I wear these ones on my trips to the airport and they are great. You will have a peaceful time even surrounded by noise people.
I am not an expert about sound quality, but I feel they sound really well.
Great wireless buds, noise cancelling is best I’ve come across.
Mic quality improved a lot, battery lasts apx 6-7h in office. Case dont have wireless charge.
Sound quality and connection are great.
I wear these on a motorbike daily and they fit under the helmet nicely, hence the small requirement.
The noise cancelling can’t cope with the bike noise but I dint expect it to.
The app for controls is pretty good to set up and change the functions of each bud.
Battery life is less than my precious but these are a lot smaller, so is the case.
They work independantly so you can use just one at a time but be aware, if you have Google assistant checked in the app, you lose this function and can’t use one of them, the left I think, by itself.
Overall, definitely recommend and if I lost one, I would hesitate to buy again.
I watched a lot of youtube reviews of these before buying and they came across as a ‘not bad’ option. When I got them I was blown away by the quality of the sound, the noise cancelling and the size and weight. They sound really good for the money spent –anyone that says they don’t sound good must be a total audiophile. They are very light and fit comfortably in the ears without feeling like they’ll fall out (for me anyway).
I had a pair of Bang & Olufsen E6 and I much prefer these for their sound, fit and look.
The sinus don’t fall out of my ears and you can wear them all day with no pain.
Good battery life, get about 7 hrs on a flight between charges
The last ones were better with noise cancelling but were always falling out of my ears.
With these they stay in and don’t hurt my ears. Can even wear them to bed.
If you are looking for amazing sound quality I think the previous / other models may be better but these are okay and worth it for the comfort.
I bought the ecru colour as they were much cheaper, but they do look like hearing aids in this colour.
Not the best earbuds but for the price they are really good
Noise cancellation is excellent
Light asf
Little uncomfortable to put them in, they keep falling ou
Cons: hard to change the buds, feels like it would fall off
The bass is decent but not as strong as other earphones in this range.
It definitely lacks in control customisation – I don’t want to chose from preset touch controls, I want to be able to customise what I touch.
The best thing about them is weight and comfort. I can easily wear them all day and barely feel them in my ears. This however sacrifices battery but the fast charging compensates that enough.
The capacity of the case battery is very low but that is understandable too considering the size and weight of the case.
Lastly the connection to phone is instant but the app takes too long to load the connection and enable the app controls, so I typically start listening under whatever settings there are for the first 5 minutes until the app loads. I read this same issue in other reviews.
After reading comments on Reddit, I believed it could be a bug in the latest update (Multi-point connect) and returned the headphones. Two weeks later, I decided to purchase another pair (to give them a second chance) but decided to use them without the app, just connecting to Bluetooth. I used them for one hour, charged them to 100%, and then used them for four hours before encountering the same noise which you can hear in the video below and wind noise.
With no firmware updates or apps involved, I am in shock as to how this could happen with a brand like SONY. I am returning them again and will be switching to some of the other mid-range brands for good.
Let me add that I’m not a fan of in ear earbuds as I find them painful but I accept the need for ear sealing for noise isolation as part of and.
So what makes these sony linkbuds s so great?
Firstly, you are going to say wow that’s great sound as soon as you put them on. There’s a richness to it with solid base that blows the airpods pro mark 1 out if the equation. Its really very vert brilliant up there and maybe better than bose.
I always test ANC to White noise plane background on YouTube and these to an excellent job and a large part is fit (see below) . It’s not going to move the world but it is very good and much better than some mid range sonys I’ve had. Besides when the music sound is this good this is all you’ll hear.
There is the weight and size and design. These are a third of the weight of the xm s and all the better for it. The design is a perfect fir your ear and fits like a glove. Sony use recycled plastic and OK it doesn’t look as Premium as the xm s but with sound comfort and price like this who cares.
Then there’s price. These came out at 180 and now they are regularly 120. That’s less than half the price of airpods pro 2 and the new bose and overall their brilliant.
I wanted excellent sound great anc and good comfort and I got all of that with superior comfort. Buy them . You won’t be disappointed.
Note to Sony– get your mobile phone design sorted and stop that 21: 9 sorted and bring back a xperia 3 so I can use sony with sony (sorry for typos– did this on my phone)
My decision was made on sound quality, size and noise cancelling capability.
I use my buds for travelling (airports) dog walking and running. The sound quality is very good and the noise cancelling impressive.
Never once fell out or even felt like they were going to fall out. Very comfortable after hours of use.
Would highly recommend
It’s sit very tight in my ears, without any problem. The sound is OK. I didn’t know how good there are for talking outside.
I would recommend to a friend.
Sound is okay, I generally prefer a punchier sound particularly the bass. The battery life could be better but I can get minimum 4hours play from each earpiece before needing a charge. Overall, I’m very pleased with them
The battery case is v.small and light and the buds slip in to the case with a satisfying magnetic click. The right ear bud, has a distinctive “R” in red text, on the reverse side, just to stop you popping them into the wrong ear! I use them with my Samsung Phone and IPad with no issues. I love them. Well done Sony, great job.
Configured in the app to be max noise cancelling all the time and music quality over connectivity.
Noise Cancellation is amazing. Not quite my over-ear XM4 good (even with foam buds), but not far off. Markedly better then the APPros.
Sound quality is also very good. They’re not quite as stereo as I’d like, but a big step up from the APPros.
Where they let me down
Not quite as comfortable. Miles better fitment than the last gen Sonys, but the Airpods are better to live with. Every time I try to re-seat the Sonys I end up pausing music, skipping tracks or switching off noise cancelling. A bit annoying.
And the biggy – wind noise when cycling is terrible.
I cycle a bit and the wind roar at anything over 10mph is awful. Upper-mid too so it’s very uncomfortable.
I’m not sure why tbh. It sounds like it’s bypassing some of the noise cancelling and is feeding it in as it did it with foam buds on them too and it doesn’t sound like a particularly natural wind noise.
If I turn my head side on to the wind it goes away, but I can’t cycle looking the wrong way.
It’s not even like a small amount. It’s very loud.
They’re really good other than that.
Let’s go to pros:
– I really like their design. Someone can say it’s cheap, but I find the raw plastic surface on the case and earbuds very satisfying. They look minimalistic and ergonomic. Also, I’ve already put the case in my key pocket and got some little scratches, however, they are hardly noticeble because of the material.
– They are really comfortable. Super light and easy for ears. All my previous experience of earbuds was significantly different. I can wear them for a long time and don’t need to correct their position every 10-15 minutes. My ears are not perfect for this kind of devices and they look a bit out of my ears, but these earbuds are actually a very good fit.
– Sound quality is definitely excellent. Good amount of bass, good equalizer control. Perhaps, panorama is not too wide, but it’s fine for most music. Impressive for the speakers that small.
Features like noice cancelling, transparency mode work alright. I can’t say that I’m impressed, but they do their job on a level that satisfies me. Microphones quility is also good. I think, due to their position on the earbuds, they can’t provide 360 feeling, but I can hear people when I’m wearing them. There’s a microphone bug in Zoom: I can hear some noise when I’m having Zoom calls and the earbuds use low quality codecs. But hopefully it can be also fixed soon.
I can recommend these earbuds if you need good quality sound, comfortable listening (maybe workouts) and proper call quality. Even though they are not perfect, I don’t regret buying them.
Update Nov 22: they’ve added multiple device connection, so the earbuds automatically connect to my laptop and phone when I put them out of case. A pretty nice feature, I feel it needs a bit of polishing with the next updates though. However, the fact that they deliver new features is very good.
