitt (z.B. wandern).
Vorsicht: Salomon schuhe fallen eher klein aus!
Bewertung zum Schuh:
Ich bin 44+ (im Sinne von “breiter Fu”) und habe mich goldrichtig fr den 44 2/3 entschieden. Zwischenzeitlich habe ich bemerkt, dass ich einen anderen Salamon mit 44 2/3 habe, also ja alles. Der Schuh ist schmal geschnitten (nicht nur vorne, sondern auch mittig), sitzt aber wie ein “exaktes Werkzeug” am Fu. Die Verarbeitungsqualitt gengt hchsten Ansprchen. Mir war “kein Goretex” fr den Sommer wichtig, denn die Fe mssen dringend atmen. Ab 20 C Auentemperatur stressen mich Goretex-Schuhe, da zu hei innen. Deshalb, wer einen Sommerschuh sucht, ist beim Salomon Sense Ride 4 richtig.

Confortable, mais se lace pas comme les autres modle , ces un peu gnant, grandeur c tait parfait beau souliers, la semelle fait un petit bruit , je me suis dit aprs aprs un mois a va partir , il vont amolir, mais j ai pas eu le temps des mettre beaucoup ,que la temprature a chang pour plus froid , je ferai un commentaire supplmentaire au printemps….ah oui souliers trs lger bien pour l t….
I loved how perfectly and quickly that they fit. I love the super easy and fast lacing and as a system it does not feel too tight here but too loose there. There is a finger tab to pull the tongue up with. The soles grip everything I could find and the steep downhills became pure joy.
They do not do wet, not even dewy grass. They are not made for mud unless thats all you want them for. The mesh filters dust, dirt, sand so that the shoes fill with only the fines that do get in. Too bad they were not designed for desert dry debris or deep sand. The ankle cuff doesn’t keep out the debris that the shoe treads pull up from whatever you are running on with each step. Dry grass pierces the shoe too and the seeds and debris finds all the many internal flaps and elastic edges to hide inside. Sand get into the insoles and will never all clean out.
I hope there is a new model in our future with lighter gore tex protection over the top of tongue so debris doesn’t fall into shoe and a heel pull tab
My old Sense Ride 3’s were my first real trail shoes and I loved them so much they ended up as my day shoe as well. Both pairs don’t put the little lace pocket in the right spot. Really supportive going down hill on firm trails and some roads. These version 4’s are less bouncy and the upper is so stiff it clicks when walking. Grip is the same just feeling a lot more jarring on roads in particular. I’ve thrown out my old 3’s so can’t compare but it seems the insole is thinner too. Changing that may fix them. Old one’s were great, these are just meh..
Very comfortable but it might be hard to find an optimal fit since this size is a tiny bit large but a size down would be tight. Just used it for a month so far and can’t comment on the wear although a friend’s shoe is tearing along the fabric. I’m a bit worried about the availability of Salomon branded laces if these were to get damaged. Also I’m not too confident on their performance on wet rocks. Overall so far I’m quite satisfied
Brilliant shoes for me personally! I came to Salomon after trying all the leading brands. And then never looked back. Sense Ride4 lived completely up to the expectations. Being a narrow shoe, it took a little bit of time to adapt to my wide feet. But now it feels like walking in the clouds! It’s only the lower grip that is a little thin as compare to other hiking shoes like XA3D pro but I guess it’s obvious that such a thick sole will defeat the purpose of a running shoe!

I had gone through 2 pairs of Salomon speedcross and this shoe is just so much better it feels like a different brand. The space in he box makes it very comfortable and the combination of weight and support is perfect. Shoe feels super light. There is plenty of proteccin both in the front of the shoe for those late miles when you start kicking rocks, as well as in the sole for the more technical terrain. The shoe breaths well and the grip is as good as it gets. Definitely a great shoe well worth the extra $20-30 bucks.
