Just fitted it, a simple process with a great picture, still playing with settings but so far so good
Compared to the expensive eufy cameras I have this cheap little wonder produces a better picture than it’s expensive counterparts. In fact when you zoom in it has far more definition than eufy, that’s an under 30 camera bettering a 100 camera.
It isent noticeable nice and neat whear I have i
We got this to watch our car it is very good camera quality for the price
Quick and easy to install. Good quality vision would recommend. Easy to follow installation instructions
I bought a very similar, if not identical, IMOU camera about 4 years ago. It failed a few months ago. No warranty left, not economic to repair and so yet another failed small electronics device to be disposed of. I replaced it with a newer IMOU model that claimed to have better night vision and was on offer. That one then failed after only a few months. Totally dead one day. But I was able to send it back under warranty to the Amazon Seller. They simply refunded me. So I was left with needing to buy a replacement. One of the reasons I went for an IMOU replacement last time is that I had subscribed to their cloud storage service. So, I could simply activate that service on the new camera. Well I say simply, but in fact it is a bit of a fiddle. As the service is per device, I had to delete the old device. That then says ‘canceling your subscription’. In fact it doesn’t but removes the device from the subscription and deletes all data. Then it recognised that I had a subscription but no device associated and so asked if I wanted to add one. That was less intuitive than it should have been but at the end of the day my subscription continues working on the new device. Being my 3rd IMOU device maybe I should have questioned the reliability but for continuity I have given them a 3rd chance. But if this one fails then not again.
Picture quality it great , easy to set up great product and a great price
Good picture quality even at night – But why does it have to show two red LED on the 4mp version when the 2mp one doesn’t! Footage is very good, the 2mp version of the same camera is also good, but the 4mp one has this major let down which makes it near useless for any sort of security monitoring, as the red led allows anyone to see it in the dark and disable it.
The software is also quite annoying to retrieve footage from – its easier to pull the sd card out of the camera to copy it than using the capture feature. I’d suspect this is deliberate to push people towards using their cloud subscription service, but this isn’t a viable option with low upload speed (sub 1Mbit for example in this case).
Happy with how the camera is working! Good price , great little camera!!
The camera is amazing, pictures are clear during the night as they are during the day. Only downside is that the motion sensors pick up vehicles driving past, cats, birds and insects despite it saying human detection! But other than that it’s been brilliant and has given me peace of mind so I’m able to sleep that bit better now.
This is a low cost camera with a good range of features and budget friendly price.
Installation of the camera is simple, just one cable is needed to supply the camera with power, though an ethernet cable can be used too if wanted to provide a hardwired connection to your network, useful if the camera is to be located where the wifi signal may be weak.
I opted to install without the cat5 cable as we have a few wifi repeaters around our house so we get a nice strong signal all over.
Setting up the camera in the app was a bit of a pain and didn’t go too smoothly, but once this was done i was pleased with how the camera works and performs.
The image quality is good, connection strength is strong and the night vision and motion detection features work perfectly.
Decent enough camera for use at home but wouldn’t i think be much use for any business or commercial users.
Easy setup but instructions are not 100% clear, password for connecting to camera is not listed anywhere (it’s the “safety code” on camera)
video quality is good being 4mp but I found the AI human motion detection doesn’t seem to work as designed and detects any movement as seen in the video, received an alert for moving vehicle even though I had AI human detection turned on.
Overall good quality with 256Gb SD card storage a plus (since most support 128gb at this price), would’ve been even better with two way audio & spotlight /alarm for deterrence but this can be found on other Imou models.
The camera was easy to setup and has lots of good functions. The two infrared LEDS that powers the night vision let’s it down. Anything beyond a few meters away is not captured. I will need to purchase an additional light source.
Good value for money, could have been better designed i.e. little thing but make a lot of difference in installation the power lead would be much better with plug into unit so that could be fed through holes from interior power points as is no way of disconnecting transformer plug from camera making installation a lot more difficult than needed.
For the money, it’s a good camera. There is an app which you can download, which allows you to set the night vision, format the SD card from your phone (so you don’t need to take the SD card out of the camera), view the image from anywhere as long as the camera is connected to wifi and take snapshots. The night vision is particularly good. The camera can be set indoors or outdoors, and as long as you turn the light off the camera, the night vision works well through glass (with no obvious reflection). It’s well made, good quality and can be put almost anywhere. It is mains powered though, so bare this in mind if you are putting outside. It also can be wireless or connected to an ethernet cable. Downside is, it won’t connect to a 5G wifi connection, only 2.4G. The SD card can fill up quickly, but it does take different sizes and the resolution can be adjusted. All in all, this is a good security camera, works well and gives peace of mind.
This is nice budget camera to provide security to your home and has most high-end CCTV’s basic functions.
It is made up of a plastic material and is equipped with IP67 weatherproof and dustproof design that will withstand bad weather conditions. It provides 4MP HD resolution which gives a crisp, clear image. The IR night vision feature is perfect for dark nights where you can visibly see up to 30M.
The camera has AI human detection that can send notifications directly to your phone when a motion is detected. This is a great feature as it prevents sending false alarms if it detects motion from animals, rain, insects, or anything else that moves past the camera’s lens. The built-in microphone also effectively picks up sounds clearly.
Included in this package is the camera, quick start guide, power adapter, screw package, installation position map, and waterproof connector.
Overall, it’s a good value for money and provides you with an excellent picture quality.
I have several cameras, but this camera is better than all of them. Great picture and options.
This camera is very well built and most importantly, the mount. The mount is very secure and feels strong. Once tightened, this camera doesn’t move unlike the others i have.
Easy installation and easy to use app. I had everything completely done within an hour. Everything works as it should.
You receive what appears to be a very well made outdoor security camera, build seems very good.
Installation is straight forward, download the app which is a good user friendly app, and you’ll be up and running in no time.
The image quality is very good, even in the dark
The app has lots of features, you are Evan able to communicate with audio.
I like this, the build is good, a great app, all very easy to install and good images.
We purchased an Imou indoor camera for our music room. I was really surprised and pleased with the product and decided to buy an outdoor camera for the back yard. It’s works really well. I now have proof that we have a badger visiting and digging holes in the lawn. I’ve ordered another indoor camera for downstairs.
Installation and setup of the external IMou camera was straightforward and much simpler than the Hive Camera. The picture quality and night vision are excellent. Both the indoor and external cameras are value for money.
We have two other external cameras (Hive and Tapo). I might replace them with iMou devices as this would simplify notifications and checking the cameras. Being a retired Silicon Valley Software Engineer, I give top marks to Imou for the phone app. I’d be happy to pay a few additional $’s to Imou if their app could also work with Hive and Tapo Cameras.
Very nice camera, Its much smaller than the bullet ones I own. Length wise its about 2/3 of the size but a little more on the chunky side. Installation is quite simple. Use the three screws included to screw into where ever you want to put it. If its going into wood then screw away but into anything else throw a rawl plug in first. You’ll need to get power to the camera but that quite easy. My temporary approach is just to thread it though a gap in the window. The power cable is just shy on 3m. That the job done.
The Imou Life app is very easy to use and it guides you though adding the camera to the application. One thing to note is that you will need to ensure that you have 2.4ghz wifi enabled on your router. normally it is but if your facing problems its the first place to check.
Once you have it added, you’ll find all of the normal camera options in quite an intuitive way. You can view the camera live with one click. You have the option of two ways to store your old footage, either through the inbuilt cloud or by putting a MicroSD card in it to view it locally. If your planning the SD card route, make sure you do this prior to sticking it up high as, you guessed it, you’ll need to get it down and put it back again.
Above that you can set up notifications so that if movement is detected your phone will let you know.
All in all pretty good camera
This is easy enough to put up and connect. It’s visible enough to put off intruders. Strong camera, picture quality is very good and the night vision facility is a real bonus. Makes me feel much safer. The recording is a great feature as it can re ord for 14 days whilst you’re on holiday. Also great it you’re being barraged in any form or just want to see what’s happened to a parcel delivery etc. Very good value
Installed this in the conservatory rather than outside due to it needing plugging in, slight down side is it does not pick up movement out side the window even on the most sensitive setting but that’s not the end of the world, picture quality is great and took around 5 minutes to set up for the price no complaints, only thing I have not figured out yet, I can here all sounds but can’t speak to anyone, probably something I am not doing right.
This is very easy to instal once you have power sorted, simply download the Imou Life app and scan the QR code to add the device, once set up the image quality is really great and much better than the 1080p one I had before, you can see so much detail with this, night vision is great and with the app, you can see your camera from anywhere in the world, it also records sound, all in all, a really good security camera that gets my recommendation to all.
4.5* Wifi security camera.
I was sent this in return for my honest opinion on it.
This is quite a good little security camera for the price. I currently have blinks and wanted an additional camera at the front so we tested this one. This camera can be connected via ethernet or you can use it wirelessly, which is good.
The camera is a nice design, not too heavy, seems durable and it’s weather proof. The size is roughly 7cm long, 9cm wide and 14cm deep. There are two 8cm long antenna on either side of the camera. The camera has a small length of cable, which attaches to the power cable, giving you around 300cm in length, to work with, this has a UK plug on the end.
The camera works with an app called ‘Imou life’. This is relatively quick and easy to set up, connect and get going. You can have up to 4 cameras, which will all be linked together on the app.
The app screen gives you a small view, or you can expand this, to a full screen view. You can record and take pictures from the live view. You can hear through the camera but I don’t think you can talk through it, which is a shame.
You have human detection and motion detection, which works quite well, this will notify you, when you open it will take you to live view. You can set it up so that the date and time is on the screen also.
The image is clearer than expected for a 4mp camera. This did lag a couple of times, I think this could of actually been due to my internet connection though. When I gave a direct source through ethernet, this then worked perfectly.
The night vision works well, not incredible but definitely enough to see what’s going on.
For the price, I would recommend it. Definitely a cheap, easy and effective way to keep up security within your home or workspace.
I wanted a cctv camera and looked at lots. I wanted one that I could fit through the window without drilling holes ideally but also one with a good quality picture. I really did spend days and days looking at lot on Amazon and lots of youtube reviews.
In the end, I settled on this because it had the promise of no cloud storage needed: it saves to micro SD card. It’s wifi, so I can ignore the supplied Power over Ethernet cable and just use the thin power cable to power it up and it gave a promise of great image quality.
I kid you not, from it arriving, it was installed and working in half an hour and it was a doddle.
In my case, I leaned out of the upstairs window and attached it to the underside of the eaves using the supplied template. I coiled up the ethernet lead as I’m not using it. I put some heat-shrink tubing on the power connector to waterproof it and used a hot glue gun to glue the white power cable down the side of the outside of the window and though the hinge and in to the inside.
You end up with a no-drill/no-hole installation which works a treat.
I’m so happy, I’m going to get another for the back!
First Bullet 2c was a present from my daughter but following pretty simple installation & initial evaluation I purchased and fitted a second one. Both of these now give good coverage of the complete front of my house and driveway.
In my case I also opted to fit a high capacity Micro SD card (128 Gbs) into the slot of each camera, thus allowing local storage and /or iMou’s Cloud stage plan/s if desired. One further point worth mentioning, I think, is that it’s likely you’ll need to buy an extension cable with a male + female connector plugs – one or the other at each end. This permits the adapter cable supplied with the camera to be plugged in from outside the premises to a reasonably conveniently situated 240V mains socket inside the house and also being within good WiFi coverage of the router if using WiFi rather than Ethernet cabling.
I hope this review and my experiences with this product to date will be of help to someone somewhere.
Have installed this outside underneath the eaves pointing up the road. Great field of vision, quality feel to the camera, looks much more expensive than its price, crystal clear HD (remember to take the film off the front we didn’t!). Power cable over 3m helped with the installation up high outside plugged in inside. All the “detection” is configurable which is important depending on the location / use of the camera (inside / outside / cars / pets / kids / audio). Using micro SD and will look at the cloud storage option too. Great app, totally intuitive. This is my second Imou camera I have a Ranger2 inside pointing out when we are at home and in when we are not and they are on the same app and I have to say totally delighted with both. 5 stars and will buy 2 more at least.
I was up and running very quickly due to easy to follow instructions, which was great. Once ready with the app the camera can be paired with it and you are good to go!
The app is impressive allowing the completely control of the camera from it. The camera itself does a great job of detecting motion and it does so in an intelligent way, which ensures that you only get alerted to human detection. Alerts are then sent very quickly to mobile via the app.
The picture on the camera is great in the day but so very impressive at night. Very clear. Excellent for our peace of mind.
This is my second camera from the same company. The first camera is still going strong and the reliability is excellent. OK on with the review. So I opened the box and the camera was up and running within 5 minutes. Connection to WiFi is strong and no delay. It uses the same software as my previous camera so now I have access to the front and back of my house within a swipe. Build quality looks good with no signs of weakness. Maybe it’s overkill having one of these cameras for the front of my house but I just like the extra security it brings. A new update on this camera is human detection so that I get less false alerts when the local badgers walk into my garden lol. No issues I can see with this product and much more than I expected for the price.
Installing it at my garden shed is easy and straight forward. Just download the app and follow the onscreen instructions and it took me half an hour to have it all set up and ready to go. You get option to record to a SD card (no included) or have the footage sent to their cloud service.
There is a encryption option where you can have all the video footage are encrypted so no one can have access to your video even if they managed to get access to your footage.
Both day and night video is clear and of high quality, I can watch the live feed or browse recorded video via my mobile phone anywhere in the world as long as I have internet access.
This item arrived safe and well packaged.
Included in the box was a very well built camera, with a USB lead and 3pin UK plug to power the device. A very well laid out instruction book is also included. This has all the details needed to connect and operate all aspects of this camera. It’s got plenty of pictures and screenshots included so it’s easy to know you’re doing the right thing.
It was very easy to find the app (there’s a QR code in the instructions or it’s easily searchable) and download it to my phone through Play Store. Once registered the camera connected within seconds. It was extremely straightforward.
The app is full of gadgets, and can fully control the camera from anywhere you’ve got internet signal.
You can record, change filters, change resolution, listen in, talk through etc etc. It’s packed with features as listed in the product spec.
This is one of the most advanced cameras that I’ve used. This is easier to connect and holds connection very well. It’s also got far more functionality! I wish it was around when I bought the first camera, as I would love to have a few more of these around the house.
These really do bring great peace of mind! And if the worst ever happens, fantastic evidence too!
I highly recommend this product.
