works as intended and brilliant screen i needed a bigger screen because i can only use one eye and my vision is only good in my right eye as i am loosing my vision in my left eye so i need a screen big enough so i can magnify the screen big enough so can read small pri
I bought this stylish Samsung 32″ Curve Monitor because I needed a monitor to compliment my large antique desk. I am not a ‘gamer’, so the monitor’s 60 Hz refresh rate is more than sufficient for my daily use. However, having sensitive eyes, I have found that the Eye Saver Mode and Flicker-Free features allow me to view the screen for hours without any discomfort to my eyes! The curved screen really does offer immersive viewing, unlike my old monitor. This monitor has 4K ultra high-definition resolution which provides realistic images and enhances the text. This is especially beneficial to me when watching videos and reading lengthy content. After 9 months of trouble-free use, I am very pleased with this product.
I have 2 of them.One for more than 3 years.No complains.Quality monitors
Not the fastest 4k display at 60Hz but OK for large desktops for casual gaming and general use. The biggest drawback for me is the power button is on the rear which is inaccessible when in on my shelf. Had to change the fixed height monitor stand for an adjustable one but with the display almost touching the shelf in order to fit under another shelf above it. This situation is made intolerable by the fact the stupid thing doesn’t wake automatically when the PC wakes unlike the other 15 monitors/TVs I have around my home.
a) I couldn’t be bothered.
b) I use a Windows computer for work and I figured as I work from home I might as well just use it.
c) I can use it for PS4, even though it’s a pain to change HDMI (it only has 1 HDMI port).
Overall it’s good for gaming and Windows OS, so I’m still able to use it. It should be made more clear that it looks garbage on Macs using M1 processors, but it taught me a lesson to do research before buying things… so, thanks… I guess.
Good value for money. Flickers sometimes though, but that is negligible at this price and for a 4k monito
This is everything you need when working from home. This is a brilliant monitor with great picture and easy set up. The screen is crystal clear!
Good but the rear power button a real pain to use.
Purchased for home office.
The display is very nice, and the curved screen works well. Sits very nicely on my desk, next to a laptop.
My only comment (and the reason I knocked a star off) is simply because the contrast is a a little lower than I would like.
Otherwise, a great price for a quality brand 4K monitor.
[1] I am not a gamer, so I could not give any indication of performance in that regard – my 4 stars should be taken with a pinch of salt as I’m sure its not amazing, but its unlikely to be terrible;
[2] I’m a bit of a novice in terms of differences between screens and thus my assessment of its quality is subjective – looks fine to me, no glare and is aesthetically pleasing. Make of that what you will;
[3] Colour balance – followed some YouTube video about custom colour settings – might not be optimal, but what I can say is that my eyes don’t feel strained when in front of the screen for long periods of time, so again, no major complaints.
Now for some slight negatives:
[1] I did not read the description very carefully, and was surprised to find there were no USB ports on the rear of the monitor. Seems a bit of a cheap move, considering another version of this monitor which looks identical without any discernible improvements in screen spec or size has 4 ports on the back. Star knocked off for cheaping out on ports. Not even 1 port – really Samsung?
[2] Neither of the HDMI ports can do 4K in 60hz. It maxes out at 30hz. Some forums say, ‘oh it’s only HDMI 2 which does 60hz’. That was not correct for me anyway. This meant nothing to me until I plugged in my 2019 Macbook and, at 4K resolution, the cursor at 30hz was noticeably laggy and off-putting when typing or using the mouse. It honestly made me want to return the monitor, but for the inconvenience for me to do so. I had one last throw of the dice and bought a UNI Displayport to USB-C cable and BANG, into 4k @ 60hz no prob. Massive improvement. Now, the monitor does come with a displayport cable, but it is a DP to DP cable, so pretty hopeless if you wanted to hook up to a laptop, unless you have a proper docking station. I had a USB-C hub which only had HDMI to play with. So a star knocked off for the hassle.
All in all, unless you require a super precise monitor with excellent colour clarity and/or your budget is significantly higher than the 220 I spent on this, I don’t see how you could be too disappointed choosing this monitor. 4/5 because 3/5 seems a bit OTT for what is a decent enough bit of kit.
