Had a little difficulty opening the package but I think that was more me being too nervous to even breathe in fear of snapping the tiny card, I ordered it for my Nintendo and slipped it in no issue, after a quick update it’s working perfectly 100% recommend to anyone who is in need of one, it came with an adapter but I didn’t need one, still good to have tho, I am the furthest thing from tech savvy so it was a huge relief to see it working perfectly

This was for extra memory on my phone. A lovely young man at the Vodafone shop suggested extra memory and installed it for me. I assume it is working. As you can tell I am not altogether up with technology.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersTLDR: Good storage, reliable with decent read speed but slow write speed so not great for frequent high speed write but fine for write once, ready many usage

I purchased this card for my phone so that I could put my music collection on my phone and use it in the car via bluetooth. I gave up on streaming services once songs and even full albums started disappearing from my account (or worse being replaced with dodgy cover versions) on a daily basis due to “licensing.” You can’t rely on streaming services to maintain their catalogues

I’m old-school and have a decent collection of CD’s and Vinyls, with many new releases still available on CD, and have already taken the considerable time to rip my CD’s as lossless Flac files for use at home but I needed some decent storage space to put them on my phone

The card is decent and holds most (not all) of my collection and read times and reliability are good. Write times are slow and it took maybe a day to almost fill the card but in my use case it is write once, read many so thats ok but I’d be wary of using this card for something that requires frequent, high speed writes

The prices of micro sd cards just keep getting better and better, for 256gb you really cant go wrong! Speeds are exactly as advertised and same goes with capacity, I use it for a camera but sd cards are plug and play and work in virtually any device they can be plugged into

I went from a recording time of one hour
To a recording time of 4 hours without any looping in 4k

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI bought this card for use in a Nintendo Switch. Reviews, guides and Youtube videos all suggest the read/write speed of this card is all you need i.e. UHS-1, Class 10. The write speed is not so important for a games console, as you’re only writing each game’s code onto your card the once. After that you’re reading (more or less), and the Switch’s read speed tops out at 90/100Mb per second. This card claims up to 150Mb read speed, more than enough for the Switch.

As a comparison, I was using a Sandisk 32Gb UHS-3 V30 card before I bought this 512Gb UHS-1 card. I formatted the card in the Switch and moved my games over to this newer, slower card. I tested each game and found no difference in performance between the fast and slower card. The games all loaded just as quickly, they all ran just as quickly. So there’s no need to go spending money on a more expensive UHS-2 card because the Switch won’t see the benefit.

Also just be aware, as others here have said, that once you format the card the capacity drops to about 470Gb. This is normal, its the real amount of space you have available on a card of this capacity, and that’s still oodles of space. I’ve bought Sandisk cards for cameras, audio recorders and phones in the past. I’ve never had any of them corrupt or die, they’re a reliable brand and this is a good price. If you buy one make sure you’re ordering it from Amazon rather than a third party seller as there’s a lot of fake cards around!

    USE CASE – Steam Deck
    Overall
For the Steam Deck, I got the 256GB microSD Card. I have an NVMe SSD in the steam deck and I can’t see any difference between the internal storage and the microSD card. Worth for adding more storage for larger or smaller games. Would recommend if you need extra storage.

    Positives
Random read/write speeds which matter for games is seemingly fine, no long loading times or any noticeable loading issues.
Comes with an Adapter as a bonus for microSD.
    Minimal packaging.

    Negatives
It is still expensive for just an microSD card with fairly low specs, the Max Read/Write speeds are something everyone probably won’t ever use in a real world scenario.

Works very well in my security camera.

My only problem was extracting it from the packaging.

I was hesitant as the previous reviews stated that their sd cards were displayed as a lower GB than what they had bought. However upon checking, my 128GB came just as described. I recommend!

As you can see 119GB is close enough, with space for 33977 photos (I’ve taken quite a few already). These stats were taken from my samsung DV300F and canon powershot SX170IS digital cameras.

    As described!

Micro SD is fiddly to get in to and out of my laptop slot. A faster card would always be welcome with more than 2 Tb of backups to copy, but those cards are substantially more expensive. Reliability and a genuine card from a trusted manufacturer was vital after previous fails.

These cards are ideal to use on SBC devices such as a Raspberry Pi, as they have the A1 classification.

That means they are excellent for random-access of the data in the card, which is a requirement for proper performance in these devices.

You get 2 of these for a very good price, so I see nothing wrong here with this deal!

I bought to extend memory on Switch, tend to purchase digital downloads, rather than physical games and was running low on internal storage. This was on offer and I thought might as well get the larger 1TB. Works fine, no issues, no major lag, quick to load. Would buy again.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have repeatedly fallen for the temptation of buying cheaper 512GB sd cards, it never pays off. As a rule of thumb, if it’s cheaper than 35, it’ll be fresh from Ali Express, cheaply manufactured and very cleverly designed to appear in windows as said capacity but the data integrity will show you otherwise. Stick with SanDisk every single time.

My Huawei P9 was full and I was having to delete useful apps just to keep the important ones working as they needed updating and I didn’t have the space for the update.
This new memory card has massively expanded my phone memory, it works well with my phone and PC and is reliable so far. If I have any issues with reliability down the line and I will update my review to say so, but so far so good.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersBought the SanDisk Ultra 128GB from the “Sandisk Store”.
150 MB/s “transfer speed” is the advertised speed. There’s no such thing as “transfer speed”: only read speed or write speed. These are about 100 MB/s read and 50 MB/s write, as shown in the CrystalDiskMark snapshot above. The back of the packet has the usual weasel words – but this was tested on 2 separate USB3 readers on different systems, with different block sizes, fully formatted and quick formatted etc etc. All with pretty much exactly the same results (within 3%).
I’m keeping my 2 SanDisks: they’re ok for what I need. A good price for this size.
Why did I give it a 5 star rating?
Who reads 3 star rating reviews??

    Good but not grea

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m no expert on Macs, but needed to shift some large video files off my Mac Mini, due to drive being full.
The cost of upgrading storage memory to a Mac is ridiculous, so thought I’d try this instead. Bought a compatible USB 3 stick where you plug the micro SD into the back. Then plugged the stick into the Mini.
No need to format. Just copied a large 4k 60fps file to the card. Out of curiosity, I tried playing it straight from the card. Ran as smooth as butter. Storage problems all solved for less than 25.
Next time I’ll buy the 500GB one. Very happy!
