It’s great value for money, good sound quality with the right speaker set up, also very easy to handle, assemble and operate. All around it is a perfect record player.
Decided to make the move back to vinyl and bought this turntable based on reviews from various sources (What Hifi, TechRadar etc.). All agree it punches above its price point. I am currently using it connected via Bluetooth. Set up was super quick, including some assembly out of the box. Sound is great, though I’m no audiophile.
Only one downside and that is your bank balance will take a hit as you discover long lost vinyl treasures on ebay!
Nothing to dislike with this deck, it looks great and connects easily to Bluetooth speaker or headphones. The set-up is also easy, the belt just needs hooking around the pulley and the lid fits on 2 hinges, (these will be taped in the box so don’t worry they are in there.
The turntable arrived on time and was very well packaged. All the components were present and in good condition. All in all it took about 45 minutes to put together. We connected it to our Samsung soundbar first time via BT and it connects automatically when turned on. For the price the sound quality is excellent. Recommended.
Honestly – I wanted this because it looks beautiful and the reviews were good. Easy to set up – do follow the instructions! Also easy to link to Bluetooth speakers. Sound great. Would absolutely recommend.
I bought this as a present. Set up was straight forward and connectivity to Bluetooth devices easy. Sound quality is very good, it gives you the sound that only vinyl can provide. Goes well with SONY’s SRS-XG300 Portable Bluetooth Speaker. The only problem is the price of vinyl these days but that isn’t my problem. 🙂
The hardest part was attaching the drive belt and that took about 3 minutes. In total 20 minutes after arriving it was up and playing, wonderful!
It sounds excellent and looks great. I guess you can spend more and get better but this for me has been perfect.
Highly recommended.
We wanted a Bluetooth turntable and had returned a cheaper brand which sounded tinny. This is far better and we now enjoy listening to all our 80’s 90’s vinyl plus have added to our collection. Would recommend.
Brilliant bluetooth turntable for the price. Connects to all my various bluetooth speaker devices instantly.
Sound good enough for me with 70s to early 90s record collection.
One note on connectivity- it took many attempts to connect to my Samsung soundbar with woofer. I needed to place the turntable right next to the speaker to pair them. Then it connects ok (usually, sometimes a few attempts are required, not for any small speakers around the house, just the main sound bar which connects to the main tv for most if the day).
Overall really happy with it.
If you are looking for an high end record player, look elsewhere but to play some of your old records via Bluetooth (I use the ht-a9 sound system by Sony) then this is the most comfortable solution unless you already own a separate amplifier with audio in. The connection was easy and quickly done, likewise is the operation of the player and any setup (unpacking). The sound is good, what I felt was an occasional jumping of the needle when the base kicks in and I had to turn down the subwoofer as there is also a low hum throughout. With the subwoofer very low or off sound is good but by no means comparable to a dedicated record player where the needle is interchangeable. For a simple way to listen to your old records via existing sound bars and similar multimedia streamers with Bluetooth in, like from a phone, this is for me a very good compromise.
This was a gift for father-in-law’s 80th birthday – he has a mini Hi-Fi with an Aux input but has lacked a Record deck for best part of 20 years. He still has a core record collection of his favourites, so we thought he’d enjoy a new deck that integrates with his existing kit.
There are a lot of awful new decks out there, and there are somer decent but expensive ones, so this sat perfectly in the middle. We didn’t want bells and whistles; just a half-decent deck with a built in Phono stage. The deck is incredibly lightweight which is not normally something you seek in a deck but it seems to work fine and the audio quality over the cable is absolutely fine for the purpose. The fully automatic arm mechanism works well.
The bluetooth was a bonus feature but has turned out to be really handy – we also bought him a pair of Anker Bluetooth headphones, and now he can wander around listening to his music without disturbing my mother-in-law, so everyone is happy!
He’s over the moon with the deck and the only problem now is that he’s taken to buying more vinyl!
Was looking for a turntable for my wife who wanted to play her old vinyls. Didn’t want to go through the expensive of having a separate amp or painful setup (switch on this then this then this). So this turntable is ideal – the setup is so easy – paired it with a Sonos Move speaker and also to a set of BT headphones – just press the button on the turntable then the BT device and it worked first time…no hassle. The sound quality is spot on – even get the crackle and hiss from the vinyl coming through. The controls on the turntable are brilliant – start, stop and up/down for the arm…the start is controlled for either 7 or 12 inch and just effortlessly and automatically moves the arm into place to start the play back…same for stop – up/down for manual movement of the arm to a certain track.
I would recommend this turntable – yes it’s over 200 but the quality is there and looks neat on the side.
Now the expense of buying vinyls….
Overall I am very pleased with this turntable but would like to point a few things out to help any other prospective buyers.
I sold my very expensive turntable (& Hi-Fi) a few years ago and went down the Airplay/Bluetooth route. But recently decided to add this turntable. I found it connected very easily to both of my Bowers & Wilkins Bluetooth speakers and am now using it Bluetooth to one and Line-In to the other. The sound is pretty good but I have noticed it plays some sort of vinyl better than others. It is a little dissapointing on the heavier (180g) vinyl that is very popular again on re-issue Lp’s at the moment, which is a bit of a shame but overall it’s pretty good for the money. The turntable has some nice features, and is very easy to set-up and use. My main gripe, apart from the heavy vinyl issue, is the fact that this turntable (which looks very nice by the way!) is very light and rather flimsy. Just closing the lid causes the whole thing to move!
Overall though, i would recommend this as a very good value, easy to use and versatile turntable.
This is the best sounding record player I have ever heard! I bought this for my daughter as she wanted a record player for Christmas. I chose this one for its Bluetooth connectivity so she could connect to wireless headphones and play her “music” quietly in her bedroom! We tested it first by connecting to our Pioneer AV receiver via Bluetooth. Connected straightaway. It did drop out once but that seems to have been a one off so far. I am absolutely blown away by the sound quality! Next to no hiss and crackle, even when playing some really old LP’s we’ve got. It’s brought these LP’s back to life! We did have an issue getting it to connect to an old set of headphones via Bluetooth, it just wouldn’t connect. But it connected ok to other wireless earphones with no problems.
Build quality looks to be very good. It’s maybe a bit light and could do with being a bit heavier to avoid accidentally moving it about when pushing the buttons on the front, but that’s not a major problem. Overall, I would say that this is a fantastic record player and the technology has come on in leaps and bounds since I was a kid listening to records in my bedroom. My wife and I will probably get one of these now for ourselves, to listen to our old records once again!
I was given an ION record player and a couple of records as a gift 3 years ago. As my record collection has expanded (over 50 records now) i have felt I was being let down by my entry level player. Not knowing anyone else with a record player I was unsure if background hiss and annoying noise was common for all record players . I can assure now that it is not!
The upgrade from an entry level (100ish) to the Sony Turntable is incredible. I can now finally appropriate what vinyl listeners have been going on about all these years. This turntable is pure quality strait out of the box. It took me a little over 5 minuets from unpacking, some basic assembly, too sitting back a listening Radioheads Kid A in its best format.
Like most people I have invested in improved sound systems for my TV and my hi-fi system has become a little dated. The ability to be able to connect this record player to my TV’s sound system (sound bar with bass amp) was a real pull. The connectivity was simple and worked without issue . When the music started I could not believe the sound quality both at high and low levels. There was zero hiss or background noise allowing you to really focus on the rich detail of the sound, and not the annoying noises!
This record player gets 5 stars from me and really is worth the upgrade from an entry level model. It was really easy to set up, easy to connect to a Bluetooth speaker and sounds amazing. What more can I say 🙂
I bought the Sony PS-LX310BT as an upgrade from a “briefcase” style record player, and I am both extremely satisfied and impressed with my purchase.
Setting up the turntable is super easy, everything is packaged well and is truly a plug and play experience. It would have been nice to be able to remove the audio cables protruding from the rear of the unit but its not a big issue, I kept them tied and have hidden them behind the unit it’s is placed on.
5 minutes after unpacking all the components I had the turntable set up and connected to my bluetooth speaker (Amazon echo). I have also tried to connect this to an older Samsung soundbar however for some reason it will not play though it even though it seems to pair fine via bluetooth, this however could be an issue with my soundbar and not the turntable.
The sound produced is rich and clear, much better than the tinny speakers built in to my previous turntable also the gain switch on the back of the turntable meant I could easily adjust the sound for quieter recordings.
The turntable is definitely lighter than I expected but I have not experienced any movements from pressing the buttons on the from of the unit to start, stop and raise/lower the tone arm.
The dust cover has a slight dark tint which in my opinion looks great as opposed to a purely clear plastic and suits its clean and modern design.
Overall a fantastic product for the price and the stand out features of being fully automatic and of course bluetooth connectivity are great for someone like me who just wants to stick on an album and listen rather than spend hours fiddling with different settings. 5 Stars, highly recommended.
