My WFH mouse quit working, so instead of going through the palaver of getting one through expenses I just bought this. Honestly, it was an epiphany. All of a sudden I didn’t mind working, it is so comfortable. It may seem a bit sad, but I actually look forward to using it.

I’m very particular about the size and feel of my mouse but I took a chance that paid off. This no-frills mouse is just right for me. So right, I’m back to get a second one for my other laptop as they sit on different tables. I’ve uploaded photos of it next to a standard-sized remote control to help people visualise it. It’s smooth to hold and to navigate, and no glitches (yet)

5.0 out of 5 stars Good to hold and does the job

his is a great item and ideal for gaming.
its very well made and works perfectly.

had a few issues but easily sorted.
the speed button on the top seems to strange. its ithear really fast…stupidly fast or just the slightest movement send the arrow across 3 screens. to solve this just go into your windows settings and turn the speed down :).

its a little bit on the slim side for my big hands and could do with being just alittle bit wider.

    but defo a 5* produc

Okay, so maybe a truly great mouse should last more than 3.5 years? But I really don’t think I can complain. The truth is, I’ve used this every day since December 2019, including some pretty intense gaming sessions. I just replaced it with the exact same model. Why? The rubberised pad at the side started coming unglued. That’s the only issue I’ve had. I probably could’ve glued it back on, but instead I bought the same mouse again. 3 year warranty if you register on Tecknet’s site, so let’s see how this one goes!

But it’s not a problem if you using other controller from net. High plastic quality, pleasant panel for big finger, almost silent mouse wheel. Looks not so respectable, but did well and feels comfort in hand.

The mouse feels sturdy and compact. Dropped it a few times already and no weird noises inside. I find the left side auxiliary button a bit to conveniently placed, which makes me click it accidentally (a bit frustrating when the page you’re on doesn’t support back button).
Late edit: the seller team reached out to discuss how can they improve the product – good customer service

I really like this mouse because it has amazing quality but what I don’t like about it is sometimes the mouses sensitivity is too fast so it makes it harder to click

Update on 15/06/2023: the vendor got in touch with me to reimburse me the cost of the mouse. Based on this excellent customer service, I am updating me review to 5 stars
Bought this on 01/01/2023. In the beginning it did what was supposed to do and for the price it was perfectly acceptable. But by May I started noticing the scroll wheel starting to slip (i.e. you scroll down and it goes up). And by the third week of May the scroll wheel is almost useless.
As I use this for my day to day coding job, the scroll wheel is a key factor for me (I guess for gaming it would be less important). I was not expecting this after only 4 months of use, even at that price point.
The two stars is because of comfort and cursor speed etc.

I bought the Tecknet Mouse back in Oct 22 and recently it developed a fault. I contacted Tecknet directly, we exchanged a couple of e-mails to help identify the problem. Tecknet then offered to replace the mouse with a new one. The replacement arrived today by courier. Excellent. The e-mails I received were courteous and professional. When I buy something, I want to know there will be support if a problem arises. That’s what I got. I got the impression that the Customer Service department is run very efficiently. A breath of fresh air. Thank you Tecknet 🙂

I needed a spare, cheap mouse for work. Found this one for 10 and as a bonus it has the back and forward thumb buttons.
Seems to be good quality and I registered the purchase for the 3 year warranty, which I think is pretty generous at this price.

It’s very comfortable for me to use, but I’m pretty small with small hands, so if you have very large hands it might feel a bit on the small side, maybe?

Smooth to use, works straight out of the box. Just what I needed.

Nothing to dislike. Good to find a mouse that doesn’t pretend to be a keyboard, too. The mouse only adds an entry into the ‘mouse’ Device manager in Windows, with the advantage of only having to configure the mouse once. For example, setting the mouse to not wake Windows, only has to be done in one place. Previously with gaming mouse, I could not stop the mouse waking the computer from sleep until I realised that it added a keyboard entry into the device manager, listed as HID device; which also needed to be set to not wake the computer.

Having spilled tea on my Gladius 2 wrecking it, i was lookig for a cheap alternative until i can afford to get a proper gaming mouse. If you have smaller hands or limited space, this will be great. Was too small for me. Performance has been flawless though.

Would have given this product 5 stars, but for one small problem. The “back” button is placed pretty much where your thumb is (actually, theres a groove that your thumb is supposed to sit in with the button sitting at the top of the groove, but I have found that natural hand placement will put your thumb over the button because the groove is too small and too close to the base/tabletop) so the end result is you end up occasionally clicking the “back” button while surfing the web, which can be very infuriating.

Other than that, this is a fantastic mouse.

The size is about three quarters the size of a Microsoft Intelimouse.
Slightly small for larger hands but very well built.
I like it has a strain relief grommet where it enters the mouse.
    36 month warranty offered.
Feels solid but have had to get used to the reduced size.
Buttons and wheel feel up to Inteli-mouse standards. Wheel id possibly a little better.
Easy to switch between two dpi settings without having to go into mouse settings.
The lack of stars is purely down to it is a bit small in my hand and not a criticism of the build quality.
Dislike I can’t see if the laser diode is on when in use but that is a small dislike.

had to bin this after a month, because although photo shows raised grips on the middle wheel, in fact there is none and its just plain plastic which slips with even a normal finger, add to that, its very notchy, not smooth mechanism the missing grips make it hard to scroll. probably the worst mouse i have owned for a decade. ++Edit. Seller responded and gave me a refund for this item. So satisfied with the outcome++

EDIT: I have reviewed the stars given due to seller being helpful and offering to compensate. Appreciate it.

The scrolling button is wonky. Whichever direction I scroll, up or down, it keeps jumping back and forth and it’s not smooth. I regret not returning this when I had the chance. Pity as the shape and size is great.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is a great value mouse for the size and price.
I’ve been using it for over a month now and am rather pleased with it.
Just a couple of things let it down , but overall most things about it are very good.

It’s size is quite on the small size. I do own a few mice much smaller than it though. So really I’d like to class it in between medium and small.
I do prefer medium and bigger mice in general , but never the less I did find it very comfortable despite it’s smaller size.
My hands around medium size or slightly smaller. So I am unsure if this would be comfortable for bigger hands.

It does have quite a high hump though , despite it being a fairly small mouse , which is something I like also. This allows me to do either a palm or claw grip , rather comfortably despite it’s size. (Although the bottom of your palm will probably be touching the mouse mat/table if you palm grip because of the smaller size of the mouse)

Another great thing I like about this mouse is despite it small size , it does have a pretty good feeling of weight to it. There must have added some kind of weight inside the casing. Because I have other mouses that are a lot bigger than this but only feel like they weight half as much. Those mice feel completely hollow , compared to this one , which feel like you’re handling something substantial.

In my opinion this is one of the best things about the mouse. I am very happy with the weight to size ratio on this mouse. I wouldn’t have expected it at this price.

This amount of weight is great , because it means your pointer won’t be zipping all around the screen as much , compared to the much lighter mice. You can still move the mouse pretty swiftly if you want though without too much effort , because it still glides across most surfaces effortless in my experience.

There is also a groove for your thumb on one side with a rubber texture which enchances your comfort and grip.
I have long term injury on my right thumb , so the shape of the groove on this side helps in not aggravating the injury that much.

Next onto my favourite part of the mouse , the buttons.
The main left and right buttons on this mouse , have a nice comfortable soft click to them.
This is great for me , as I have an RSI injury on my right index finger too. The soft clicks are very easy and gentle on it.
They are very easy to press and have short travel time.
Even though they are soft clicks , they still have a satisfying sound to them , which is another thing I like about using mice in general too.

The only bad thing about the main mouse button , is I find the right mouse button to be a little too sensitive.
It seems that just the weight of resting my middle finger on the right mouse button , can sometimes cause a misclick , especially if moving the mouse.
The right mouse button seems to take a lot less effort to click , in comparison to the left mouse button.
I have to hold the mouse in a certain way to minimise the problem of accidentally misclicking.

I am not sure if it’s just my mouse that has this problem , or it’s intended to be this way.
But I have other mouses that don’t have this problem.
Since everything else on this mouse seems to be perfect in terms of quality control , I’m guessing I didn’t get a bad unit.
In any case I find the right mouse button way too sensitive on this mouse , which is an unfortunate bad point.

Other buttons include a handy DPI switch , which switches between 1000 dpi and 2000 dpi.
I kind of wish there were lower DPI settings , which would be great for certain game types. But I guess you can’t really ask too much at this price point.

I was able to game on RTS and MOBA games with 1000 dpi setting fairly well , by readjusting the way I play to just making smaller movements. Thankfully due to the weight of the mouse , it does keep the mouse grounded enough so my pointer isn’t flying over the place , even with the lack of lower DPI settings.

You can cope to use it as a gaming mouse too , although there is also still a risk of misclicking thanks to the sensitive right mouse button. Although it’s not marketed as gaming mouse , so you really should use something else for gaming. But it’s a great mouse for general use and other tasks on your PC.

The scroll wheel is pretty good too. It’s not too loose , not too tight. It doesn’t take much effort to move and feels smooth enough. It’s a nice middle ground for me , as far as scroll wheels go . It also has a rubber texture to it too.

There are also couple of extra buttons just above the thumb groove. These are quite handy as they can be used to skip page forward or page back on your web browser. I find these buttons in a comfortable position if I use a palm grip. But unfortunately if I use a claw grip , one of the buttons are no longer in range , unless I reposition my thumb.

The quality of DPI and extra side button buttons are reasonably good too , but for me the stars of the show are the soft but satisfying clicks of the main left/right mouse buttons and the overall weight/shape.

The final thing I want to comment on it the build quality and materials. There is a feeling of fair quality with the plastics used in this mouse. Definitely better than some of the mice I have bought within the same price range from similar brands. It seems well constructed and put together , no signs of creaking yet after over a month’s use.

It doesn’t feel flimsy in certain areas , like other mice I own at similar price points. It feel solid all round throughout it’s whole casing/outer shell. I cannot really fault the build quality of the product , especially at this price point.

The left side is rubber texture and the left side is matte plastic.
The top of the mouse including it’s main buttons are a smooth glossy plastic though.
This is a major down point for me , as you can see and feel your sweat stains so much more easily on this glossy plastic.
Also if your hands are a little clammy/sweat , the glossy mouse buttons tend to stick to your fingers slightly.

Not a big deal I guess , but a bit of a minor annoyance from time to time.
I had the impression I was going to get a grey matte finish from looking at the picture of the mouse on Amazon , but somehow I ended up with a glossy black plastic version instead ?

I am not sure if the other colours are glossy plastic too. But they looked matte to me on the picture.

I’d love to try a matte finish version of this if there is one.

So yeah in summary , I do think this is a great well balanced comfortable mouse with a great weight for it’s size and nice soft clicks.
An excellent choice for general tasks on your PC and great price from TeckNet. (I got mine for under a tenner)
Just a few changes would make it perfect in a future revision.
I’m definitely quite interested in TeckNet now, if this level of quality is present in their other mice.
I might try a gaming mouse from them next.

I will update this review in the future if there are issues with lifespan and durability , but at the moment I’m pretty confident this mouse will last me a good while in relation to it’s price point.

Overall quite pleased and impressed with this mouse , a solid purchase if you’re looking for a comfortable mouse that’s on the smaller size.

Disclaimer: For the past seven days, I set my trusty TeckNet Classic M002 Wireless Mouse ( TeckNet Classic M002 Nano Wireless Mouse,6 Buttons,18 Month Battery Life,2000 DPI 3 Adjustment Levels ) aside (bought in September of 2016 to replace a far more expensive Logitech alternative) in order to not only try this particular mouse out, but to be able to review it fairly and free of bias.

    Features: 4/5
(It would be best to disregard the aforementioned product description posted on Amazon, since it showcases TeckNet’s M003 Wireless Mouse characteristics and not the ones you, the potential buyer, are looking for.)
Attached you will find an image of the Product’s User Manual in English, and it should be used as a complement for this review.
The 4 out 5 score demonstrates that whilst this mouse favours from each of its features, these still make little difference to its general usability, thus falling short of what I’d deem “extraordinary”; yes, regardless of its price.

    Design and Build: 4/5
Being an entry level mouse, I expected it to sport not much more than a finicky plastic build, however I am fortunate enough to say that from “our very first test-drive” I felt that contrarily to my belief, this LITTLE THING was fairly solid and allowed for an excellent, rubbery grip… kind of, and allow me to explain why by evoking my previous UPPER CASE’d expression: while this mouse has analogous dimensions to the TeckNet M002 (see top-view image for comparison), it focuses most of its height on its center-rear elevation, and drastically decreases it toward the front contours of both left and right mouse-buttons (emphasis on the LMB feeling inadequately low, due to the similitude in height when compared with the RMB), such slope is then further accentuated by the concavities where your fingers should be placed atop. End result? If you have a reasonable sized hand, you’ll be clawing your way to comfort.

    Performance: 5/5
Its DPI range is more than enough for my daily usage and needs, from fiddling around with AutoCAD to browsing the Internet and games which won’t force you to rely too much on your reflexes and hand-eye coordination (FPS genre).

    Value: 5/5
Not much to be said here, this item just reinforces my thesis that TeckNet’s price-quality ratio is bound to be exceptional.

    Overall Score: 4.5/5

NEARLY THERE – As one might notice, my attention was evidently drawn to this device’s few downsides, and not so much to its advantages, the reason for that lies in what particularly distances it from (a relative) perfection.
If you can deal or actually prefer smaller than average mice or know someone whose hand would wrap perfectly around it (no puns intended), my bet would be to try this gem out, you won’t be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars TeckNet consolidates its fame as one of the top market alternatives for quality budget peripherals.

The TeckNet Pro S2 arrived quickly and was packaged sufficiently as to make there was no damage to the mouse, or even the product box itself. I find that nowadays it is too often deemed ‘acceptable’ for a seller to package their products in thinly lined paper parcels and leaving it to the product box to protect the item. However, this was not the case with my purchase as the product box was lined in bubble wrap within the paper parcel. The box came in pristine condition; suitable to be given as a present.

In the box you will find the mouse wrapped in extra bubble wrap with the cord wound and bound by a plastic clip. They include a simple instruction manual with all of the technical specifications of the mouse; in my experience though you will not need it as the getting started with the mouse is as simple as plugging it in to a USB port, no drivers are required and the mouse begins to function immediately. You will also find a registration card within the packaging which entitles you to a free 2 years warranty. They will even cover return shipping.

The mouse is of a reasonable size (image attached to show its size compared the the MX master by Logitech; I would find it suitable for people with a normal hand size (right hand use only) however if you are endowed with larger than normal hands then you may want to look elsewhere unless you are happy with claw grip (680mm x 1150mm x 380mm, length x width x height at widest point). The cord is approximately 1.5m long. In the hand the mouse feels well constructed. The plastic is of a high quality and the mouse itself is sufficiently weighty to feel as though it won’t fall apart in your hand. On the left hand side is a soft touch rubber pad which provides extra grip and makes the mouse more comfortable. Overall, I would describe the mouse as an ergonomic improvement on the generic mice packaged with desktops and found in workplaces/schools.

The mouse has the typical left and right buttons; a central mouse wheel used for scrolling and as a ‘centre’ click; and finally a forward and backwards button placed above where the thumb sits. Also included is a DPI switcher which alternates between 1000 and 2000 DPI.

The mouse tracks well and was very responsive at both DPI resolutions. Trialling it with gaming I found that it was suitable for League of Legends however note having attempted to use it for a more ‘twitchy’ game such as CS:GO or COD I cannot comment on its suitability for use in these games.

I have used the mouse on two windows 10 computers and no software was required.

Overall, for those looking for a well-built, ergonomic mouse, that just ‘works’, and does not hit the wallet then this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money mouse.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPackaging:
As a consumer I am becoming more and more conscious of the packaging of products; with pollution, climate change and sustainable sources of paper and other materials being a concern, I tend to try and avoid products that are packaged in a way that would suggest that the manufacturer is not trying to reduce environmental impact in what is usually (if not always) a much more trivial affair than the actual manufacturing process. A lot of companies use packaging which is excessive, not fully recyclable or that is just frustrating. This product shipped in, what is in my opinion, just the right amount of packaging. A fully recyclable cardboard box which opens easily but still keeps the content securely and safely. The box it shipped in was sized so as to be just big enough to fit the mouse (wrapped in a small bit of bubble-wrap; perhaps future incarnations may swap this out for shredded paper or something even more recyclable, but since I can always use bubble-wrap for other things, this was fine).

    In the box:
Apart from the mouse, the box also contained a warrantee card and a minimalist (but fully comprehensive) user manual. Again, it was nice to find that waste was kept to a minimum — no dozens of pages of warrantee and other information (which is usually tossed in the bin anyway). The user guide is only in English but with links to online alternative language versions.

    Setup and Use:
This was pretty straightforward. I got this mouse as a (temporary) replacement for my Logitech G500 as it was starting to have disconnection issues which, after all manner of trouble-shooting, lead me to the conclusion that the mouse which I had been using for close to 6 years now was finally on the way out.

After removing all the Logitech mouse software and rebooting my PC, I simply plugged this mouse in; I could start using it right away without the need to download drivers or software, so setup was really a zero-issue affair.

The mouse is ergonomically shaped and fits nicely in my hand; it is a little smaller than my G500, but even with my fairly big hand, it sits comfortably in my grip (mileage may vary if your hands are really big). The thumb-side of the mouse (which is right-handed design) has a comfortable, non-slip rubber edge which is really nice to the touch.

It comes with a switch that flicks between 1000DPI and 2000DPI. I am currently using it on 1000DPI (the default) as the mouse is a lot lighter than my G500 and so it is pretty sensitive without the need to bump up the resolution. However, once I get more accustomed to this specific mouse, I may bump DPI up at some point. However, the mouse is really responsive and so far it has had no issues beyond those you would expect when getting used to a new piece of hardware after years of using something else. From a technical perspective, it just works. Great.

    Tips:
The mouse is incredibly light and so you may find that if you are using it on a very smooth surface, the natural coil in the cable (caused by how it was folded when it was packaged) may actually pull on the mouse when you let go of it. I am using a Razer Destructor gaming mousepad and I found that this surface is way too slippery for using this mouse (at least in pristine condition while the coasters under the mouse are new). Each time I let it go, the natural coil in the cable would cause it to start being dragged along, so managing to keep the mouse pointer in place after letting go of the mouse was a bit of a drag. I found, however, that just using the mouse directly on the wooden desktop of my Ikea desk worked perfectly fine, as did turning over my mousepad and using the mouse on the non-skid rubbery surface – it really just needs a little more friction. It may also be a good idea to let the mouse hang gently by the entire length of its cable overnight to let the transit-induced kink work itself out naturally before using it; this should help to prevent what I like to call “cable-drag” on the mouse. The straighter you can get the cable, the less pull there should be on the mouse when you let go of it.

I specifically mention the above because I suspect that a lot of people may unfairly mark down the mouse for this when, in fairness, this is really a non-issue and something that does not reflect on the quality of the equipment. I suspect that as the coasters of the mouse take some wear over time, I will be able to go back to using the correct side of my mousepad.

    Conclusion:
For its price, I was very pleasantly surprised by the mouse. It has a solid design and, despite it being very light, it does not feel like a budget mouse. It is responsive, seems to be fully compatible with Windows 10 and the buttons offer a satisfying action. It also offers a good number of buttons which are well-spaced and comfortably located. Given how light and responsive it is, it took a bit of getting used to, but this is really more due to having used a much heavier G500 for many years. However, I have been using it for 2 days now and I am already starting to feel every bit as proficient with this mouse as I have with my previous one. Where I originally got it as a temporary replacement with the eye on buying a more premium device when I have had time to make up my mind, I might just end up using this as my standard device going forward indefinitely. If you don’t need a lot of bells and whistles and custom software, this is actually a fabulous mouse for the price. I can recommend it without reservation.

(Please note Teknet refunded my purchase in exchange for my review)
I was very pleasantly surprised that my mouse arrived only four days after I ordered it as I thought it would come from China! It is Chinese made and very plainly packaged, however is well packed and comes complete with manual and guarantee – a two-year warranty document (not 18 months per Amazon), again a pleasant surprise as for the price I suspect most people would simply buy another if / when it goes.
I’m running Windows 10 and just plugged it in … no problem and it works exactly as described. I’ve used it for general web surfing as well as database input and spread-sheeting so it will be ideal for general home and office use.
It’s sensitive and all the buttons work as required. l was using a mouse mat and soon found it better to use the mouse direct on the surface of my desk – there are small pads on the bottom of the mouse that caught on the mat, so worked better without. The grip is comfortable to work with in my medium size hand and the wheel and feature buttons naturally fit where you need them. NOTE it is designed for right-handers! I read other comments about size – I think this is plenty big enough for laptop or desktop use.
The 56 inch (142cm) cable was plenty long enough for my desktop pc but worth checking for suitability before purchase – I could not see this listed on Amazon.
Overall this appears a very well designed and made product, and the appeal to the buyer must be in the features compared to other more expensive offerings. This is a bargain wired mouse and I’m enjoying using it. I am impressed to see that Teknet also do a wireless version for almost the same price if preferred.

I received this item via Amazon Prime and it was delivered the next day as promised. Great service as always from Amazon.

On opening the outer delivery box, I was immediately impressed with the items packaging. It’s plain and simple with no fancy glossy pictures or landfilling plastic insert. Just a bit of bubble wrap to keep the mouse protected, which you could reuse for other things and the box could go straight into the recycle bin.

I like the look of this mouse. It has a very slick design, in gun metal grey and black colouring, with the brand logo in white near the bottom left. It felt very nice in the hand. The rubberised side grips and scroll wheel felt very comfortable and shouldn’t cause fatigue over time.
The cable is 1.46m long, which was perfectly fine for me using a laptop and should suit most users.

My biggest worry was the fact that is states on the instructions that it only works on computers running Windows from 2000 right through to 10. It claims that the scroll wheel will only work with those operating systems. However, I am a Mac user currently with a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks, but though I’d give it a go anyway.
I needn’t have worried. As soon as I plugged it in it worked straight away, including the scroll wheel. The left button acts as the usual Mac mouse click and the right accesses Mission Control where you can see all your open windows. The scroll wheel push button launches Dashboard but the two left hand side buttons appeared to do nothing (I imagine these will do something on a Windows PC). Also the DPI button on top of the mouse, next to the scroll wheel, also works, changing the sensitivity (or speed) of the cursor on screen.

I do a lot of audio editing and although I know this is only a modestly priced mouse, I have to say, I did miss the ability to scroll from left to right, which I can do on my Apple bluetooth mouse or trackpad.

Using this mouse on my dining room table, with a wood effect plastic cover (I have children), it tracked perfectly. At no point did I feel the need for a mouse mat.

The description on the Amazon page where I purchased it was incorrect. The title said it was the TeckNet Pro S2 and It was listed in the ‘Product Description’ as the TechNet Pro Wireless Mouse M003, which it is not. It’s actually the TeckNet UM013 Wired Mouse. Therefore there is no “wireless convenience” as stated.

It also correctly stated that the warranty was 18 months but there was no mention that this can be extended to 2 year if you register your item with TeckNet. Which I think is worth it.

Overall, this is a lovely mouse. Very responsive and feels great in the hand. The thing is though, I found you can buy a TeckNet Pro 2.4Ghz wireless mouse for the same money. It’s the same design and appears to have all the same features, as well as quoting a 24 month battery life. It’s hard to understand why you’d want to be held captive by a cable. However, if it’s the cabled version you really want, you can’t go far wrong with this product.

TLDR: A solid mouse, decent ergonomics, though a little slippery on top and the forward/backward/DPI buttons could feel more satisfying.

The mouse, like other Tecknet products I’ve owned, came in a small corrugated card box (walls around 2mm thick), and felt very secure and safe. The opening was sealed with a sturdy paper tape that would take a lot of force to break. Inside, the mouse itself was loose in a small bubble wrap bag, and this seemed to be enough to protect the product. For those who value sustainability, the bubble wrap as the only plastic used for packaging, the rest was paper based and minimal.

The mouse falls well into the hand from the get go with a textured, rubber thumb grip that fits the thumb comfortably and is the only place I feel a secure grip. On the little finger side, the form curves out to create what feels like a small ledge for the finger to rest on, which is comfortable, however the matte plastic that the majority of the mouse is made from has quite a slippery feel, which was very noticeable as I generally use another Tecknet mouse ( TeckNet Classic M002 Nano Wireless Mouse,6 Buttons,18 Month Battery Life,2000 DPI 3 Adjustment Levels ) with a rubbery build for the finger grips and gloss plastic for the mouse buttons. This combination gives me much more confidence with the grip compared to this mouse, which I feel may slip out of my hand, but is something I’m sure I would adapt to.

As for the buttons, both left and right clicks are satisfying and easy to press. They also have slight grooves for both index and middle fingers to rest in, which is a pleasant addition. The scroll wheel is stiff enough to hold position securely and to easily roll it, but it doesn’t feel like I’m going to accidently roll it and with some testing, it seems there aren’t any ‘ghost’ rolls when scrolling through pages. The wheel has a nice close textured pattern made of rubber and I never felt the wheel would slip. However, the middle click on the wheel feels a little off. I’m not sure why, but it may be because the wheel is quite pronounced and I may expect the wheel to move more when pressed, though I feel this may be more of a personal preference. Another issue I had was with the DPI, forward and backward buttons. They simply felt a little flimsy to me. I prefer buttons that move more mechanically and that have a more grippy shape or texture and these three simply just don’t really do it for me. The clicking noise they make is quite quiet and not satisfying and the buttons themselves aren’t textured or shaped in any way to make up for it, but again, this is probably just preference and if you’re used to smoother buttons, you’ll get on well with this mouse.

The cable isn’t the longest and I would say is much more suited to the laptop user, or user with the computer block very close to where the mouse will be used. This didn’t bother me as I almost always use the mouse right next to my laptop, but if your computer block or laptop sits at quite a distance, or the wire needs to stretch, this mouse may not be a great choice. This mouse has a very bright red light where the laser is, if this is an issue for you.

In terms of use, any lay man will be happy with the functionality of this mouse, and I’m sure others who want a little more, will be more than happy as well. I’m happy just using the 1000dpi setting but if you like a faster mouse, the 2000dpi will come in handy. But if you’re looking to slow down for precision shots when gaming or something like that, you’re going to want to grab something else. There are always the mouse settings on your computer if you need to customise thigs further. Movement’s smooth, clicks are accurate nothing really wrong with things, though I’m not experienced with higher range mice.

Overall, this mouse will definitely suit most people’s needs, though if you’re used to a mouse that is slightly larger, and more expensive, you’ll likely notice a difference, but this is to be expected. Build quality, general ergonomic form and functionality I like a lot. However, there are a few little issues I have with the smaller buttons, especially forward and backward which I use all the time. For under 7, this is a nice product that almost everybody would be happy with.

I have several different mice from TeckNet. This one, TeckNet Pro S2 High Performance Wired USB Mouse, 6 Buttons, upto 2000dpi is the only one that is wired as I really do prefer the freedom of a wireless mouse.. It is a reasonable size, possibly slightly small for me personally. This is why I gave it to the wife 🙂 She couldn’t use it though – she is left handed (see later).

The cable is a good length, I would say it is not far of 1.5m long. One thing that is quite distracting for me is the bright red light from the tracking mechanism. All my mice apart from this one now use invisible methods to detect movement.

This mouse is only designed for people that use the mouse in their right hand. The body of the mouse is quite shaped, the padded thumb area and forward and back buttons are only usable with your right thumb. Not a problem for me but my wife was completely unable to use it.

Left and right mouse buttons are precise with a noticable click to them. Scroll wheel uses a ratchet for precise motion. The button behind the wheel adjusts tracking speed. This is the same feature as on all my other TeckNet mice and really something I tend not to use. I can set tracking speed via the mouse software. Talking of which this mouse comes with no software of its own but it just worked as soon as plugged into a variety of Windows 10 & Windows 7 systems. It worked in Linux too.

Despite being a very capable mouse this is destined to be used as a spare for a couple reasons, a little small, bright red light underneath and right hand only

In the interests of honesty I declare that I purchased the item at no cost to myself (funds were provided by TeckNet) in exchange for an honest review.

The mouse is very impressive in terms of the features it offers for the price (I purchased this at 6.95). Its DPI (dots per inch) is high, which means it is more sensitive to your touch. It has a DPI switch so that you can quickly switch your mouse between tasks that require high sensitivity to those tasks that benefit from less sensitive movements. It has some handy forward/back buttons, with their positioning on only one side (rather than one on either side) providing a quicker and more intuitive experience (in my opinion). It is sculpted to shape the hand, so ticks the ergonomic box. Finally, it has a nice little rubber grip on one side that is not only practical, but adds to the feeling that this mouse is a step-up from a bog-standard one.

So this is all great (if you don’t mind the wire — which I don’t), but I actually found I had no use for any of the advanced features in my day-to-day use. I don’t need high sensitivity in my mouse. I use TeckNet’s Prima 3-button optical wired mouse on a daily basis, and even though it ‘only’ has 1000 DPI sensitivity (versus 2000 DPI with this mouse) I noticed no difference in my everyday use when browsing the internet and working with Word documents. Similarly, I had no need to quickly and frequently switch the sensitivity of my mouse, so the DPI button was also unnecessary. Then there’s the ergonomic shape. I’m actually not a fan of the ergonomic shape of mice such as these. My hands are quite long, and this dainty little mouse didn’t feel as good as the feeling of my non-ergomically shaped Prima 3 mouse. Finally, whilst the forward/back buttons were a nice little feature that saved me some time when browsing, they’re not particularly essential to me.

The mouse works fine enough — I found no real problems in using it as a day-to-day mouse (though one thing I didn’t like is that its main left and right click buttons don’t feel particularly robust, which perhaps reflects how dainty the mouse is). However, I found the advanced features unnecessary for my needs. If you’re going to use some or all of the advanced features that this mouse offers, then you’ve got yourself excellent value here. But if you’re not going to use these features, then ask yourself why you want to buy a mouse that has them. There are less advanced mice for less money but giving the same results (for example, TeckNet’s Prima 3-Button Optical USB Wired Mouse is cheaper — I purchased mine for 3.99 about a year ago). Gamers and those whose job or hobby requires sensitivity in mouse input (and the ability to adjust sensitivity quickly) should definitely consider buying this mouse, however. I can strongly recommend the brand, having used another TeckNet mouse for over a year now (probably one of the best mice I have had!).

I would also like to note that even though this review is based on the mouse’s use on Windows 7 and Windows 10 machines, the mouse (and all its buttons other than the forward/back buttons) also worked on my Macbook Air (running OS X Yosemite), even though it is not listed by TeckNet as a compatible operating system.
