picture stunning, really nice tv only thing not to keen on remote very clumsy and sticks sometimes if problem continues will speak to Sony but other than that very happy
Brilliant crisp picture and sound quality is good too worth every penny don’t hesitate to buy this tv you won’t be disappointed.
Love the picture, not so keen on the Android TV front end. My wife mutters each time she has to navigate multiple levels to find what she wants. Still, great picture, nice and responsive, plenty of settings to tinker with (well, enough for me…). The ability to fit the feet in multiple positions turned out to be an unexpected benefit.
I’m sure my wife will get used to the interface, but at the moment that’s her biggest gripe. me, I am quite happy!
Worth waiting a year for this model to drop from its original price, 1700, to just 998. Nice natural colour, none of the mauvish tint you get with cheaper LED models, or the slight fade towards the screen edges…edge to edge perfection. Will use it for Blu-ray and 4k films only, DVDs look speckly when played on a large High Res screen, and broadcast TV appalling…I no longer watch TV for this reason, save the license fee, put it towards top gear like this. Takes about 20 mins to set up, it’s a computer after all, not just a screen. Stunning for home vids shot in 4K at 90 or 120 FPS, shot on dedicated video camera or SLR (mobile footage shows you just how awful camera phone videography really is).
The side located connectors are so close to the edge that cables stick out, the bottom slots are inset and easier to conceal. Feet are metal and solid, not the wobbly plastic from budget or mid range models. Screen surface takes finger marks easily so get some very soft lint-free cloths of the lens-polishing type. Sound is on the soft booming bass-heavy side compared to cheap models and takes a while to normalise to your hearing, but is fine when it does. Could do with a tad more mid range, which you notice missing from most female voices and classical music. But again, this normalises to your hearing after a while.
Some of those often-used functions are mystifyingly buried deep in layers of settings menus, you wonder who Sony listen to when taking feedback on their tech, certainly not their domestic customers. But that’s par for all tech mega-corporations….
Great picture and sound. Easy to set up. My only issue is with the feet which were difficult to fit into the TV and appear to be at slightly different heights as a consequence
his tv is a very good upgrade from lcd 4k tv , good black levels contrast, better colours, sharper picture, goole tv is smooth and fast, no motion blur on football, the only thing i hate is sometimes i have to adjust peak brightness because some programs on tv are too dark and some too bright, same on prime, some movies are very dark, with hdr so its better left off on some movies, and the picture is still excellent without hdr, better than lcd and qled due too superior contrast and sony picture processing.
s a chap that usually buys Samsung tvs as I like the picture quality how surprised I was with this tv. The picture was truly amazing and the sound was too. I would highly recommend this tv to anyone who’s serious about their tvs. Amazing it truly is
Great telly really pleased great picture very clear and sharp
Great value and brilliant picture – arrived very quickly and securely
Absolutely blown away by the picture and sound for the money. Would definitely recommend!
Bought this telly while was on good price, while b4 Xmas and was also in stock. With pic&sound set up on Vivid picture and sound looks quality. I kind of was trying to get other telly on BlackFriday but the prices were almost the same so i wait couple days more and the telly was 300 cheaper and i dont regret buying it. With Contrast at 90′, Black Level at 50′, Gamma at 0′ and Peak Luminance at High’ with own brightness setting you should get the best quality picture.
The picture is sharp, but even more impressive is the subtle differences in colour change. the image is the most lifel ike that I have ever seen. There is a button at the side, that enables you the flick through the menus without using the remote. Its certainly less awkward than the Philips that I have. The sound is impressive, although I have to say I have a Sony HT-G700 soundbar, that trumps it in every way and once you have both HDMI cables (Sony X800 Blu-ray player & TV) connected to the soundbar it synchs in beautifully together. I have a Humax FVP_5000T PVR which is a bit slow with the TV and I’ve found If I use the Blu-ray player, I then have to manually select the HDMI port to use the PVR again. But this is a minor grip.
This is a great TV for the money. Great picture and for a modern TV with its own built in speakers it doesn’t sound bad either though if you want to watch films etc with surround sound I’d still add a dedicated external sound system.
The picture and sound quality are exceptional. Setting up was complicated so I had to get a friend to sort it for me. I’m 68yo and not Tec minded. With Google TV I have lost BBC Teletext which I miss. A good buy but at the upper end of the market.
