I paired it with a bumper cate and I have it for my toddler. Battery life is great, touch screen works even when smudzy.
It is not very bright when using in direct sunlight but somehow expected for this pricerange.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs a budget tablet this really punches above its weight, I can’t believe it’s so much cheaper than an iPad and yet runs the apps I need efficiently. Sure the screens not as high a resolution but it’s perfect for my needs and ticks a lot of boxes. Processing power isn’t what more expensive tablets provide, but apart from not-quite-seamless refresh rates it hasn’t been a problem to date. Video plays back well and there’s plenty of memory, particularly when you add a microSD card. All in all, excellent value for money

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAmazing tablet, I have diteched my phone and laptop and now only use this with the “SEYMAC” case with the strap for it found on Amazon too which makes it the perfect combo, I bring the thing absolutely everywhere and for those wanting to stay away from WiFi the fact that this takes a SIM means you never need WiFi and you always have internet with you. My husband did the same and he loves it as much as I do, only down is that the photos are not as good as with a phone but for a tablet it is not bad either. All round highly recommend I am always baffled when I see how unpopular those SIM tablets are, it makes no sense whatsoever.

I bought this as my kindle was not big enough, It’s the perfect size for when I go on holidays. Plus I don’t have to take my mobile and camera as this tablet does it all. I would recommend highly.

Its a good buy for me. Simple to use. Meets all my requirements to what I need it for. When you don’t need to put on your laptop but need to read up an article or make research, or even watch movies, its a good tablet.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usersot too heavy in the hand, good loud audio, bright screen , not the highest screen definition but in a 8-9″ tablet thats fine.

Would have liked a few more bells and whistles like HDMI out but this is a samsung budget device

4G works well as does wifi and bluetooth

A few older games wont run but not much of a gamer so not an issue

    Good for ebook reading

Camera OK but could use a few more megapixels (cant really moan at the price point)

yes the Phone part does work for voice calls

    Happy custome

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a first rate piece of kit. Great connectivity, In fact all of the tech specs are great all round.
It has updated itself to Android 13.
Nice convenient size for sitting next to my pillow.
(This has been purchased for just one purpose)
    Audible !!
No doubt I will find other uses for it too.
Like a second Phone or Browser.

    And never forgetting – “It’s A Samsung”

Being slim, smooth, and quite large to hold securely in one hand, I would suggest a protective case with a palm strap.
Even with the protective case it still fits the space by my pillow.

I bought the SEYMAC case, because now and again, it is bound to slip between the bed and the wall.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersExcellent tablet, and upgrade from my amazon fire. You can add a Micro SD card Max of 1TB for when more storage is needed.

    The tablet is ideal for:
    – Video conferencing.
    – Watching movies, for example YouTube.
    – Browsing the web.
    – Online newspapers.
    – eBooks.
    – Audio books.
    – Sky Go.
    – Online radio.
    – Listening to music.
    – Keeping a blood pressure diary.
    – Keeping a diabetes diary.
    – Oh and last but not least eMails.

    Pros:
    – Good Battery life.
    – Expandable storage.
    – 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Cons:
    – Samsung bloatware.
    – No screen mirroring option.
    – The screen is a fingerprints magnet.
    – A bit sluggish.
    – No good for gaming.
    – No getting started instruction manual (Full manual is only on the tablet)
    – You can add a micro SD card for files and photos, but for NOT APPS.

It’s cheap and cheerful. As American say good bang for your buck.

    Battery life is very good.

It does what I need – browse the Web, using it for streaming apps, listening to audio books, reading books, listening to music (use my wireless headphones), playing games for my young nephews. I don’t need it for much more.
Fantastic price for what it does

it’s cheap, don’t expect a lot from it, and you can’t compare it to an iPad… com’on!
It’s more than enough to browse the internet and get your emails and social media.
    That’s it. Cheap and cheerful.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWell-built and pretty lightweight for the price, beating amazon’s kindle that I have tried at a similar price point.
Another plus point being expandable micro sd slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack (both of which seem to be going out of style on phones).

A decent low spec tablet for browsing the web, watching videos/streaming/youtube, listening to music or playing casual games.

If you are looking for a tablet that can do more than that then avoid. This tablet will struggle and frustrate you if you are looking to use this for productivity, work or gaming.

Bought as a present. Was pleasantly surprised to see you can also set it up using an AppleId even though it’s not an iPad!
The screen is very good quality, we watched YouTube videos on it.it’s not as light or responsive as an iPad, but that’s not to say that it is not fast enough anyway. I’m just spoiled as an iPad user.
Would recommend if you don’t want to spend 3 times the amount on an iPad. It was great as a gift for a 16 year old who found it absolutely fine.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat for reading kindle books. It can be slow & laggy. No fingerprint access, which means you have to remember all your passwords. Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersTook this tablet to use it as a GPS device, after returning a disappointing Blackview Tab 6 and after a week of using it, I can say that it was a good decision, it has a stable 12 satellites connection at all times no matter where you are or weather conditions making it reliable, Though I would liked for it to have a brighter screen in direct sunlight but all tablets are the same at this category, overall it’s doing the job really well. You will need at least a 2.4A car charger for a normal battery charge or at least a 3.0A car charger for quick charge, battery life will last about 6,7hrs on full brightness only with iGO Nextgen running on full screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars It has a good GPS receiver built in.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have had this tablet for several months now and this is my opinion.

The screen is 1080p so don’t expect to watch 4K YouTube videos!!
Anything you watch will be 1080p including Netflix etc..

The camera is just not worth bothering with.
It has a bright screen and good battery life.
The speakers are rubbish so use ear buds etc…

I bought this to use as a screen for my DJI Drone controller and knew the pitfalls when buying!!
For my own intended use it was ok.

It has slightly more ram then other cheaper brands, but expect to wait for apps to open.
Even the Samsung store takes a bit to open!!

So if you just want a basic screen to view stuff on then ok.
    Anthing else then forget.
BTW this does not have a UK Samsung warranty, but I knew that when buying!!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersFirstly, uninstall all the useless apps you never use, Calculator, weather etc…. secondly turn off the animations within the developer options (easy to find tutorials on YouTube). Then you have a cheap Samsung Tablet that will function perfectly fine.

I never understand the negative reviews from people comparing it to other devices that cost twice as much…. if you’re bothered about “only having” 32gb of storage – then stick a cheap SD card in.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBought 2 of these for the children to use rather than their aging kindle fire’s. All in all they are really good value for the money and a good size for their ages (6 and 7) they are also pretty lightweight which is good for young children. The girls mostly use for roblox and YouTube with some other apps/games and runs relelatively well. Wouldn’t recommend for serious gamers but ideal for young children.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersThe screen is small – this is a cosy little tablet suitable for someone who just wants a hobby tablet, not for hours and hours a day.

The screen quality / resolution is good, and for a small computer it has a surprisingly good battery life (of course depending on usage). It is not the most powerful processor in the world and won’t be able to handle multiple significant tasks simultaneously; but for the price you’re paying this is more than acceptable.

I personally bought this for my grandmother who is nearly 90. She is really pleased with it as her previous Samsung tablet was slow and outdated. She considers it easy to use and has had no major issues with it at all – very happy. If someone at her age can use it easily, I’m sure we call ca

Studied some options before choosing this one. I needed a tablet that is physically small but doesn’t compromise on screen quality or usability. Not interested in paying Apple prices so I wanted Android.

The screen is good, it’s large enough to use the keyboard easily and the text prediction/auto correct is very good when writing documents or emails. It took hardly any time to set up and has taken me little time to get used to it. I should have bought a case for it at the time – silly me! – but that’s been rectified now.

This tablet is excellent so far. Video streaming is good, sound quality is good through the speakers and touch response is fine for my purpose. I don’t want it for gaming so I can’t comment on that but general surfing is fine.
I haven’t used it for long periods yet but the battery life seems to be ok. The charger is a bit slow but luckily I have a faster one from another device so it’s not an issue for me.
    Very pleased with the product!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersReviewed June 2022:
Bought 3 of these to use at work, we use the for testing Android software, and they are excellent value for money.

These are not high end, and if you buy with highend, iPad expectations you’re going to be disappointed.

But, for a cheap and cheerful tablet for basic use, I think they are great. Screen resolution is not top end, but compared with some others in the same price bracket, they are good. (and higher than the industrial ones that our customer will use).

Battery life is very good and the 3 gig ram is pretty adequate unless you’re trying to use apps that push the graphics capabilities. If you want to game, or you want to browse with lots of open tabs, this is probably not the right tablet for you.

Sound is reasonable, and connected to headphones its above average, definitely better than my previous Lenovo tablet.

Wifi and bluetooth are reliable and the components used are decent ones.

I’m having the best time with my new gadget . It fits my needs perfectly, I’m especially chuffed by it’s weight – almost nothing. It fits in all my bag, and as it weighs almost nothing, I’m not worried about putting extra stress on my back.
It is also very easy use, and it doesn’t “eat up” batteries.
My only problem is “swipe screen..” it takes my swipes to open the tablet.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt was bought to replace an iPad that my mother just couldn’t get along with. She was coming from an older 2017 ‘Galaxy Tab A’.

I sold it for her and got this ‘Galaxy Tab A7 Lite’. It’s been a very good replacement for the old ‘Tab A’, although I don’t know what the ‘A7’ or ‘Lite’ patter is all about, at all; especially when it has an 8″ screen (god, Samsung, could you just simplify your device naming policy, out, please).

The cell phone, calling, functionality has been a boon for her, too: less devices to juggle around with and only one operating system for her to learn for phoning, shopping, browsing, email, etc.

I’m really amazed at how cheap these things are. Plenty of internal memory, too, so it shouldn’t go obsolete all that soon, as apps get bigger and more complex with all the updates, over time (that’s what killed the ‘Tab A’; it ran out of space).

I preferred the older, recent, versions of Android, though. It used to be simpler and more user friendly. We still find it preferable to using iOS, overall, though.

My nano sim card, even when adapted to micro, size does not fit inside sim slot/draw. Nano falls through, micro sits too proud. unable to close.

3 advisers advice, Wifi only, not designed for sim, sims come in different sizes. Purchase a pay-as-you-go for seller to insert sim.

    I prefer not to Bluetooth/tether or purchase a pay-as-you-go.

Replacement tablet for a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Graphics are limited colourwise and way less pixels than the Tab S2. However, this is minor compared to Samsung’s built in redundancy. The operating system stuck at Android 7 meant that many of the basic apps no longer worked. Unless you are overly worried about the graphics the machine is a good replacement and runs comfortably on Android 11 (at the moment). Really good battery life and easy to use user interface (Samsung positive point). Samsung proprietary operating system is a limit and will see the tablet supported for about 3 years. The price point is really good for a tablet of this quality. Apart from the graphics, I can only be positive about this machine, and even the graphics are not that bad!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI tried to configure the tab without any instructions. I later found them on the device! Why don’t companies put paper ones in the box. Out of two books in box, there was a tiny page in English re: safety. Other book: all warranty registration in loads of languages except English. So, I didn’t do well. Days later I phoned Samsung and spent an hour with a lovely young man who instructed me how to factory reset and start again. Basically, accept everything and alter later through settings. We’d almost finished when the line was cut off, so I finished it myself. Doh! One thing, I’m still not sure if my warranty is registered. Another phone call? The tab is 32GB but I was shocked to see how much is taken up by the system. My old 32 GB 3yr old tab hasn’t used as much with all my apps, downloads and files from 3yrs of use included. Ok, you can add a micro usb for files and photos, but NOT APPS. Oh hell! Can’t see this lasting long as It’s full of Samsung Apps which will constantly need updating! The tablet itself is lovely, 8.9″ with a screen I can see in the sun. I use pyjama bottoms over my head and the old tab if there’s any sunshine and I still have trouble seeing anything, and that’s indoors. I’ve played a couple of Samsung games just to try them but they still install. ( More space taken?) Other than that, I’ve just browsed, I don’t like the Samsung apps I’ve tried. I want the ones I’m used to, but am scared to install them due to the space issue, so all in all I regret buying. I would buy another, but only if it had either: NO Samsung apps OR, loads more available storage for my own useage. (Without Samsung apps, 32GB was more than plenty). I’ll get used to this first, then hopefully I may come back and update. I may change my mind after all, I’ve got to give it a chance.

I want to start by saying I wanted it for playing puzzle games, watching YT & general app usage. And for those things is perfect for me, hence the 5* . However all the other users comments, about the camera being rubbish and the little memory are true. I do not need the camera as am perfectly happy with the one I have on my phone and for expanding the memory I got a memory card , so that was that. The battery life is good, lasting me a few days(then again I am not glued to it) and overall is ticking all the boxes for me.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI purchased a Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite 8.7 inch LTE tablet (Wifi) to replace an ~9 year old Barnes and Noble Nook HD+ which is a 9-inch tablet with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080, and weighs about 515g. Compared to the Nook which I was very pleased with and is still working well, the Samsung is so much faster and easier to hold with one hand.

I am using it primarily as a book reader to replace the Nook. In addition, it is used for web browsing for reading news, as well as helping to solve puzzles and crosswords.

As a long time Linux user, I have a preference for non-proprietary/open source software, and therefore did not consider any offerings by Apple etc. I have installed Firefox and Chromium, and Aldiko (personal favourite for book reading). I downloaded the apps as APKs as I do not have a Google account and have no wish to have one, and I do not use social media. Alongside these apps, the only other one that I have installed is for my VPN, which I have set up to start automatically and run continuously.

For its price and performance, I believe it is very good value and does everything I want. It boots from cold to my home screen with my VPN auto-starting in about 50 seconds. From standby/screen off, it takes about 5 seconds including entering the passcode. Compared to a dedicated book reader, I feel that one of these is so much better value. I can use my preferred book reader app, as well as use it for other purposes. For me, the screen is perfectly good enough, it is clear and easy to read, nothing blurry about it. It is snappy, no pauses or hesitation switching between or while using apps, or any of the problems that some people seem to be reporting. Yes, one can always find a ‘superior’ tablet for just those ‘few extra pounds’, eg An Apple, other Samsungs etc, but where do you stop?. For 119, I believe this is very good value for what is does and I very pleased with it and have no regrets at all.

I have measured the screen/tablet dimensions that people may find useful (attached image).

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this tablet for a non-techie person as a Christmas present and the value for money and quality is fantastic. The tablet looks sleek and feels robust. A lot of negative reviews said the tablet is really slow, I didn’t find that to be the case and a non-techie wouldn’t even notice (sure, it’s not iPad-fast but it’s also a fraction of the cost.. let’s adjust expectations). If you’re looking for a no fuss tablet that looks great for someone that is going to use it to read and browse the web, this is the perfect option that won’t break the bank account. If you’re looking for a super fast, high screen quality, equivalent to an iPad, this not for you.

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersI’m going to get into trouble here as I own Apple, Amazon and Android tablets/phones/readers, so, comparisons are inevitable I’m afraid.

Bottom line: what do you want? Glorious, fast, iOS? Then pay lots of money. But that choice is hard to use in sunlight. A text (ebook) reader? Then Kindle is the winner. Good outdoors and simple. Yes, but e-books do not stop at Amazon and the device is pre-historic in features. A cheap, Android device? No, Amazon with its emasculated “Fire” tablet does not qualify! Ah! How about Huawei? Yeah, but it’s basic and slow unless you spend Apple prices. Then it’s on to another, better, Android – maybe Samsung? Or, is this another expensive sub-optimum option?

So, what about the “cheap” Samsung Tab A7 Lite? Well, iOS it is not (weird Android graphics!), but the screen is not bad and the speed eats Huawei alive. It works as a reader, on any e-book format and it feels OK. Outdoors in sun? Still a no-no, but Kindle is a fallback. For a few more, it’s a lot better than Hauwei!

I could get to like this tablet. But Android – please can we have grown up graphics and colours?

Subsequent Edit: I’m not sure what the complaints elsewhere about the display screen are about. A photo is certainly brighter and colour less precise than my iPad Pro or iPhone X, but considering the price differences it is not bad! The face recognition, on the other hand, is dire! If I pick up my iphone it has recognised me as I raise it, ditto iPad. Samsung does not even allow me to wear my glasses and only works sporadically even without glasses. However, I originally gave 3 stars – considering how good value it is, I now think at 145 it really is worth 4.
