I’m an older person and it’s easy to store away when I’m finished. It’s very sturdy and it’s got 12 resistance settings. I highly recommend it.
Lightweight, easy to assemble, sturdy, quiet. The only thing- it’s not for persons over 6 foot tall. The handles kept knocking my son’s knees. Other than that, perfect for small flats
Easy to assemble, sturdiness and very light to move around the house.
I can’t believe how good this rowing machine is for the price! It arrived this morning and I’ve just done 35 minutes on it, while watching TV. It felt like I was only on it for 10 minutes. Would highly recommend!
didn’t take long to put together
ideal workout that won’t put a strain on your joints
Easy to assemble and use although not really designed for long sessions ( the resistance of the hydraulic ram changes due to it heating up over extended periods).
The display is rudimentary and have found the timer is way out (10 min work out timed by sports watch displayed approx. 7.5 mins on Sunny ).
Seat not very comfortable ( cycling shorts over normal underwear makes things bearable).
I am 1.7m and it fits me perfectly, not ideal for the really tall though.
Ideal for someone starting out on rowing machines.
This is ideal for someone wanting to get more exercise that cannot attend a gym its a great price too. it would not suit tall people though. I am 5″4 and I would say its probably not suitable for someone any talle
I have been using this daily for a month It is great, you get to exercise whatever the weather, Helping with legs, arms and stomach, in a gentle way, also your heart rate. Glad I purchased it.
First things first: I’m 6’2″ and this fits me fine, but with one watch-out. I have to hold the handlebar near the edges to avoid banging my thumbs on my knees.
Really easy to put together if you follow the simple instructions. The “computer” is very simple (and turns off automatically, so don’t waste time looking for an off-switch!). I use it primarily to time my sessions.
In terms of stability, I’m 87kg and it feels absolutely fine. When I’m “going for it” it sometimes slides forward but this is no issue- if it was then I’d fix it easy enough e.g. by using some form of chock.
I looked at a range of rowing machines and this got good reviews, plus there’s a chap taller than me who can use it in a different review. Really, for this price, it’s a decent piece of kit.
In terms of use, I do 5 minutes warm up/ warm down either side of a weights session; or 10 minutes before an abs session. I’ll do some longer “rows” on the weekend.
Was super easy to ensamble and is sturdy. Confortable enough for a 1.70m tall person. The resistence of the exercise is good for a non profesional (we use potence from 2 to 6 of 12).
And the best is that it takes really small space stored vertically.
This machine is excellent value for money as I saw the same one in a magazine, which cost more. Just wanted something to keep me moving over the winter if I can’t get out for a walk and so far so good as I’ve used it quite a bit more than I thought I would.
Order this yesterday and delivered today. Very well packaged, very quick and easy to assemble, well written assembly instructions and the product quality is superb. Have done 3 x 100 strokes and for a couch potato I was running out of steam. Would highly recommend if, like me, you are looking for something to get you started on a healthier future.
Such good value.
Very, very easy to assemble. It’s almost fully assembled, you just have to unscrew two blots for the handle bar, place handle bar and insert the two bolts, insert two batteries ( included ) for the counter. And insert the only nut and bolt ( Allen key and spanner included – just for two things unbelievable 🙂 ) into the hydraulic ram and upright. Simple. It’s taken me longer to write this review lol.
Very smooth, extremely well built and solid, just remember how much it cost.
The only negative for me is I can’t fully outstretch my legs but believe you should keep them slightly bent. But would have been nice to go further back before hitting the stops ( I might try and reposition this, by re-drilling the hole )
But still very usable.
I’m 6’3″ with a 34″ leg if it helps others.
We bought this rowing machine so we could get some exercise during bad weather. It was straightforward to assemble, quite lightweight but sturdy. It’s easy to use and very relaxing once you get in the zone!!! I love it and use it most days
I am a former oarsman now late 70’s. Have spent many winter hours on water tank trainers and gym ergometers. Nothing replicates being on the water, but I don’t have that option any more and just wanted a cheap and easy to store device to keep my ageing frame in some order during Covid restrictions. Looked at a number of fancier and more expensive devices before going for this one, encouraged mainly by other reviewers comments. Glad I did. What a little beaut!. Easy to set up, move around and use. I am 6ft tall with long arms and legs. For me, the seat slide is little short on the front stop and I could do with a couple of inches more forward motion on the pull bar to get full rowing stretch. That said, the angle of seat incline and pull bar motion combine to provide a very realistic rowing action. As other reviewers have commented, the strokes get easier as the cylinder heats up. I simply wind the power setting up every few hundred strokes – which also gives me an excuse for a breather. Very happy with my purchase.
A surprisingly good rowing machine for a great price! Offers good, adjustable levels of resistance and is a piece of cake to put together. I’m a 6-foot tall bloke and I find the length to be more than enough at full stretch.
The only thing I’d be wary of though is that the seat is a little wobbly from side to side, it’s only slight and as long as you don’t yank yourself to the side you won’t be falling off.
It’s sturdy easy to set up even for this 62 year old granny ..nice to use and comfortable..my only problem is I’m only 4ft 11 it won’t work if I put feet in stirrups as not enough leg length so if under 5 ft it’s not suitable on the plus is it’s great wee machine if you are right heigh
Smooth machine and I am able to fully stretch my legs. can use it in several different ways which is useful. Not too heavy and doesn’t take up too much room. Can be used by both my partner and I with just a small adjustment. Seems fairly sturdy and good value for money. Would recommend this product. It’s best standing on a piece of mat or similar as it can leave footmarks on your carpet. Not quite so stable on a wooden floor.
I love this thing. It is a perfect way to help myself get in shape without jumping about and hurting myself! It does feel a tiny bit flimsy, but I have had no issues with it at all and I am a slighter bigger person.
Really easy to put together, can definitely feel a difference between the settings. I’ve only used it once (bought yesterday) but I like it. I think it’s good value for money. If I notice anything wrong I will come back and edit my review.
A great little machine just what I was looking for. Very easy and quick to assemble. Very sturdy with no wobble when using it. I like the size of it too. You could use it in just about any room in the house and it will stand on end in the corner of room out of the way no problem.
With 12 settings there’s plenty of adjustments to suit a wide range of fitness.
One word of warning is to be aware that the hydraulic piston does get quite hot to the touch when you’ve been rowing for 15 mins. plus.
You don’t buy a budget product with very high expectations but although I have not really given it any serious use I can report that it came promptly, it was well-packed in a sturdy box, it went together very easily using the supplied tools and the instructions were adequate. The only moment of panic was on the first pull when I thought it was going to be too tough but once I realised that although I thought I’d set it to “1” (easiest) I had in fact set it to “12” (hardest) we were all set to go.
I’m an overweight 77 year old and bought it to try and restore my core strength. I had a leg ulcer last year which stopped my daily walking routine and I’ve been finding it really hard to get going again. I get lower back pain too quickly on my treadmill and discomfort “where the sun don’t shine” on my exercise bike so I’m hoping this will help me to restore the lower back muscles – amongst others – without back pain
I’m an engineer so I like to measure stuff and the basic instrument panel tells you most of what you need to know. Using a rowing machine in a gym more than twenty years ago I’d be aiming for a heart rate of 150 bpm. That would blow me up these days and I’ll need to use my mifit band to keep an eye on pulse.
By the way I didn’t notice in the online specification that the machine had an upper weight limit but it does – 225lbs so 100kg is about your limit if you’re not going to overload it.
This machine was so easy to put together. Most of it was already fixed in place and what was left to do needed a couple of tools, which were supplied, so you don’t even need a tool kit! Even the little computer that counts your rowing, calories etc. come with batteries supplied. It took me 5 minutes to set it up!
It has 12 settings. I started at number 1, but that offered absolutely no resistance, so I upped it until I was comfortable with number 9. After a few days, I put it up to number 10 and I’m happy with that. I only do about 10 minutes every morning and sometimes through the day. I really enjoy it. It is a workout for your entire body, but unlike other exercises, I don’t hurt myself. I bought it because I had become so unfit during lockdown. This builds strength in your entire body. I read the reviews first and that’s what convinced me to buy it. It’s worth every penny, and actually it was quite cheap considering how well made it is. And if you’re not a ‘gym’ person, but want to get fit, this definitely helps!
I like the fact that the machine was delivered quickly and flat packed with easy to assemble instructions. The unit is also fairly light to move around. In operation the resistance collar is clear to set the desired level of resistance. The foot stirrups are wide velcro and hold firm my size 10’s. The seat is comfy and slides quietly on the track. In use I would say that 30′ sessions are about optimal before the seat becomes hard. I have not had the unit long enough to judge effects of wear and tear and component quality but construction appears robust.
First time purchase of any home kit like this; spent some time looking on line before buy; this one seemed a reasonable starter; it is very easy to assemble, the 2 tools you need came with it; once assembled it feels sturdy enough; and it is immediately stable no adjusting; only time will tell on durability; I’ve only had two brief goes on it so far, trying out the different hydraulic settings, whch go from almost none to substantial resistance. One niggle – and others comment on this – the “computer” really is basic; not figured out yet how to re-set it to zero, the instructions don’t explain this; so far the only way seems remove the batteries.
I do have a moan but not about the product. The day I ordered it I was given an option of a specific day delivery, that I opted for. It came one day early. It was sheer luck I happened to see an Amazon deliverer arrive outside my flats just as I was going out, and, yes, it was this item for me. So it got a poor Amazon delivery rating from me. I think they think delivering early is good – it is not when you have booked them for tomorrow not today, especially as the on line tracker had shown it as still coming tomorrow only 2 hours earlier.
EDIT added : figured out to reset the “computer” is simplyold the button in, which i tried first, but mine is 9 seconds to hold, which is quite a long time. Then it re-sets.
Let me start by saying I’d give this 4.5 stars out of 5! I knock it down half a star because of one single incident where I thought the machine had given up on me…but other than that its cracking! Anyway, let me tell you…
This is a fantastic piece of home kit – for the price and size alone, its just brilliant.
I was hugely apprehensive as to whether or not it would be worth the outlay of 70 (on offer) or whether I would be too big for this little machine (I’m 5’11 and quite broad), but I’ve used it every day since it arrived a month ago. It gets used for 30 mins a day and other than one moment where I thought the hydraulic had failed on one occasion I can honestly say its a great workout.
I work my way up from Setting 6 to 11, changing the setting after five minutes, and I can tell you its quite a work out! My legs do be like jelly! Its a great way to start the day!
However I can attest if you’re willing to put in the time you’ll see the results from this – just be careful not to burn your hand on the setting nozzle / hydraulic bar as I did on one occasion!
It only arrived yesterday but I’m pretty pleased with it so far. Very easy to put together (only a couple of bits as most of it is already assembled) and seems to work well.
The only downside could be for tall people. I’m 5’9″ and works well for me but 6’+ might be a bit cramped on it. The variable tension works well. Really good product for the price
I walk my arse off with my dog but my tummy wasn’t really getting in shape so took a risk on this and it seems very good so far. Roll on no rolls
Absolutely one of my best buys. Wasn’t expecting much due to the low price, but love it. Very sturdy , easy to assemble , doesn’t take too much room and stands in the corner when not in use. Highly recommended this product.
Hardest bit for my husband, at 6 foot 5 inches with weakened muscle due to illness, is getting down onto the seat and then up. Once down he can strengthen muscles with ease. What else is a kitchen for? It will be used in the conservatory once I’ve put his wheelchair and other boxes into our shed.
It went together in 3 bolts. Boom! The spanners come with it.I honestly was using it within 5 mins. I cant vouch for its long term sturdiness as ive only had it a week but it feels sturdy. Its so easy to use. Doesn’t weigh much. And gets lighter every day!! Its a convenient size. Really pleased. I use it a lot, great value. No more excuses
Other reviews have commented on the resistance lessening as the piston heats up. This is correct. The resistance does drop slightly after the first few cycles.
It is also possible to work various parts of the body, depending on the manner in which you use it; upper body or legs or both. I am not the tallest and it is probably accurate that this machine is a little short for very tall people to make the most of it.
It is working well for me and I am very happy with it.
I was a little sceptical about a rowing machine at this price, but I need not have worried, as my wife and I are very pleased. A breeze to assemble (literally just putting the handle on!), it’s sturdy, and works well for us both (I’m 6 feet and my wife is 5′ 9″).
I don’t often write reviews but I’m really impressed with this rower for its price. The onboard computer stops when you take a pause and starts again when you get going again so you get an accurate time of what you’ve really done, its really well thought out. I was going to go for a higher priced model because I didn’t think you’d get much for this price but I’m so glad I stuck to this one. My only very minor negative is that it is a little narrow so my legs sometimes brush against the pull bar but it doesn’t impede the exercise in any way.
Thought we’d get a cheap rowing machine to see if we’d use it often. Totally worth the value, so many workout items have been going out of stock during lockdown so I’m glad we jumped on this as it was gone again a few days later.
Positive- lightweight, easy to move around, isn’t too big to stand up and stick in the corner when needed. Has different settings – although on harder settings after a few strokes it seems to get easier, could be me I don’t know.
Negatives – the handle is unlike other rowing machines as it’s a bar to pull, A normally pully system would go back further and work your shoulders and core more. Also the piston connected to the bar gets very hot after only a few minutes I personally won’t use for longer than 20 minutes without giving it a break. Also the seat gets very uncomfortable but I’m getting used to it now.
I normally dread putting things together, being particularly useless in that department. I am pleased to say that this product didn’t even test the envelope of my construction capabilities. Just a bolt here and there, push on the display and plug it in. No more difficult than that. The machine seems to be well made and well up to the task. I don’t know how it would fair if I was much taller – I am 5′ 10″. As it is, it’s perfect. Pleased I bought.
New to home workouts and rowing and I wasn’t sure how it would go so didn’t want to spend a lot, but still wanted something safe, easy and sturdy. Really impressed with this! Easy to assemble and feels safe and solid. Very smooth to use, quiet and with 12 resistance settings plenty of opportunity to build up. Tanks Amazon reviewers for steering me in the right direction and giving me the confidence to buy. Great value for money and ideal for beginners in my opinion.
It came reasonably packaged, although I did end up covered in blue lube assembling it
In general, it’s a serviceable machine. I’ve noticed that my first 20 or so rows seem much stiffer than expected, but whether that’s my arms being weak or the machine needing to warm up is anyone’s guess. I do find that if I’m not careful, the machine slides across the room with me on it. It’s very slight but definitely happening. I bumped into a bookcase.
Overall, a decent product for the price. Just use it on carpet or a rug.
Gives you a good workout, no doubt about that. I’m quite tall (1.82m) and there’s absolutely no problem. Have been using it for about a month now and it’s surprisingly good !The only thing, the counter is sort of useless…
Firstly I bought one of these cheap rowing machines from Argos so nearly didn’t buy this one, the Argos one went back same day as it was ridiculous trying to put it together and didn’t look strong, I felt like I would fall off it.
This one all you do is screw in a couple of parts, I mean just a couple, even the rubber was on the handlebars and I know some people had issues with that.
I have MS and was a bit scared it would be flimsy like the one I returned but it’s not. This machine really does feel sturdy. I’m 5′ 5″ and 12 stone, hence the reason for purchase. I felt quite safe on it, the seat is wide enough for my fat bahookie and comfortable enough. Did it for 5 minutes on the lowest setting then came off. I intend to start with 5 minutes a few times a day then build up to longer sessions.
The reason for 4 stars is that the display thingy doesn’t appear to be working well at all, not that I need it, maybe I haven’t worked that out yet. I also don’t think it’s suitable for anyone much taller than me if you want a full leg stretch on the pull, maybe 5′ 10″ or something would be OK. I think this is the perfect machine for someone like me, disabled or mature that just wants to get fit at a nice slow pace to suit. Laughing now, when I first started to try the very first pull I thought the hydraulic thing was broken because it wouldn’t move, turns out it was just at the higher setting and I’m a wimp, so watch for that one. I’ve used rowing machines in the gym and have to say I’m really happy with what I got for this price and having it in the house means I can suit myself when I use it.
I am 88 and have a ruptured R Supraspinatus – from hanging one handed in my loft…… partial tear. About 30 years ago I damaged the L shoulder, same muscle. I was younger then and a very active windsurfer. Because the muscle lifts outwards I carried on but had a year’s physio on the shoulder. i could still hang fore and aft.. The physio u/s really. So, this time I had a Scan and the physio had a look and gave me some exercises – after a month or two I stopped and bought the Rower. The basis was that I could strengthen the other muscles in the cuff without any harm to the Supraspinatus. It is working.
I take it steady and use no.3 setting for the present. First task was to get up and control the B seat while I did so. I ended up on my back, pretty helpless!. So I moved a stool closer for support. My muscles aren’t strong enough to roll over and get back up on my feet. So I have become more canny and perform within my limits. Lesson learned. I chose the Sunny because I could restrict myself to a ‘fore and aft’ pull, with a narrow grip, and strengthen the thighs and tummy. Some rowers need an outward movement of the elbows. I took my time choosing this machine and I am happy with it – it is in my conservatory and I can watch TV or listen to my HiFi as I exercise.
‘
5 stars without a doubt. Very impressed with rowing machine. I’m not a professional athlete and don’t have high expectations, but that machine provides very good exercise for me. Other users were complaining about lack of resistance, I have it on level 4 and not looking to put it any higher any time soon. Doing short and very intense sessions (cardio) and it is perfect for that. My expectations are fulfilled.
Wasn’t expecting too much at this price but have to say I was pleasantly suprised. Easy to set up in 5 minutes with the tools provided. I expected stability to be a problem but in fact it feels very solid and stable. The seat moved smoothly and the hydraulics worked well. Very simple 12point dial had a positive effect on the resistance. The ”computer ” is simple but does the basics which are all that are needed, strokes, time and approximate calories used. Fairly lightweight and easy to store upright but at the same time feels solid and likely to last. Because it’s simple there is little to go wrong apart from the hydraulics . These do get quite hot so take care not to grab them after use.
