great TV, clear picture, sound great with a sound bar of same make. only problem is access to the USB port at back of TV, in an awkward position. If i had known this before hand would not have purchased this TV as my other TV make is easy to get too., but i minor problem. Overhaul great value for money
My OH is delighted with this TV which he has had for a week. It was bought for his bedroom as he has disabilities and is often comfier in his bed. He loves the picture quality and features. We have just ordered a larger Samsung TV for downstairs to replace our current Samsung TV. We like the brand and wanted to have a Smart TV downstairs.
I have bought Samsung TV’s for some time. The quality of this one is excellent. I would advise a soundbar, to add depth. But overall great value for money. I was so impressed with the ability to use its wifi setting, great picture.
Samsung televisions are a brand I’ve always liked and this one is the biggest Ive ever bought. Its controls seem easy enough and the sound and picture is very good. Easy to assemble on my own. For the tech savvy it is probably easy but there are a few features like the Alexa I’ve yet to use.
Got this TV when my lad put a wayward ball toss through my old one. really happy with the tv which is light and thin for its size. The sound quality is ok but I linked it to my soundbar so never have to worry about that. The picture quality is amazing.
Great TV. However not straightforward to set up especially as I was installing it for a relative. Took ages to do so. However my relative is pleased with the TV
Very tinny sound and the manual with the TV does not give useful information on setting different sound levels with the sound equalizer.
Easy to set up
Poor sound
Not very bright
Drops connection to sound bar regularly
Sometime airplay direct to tv does not work
It’s an excellent panel for the money but …
… it would seem that’s because it’s effectively subsidised by ads and data-mining. For the time being I’ve decided not to even connect it to the internet because the ads and popups are insufferable (I’ll continue using my old Roku for subscriptions).
Be aware that Samsung have changed the picture settings, there is no ‘backlight’ control anymore, it’s now ‘brightness’ and the latter is now ‘shadow detail’ (with a much narrower range of adjustment). Completely gratuitous as far as I can see and undoubtedly confusing many owners.
As others have observed, the sound is so awful you have to wonder if it’s deliberate and intended to ‘encourage’ owners to buy more hardware (such as, I don’t know, a Samsung soundbar?).
Great TV, works well. Would benefit from a source button on the smart remote as interface is a little muddled. Sound quality is poor so would recommend a soundbar or simila
This is a great smart tv for it’s (discounted) price. Don’t expect miracles from it, like superb HDR or brightness as it costs far less than you would need to pay for those. But it’s still a great fit for occasional gaming and streaming.
Only big downside – it’s speakers. Weak, not well defined. If you try to raise volume higher than ~30 – nothing changes. Well enough for quiet rooms.
Smart features are excellent, being able to choose an assistant and not having to use bixby is a real bonus over previous gen. Picture quality is good but blacks and back-light aren’t good enough. Hard to watch dark scenes in films. Should have gone for the QLED versio
So much happier with this than our earlier purchase which had faults. The set up was good the picture and sound quality great. The set looks neat and modern. Downsides: stand was a bit clumsy looking so purchased a neater stand, had difficulty setting up Disney Plus despite the app being built in but got there in the end, no sockets for Wii console so had to purchase additional adaptor.
A good quality picture and decent sound,my freesat coupled perfectly and I connected my Samsung Blu-ray and Yamaha receiver and speakers without any problem through HDMI. All my equipment was sourced through Amazon and interaction between units is brilliant with my receiver info showing on screen whilst I listen to music. Watching Blu-ray is a truly immersive experience and the Samsung TV now sits in a very watchable position on its new Invision mount whilst I sit back using the excellent remotes supplied. A very happy Handy Man.
We needed to replace our old Samsung TV after an issue with a mysterious shape that appeared on it – like a cloud on all block colours. Bought this one and so glad we did.
It’s thin, and pretty light. The image is sharp and bright. We have it hooked up to a Samsung Soundbar which initially took some work – we had to sort out a weird audio delay that was happening. But all good now.
My only issue is the Smart Hub. I don’t like the fact you can’t remove all the apps you don’t want – like Rakuten. But that’s a small thing really. I do love that I can access all the movies I’ve purchased from iTunes directly from the interface.
Would highly recommend.
Brilliant TV, especially for the price. The TV itself is very thin, with a thin bezel and would look great wall mounted, but the stand on the 50″ model at least is nice and supports the TV well (no movement at all in a busy living room).
Picture quality looks great out of the box but it’s definitely worth spending some time adjusting and fine tuning it to your preferences. 4k HDR content continues to impress me and gaming on PS5 and PC looks fantastic, with lots of gaming specific options built in (I’m yet to test 1080p 120hz). Terrestrial TV HD channels look great.
It’s also a nice touch you get 2 remote controls. The Smart TV component has all of the streaming apps that I use and is snappy and fast when going from app to app and even allows you to customise the order the apps appear in to make the experience even smoother. The Smart remote is the better option imo as navigation feels a lot more snappy when using it. I guess my only 2 minor negatives are no Dolby Vision and the panel isn’t super bright but it is definitely bright enough, especially once you have followed a YouTube settings guide.
I don’t think you could ask for much more for the price and as expected it is a huge leap forward from my 1080p plasma from 2012.
All in all if you’re looking for a TV at this price point I don’t think you will be disappointed, unless you have unrealistic expectations about what you should be getting for the money. Definitely recommend.
I mainly used this TV for gaming with it’s clear 4K picture quality but I hardly ever used the 120hz mode because it reduced the picture quality to 1080p. The sound quality really isn’t great for a TV this price either so I recommend getting a soundbar with this TV (I just connect my air pods to the TV) However, it has great smart features and connectivity with my Alexa and a really nice minimal smart remote.
pros:
=>Cheapest TV at this price.
=>The picture quality is good, with a 4k resolution.
=>Inbuilt all the apps – prime, Netflix, Disney, so on…
=>2 remotes are working perfectly.
cons:
=>one of the major cons is – sound.
The sound is pathetic, even though we keep it at 100, the volume is very low…
A really wonderful screen, with beautiful colours and vibrant contrast. Easy to set up.
However, Samsung keeps putting in ads in the menu, which is ridiculous considering I just paid 520 for the TV. Its motivating me to finally set up an ad filter on my router.
System menus are not as good as other Samsung tv’s I own which makes it feel like a budget set, difficult to add apps, and some apps don’t work very well BBC iPlayer for example. Picture quality is not as sharp as I was expecting.
It’s a brilliant smart tv, purchased this one because my toddler smashed the old tv I had otherwise I wouldn’t have upgraded as Samsung tech quality is unmatched. But this was the only option for a replacement. The only trouble I have is the audio quality. It’s very Tinny which comes with thin tvs as the speaker quality is varied. Paired with a sound bar it’s a no brainer.
After doing a lot of research into what TV we should get to replace our 6 year old, non-4k Sony, I went for a 50inch version of this Samsung.
Setup out of the box was really easy as I have a Samsung mobile so just had to scan a QR code and it connected to WiFi then added itself to my smart things.
The TV looks great and the picture quality is really good, especially when using a 4k source or streaming service like Disney Plus.
Really easy to navigate using one of the two remotes…. Yes you get 2 remotes a basic one for everyday use and one with more buttons, which I’m hiding for when my wife/kids misplace the normal remote.
Overall really happy with this TV and for under 500 is good value, only thing which lets it down a little is that the sound quality is pretty poor but that’s normal with thin TVs, so best to also budget for a soundbar.
Great TV for the bedroom. Good picture and OK sound, but it doesn’t have the ability to turn the TV ON automatically each day at a set time, like our older Samsung TV! Strange really as you can program it to switch OFF each day at a set time. Now I’m going to have to use an alarm clock.
Come on Samsung, please add this important feature using the OTA update…
Edit: I’m now using Samsung SmartThings on my phone to turn TV ON in the morning. It works well but can’t specify volume or channel so that needs to be set before turning it OFF the night before.
Amazing TV and easy to use especially paired with a games console. But the actual apps and stuff are really good compared to most smart tvs where everything is so slow.
The picture quality is amazing and I’m glad I upgraded to it for my Ps5. It’s so bright and I am in awe of the quality of all the 4k HDR stuff.
However the sound quality is not good at all as plenty of reviews state. It’s thin and tinny with no base. It sounds like it’s coming from a different room. No settings changes will stop that. However if you have a soundbar it isn’t an issue at all. I just got one today. A jbl bar 2.0 and now my set up is 10/10. So I recommend the TV for sure especially as its so cheap for what it is. But be willing to invest in some outside audio equipment.
I bought this to replace an old Sony lcd I had in my bedroom and it is so much better in every department especially the picture. I have read on some reviews regarding the sound quality but tbh I personally found it to be more than adequate. I have one gripe though and that the remote control that I received was way to pernickity and no matter what I tried I can’t get it to control the volume. I can mute it with the remote but to control the volume I have to talk to the tv through the built in Alexa. It may be just a glitch on my remote that I have to find out how to fix and it is annoying but it wouldn’t stop me from recommending this tv to anyone.
I just received this TV today, no faults at all apart from the box was abit damaged but the TV itself was unscathed thankfully.
Getting set up is really easy that a single person can get this done. The feet attach with clips and same does the base of the stand. The material used is cheap plastic but it’s sturdy enough to hold the TV in place and upright.
Picture quality is absolutely perfect for PS5 and Xbox Series games, sharp detail, vivid colours thanks to HDR which is super simple to set up with the PS5 and Xbox alike.
Talking about games consoles this TV supports 1080p@120hz and 4K@60hz. So you can get the best of both worlds depending on how you prefer to enjoy your games especially with the new Next Gen hardware.
For the price you pay for you can’t go wrong and I mean you can’t go wrong.
Been asking Samsung twice if the device supports BBC red button text service, twice they told me “Yes”, but that is not true … “Function not supported” and can’t be activated.
The TV itself is great, amazing picture for the price and sound is good enough for me (Volume goes very low which is important to me becaue it is in the bedroom). Design is also nice, very slim and the cable manamgment helps to make everything look tidy.
So if you don’t bother about teletext then it is a no brainer. If you want teletext then better look somewhere else where it is still supported.
