Overall a very good dash cam with lots of features and good video quality. However the App lets what is otherwise a good quality camera down. It’s not very easy to connect to and retrieve video. Also the bundled 16GB memory card is far to small due to the video quality. It really needs a 124GB card or higher.
Easy to install with multiple languages selection, speed cam will alert when you drive nearby to keep your mind to slow down your speed. Bravo
I like this product because it is easy to install. The video it captured is clear enough. I can also download the videos easily to my iphone.
Great quality video from this feature packed Dash Cam. As with any other Dash Cam, position is important. Ideally situated in the centre of the windscreen. To use all the features the dash cam hard-wire kit must be used. This is probably out of the skill range of a large number of purchasers and does mean that professional installation is required. Use of the supplied filter is a must to cut glare from the windscreen. It’s expensive but you’re buying a feature packed dash cam. If you don’t need the features, look for something less expensive.
Got one for my son’s Car, Now have one for My Car. This is a brilliant piece of kit. Lane assist and speed camera notifications help. the app on the phone and computer works well. The picture is so good. got a Machanic to put in the hard wire. 75, could have done it myself. best to be careful with Car electrics.
Video quality is good. I also bought the OBD cable so this just plugged in to power the camera, very simple. The warnings for speed cameras etc are what attracted me to this camera over others. Would recommend.
What I love with the camera is that it does have its own parking Mode. I gave the rating of the camera 4/5 as it will be lovely if you can view it live from anywhere and not until you are close to your car.
Nice discrete camera and easy to fit BUT it doesn’t stop talking. Whilst the speed camera alerts are helpful counting down distance and confirming speed limit, when parked it is constantly swapping from “parking mode” to “continuous recording ” chattering away constantly to the point I have had to turn parking protection off for my own sanity.
My product also said a memory card was included but that was missing from the item when delivered. Not a big issue bearing in mind the cost of a card these days but worth bearing in mind.
iPhone app isn’t great and sometimes hard to connect. Certainly not as slick as other cheaper cameras used.
I installed this with the rear camera and a dashcam warning sticker in the rear windscreen. I was astonished at its ability to stop vehicles entering the rear danger zone. All the types of drivers that would normally tailgate seemed unable to get in the danger zone now. All I can think is that they first see the sticker then the blink of the LED on the camera and they can suddenly drive like they should.
Technically it does the job well. I’ve had no problem using it from the app. I installed it easily and wanting to use parking mode I hardwired it. Not being a car electrician I was a bit nervous but honestly it was easy. It connected to my phone hotspot first time. I’ve viewed the images on my phone and my 55 inch UHD telly and in my opinion were crystal clear with faces and number plates clearly visible and usable. Better than nearly all the cctv images you see posted on social media.
So to sum it up this unit is a neat, discreet and easy to use with great images which after all is what you will buy it for.
I have had this unit for a year now, so “warts and all” review incoming
Praise point #1: Install was easy – I had the RAC do it, so I found it really simple
Praise point #2: Set up was easy – once the app is connected, you can do everything from there.
Niggle #1: connecting is less straightforward than it could be. You have to turn the camera WiFi on, and connect your phone to the camera’s network. If you have your phone’s hotspot switched on, it won’t connect. This is not mentioned in the manual, and may be the source of a lot of the “software is buggy” comments.
There are lots of options to set- I have most of the driver aids switched on, as I do a lot of miles.
Niggle #2: the voice alerts can get really tiresome, especially when it keeps reminding you every 30 seconds about being in an average speed camera zone.
Niggle #3: Even on medium sensitivity, the camera sees speed bumps, potholes and door/boot closings as activations, so the SD card gets filled up quickly, whereupon you get another voice alert about insufficient storage space.
Praise point #3: With the app connected, it’s really easy to clear the space and delete the unwanted files.
Niggle #4: viewing/downloading files to your phone via WiFi is painfully slow. However –
Praise point #4: you can remove the SD card really easily, plug it in to a computer and read the file from there using the Thinkware viewer – this seems a well-produced piece of software, easy to use and displays all the data from the camera, including the 3-axis accelerometer showing impacts.
Image quality is excellent, even under low-light conditions.
Summary
Expensive, but IMO probably worth it for the image quality and ease of use. Check out the web forums for solutions if you are having a problem, as the manual doesn’t include all the information needed.
Would recommend.
Great package, researched 2 Chanel cameras and found this one ticked all boxes. App is a little flakey but otherwise great bit of kit. Buy the OBD Cable for a easy and uncomplicated fitting. We purchased 2 for our cars, Kia eNiro 2021 & Audi A1 2021.
Camera works fine. But the questions on this site in regard to the camera are just weird! Thickness?? Warmth?? Absolutely no idea what they are asking???
After having this for 10 months now, I can say that it is really good.
In general, the cameras are really good and the build quality is excellent too.
After having some problems getting the peel off the sticky pads, they are stuck on solidly and have lasted all summer with the hot weather we had and is just as solid. It is easy to clip the cam on and off and this hasn’t worn away either.
The cam has recorded everything and also lasted through the hot summer without issue or any drops (that I am aware of).
The video quality is excellent and the night vision is really good.
The app that comes with it could be slightly better as it can be a little buggy when trying to connect. Otherwise, I can easily copy the videos to my phone, and it is easy to configure the settings I want.
I’ve only had this a few days but it does everything I could ask for in a dash cam. Video uality is really good. There are different apps for the different models of camera and I selected the one for the Q800 Pro. Connectivity is simple, just connect to the cameras WiFi signal and open the app and your in. I’ve a Samsung S9 and I could view videos pretty quickly, deleting multiple files is surprisingly fast. Love it so far.
This kit replaced a cheap Chy-nese dual cam that decided it didn’t like doing the job it was made for, and quit after 11 months. The Install was pretty straight forward and I’m amazed to find my DAB isn’t affected by the rear camera wiring like the last one was. It never fails to connect to the GPS system or internet via the hotspot in the car. The SoftwareApp is a little finicky to connect, but I stumbled through.
Lesson learned, I won’t buy cheap Chy-nese again.
