The multi route saves so much time and fuel, it will pay for itself in a few months
Use every day for work in lorry does the job
HGV driver for 15 years always use snooper does the job.
My partner bought this as his last Snooper Sat Nav broke . An updated version of his last one . As a Truck driver it is a good piece of technology to have !!! So far so good
But like any sat nav – Look at the road, I drive an artic but when I’m in Cardiff the sat nav will tell me to turn into terraced streets, even though the width, height, weight in place.
Also for the money – needs to be a bigger screen, bridge warnings need to be bigger.
But still A1 – the best I’ve ever had – bought so-called sat navs off eBay and what a waste of money.
Very good and nice to use, got me to around France and Spain easily, only issue is the volume of the guidance could be a bit louder as hard to hear over radio
I haven’t used this device enough yet to make serious comments but I find it hard to follow the car on the map. It’s not obvious from the map which turning to take; but the audio voice does make it clear.
An easy process of getting the information contained inside the item, easy to load directions and mapping is easy to follow.
Voice activation of route is good, repeating when approaching junction/roundabout..
Maps will update/upload by WiFi.
Fast delivery says it comes with life time free map updates when you first plug it in for the update it will say you need to pay 90 for it get intouch with snooper with proof you got it off amazon and as long as you have registered before hand they will activate the free update
I can’t believe there are people who buy tech and don’t poke around in the settings even if just to see what’s in there.
Anyhoo, touch main screen, then tap configure, then tap setup.
Once there you’ll see title tabs for many settings on the left which you can configure to your needs. Use up & down arrows on right to go to next page or previous page.
Keep tapping down arrow until you see My Speed. Tap that and you’ll see a screen like the one in the picture I’ve posted.
Just tap the class of vehicle you’re driving and Bob’s you’re auntie. Now the speed will be correct for your particular vehicle.
For other how to’s go to the snooper Web site and download the instruction manual. All the manuals for all their products can be found there.
As for the speaker, yes it’s poor but not unuseable. This is my 4th snooper and in my opinion they are top dog in not getting lost.
EDIT. I have just read one reviewer that Snooper customer services is rubbish. He admits he is not computer literate and had difficulties downloading an update. Firstly, every time I have had the need to contact their support services they have been very helpful.
For map updates you have to go to the Snooper web site, download their map updater software. Once it’s on your computer, open up the updater and follow the on screen instructions and before you can say supercalafajalisticexpiallidotious your Truckmate maps are updated providing there is an update for your machine. As a rough guide they put out map updates twice a year. If you require speed camera updates you will have to pay a yearly subscription for those. Speed cameras can be updated as many times during the year as you like, no limit.
While that is true, I strongly advise against it because as we all know the more times you format or write to an SD Card the shorter its life will become.
Like I’ve said, this is my 4th Truckmate since 2006, so they can’t be all that bad and my old DB8500 is still going strong which I still use as a back up if by some small chance my S6810 ever stopped working. I has done a couple of times where the software on the SD Card had become corrupted but Snooper Support sorted things out PDQ by sending me out a replacement card for the princely sum of 5.00.
We all know electronics with software is susceptible to the odd glitch.
I would recommend Truckmate whole heartedly over the other brands every time. That’s an opinion, my opinion, I’m not saying I’m right, different strokes for different folks but for me personally, they serve me well and I love ’em.
Happy driving people
have used it for 3 weeks no low bridges or height problems yet.
Good value for money.
Don’t like the new bracket. Feels like it’s going to snap, when you remove it for storage.
