This is such a great deal! I got it for my son because he’s been obsessed with space and the moon lately! I loved that it came with a 3 Barlow Lens because it brings out so much more detail when looking at the moon! The compass comes in handy a lot too! I use the SkySafari app on my phone so i can name/see all the constellations and the fact that it shows the coordinates on the phone,i know exactly where to look using the telescope. The finder scope could be a little easier to assemble, the kids had some difficulties with getting it aligned, but it was eventually done. Every night is a new opportunity for the kids to use the telescope and see something beautiful! I also loved the fact that it came with a rack for the different lenses, it’s truly easier to switch between magnifications when they’re all within reach. The bag is a huge bonus as well because everything stays organized and held in nice and tight. The bungee Velcro straps are amazing!

You know when you have a kid that seems interested in a musical instrument, sport, whatever and you don’t want to go all out and get the semi-pro level stuff, as that kid may lose interest? Or even with adults, when you’re just getting started with something, and aren’t sure if you will enjoy it all that much, or just want a, “Starter” to get the hang of things? That’s this telescope.

I have known people over my years who have had telescopes, and they would show me what they could see with them, etc, but it pretty much just involved me sitting on some patio furniture while someone else did all the work. I currently know of someone where that is the situation. So, I figured I’d order a telescope and see if I can get the hang of some of this stuff. Well, it takes a bit of time, and this telescope set does have some quirks to it, but, hey, for a starter telescope set, it’s alright!

The box is very basic, not a whole lot of information on there. The storage bag is included and features a bit of padding. it’s not the most padded storage bag out there, but for storing away this telescope in a closet for when not in use, transporting it places, etc, it’ll do fine. Most of the accessories are adequate, however the included tripod is so-so. I am more into taking photos than using a telescope, so I have nicer tripods around here. I was able to attach this telescope to one of my current tripods just fine. When I really don’t like about the included tripod is all the plastic parts. It’s not as sturdy as the tripods I have around here that I use with cameras. So, keep that in mind about this set, the included tripod will do, but if you have a better tripod around, you may find that to work better and be more steady.

The entire feel of the telescope is alright, it feels solid enough, but it doesn’t really hide the fact that it’s a starter model, though decent one! Setting up the finder scope takes a bit of time, but after you do so a few times, you’ll get the hang of it. The included instruction manual is written well. It seems longer than it is due to being in multiple languages. The instructions for setting up the finder scope are in there though. Once you get that step down, aligning the finder scope, then, just find something to look at!

If you are new, or even a bit new to using a telescope, just like learning many other things, you’re going to need patience. I sometimes use photography cameras with lenses, and I recall all the reading I had to put into that years ago, and even now I oftentimes just prefer to bring out a point-and-shoot digital camera that has all the manual setting features minus the lenses. I am still getting used to working this telescope, and have more reading and experimenting to do, but I’m being patient. Overall, a decent starter telescope, about the only upgrade you may want to make would be using a different tripod.

    Good, basic, starter telescope!

Since childhood I’ve wanted a telescope, so when offered this telescope by Bebang, I jumped on it. I have always been amazed by the stars, space and wanted to look at them up close. How better to do that than with a telescope? This one was pretty easy to assemble. This one comes with everything that the amateur Astronomer needs. Included are a finder scope, compass, tripod, carrying case and different eyepieces. There is even a phone adapter (for recording videos if you’d like). To be honest, I can’t wait to enjoy the next lunar eclipse, various phases of the moon, or Mars. My world just got bigger. So, for less than $100, you can get this telescope for the amateur astronomer. Perfect for the beginner!

This is a good telescope starter kit that comes with everything needed to start exploring the night sky. This is a very simple to use telescope, even for children. It comes with a decent tripod that is height adjustable and fairly stable. Included in the set is a carry bag that everything can fit neatly into. The entire set is lightweight and easy to transport. It’s near effortless to set up and includes a cell phone mount for taking pictures and videos. My children like playing with it, they have learned a lot using it. This is a good beginners telescope kit that is as described.
