very happy with my purchase overall. only downside is attaching a mounting bracket on the back as most dont fit cause of the circle on the back. ended up having to drill extra holes in one i bought for it to fit.

Okay, so let me tell you about the Samsung Odyssey LS32AG550EUXXU 32″ AG550 1000R QHD Curved Gaming Monitor 165 HZ. I mean, that’s quite a mouthful, isn’t it?

So, I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to this fancy monitor two years after buying a 3080. And let me tell you, it’s a whole new world out here. The curved design is perfect for my corner desk, and I feel like I’m in my own little gaming cocoon.

The screen quality is excellent, and the monitor is super responsive. I feel like I can react quicker to all those pesky opponents who try to ruin my gaming experience. But, here’s the thing, it’s a real pain to clean. Any dirt shows up easily, and I don’t want to damage the screen by cleaning it too hard.

I do have to say, though, keeping the box it came in is a lifesaver if you ever need to move it. Trust me, you don’t want to have to carry this thing around without the box. It’s like carrying a giant brick.

Now, I have to be honest, this monitor is expensive. I only bought it on sale, and I wouldn’t pay full price for it. But hey, if you’re looking to treat yo’ self, then go for it.

The only other downside is that it’s quite dark, so if you’re gaming in a dark room, it’s perfect. But, if you’re gaming in a well-lit room, you might struggle to see what’s going on.

Overall, I would say that this monitor is a good investment if you’re a serious gamer. It’s expensive and a bit of a pain to clean, but the curved design and screen quality make it worth it. Just keep that box, trust me.

The Samsung Odyssey G5 is almost perfect; fantastic design, perfect viewing angles, an acceptable amount of screen brightness and a with a 27″ design it will get the job done.

The only issue I face is the HDR/Gaming mode, when tabbing outside of games you are met with a weird dark tint on your screen until you return back to the game. It’s not the end of the world, but it can be a little annoying.

    4/5

Great monitor for the price (I bought two in the sale) that I use for work and gaming.

These were an upgrade from the 22inch screens I had for pushing 10 years. A fantastic upgrade they are. Having curved screens is a new one for me, but found having two of them a pleasant one. Gaming in strategy games using ‘surround’ which is Nvidea’s tech to allow you to merge your two screens into one. The field of view is massive in this mode.

Bit of faffing required to get surround set up but worth it.

A couple of negative points thst made me rate 4 stars were; the monitors don’t auto switch between HDMI and DP. Bit annoying when I switch from work laptop to personal gaming laptop. I don’t want to have to press the buttons to do this and would expect auto detect feature to be available for this spec of monitor. Alas, it is not.

I experienced a crash on one of the screens that mean’t just would not come on for a day. I almost returned it. Googling the issue didn’t help. I removed all cables including power and went through the reset function to get it back on.

This is one hell of a gaming monitor. I run it with an AMD RX 6950 XT, and gaming has never been so good.
This monitor even has an eye saver function, and using both that and running the monitor on 144Mhz, you can use for hours on end with no effects to your eyes.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGoing from a 24 4k to a 32 1080p was a risk
    But it paid off
The 144hz 1080p hits the sweet spot
I play call of duty on Xbox series x, the settings are perfect (check YouTube for best set up depending on Xbox or pc)
Truly incredible for gaming, I bought a cheap lead backlight that sits underneath to add a nice tough

Genuinely, this is the only monitor you need unless you want to spend 1000+

Grab it when it’s back in stock, I paid 254 for this so hopefully you don’t pay much more (check Currys etc)

    Amazing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible for gaming, don’t look anywhere else

It’s a bit of an upgrade from my old 1080p 27″ and seems to be doing well.
Only time will tell how long it lasts although I may get a second next time they are on sale

Bought as my laptop screen died. Planning to upgrade to a desktop soon, so haven’t been able to use 144hz refresh rate yet as hdmi only supports 1440p 60hz or 1920 120hz, which is fine for now anyway. Good size, really like the curve and the picture quality is good. I use it for both gaming and adobe softwares such as illustrator. I really like it for both of these. Only thing I don’t like is the fact the stand can’t be changed at all and the button on the bottom feels quite fragile. Overall I’d recommend

Good monitor with 120Mhz and 144Mhz, for both consoles and PC. I’ve got one dead pixel, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Curved screen is fantastic for gaming, Modern Warefare II in my case.

    Straight to the point:
    – most issues is addressed under monitor colours… I’m using Spyder Express on my monitors so after calibrating it I’m happy. There is blue tint tho visible from wider angles (after all this one have a really narrow view angle).
    – have white light contamination (bleeding light) on top and bottom, it was 5 years since I have seen one that was perfect. Wasn’t expecting this to be solved by Samsung and no surprise there.
    – I’m playing games at 2k, limiting them to 120fps (why use higher? 30fps is standard movie, 60fps for super smooth movie… doubling it is overkill but makes this last step in smoothing gameplay, so why use more?), so my monitor is set to 120Hz to sync with it, never was or will use HDR so probably that’s why I haven’t seen any ghosting at all
    – VESA mount is a nightmare – it is small VESA (750mm) for huge monitor and in addition it is kind of a hole so no way of attaching to standard 1000mm VESA without spacers (10mm is enough)
    – VESA mount is very high on monitor! using standard arms I had to think about buying one that’s higher than 40 cm… flipped my monitor upside down, and lowered arm instead
    – in my case VESA mount was wobbly, there was space between VESA and frame which points out that mount is not a part of frame but some kind of addon
    – most annoying feature: blinking blue led! it is blinking constantly when monitor is switched off, no settings for it, only way is to unplug the power (I have monitor in my bedroom, super annoying blinking during the night!)
    – menu is another annoyance: you have options but some of them are not active, you wish to know why!

For that price it is quite a decent gaming monitor, but have so many annoyances that I would never recommend it for full price, and never ever would recommend for any graphic design work.

Brilliant monitor. Recommended by my gaming group so I took a chance. No speakers but that’s no issue.

Also great for work and I have less eye strain. Just awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant monitor.

    I upgraded from a 32″ 1080p 75hz monitor and this was a big upgrade.
Way richer colours than my old monitor.
1440p 144hz seems like the sweet spot in resoultions for gaming.
My RTX 3070 runs this monitor great. HDR 10 looks ok on films.
Worth it if it’s on sale.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersScreen quality’s great and the the curved feature is awesome. It took a good hour or so of messing around with the color settings on my GPU to get the screen looking just right. I disabled the automatic screen brightness, cranked the brightness up to max, and found a relatively neutral “color settings” then I went into my graphics card settings to balance the colors a bit. I had to enable Freesync in the monitor control panel and in the graphics card control panel. It works great now.

A disclaimer in case anyone finds themselves a bit confused – This monitor has NO built-in speakers. None. It has a headphone jack which can also be used for an aux cable to a sound bar or external speakers. That’s what I am using. I had to go through Samsung tech support to confirm this. I thought my screen was broken because it was picked up as an audio device, but nothing would play.

Apart from those weird/missing features, the screen is absolutely amazing considering i bought it on sale for only 250. I upgraded from a 1080p/60 fps screen, and the difference is night and day.

I’d like to just say if i paid full price i’d give this a 3star rating but at 259 black friday sale this is the best 1440pcurved monitor at this price point.

    Pros:
    +Price
+Not super bright so you wont get easy eye strain
Games look great on it and with the DP Cable you can run this at 165HZ.

    Cons:
The stand isnt very sturdy, and you can swivel the screen or adjust height so you will need to buy a 75 x 75 arm mount for this and the stand being not so great id suggest getting one.
Plugging your cables in at the back can be tricky because there is not much clearance (the cable ports are in this circle indent and its hard bending the cables to slot them in as the display port wire is thick with a plastic buldgy bit on the wire.

So all in all at 259 grab it at 399 i’d maybe wait for it to go back on sale, but best 1440p monitor at 259

When I ordered this monitor (27inch G5) I seen alot of negative reviews about orders getting delivered broken and after time the screen is buldging out, I have had 0 problems with this monitor and am absolutely loving it ! Never had a curve monitor before but I’m super impressed.

I ordered this monitor and when I received it , the box was tampered with and the monitor was Missing. AMAZON were great with sending me a new item , which arrived intact and all parts there this time.

I use this monitor for my ps5 , it seems great!

I have been playing for a while now on my 4k 75″ Samsung TV and quality wise it makes the games look great, but playing in a smaller screen everything feels smoother and much better . Graphics aren’t as good but value for money wise the monitors great. Kudos on the service!

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersLet me state that this is not a bad product or a bad screen, just alot of annoying problems. Problems I have not had with other brands. When I first got this monitor the colour setting were very noticeablly “warm”. Maybe that’s how its meant to be, but compared to my other monitor it was very dimly lit and orange. Almost like somebody had turned on a blue light filter but that’s just how it was. I had to crank up the blue value and the brightness to match my other monitor and I felt like the changes made it look better.

I have no idea what HDR really is, or what’s it’s for, but it is a selling point. Frankly it just didn’t do much. Everything is slightly darker, but light things seem lighter. If that’s your thing, fine. However they make a big deal out of it, and really isn’t all that.

Another awful thing is when you turn it off, (and it still has power going to it) it will have a strong blinking blue light flash on the bottom. Forever. My computer and office space is based in my bedroom. So it’s an annoying blinking light, which personally annoys me alot when I try to sleep. But furthermore it has a piercing but quiet coil whine (whilst it has power going to it), you can’t hear this normally but if you sit in silence for a moment it becomes irritatingly deafening.

Now both of these are fixed by turning it off fully, as in from the mains rather than just powered off. However the mains is blocked by my computer desk, which means I have to unplug it from the monitor end. It becomes annoying to have to keep plugging in and unplugging your monitor every time you wish to use it. Having to awkwardly reach behind it and slot in the cable (which I can’t see because the table and monitor have their backs facing a wall) is painful dexterous work I could do without on the daily. All because the monitor likes to blink and scream for no reason.

Good looking screen with a nice refresh rate but isn’t an ideal pair for the ps5. It is only HDMI 2.0 with no VRR and can’t play 4K games at 120hz. It’s old tech and it’s starting to show. However it is enjoyable and does get you immersed, just don’t expect to be playing CoD at 4K 120hz.

Overall it’s a decent screen but Yh it won’t let you turn on any of the new features on your ps5 like ALLM and VRR.

Bough it for my son PC. Excellent value for the money. Refresh rate is fantastic in 1440p, however some ghosting can be noticed so it’s not perfect for e-sport titles. Colour gamma is quite disappointing so any graphic/video editing is not recommended on this monitor. For casual gamer to play non competitive games is excellent choice. For pro gamers would suggest to go for G7. Anyway good monitor but don’t expect too much from it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst of all I want to say that I been going through all the comments, I was sceptic when I saw someone commented that doesn’t work with 120Hz 120FPS on PS5, but I said to give it a try because I didn’t had nothing to lose, it took me a while with the image to set up the colours and I figure it out at the end to resolve it, is really worth it to buy it for PS5 just need to adjust the settings properly, on PS5 (Saved Data and Game/App Settings – Game Presets- Performance Mode or Resolution Mode chose Performance mode, another important thing which take me all the day, about HDR set it up On When Supported and you gona see the difference between the colours!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and worth to buy

The monitor overall is good. Some small issues stick out however for one, when scrolling left to right in a game from a top down perspective it can be very uncomfortable to look at I’m not one to get motion sick but it took some getting used to. The monitor also isn’t great at displaying darker settings as the pixels tend to be either greyed or badly lit.
These are the only negatives however the quality is fantastic, the response time is much better (also small complaint you have to turn on 144hz refresh rate from the monitor menu itself this took me a while to realise as I was trying to go it from settings and geforce) Once gotten used to the scrolling issue is barely noticeable.
This is by no means a bad monitor and im overall very pleased with it this was just meant to highlight some things that might put people off.
