bought these to make windows 10 and 11 installers usb drives. and they work well. with multiple installs from the drives for both windows 10 and 11. i could have bought smaller drives but these drives are what i would recommend these over the cheaper drives. as reliability is best. rather than the cheap 90% ish failure on cheaper drives available
.. and they do the USB stick thing pretty well.
I know they’re a brand name and I may be fooling myself, but I feel my data is more secure for longer on them
I haven’t noticed any heat, they are fast enough for me and there are three colours which helps with colour coding usage.
No problems with fit.
Happy with my purchase.
Really pleased with these, I am a Family History Researcher and after doing a family tree for my clients I download all the documents and photos and census records, baptism records etc to one of the pen drives / USB stick so they can share it all with their families.
These are so easy to use, just plug it in, drop the files over, and away you go.
I’d definitely recommend them to anyone.
I have purchased a few of these over the years San disk has never failed me yet so good quality to store or transfer data etc. various storage space available.
Bought 2 of these after cheaper usb sticks failed to work after a few weeks. The Sandisks are still going strong and do everything you want a usb stick to do. Don’t waste your money on cheaper sticks. these are well worth paying a little extra for.
I generally love Sandisk USB sticks. I have so far “only” had two fail, but I don’t blame them as that’s after extremely heavy use copying tens of thousands of still and video files as well as running Linux operating systems.
I use this one to hold my Linux Unraid server operating system files., I have had issues with an old metal Sandisk Ultra Fit USB stick getting burning hot, which I suspect could have accelerated its death. I chose this one because it’s bigger, I don’t know if that is the case but I assume it should dissipate heat better. I have so far not had heat issues with it.
It is only USB 2.0 so very limited in terms of speed, however, it is perfect for running Unraid as it only has to be booted up once every few months after down-time. I leave the server on 24/7 and the USB only holds the operating system.
If you needc speed, look for a USB 3.0 USB. If you need reliabilityand don’t mind low speed, this so far seems great.
Tricks and Tips and Tutorials, Too…
The USB drives can be bought as single items or as multipacks, so it’s a matter of cost and whatever discounts may also be available. The items are fragile so we must be made aware of this prior to a purchase test. The 32GB limit applies to USB drives using the FAT32 setting. I learned that some people format such a drive on their PC. Right-drive the drive letter and select format and the 32 allocation size for FAT32. However, some USB drives are sent out with extra files from the start. Copy these to a C drive folder then you can copy from C drive back to the USB drive after it has been formatted.
The USB drive is quite thin so this makes it easier to fit near other USB drives and devices such as the PC’s USB ports as well as a Smart TV’s inputs next to HDMI inputs. Some devices may still initialise and format so it helps to know that as well. I use USB 32GB drives as temporary storage files for downloads or TV recordings, So TVs, PCs, Firesticks and other Android devices that can save mp4s and images and so on. I can choose to copy/transfer files to the PC or much larger USB hard drives. It’s safer to copy files than to transfer or move them because some move actions may not work. Some USB drives may lock up files and cause problems that way. Copying files may be the safer option.
The ROKU 3 set-top box has a right-side panel for the USB input yet it’s safer to use a more sturdy USB drive than these ones. The Firestick uses a separate cable to supply connectors to the power supply as well as to the USB input connector or perhaps the USB hub. YouTube explains the set-up. There are apps for File Managers as well as Internet web browsers such as Silk, Amaze, Phoenix. Firestick updates are causing some users to add YouTube tutorials to change Firestick settings and to offer workarounds. However the operating system on the 2023 versions has changed and that requires further research on YouTube.
Some customers will pay more for better quality Sandisk USB 32GB drives as I did when buying the red, blue and black Triple-Packs. Some customers may have the SDCARD to test and these have adapters with the side panel and the lock/unlock settings. SDCARD is sometimes the default way to download from an Android device but we can still copy files from these using File Managers or removing safely prior to connecting to various PC USB inputs.
Over time, we need to identify the USB drives from the others and separate these such as using a small envelope to put a drive into along with a list of the contents. The more USBs we use the more this is a quick way to know where files are. It’s useful to keep records of apps and their APK installation files rather than to delete these as explained in YouTube videos meant to save storage space on these limited 32GB drives or the Firestick’s main storage. Amazon Firesticks may now be set to offload apps when not in regular use and may even delete these so it’s recommended to carefully consider switching the offload setting to OFF. As usual, search YouTube for specific keywords to track down any relevant tutorials and updated tutorials.
Avoid USB drives with 64GB and higher as these require a different formatting set-up as YouTube tutorials can help us understand if needing extra programs to format such USB drives. Some equipment won’t let us use any drives above 32GB and that is why the Netgem company recommends various 32GB drives such as the DataTraveller made by Kingston for their Netboxes and 4K Netboxes accessing Freeview as well as their very own TV channels, so consider those as well as recommended Sandisk drives. Record Freeview shows or series and films. Find out what PC Media Players work with these Freeview Recordings.
Shop around to find lower USB drive prices as well as Amazon discounts because Amazon offers quite a few ways to save on our purchases and especially those by Amazon and sent by Amazon. Check your purchases to see if Amazon does both… and thus you get to save now and then. A minimum order may be for 15, 20 or 30 and even higher so find other items to get to whatever total helps you…
i have a few of these flash drives and they just work. they are not the fastest by any means. i have one that the plastic around the connector has broken off, still works perfectly. i also like the secure access utility that came with there drives, unsure if it still does. as it gives a secure way to protect data when out and about.
Built quality feels flimsy but unless you’re really heavy handed it will suffice, it does the job that I required (Microsoft recovery) it is in the fat32 format but that’s easy to change if you need. Overall for the price it is good value
Accidentally dropped it on my front lawn and thought it was lost forever. After 2 days of rain I found it and tried it in my USB… works fine! Doesn’t say waterproof on the description but seems to be.
Arrived on time and, after some others that I have tried that failed, this one is compatible with my Sony Bravia TV. I can now record directly on my television. My Freesat box will only record one programme, whilst watching another, so this allows me to record two programmes and watch one, which is sometimes necessary. Very satisfied with my purchase.
More than I expected & just what I needed with a couple of spares. I’ve used this design before & due to a slight bit of mishandling broke one corner in the USB slot – oops
Great usb flash drive good price good quality good read and write speed and really sturdy! Overall it’s really good only thing is that it comes with usb 2.0 but that’s what you get for the price
I wanted a handful of sticks to keep in my backpack when travelling to various office sites and these are ideal. For the price and brand name you can’t really knock’em.
Compact USB drive in a bright green plastic case… No chance I’ll be losing this any time soon. For a USB 2 based flash drive, it’s fast enough. Initially used it to install Windows 11 & now I use it for audiobooks in the car. Still works perfectly fine after a few thousand miles of vibrations, sub-zero nights & hot daytime car temperatures.
One of the best, if not the best! Good capacity and decent read speed. Quite handy and reasonable price. I have many of them (SanDisk flash drives) storing a lot of different types of data in them. I mostly buy from this brand coz they never disappoint me and the drives last for too long.
