We use this radio in the garden and camping very good value for money
I bought this mainly for the radio but also for the CD player.
Great sound from this unit this is the second unit I bought I had ordered a make I had never heard of it wasn’t good so I reverted to my default make Sony,I’m pleased DAB radio very good and able to long forgotten cds .
It has clear sound when playing CDs. Clear set up & clear display.
Good little product. Used by children to listen to audio cds. Would recommend.
The CD/USB/DAB+/FM boom box is neat and pleasant to look at. Controls are all easy to access and as said clearly labelled. CD is top loading and the USB port is on the front, which aids access. The LCD display is reasonably clear and whilst nit big, is not too small either. I have seen worse. Tuning to Heart 70s only took presses of two buttons after power on. Actual tuning required multiple presses of the + tuning button. And that’s the first little gripe. The LCD display doesn’t seem to follow or respond to your press so doesn’t change until you stop pressing to see what station you are on. That’s a bit of a bind as it makes tuning a but of guesswork.
Playing a CD is a case of popping disc in top, waiting for it to read data, and press the big play button. Similar for USB, though obviously you will have to scroll through to find folder or album you want yo play.
Sound is acceptable for the 2 x 2 watt speakers. Not too distorted at higher volumes. I think the title boomnox may be stretching it a bit though. But I am not best placed to judge quality a I wear hearing aids.
All in all, this is not a bad little audio system. Sony are a good brand so hopefully you will not ho wrong with this. Enjoy.

Wife has this on everyday as it is simple to use
Only three buttons for pre-set radio stations. The unit is always on stand-by meaning that the only way to switch it of totally is to disconnect it from the mains. The CD insert door on the top is very sensitive in that you only need to touch it lightly and it opens. It needs to have a more secure locking mechanism.
Bought this for our 86 year old mother for Christmas. She loves it. Easy to use and a good sound.
5 stars for this product. It was bought for one of my sons Xmas presents. And was absolutely delighted with it. Easy to use and defiantly easy on the pocket.

There are reports of poor sound…. NOT MY MODEL it sounds very clear and sharp and as loud as you could possibly want it. excellent value from amazon .
This model looks good anywhere I put it in the house. 10/10 HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED! VERY SATISFIED.
You wont have a problem tuning it at all if you follow the instruction sheet.
We wanted something to play cd`s with a DAB radio not to large and with easy to operate radio preset buttons. This SONY is perfect in every way,
3 most used station buttons, good sound and size you could not ask for any more for the price.
So,it’s on standby,I press “OPERATE” button,and all you get is “WAITING”,ie,nothing happens.
Pull out and reinsert power cable,and it works,though you have to retune.
It’s not exactly cheap and I really did expect better,a lot better,from Sony,a brand I no longer trust.
This was an intermittent problem which has now become the norm.
Will return if I can.
Rubbish really.

It turns on if I use preset buttons,so upgrading from 2 to 4 stars.
The item is well built and provides a good sound quality for its price. With the built in aerial when extended, the DAB radio signal was strong allowing me to pick up all the local digital radio signals. Like another reviewer pointed out. Tuning is a bit fiddly but having 3 favorite buttons is very useful.
Happy with the purchase for a friend.
