Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this after 35 years with Canon after a trip to Iceland with my son who had one. I borrowed it for twenty minutes and did not want to give it back. It’s light, it’s easy to hold grip wise, the viewfinder is awesome if your eyesight is a bit aged.

It’s only fault is susceptibility to dust as you change lenses. That drives me mad. I bought a gadget that goes inside the camera that covers the sensor but it’s taking the dust, so it still can show up.

Overall, after 3 years use and 2.6m photos best camera ever had in 40 years of SLRs.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersLa mia esperienza con la A7iii stata di amore e odio a causa di un presunto difetto di fabbrica dell’otturatore per cui alcune foto uscivano parzialmente oscurate (con flash e luce naturale indistintamente).

Ho comprato un “usato come nuovo” su amazon warehouse, neanche 250 scatti quindi pari a nuovo. Condizioni esterne perfette e all’apparenza anche funzionali.

I’ve been a Sony shooter for 6 years now. I’ve been using the Sony A7 III since it was released. As a commercial photographer, this camera serves my needs well.

    – The autofocus is fast and accurate the majority of the time. One downside to the focus point is not having the ability to change its colour. Something addressed in later models.

    – The battery life is very good. When shooting events, I can typically shoot all day without the need to replace the battery.

    – The EVF and LCD display are not great. The low resolution is a frustration and significantly lower than other manufacturers.

    – The colours are the typical Sony colours. Something I personally am not a fan of. I believe the newer A7 IV has an improved colour science.

Overall, I would recommend this camera to anyone looking to get started with mirrorless cameras, upgrading from the A7 II, and professionals shooting weddings, events, or client marketing campaigns.

This is a big upgrade from the Nikon D610. Menu is comprehensive but offers lots of good settings especially auto focus. Its the best camera i have had for tracking and produces a sharp photo with the Sony 200-600mm lens. High ISO produces less noise than any other camera i have had and often use ISO4000 with telephoto lens and teleconverte

So far, I’m very pleased with my camera purchase. The A7iii feels solid, and has so many features, it is worth taking some time to really understand the menu system and set up the camera to how you want to use it out in the field. I have been impressed with the results so far, with great levels of detail and dynamic range in all lighting conditions. I spent many weeks researching full frame mirrorless cameras in this price range, and eventually decided on the A7iii, despite it being an older camera. Other brands are still catching up to the features this has to offer.

This camera is great. However, I am disappointed there was no external charger in the box. You have to charge the battery in-camera. Even my previous cheapest cheap camera had one. In addition, it is a bit heavier than I expected.

I previously had my a6000 for around 5 years (still a great camera in my opinion, if you’re a beginner looking to learn photography that is the camera I will still recommend) but with the constant sales around the a7iii I couldn’t resist and bought one myself. I normally pair this with the Sony 28mm f2 lens, which gives me constantly sharp results with great colours, even without doing any processing.

There are 5 things I love about this camera in comparison with my a6000:
    1) The battery life is significantly longer
    2) The grip is much more substantial and feels more robust
    3) The colour science from Sony has improved a lot
    4) Eye-af is an excellent feature when doing portraits
    5) The low-light game on this lens is insane

All in all, I think this is a perfect all rounded camera for any semi-pro to professional users.

5.0 out of 5 stars Significant upgrade from a6000 series

Unbelievable piece of kit wether you pair it with Sony lenses, sigma art or even adapt some.old school vintage lenses for amazing results. The only slight issue I have is the menu system takes a little getting used to but I cannot fault the auto focus, image quality or battery life for a mirrorless camera

Great camera overall, it takes time to get familiar with all the buttons and the menu is not that great. but its possible to slowly master it. Probably its the same for all such cameras, but Sony is known to mess about with the menus. Alas, if you want, you will learn how to operate it…

    Gracias por leer hasta aqu.
    Un saludo.

    Full frame en estado puro.

    Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersFirst of all, I am coming from Nikon D750. I loved that camera, and still I am in love with it but a couple features of this camera made me to switch. These were;
    * on body image stabilisation
    * no need for lens calibration
    * stellar eye AF
    * AF points coverage
    * Tilt screen and AF while using tilt screen. Nikon D750 was really bad on this.

Personally, I wasn’t excited about moving to Sony, because their brand does not create same kind of image on my mind. It is not a Nikon or Canon for me. However this camera is very good. Its build quality and ergonomics are not good as my good old D750, not anywhere near good. When I first bought this camera, my wife saw it and said that “So you have bought a toy camera”. Because she was used to my D750 and other Nikon DSLRs before that. Then I explained the differences and made a quick demonstration. After that she really liked it.

Currently I am really happy with it. I hope lens diversity increases anytime soon.

Coming from 3 Canon DSLRs, I jumped to Sony when I switched to full frame. The A7iii is an amazing camera all round, yes there are some things such as no proper battery charger (USB charger) included and the back screen isn’t as high quality as my A7r ii but these things help keep the cost down. The camera is worth every penny and the AF performance is nuts, I’ve never seen anything like it before. It’s an incredible camera with so many goodies built in and pro features like dual SD card slots. The battery life is excellent compared to previous versions and lasts as long as the previous DSLRs I have owned. If you are making the jump to full frame or just want something to completely outperform an equivalent Canon or Nikon then this is the camera for you.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersJust bought an A7 III to replace my Fuljifilm X-T2.

I mainly bought it for personal stuff – like taking on holiday etc, but I discovered the image quality of the A7III is absolutely brilliant – almost as good as my Canon 5D MK4. Indeed, I believe it has a wider dynamic range than the 5D. I initially used it with my Canon L series lenses (via an MC-11 adaptor) and it works very well. I now use it with the Sony 24-105 f4 G OSS lens and the quality is fantastic – slightly better than my Canon 24-105 f4l lens.

If I were to make a few comments about it, it would be these:

The AF is very good, much better than the X-T2, but there is still room for improvement. I used the A7 on a portrait shoot with a toddler and sometimes it had difficulty keeping up with the subject. On my 5D I rarely had no such problems, but for everything else, I’m sure it will be perfectly good.

The camera is prone to sensor dust. The sensor cleaner (if you call it that) function does not clean the sensor automatically when the camera is switched off.

The auto white balance is not great – it leans to making the photos too warm. Although this does not present too much of a problem if you shoot Raw.

The doors on the side of the camera where you access the various sockets feel very flimsy – and I doubt these are not weather sealed.

It doesn’t come with an external charger, but with a charge cable that’s far too short. Come on Sony – be a little bit more generous!

The EVF (Viewfinder) resolution could be better. Also the spirit level (to make your horizons straight) in the Sony EVF is more intrusive compared to the X-T2’s equivalent – but you do get used to it.

The Sony menu is huge. I think that could be simplified.

A higher res monitor screen would be nice and its touchscreen capabilities are very limited.

The above are just small niggles and I am confident that over the months I’ll get used to its little quirks, but at the end of the day its down to the image quality – which is insanely good. Unquestionably the best I’ve ever seen on a mirrorless camera. It makes you want to go out and take photos – something that the X-T2 didn’t. When you compare it to the Canon range, you really get the feeling that Canon have dropped the ball over the last few years.

I am a professional portrait photographer and this would be good enough to use on my day to day work – but at this stage not as my main camera. But I reckon that when it comes, the A7 MkIV will absolutely nail it for me to move over fully to Sony.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThere’s been a lot of talk of this being the messiah of cameras, and that everyone should jump ship and move to Sony mirrorless, I feel this is all very fanboyish and not helpful if this is a camera you’re considering, or perhaps wondering what the fuss is about. This camera doesn’t do everything brilliantly, the menu system while better isn’t the best, it’s weather sealing is reportedly not great, its screen and EVF lag behind the new competition in terms of resolution, and what I’d give for the screen to flip out fully….but this doesn’t prevent the 5 star review….let me explain why.

This isn’t Sony’s flagship camera, that’s the A9 and twice the price, I’m not expecting everything to be perfection, and even if it was, it would likely be a subjective perfection. We all shoot for distinct reasons, we have different sized hands and different expectations and needs, for example a camera is something we physically hold and if it doesn’t feel right, is a bit uncomfortable then that’s a BIG concern, it will detract from the fun and something you’ll have to live with for extended periods. So, this review is all based on MY needs, MY expectations, and for me this is a spot on 5 stars.

I’ve been a Sony owner for a long time now. The day I read about mirrorless cameras was the day I bought one, I wanted something smaller, easier to carry and more fun to be with. I ditched my dust covered, hardly used, dSLR and jumped to the Sony 5n, and loved it, it was well used and well loved. I was happy taking it with me, and so it got used a lot more. Then, as my skill level improved, I went to the A6000 where I made a big investment in lens, and my game was raised even further I started to get the full frame itch last year, some of it was to gain additional dials and custom buttons that Sony’s APS-C cameras lack, silly stuff, but mainly I wanted better low light, more depth of field fun, and I wanted to see how this changed my photography. Turns out it was changed for a different reason, one I didn’t really consider, and that was what the A7’s Autofocus!

I had to sacrifice hard to buy this camera; plan was to get a reduced mark 2 until I started reading how good the mark 3 was, so I had to trade in my A6000 and all lens to afford this. I had to manage with just one lens after purchase, the 55 1.8, which forced me to be a bit creative (I’ve a 35mm too now), but what has just made this camera SO MUCH FUN is the autofocus and this is the biggest reason I’d recommend this camera.

Now, I know that the A6000 wasn’t known for its great AF, I get that coming from that to this isn’t going to act as a good comparison for those that come from cameras where the AF is better, but all I can tell you is this….this camera almost never misses. It’s astonishing. With the A6000 I would face a day of disappointment if I took anything remotely resembling action, be it kids at a wedding to a cycling event, but the A7 brings a confidence that means I can now spend time worrying about composition and exposure, and not trying to use mind-power to make the AF hit the spot. You cannot underestimate what this brings to your photography, it’s a level of confidence that frees up your mind to enjoy the good stuff, the fun stuff and nearly removes entirely those moments of sadness when you enlarge that awesome shot to realise that the focus was just ever so slightly out.it’s such a gutting feeling.

Here’s a few other, lesser important thoughts. It was a big bigger than I expected, now I know that this is something that can very easily be predicted, it’s not like its size information isn’t available or there aren’t photos of it that demonstrate the scale, but when I held in my hands I thought “Oh, that’s a bit bigger than I thought”.dirty minds kick in?. That said, I love how it feels in MY hands, and it feels a quality piece of kit (which it darn well should!).

The A6000 used to annoy me when I was using the screen and my hand covered the EVF sensor, turning off the screen. The A7 doesn’t do this, I’m guessing when you tilt the screen it has the sense to know you’re not using the EVF and just turns it off.

Eye-AF. More autofocus joy and another element of the camera that is just spectacular. But, took me ages to work out how to enable this, and in the end had to google it. You have to assign it to a custom button, there’s no specific menu option for it.

That’s it really. If you buy it you won’t be disappointed….even if it doesn’t have a separate battery charger (did someone really give it one star over that….they do know you can charge directly in the camera?) Oh…that reminds me, battery life on this is fantastic too, you’ve no worries there!

    Good luck and enjoy!

Inizio a scattare e fare video in 4K a 25 fps.

***AUTOFOCUS, DISPLAY, MIRINO ELETTRONICO E MENU***

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersMirrorless cameras have come of age and the A7III is amongst the best of them. Sony have been steadily improving these cameras and I think this generation are nearly peerless (maybe with the exception of next gen Fujis in the crop sensor world).

If you want a full frame sensor then this is the camera to buy. It’s fast, it has incredible dynamic range and there is minimal noise all the way to 12800. For those wondering, I used to own an A7RII and I can honestly say that I have not noticed the drop in resolution when sharing or showing off my photos.

In summary – this is definitely the camera of the year and I’ve not regretted picking one up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding camera

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersSold without a battery charger does not make the camera a one star product!

Believe the hype. I have no time to go into specifics. Yet, I can tell you that all the YouTube and magazine reviews giving this camera the big thumbs up are not lying and, it seems I’m the only person writing a ‘review’ that actually owns the camera and is telling the truth.

The A7III is trading blows with cameras twice it’s price. Sony glass to compliment the A7III’s performance can be expensive, namely the G and G Master lenses. Aftermarket chargers and batteries are available on Amazon – batteries are not a real issue, nor is the menu system. It only took me a few minutes to learn the immediate basics – a couple of hours later I’d mastered the menus.

In short, results are fantastic. Pictures are incredible, tracking (especially eye tracking) and low light are truly magnificent and, video is some of the best, if not the best in the sub 5,000 market.

Golden Review Award: 75 From Our UsersThis is not a perfect camera AND it has a new but still too complicated menu system AND they took away the sony apps AND there is no battery charger (which I really find a bit mean of Sony) but I knew all these things beforehand. HOWEVER for the price, which is not cheap, there is nothing like it. Sorry I am not knocking Canon or Nikon but really at this price point there is, at present, no competition. If I wanted to buy a DSLR I would, but i didnt.
I have shot Sony (not exculsively) for over 7 years and this is the best. I love my A7rii but my computer hates it. Sure if you want to crop 42mp is ideal, but why not get it right to start with. 24mp for daily/general use is perfect and your computer will love you for it. If you know how to use this camera its amazing but remember it is YOU who takes the picture, not the camera.
This camera is not for everybody but what I do not understand is how anyone can spend 2000 and not have researched or tried it beforehand and then complain about things that have been well documented. If you are new to Sony try it out first. If you are a sony user you will not be disappointed. The Sony A7Riii and the A9 are better and several 0000`s more but neither have the combined features this has.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersAfter owning various Nikon crop and full frame sensor cameras over the years, and finally settling on Olympus M4/3 for the reduced size, this is the camera that’s tempted me back to full frame. There are already many very comprehensive reviews, so I won’t go into too much detail. However, a few of the main pros/ cons.

Superb price for the tech that’s in this camera. Blows other manufacturers out the water in that regard.

USB C charging is extremely convenient.

    Image quality is exceptional.

Autofocus, particularly the eye feature is amazing.

Controls are good and it’s comfortable to hold.

Menus could be a little better, but coming from Olympus I’m sure I’ll get used to a bad menu system quickly.

I feel this system is the future of serious hobbiest, as such I think it’s a wise investment as the lens ecosystem will only get stronger.

    All in all, highly recommended!
