First ever review of a product and I have to say this tv is amazing the picture quality is fantastic, sound is great and the speed of the apps is incredible will be looking into buying again for bedroom
Purchased for my son as part of an Amazon offer during Black Friday.
This has replaced my son’s old 32in TV and with it’s slim bezel it actually is virtually the same size foot print.
He finds it’s really good with his XBOX and also the apps available means he’s now replaced his Roku device saving the use of a piece of hardware which is handy.
Likes…easy setting up,connection to Sky etc, looks good too. Audio could be improved but better with sound bar. Picture not great with standard Sky SD but good with HD channels. Ultimately its a fairly cheap big TV.
Great picture and features for the money. Much better picture than my Four year old 4k LG TV. And 200 cheaper. QLED is much better than LED in the lower price range.
Excellent TV…great price at time of purchase…lots of features…would recommend.
For the price, I don’t think that you could get much better. The picture hasn’t the quality of a 2000 TV but it’s not far off. I would say that my only gripe with the TV is that older films don’t look too great. (70/the 80s’) Dark scenes got completely lost and I couldn’t see a thing. I purchased mine in a sale to replace an old Samsung Plasma TV, I haven’t looked back. Well done TCL
If you are looking for a really good TV with a good picture quality but don’t want to spend thousands of pounds give this TV ago I was very impressed when I bought it for the money it cost and you get a amazon’s fire tv as well well worth.it if you’re on a budget.
This is a good, solid tv with i would say excellent picture quality. If you’re familiar with Amazon fire stick the interface is exactly the same. Apps are all great. Not given 5 stars as the live tv function is pretty slow and clunky and there’s no ‘off’ button so has to be on standby all the time.
One of the standout features of the TCL 50CF630K is the built-in Fire TV, which provides access to thousands of popular apps and channels, including Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, and many more. The intuitive interface and Alexa Voice Remote make it easy to search and find the content you want to watch, and with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, the sound and picture quality are both outstanding.
In terms of design, the TCL 50CF630K is sleek and stylish. The slim bezels and modern design make it a great addition to any home decor, and the stand provides a sturdy base for the TV. The TV is also lightweight, making it easy to mount on a wall if desired.
The TCL 50CF630K 126cm (50 inch) QLED Fire TV is a great value for the price. It offers top-notch features and performance, and the built-in Fire TV makes it a versatile choice for any living room. Whether you’re watching a movie, streaming your favorite shows, or playing video games, this TV is sure to deliver an immersive and enjoyable experience.
This is a great TV for the price with excellent picture and built-in sound. With 4 HDMI ports and direct ethernet connection (plus wi-fi, USB, coaxial, optical) there are loads of ways to watch stuff – either live telly, or via streaming or satellite. I’ve plugged my Sky+ box into the telly and tend to get a better picture via that than live TV over the aeriel. The thing you must do is check the settings – I’ve switched off things like Action Smoothing and Noise Reduction, plus had a play with backlight, and that greatly improved the picture. I’d have liked more functions via the remote but that’s the only real niggle. Very easy to set-up.
Picture is excellent, sound excellent value is really good. However using the program guide is very slow, sometimes waiting minutes for it to catch up. We have super fast broadband.
In the past I had bad experiences with cheaper TVs, backlight uniformity seems to be awful on the cheaper models (especially from Hisense), so I was initially worried that this would be the same. But I’m happy to say the backlight is perfectly even!
The screen is bright, perhaps a bit too bright for a dark bedroom, but the colours look brilliant. Obviously it’s never going to look as good as a >1k OLED, but it’s honestly surprising how far cheap TVs have come along.
Sound quality is also pretty good, it’s not as thin and quiet as my old TV, and for a bedroom it’s more than adequate.
The fact it’s got Fire TV built in is the main reason I went with this model, I personally find it so much easier to use than other built in ‘Smart TV’ operating systems, and since the remote is just an extended Fire TV remote, it’s easy to use!
It was bought to replace another cheap JVC Fire TV which, whilst served it’s purpose as a value TV, wasn’t that brilliant.
Whilst this is a kitchen TV, my main TV in the lounge is a more expensive TCL QLED so I have a direct comparison.
And it’s fair to say that whilst the picture quality is a a big step up from a common-or-garden LCD panel, the TCL Fire TV picture is not as good as it’s big brothers. But, neither did I expect it to be.
I spent a while tweaking the picture settings (be prepared to get stuck in to the menus and start tweaking) to get it just how I wanted it. Friday night Premiership Rugby on BT Sport Ultimate looks amazing.
This might put some plug n play users off (having said that, the picture is perfectly serviceable out of the box).
All in all, a good all round performer and 5 stars for value.
Easy to set up, good sound and picture quality.
Only issue is that the mains lead is very short-I will need to purchase longer mains lead to connect to the socket!
Seriously, on the assumption that nothing crops up down the line, this thing is a bargain. Even at full price of 379 it’s worth the money. Very very happy.
The viewing angles aren’t amazing. Unless you’re watching straight on the picture is a bit washed out, not an issue for us due to it’s placement in the room, but something to be aware of.
The set up was straight forward, but be aware the selotape holding the screen protector took some paint off the top of the TV when we were unboxing it. Quite annoying. Though we can’t see it as the TV is up on the wall. But something to keep in mind when taking it out the box.
Overall we are very happy, especially for the price. Our last living room TV (40 inch 1080p) was the same price (350) when we bought it over ten years ago, so it certainly feel like a bargain.
I was really impressed with this TV considering the cost. It was very easy to set up and also to use, the interface is great and I have no problems navigating it (unlike our old one!) For the money the quality of the image and the sound is really good too. For those on a smaller budget this is a brilliant option.
Pros
– Amazing picture quality
– Really small bezel which gives it a modern look
– Included tv legs are sleek and non invasive
– Easy to mount to a wall bracket
– Easy to set up and get going
– Great picture quality out of the box
– The user interface is nice and clean and easy to navigate
– No need to buy a fire stick as it is intergrated
– all ports on the back of the tv are facing towards the side of the tv so if you are mounting close to a wall this won’t be an issue
– Included remote is very nice, it is an adaptive fire stick remote with extra controls
– Voice control on the remote makes it even easier to navigate and search things
Cons
– The audio although not bad does lack some depth but this may be more clear to myself as I usually watch media through wireless surround sound headphones (this won’t be an issue if you are hooking up to a soundbar or headphones as also has audio optical port)
– Although fire TV user interface is my preferred choice as it is nice and clean this may not suit everyone
The various channels and, ease of manual access are very good and a number of Free to View are included which is an added bonus. I have not, as yet, set up Alexa, but will probably do so soon – making me even more of a couch potato!
The sound and picture quality are excellent for all kinds of programming from Sport, Drama, Nature programmes as well as feature films and music videos.
This is a large screen affordable TV with the added benefits of Amazon Fire, Prime and more….much more. With the Festive Season beginning soon I doubt I’ll have any trouble finding something to watch – and at no extra cost. Pay Channels are also available via Amazon Fire etc so individual users will be able to find something to suit most if not all tastes.
Was easy to install on my existing wall bracket – according to ‘she-who-must-be-obeyed’.
Recommended.
It is easy to set up and with this TV it arrives with all the apps you could currently want or in
fact need. I installed it on a wall and whilst the sound was good, I opted to link in a soundbar
underneath it. To be fair, I had already decided to have a soundbar prior to testing the TV.
That said the sound is good.
At the rear of the TV, it has all the ports and connections needed including HDMI, Optical, USB
and WiFi.
The picture quality is good too and if some reviewers are a bit sniffy when they compare it to
other brands they, in my opinion, are being unreasonable. The fact is that those other brands are
at least twice the price of this TV. Don’t let the price put you off! It has 4K HD which ensures it’s
quality.
It has all the apps plus of course the bonus of having QLED Fire already on board. So there is instant
link to the Alexa. The viewing opportunities with Fire were , I admit new to me but there is a lot to
like, including Bosch! It has Freevee -check it out!
So, going through the checklist of picture quality, sound, current technology it passes with flying colours.
Now that elephant in the room-the remote. OK, it could be improved and in terms of ‘flicking through
the channels’ the touchpads could be larger. Its design, I feel nudges you towards using the voice
control on the remote. So, its a question of whether you prefer dialling in the numbers for channels,
accessing them through the remote or using your voice. Frankly, I do both.
All in all, this if I can put it this way is a ‘splendid’ TV with a good picture and sound, with the useful
voice control on the remote, PLUS -Its Value for Money!
Now, I don’t think I’ve heard of TCL prior to ordering the 50CF630k but a quick Google reveals that TCL are, in fact, one of the biggest companies you’ve never heard of.
So, hooking this up, and getting it online is a breeze, particularly if you’ve set up smart TV’s before. The operating system seems quite similar to that of my Samsung, except that a lot of the apps I want and need are already there. My Samsung is of an age where there is no Apple TV+ or Paramount+ app available for it.
Now, I’ve seen some people complain about the remote, but, for me, it’s functional, if not the absolute best, it doesn’t come close to the smart wand thingy I have on my Samsung, but some of this is mitigated by having built in Alexa, which works well. If you already have a Fire TV Stick or similar, then you know the drill.
The TV in use, it has all the ports and connections you would expect and ever need – HDMI, USB, WiFi, blaaaah, and the TV immediately connected just fine to my PS4, PS5, and docked Nintendo Switch. It lso connected to my WiFi no problem after configuring it, and allowed me into my streaming apps no problem.
The build quality of the thing is also pretty good, though secure it properly or it will go bye bye in a fall.
So of great importance is image quality, the blurb claims Dolby Vision, 4K HDR Pro, and all manner of screen based jargon, but all most people want to know is “is the picture good?” Well yes it is, and I dare say it’s on a par and if not better than my Samsung. Yes you got to play around with settings to get what you want out of it, but you have to do that with any TV, but colours just pop, and blacks are blacker than on my Samsung. The screen is also pretty much edge to edge, which is a slight step up from my Samsung which has a slight bezel.
Movies, shows, and games look good on this thing, though I do think on my Samsung, gaming is better (refresh rates, latency, etc.), despite the dedicated Games Master mode on the TCL.
Now, sound. I almost hate to say it but the TCL has far superior sound to that of my Samsung, and this is thanks to the TCL’s built in Dolby Atmos. Whilst I understand that there are different grades of Atmos and this might be on the lower scale, it is still streets ahead of my current TV.
This is an amazing secondary TV, and a good primary TV. It has good picture, good sound, it’s good for gaming, and it comes in at a budget you wouldn’t be unhappy with. Sure it isn’t going to win a sparring match against the top or even middle offerings from Samsung’s, LG’s, or Sony’s, but it holds its own very well.
Customisation is key. Turn off that action smoothing straight away by holding down the home button on the remote while watching the source you want to fix.
There is still a little bit of issues with motion on this TV but for the price your eye gets used to it quickly.
The blacks and contrast are very good and I would highly recommend taking time to tune the TV to your liking. I increased the contrast to 90 the gamma to 2 and set the colour temperature to warm on pretty much all the inputs.
Other than the motion not being ideal the only other thing that has bugged me is that it always asks who’s using the TV when I first turn it on. There is probably a setting I can use to change this but it just feels like it is getting in the way of me getting to what I want to watch quicker.
A really decent TV for a very reasonable price.
This Is 10 inches larger then mine it also is much flatter
I was really impressed with the sound of this TV, much louder then my one and has much more bass to it aswell.
I found the picture quality to be much better too.
I honestly don’t understand why this has such bad reviews. No it is not going to be the same standard as a well known brand but I think this TV is really good for the price. Not everyone can afford 1000 plus TV so for the price I think what this TV offers is really good.
It includes netflix, amazon prime, disney+, iplayers, YouTube etc.
It also has a appstore where you can download other apps to watch programmes. You can either put this on the wall ( what I will be doing when I have the help) or it has 2 legs that you need to screw in so it can freestand on a table/floor.
Not that impressed with the remote as it’s abit slippery and quite small but it’s okay just be abit of a pain if it gets lost as its small to find. The control has voice controls on it which are really useful if you don’t want to type everything. It comes with the batteries for remote.
Still learning everything for this TV but I think its great especially for somebody like me who dosent really watch much normal t v but enjoy using netflix/disney etc.
