Thrustmaster T128, Force Feedback Racing Wheel with Magnetic
Thrustmaster T128, Force Feedback Racing Wheel with Magnetic Pedals, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC
IMMERSIVE FORCE FEEDBACK
The HYBRID DRIVE technology in the Force Feedback system lets gamers experience all the fun, intuitive sensations of driving. The weight of each vehicle, bumps and impacts, loss of tire grip in corners, and road surface types can all be felt through the wheel, for immersive racing that will awaken your driver instinct.
MAGNETIC PADDLE SHIFTERS
Thanks to H.E.A.R.T magnetic technology, the paddle shifters allow for super-fast gear shifting (30-millisecond response time) with clear and precise activation, for sporty performance and while avoiding driving errors.
This patented technology, delivered via a contactless, frictionless magnetic system, provides outstanding durability over the long term
ENGINE SPEED LEDS
The 4-color LED strip lets you monitor the engine speed without taking your eyes off the road. The LEDs flash when you need to shift to a higher gear, allowing you to optimize your gear shifting. The list of compatible games on PlayStation and PC is updated regularly on the Thrustmaster support website.

Bought for a Christmas present and my 13 year old is over the moon with it. Easy set up and easy to use.
Really powerful force feedback on this (seriously, keep your hands well clear when you power it on, until it finishes self calibration).
Compatible with the PC, PS4 & PS5 (there’s an Xbox/PC version available as well).
While using, you will need to clamp this to a desk, as you try to negotiate that tight corner & the wheel fights back at you.
Paddle shift gears are found either side of the wheel, these rotate with the wheel, as you steer, rather than being in a fixed position. Some will like this, some would rather it was always where you’d left it, personal choice I guess, I’m not saying that as a positive or a negative, just an observation. Personal preference comes into play on that aspect.
Despite being plastic, it feels a really solid unit, well the wheel does, the pedals don’t feel to be quite the same standard of build, but you’d be looking at spending somewhat more to get the metal pedals you’ll find on the more expensive models like the T248. These do their job though & work well, you really feel the difference in pressure needed to operate them. The accelerator being comparatively light to the touch when in use, the brake much firmer as you’d find with a real car.
Connection is via USB to your console or PC…..this I found to be quite disappointing. A wired connection?? Surely, as an official licensed playstation product, it should connect wirelessly?? For me, it’s the biggest downside to this. It determines where you need to sit in relation to your console, or where you need to position your console while playing.
Overall, it’s a very good wheel, just a couple of niggles stopping me from giving all 5 stars.
Thrustmaster looks to cover this middle ground of affordability, cutting costs in the right places while offering a healthy amount of realism. The new T128 has more in common with its mid-range counterparts than anything at the bottom.
The T128 is totally plug-and-play on Xbox, with all my usual games detecting every button and the pedals perfectly. A PC can detect raw input by simply connecting the wheel via USB, but the official Thrustmaster control panel app has more customization options. If you want to fine-tune the force feedback and damper effects, you’ll need a Windows desktop or laptop to hand.
Spending a few hours in Forza Horizon 5 with in-game settings adjusted, I switched the wheel over to my laptop a few times to make tiny adjustments until everything felt right. It might not be as quick to react as some of its more expensive competitors, but I was impressed with the performance of the T128. The mirrored handbrake buttons come in clutch for casual drifting, and the hall-effect paddles are better than some high-end models I’ve used.
Dropping the HUD from its T248X counterpart is a shame, but the engine speed LEDs make up for it. They’re bright and colorful enough to notice in my peripheral vision, making manual gear shifting a breeze. Considering I usually stick to automatics in arcade racers, I had a lot of fun hitting perfect gear changes with the T128.
The most severe cost-saving effects are felt in the T2PM pedals, which are so lightweight and compact that they resemble a plastic toy more than a sim peripheral. Both pedals are placed extremely close together, so anyone with larger feet who like to play with their shoes might find the edges of their soles rubbing together, as I did with any left-foot braking.
Placing them against a solid surface is critical if you’re playing on a carpet, which might not be possible in your setup due to a woefully short cable connecting the pedal set to the servo base. The T128 wheel is entirely plastic, too, but the build quality is far better than the hollow pedals, and you’ll soon be clamoring for a higher-quality replacement like the Thrustmaster T-LCM magnetic set.
Thrustmaster makes no illusions about the T128; this racing wheel is for casual newcomers looking for something more than a barebones wheel. Loaded with the same hybrid-drive force feedback as its mid-range T248, which retails for twice the price, the entry-level T128 doesn’t cheap out on immersion. It will easily step into the ranks of the best racing wheels for Xbox Series X|S, replacing the Thrustmaster TMX.
You should buy this if …
1.You’re a newcomer to simulation racing.
2.You want to race on Xbox and PC.
3.You’re on a tight budget.
You shouldn’t buy this if …
1.You don’t have access to a Windows PC or laptop.
2.You want a high-quality set of pedals.
I’ve been using this loads now on GT7 PS5 and it’s MUCH better than using a controller! Setting up was easy, although the cables could be a bit longer to help give some more freedom of positioning – not everyone has an ideal spot to fix this up, so the longer cable would help. After plugging in, it’s just settings in game and you’re away racing! The experience of GT7 is massively enhanced with this wheel and pedal set up – AND….AND – I was easily able to shave lap time off due to the massively increased control you have over the throttle, brake and steering.
The whole package feels well made, and has stood up to a lot of play without any issues. The brake pedal has more resistance than the throttle, which is as it should be of course, but I thought it worth mentioning. Steering has good feedback and feel. All buttons work with positive and solid feeling to them. “Flappy paddles” are easily reached and feel good pulling through gears.
Overall, really great, I’m enjoying using it! 100% recommended.
Thrustmaster T128.
Simple to set up and getting going. The build quality is excellent and it looks the part too. The price does make it a considered purchase, however it’s definitely worth it. Without a doubt a steering wheel and pedals take your gaming to the next level. The level of realism is amazing in my opinion.
If you are looking for a decent casual racing wheel for your games, this is it.
the setup is simple too, just plug the pedals to the steering wheel and then to the pc or console, that’s it, barely any wires around.
I play mostly on my pc, so it’s best you download the Thrustmaster software as it will give you full compatibility and control over the steering wheel.
Quality wise, it’s what you would expect from the brand, it’s great! both the wheel and pedals are solid built and feel amazing to use, both slightly smaller than the real thing, but still very accurate.
Sadly you don’t get a shifter here, so automatic only, but that’s ok as it makes things simpler, you do get paddle shifters though if that helps.
It works with every driving game i tried, all of them adjust to it perfectly and take full advantage of it, there is a light to let you know the revs and when best to switch gears, that also works well.
I have to say that for a casual racing gamer, this is the next level, it will take all your racing games to a more realistic scene and improve it highly.
The product came well packaged, and organised.
In the box:
You receive, a unit itself, a paddle set, USB cable, table clamp. Aslo comes with Xbox ultimate game pass for free subscription.
Starting with a wheel: (pros & cons)
PROS:
It is entirely made of plastic, and has a 10 inch diameter along with 15 buttons on the deep pad which is a compact size, that makes a sufficient room for all other essentials.
The wheel is fairly ergonomic with all buttons and power shifters being close reach. Additionally, the power shifters are behind the wheel and do feel very clicky and satisfying when press down.
Moreover, the 4 colour LED strip monitor the engine speed and flair the look of the wheel. Meaning that, they are all well implemented experience with the Xbox.
The racing wheel has a clamp-based attachment that can be adjusted to fit desks and table for quick and easy setup. It has upto 900 rotation.
CONS:
With a full plastic construction, the handles doesn’t provide much comfort or grip.
In my opinion, with rubber grips, it would provide much comfort or grip.
Coming to the paddles: (PROS & CONS)
PROS:
The paddles don’t feel cheap in any way, and they have a nice bounce when you are switching between brake and acceleration.
CONS:
There are some pitfalls with the paddles.
These are small and are for anyone other than a child because the paddles are way to close to each other. However, if you are playing on a carpet, it will not stay in the place. I was constantly having to pulled them back with my feet because they were gradually sliding along the carpet.
Experience:
When, I first took this hybrid driving, I was instantly impressed. While Playing the Forza Horizon 5, I notice that quite often you get the cars pushing the tail of your car and whenever this happened, I can physically feel the wheel working against me and that also goes for when I was drafting around the corners or turing too quickly. I can feel it through the wheel itself that are incredibly impressive. And when the cars are side by side with me just before the finish line, and I feel heart breaking, but all the more engaging because you physically feel the lose. It was just so good with Forza horizon that I genuinely don’t think, I can go back to play with the controller.
Finally, I was overly impressed with the experience.
The T128 is perfect for those who are looking to get into the hybrid driving preferral games.
Overall, best hybrid driving experience.
Any questions regarding the product, happy to help.
So the description states this is a:-
Thrustmaster T128, force feedback racing wheel with magnetic pedals, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC.
I know I’m probably not the perfect person to go into all the details about this set of wheel and pedals.
Because 1 ~ I don’t drive
2 ~ I have no clue with video games
But having teens it’s been well tested and used.
So far from my side means they not so quiet because they do up shouting at the screen.
I would definitely recommend you use something to protect you desk or whatever your clamping the wheel too. Because you want to clamp it tight so there is no movement when playing. But with that comes you may mark your furniture.
They are happy with it but not over the moon is what I was told.

The price at the time of this review is 169.00, I think is a little high, but as most things are right now.
So far so good
But I will update this review if needed.
Have been using this for my PC for a week now and it’s great! Love the feel of the wheel its realistic and love the gear changing led lights, flappy paddle gear changing is good also, plus peddles also, force feedback is good and really gets you into the game and immerse yourself in the racing!
The buttons feel good no quality issues whatsoever, however i do think the peddles could do with some work, on the T128’s their very cheap looking and the cable looks a little cheap.
To sum up its a cracking entry level wheel with some decent features!
I have been playing GT7 on PS5 using a hand held Controller for a while and decided to upgrade the experience with a proper wheel and pedal set up which I had used often in arcades.
The Thrustmaster took a little while to set up as I had to make quite a few alterations. The instructions were ok but I had to go online to clarify a few points. Luckily I found what I needed there.
The wheel needs to be clamped to something fairly substantial like a table and the pedal section needs a good non-slip surface as it does tend to move rather easily. I believe dedicated frames are available and would be desirable – if space allows.
It functions as expected and as it should. I felt the wheel seemed a little stiff but that may just be true to life. I have never driven an actual high performance car!
For someone into driving games this is a bit of a no-brainer and should not disappoint as it greatly enhances the experience compared to PS5 Controller use. The price seems ok for a Playstation licensed product.
Wanted this for my Xbox Series X and this did not disappoint. The quality of the wheel itself is incredible. Very well made as well as the pedals. Instantly downloaded Forza Horizon 5 and jumped straight in with this, no messing about, really easy plug-and-play.
The vibrations and reactions to the wheel when going off-road are insane. Moves really powerfully making you really grip the wheel for dear life. The sensitivity of both the wheels and pedals is perfect and very life-like, being an actual driver myself.
The setup is very simple. 3 wires. 1 to power, 1 to connect USB to Xbox, and 1 to the pedals. Clamps are fairly easy to a desk/frame with minimal fiddling. It just looks and feels really good I’m super impressed with it. Off I go to buy a frame for it now!
I Love this, the difference between this Thrustmaster T128 and my old non branded steering wheel and pedals is night and day. Setting up was easy, I am a PC gamer and use Windows 10. Once set up in Windows I had no problem at all with my games recognising my set up, it is a brand that all the games have settings for so you don’t have to spend ages calibrating and allotting buttons, it is all done for you (unless you have different preferences, then you can redesignate).
The feeling of the wheel is akin to a proper steering wheel, reasonable weight and feedback. The desk clamp is quick and easy to set up. The button layout is so comfortable, as a previous console gamer I was quick to become familiar with the layout and find it very natural. The pedals took a little more getting used to, they are not super big, but you can use both feet with no trouble at all, I did have to put a rubber mat under them, that is probably my rug though that is slippery. I will work out a base for them later on. The cables are all good quality and a decent length, my desk is quite big, so I appreciate that. Using is really enjoyable, full lock either side has a good amount of manoeuvrability, and I love the feedback, I never had good feedback on my old wheel, so it is amazing for me and does show up my edging off the track lol, it is amazing in off road driving games too. Alignment is better than my own car. The buttons don’t stick and all return instantly so no over controlling from them, they do exactly what you want.
There isn’t much I would change for this wheel, maybe larger pedals but you soon get used to the smaller ones and they don’t take up as much room when your PC needs to become a boring PC again in between gaming.
Me and my daughter been playing Crew 2 and Wreckfest for the past week with this wheel and have had tons of fun. We are only casual (very) gamers and don’t often play on the PC.
So far the wheel has been working really well. It was easy to set up with no drivers, as Windows installed those automatically. I still got the derived pack and software from the Thrustmaster website anyway in case I need to tweak something.
Force feedback works really well and while perhaps not realistic it adds to the whole racing experience which we both like. Controls are precise and work really well with both games. In Crew 2 we had to change the settings for the steering wheel sensitivity profile to ‘precise’ as the default one was a bit too artificial and sharp. In Wreckfest it works nicely with the default setting.
On the negative side, it did mark my desk. Last time I must have clamped it too hard as it left a small permanent indentation on the top surface of my desk. The edge of the desk is also marked now. Thought it is from the clamping screw but it does not seem to be touching the desk. Must be from the plastic corners of the mount/body. The desk is an Ikea Bekant so not the cheapest but not the best either. Lesson learned, I will use my keyboard mat underneath and wrapped over the edge from now on. Would have preferred if the whole base was rubberised rather than having a couple of small pads. This is also true of the pedals. They have 4 small pads to stop them from moving around. While they work to an extent, would not hurt to make them a bit bigger and reduce the movement.
This arrived well packaged and professionally boxed.
I’ve been a PC gamer since the very early 90’s and never owned a steering wheel controller.
The kids have all had consoles and I never got to grips with the typical control pads either.
Mouse and Keyboard have been my loyal control system for over 30 years.
It’s perfect for every game – except driving games. This is why I only ever bought one driving game recently, Forza Horizon 4 to replace an older version I had but gave up on.
Mouse and keyboard are too basic, control of brakes is either on or off as is steering – where you have to jab keys to nudge the car in the direction you want to go.
GET A DRIVING WHEEL AND PEDALS!
Thrustmaster is a make I trust, having owned joysticks and keyboards by them.
This set is very well made and really sturdy.
The wheel assembly has some weight to it and is fully assembled straight out of the box.
It clamps to your desk easily with the included well-made clamp set.
The pedals feel less well made and a bit plasticky which is disappointing, and the pedals are a little close together for anyone with big feet, but it is easy to get used to spacing your feet and there is sufficient pressure needed when operating them to know exactly what you are doing and how much you are pressing on the pedals.
Connections are all very straight forward, USB and RJ45
I downloaded all the required drivers and control panel from the Thrustmaster site to ensure I have up-to-date drivers.
Once plugged in the wheel spins a bit to set itself up – made me jump lol.
Most of the control functions were auto detected and need no setting up.
However, you do need the Thrustmaster Control Panel to get the most out of fine tuning the wheel and force feedback. I’ve not delved into that much yet as the system works quite well out of the box. But I guess it depends on the game as to how much you need to manually tweak all the many settings.
So steering, braking, accelerating, gear shifting are all operated via intuitive and quite natural control systems, namely the wheel, pedals and flappy gear shift paddles.
There is a full-size console style controller built into the wheel which can be fully configured for numerous tasks, such as menus and setting, set-ups etc.
But what’s it like to actually use?
Amazing! I really wish I had stumped up the cash years ago to buy one of these. It has really fired my passion for driving games again.
Force feedback on the wheel is quite firm. Cornering now requires some effort on behalf of the driver using the wheel rather than feeble jabbing of the keyboard.
Hitting the rumble strips is now very noticeable and can cause noticeable shifts in the wheel.
Losing traction in gravel and mud is immediately felt through the wheel, giving you more chance to regain control and hence prevent slide outs and ultimately crashes.
I like the LED strip on the wheel that helps you judge gear shift perfectly.
My big feet are not a fan of the pedals, but I am getting used to them and it’s still much better than using a keyboard. You also need to position the pedal assembly against something firm to stop it moving around when things get… exciting.
This has been a review of a free item sent to me for testing.
At 170 I would not have bought it myself as my interest in driving games has been limited.
Had I known more about these controllers I may have taken a punt.
I wish I had.
To be fair the price is really competitive, and for an entry level full control system I would certainly recommend it.
Personally, I am now looking at the next level up Thrustmaster 248.
This controller has certainly re-fired my interest in racing sims.
Unlike some of the other ones out these this product is really responsive and feels great on the hands. It grips really well and turning the well feels really good and not too soft or too hard. The pedals too are really nice to push down on and have a really good feels to them. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves or knows someone that loves a driving game.
Great product and a brand you can trust. Works very well on PC & Playstation which great responce from Truck/Tractor or high speed racing game. Feed back works very well and accurate and a real feel driving experince with lights to indacate your game playing. 10 out of 10. Quick assemble and strong clamp to give you hours of happy gaming.
I previous was using the Thrustmaster t150 – it works well for years but decided to upgrade to the T128 as it got great reviews.
Really impressed with the ease of set-up – great for beginners and the instructions are really clear and easy to understand.
The wheel and pedals are great quality and give a great driving experience – when set up it gives a realistic driving experience. Great if you do not have the space for a full rigged up set up.
Great value as well – 5 stars!
Great value gaming wheel for playstation, this is a hybrid racing wheel that gives more than 20 percent more power than other thrustmaster wheels. This is a modern design that has 13 buttons to suit all types of vehicles and games, its has magnetic paddle shifters that give instant response for clear gear shifting and also 2 magnetic pedel set that also have a quick response for great precision, this is a great device and also can be a great gift for any child or adult that likes to game, it gives for a fun gaming experience.
Super racing wheel that feels great to use and makes racing games so much more fun, the force feedback is good and improves immersion, the pedals are smooth and easy to use. I used it playing wreckfest and it is a lot of fun with the force feedback with all the various ground surfaces.
This racing wheel and pedal set is extremely fun to play with. I am definitely not an expert with these wheels and don’t have another one to compare it to but from a beginner’s point of view it is really fun. I know people have been using wheels like this for a long time but I had no idea how realistic they felt and how much they can improve the experience in driving games. In my opinion the feedback it provides feels really great and if you are getting this for someone who is just getting started with these games they will definitely love it. I cannot comment on how it compares to some of the more expensive setups but for a beginner it’s fantastic.
I ordered this for my grown boys and my ‘ kid at heart’ husband.
We are all gamers and although I’m more of a MMORPG gamer I do like to play the odd racing game.
Let’s just say there was a que to play!
The short version is that this wheel and pedal combo is awesome, and everyone was in agreement.
We downloaded the drivers and went through a pretty painless set up in which you can test the wheel and pedals out. We set up using a PC.
We left most of the settings on default as we hadn’t used it before and so we weren’t sure how things would feel at this point.
We took our shoes off as the although the pedals feel solid they are easy to press and we felt that we would get a better feel with just socks on.
When you start to drive you can definitely feel resistance in the wheel at higher speeds you can feel the weight transfer of the car and if you slide (which is pretty much all I did ) you feel the slide especially on the grass.
You can feel bumps in the asphalt too.
The paddles are very good. They are quite large and robust and you feel a good quality click and a good connection.
I absolutely loved feeling the forces through the wheel. It’s very immersive. I’m coming from a hand held controller so this is my only experience with anything like this, but it’s awesome and I love it. We all did.
The wheel is light but works really well and overall I would say it’s great value for money.
The pedals are robust and strong and not a lot of force is needed to use them which makes them great for a younger gamer too.
It’s all very well made and well thought out and immense fun.
I would definitely recommend it.
Ordered this as my last wheel broke which was quite cheap and had high expectations for this due to the price. I do think it is slightly overpriced for what is is, the quality is excellent but not quite 170 excellent. It feels great to hold but sometimes the feedback isn’t quite spot on. It is enjoyable to use and adds an extra level to the game but I probably wouldn’t purchase again due to the price.
I would say it would be good if the instructions were a little clearer which I believe other reviewers have mentioned. Comes nicely packaged in a box and well wrapped so no scuffs or marks. All in all a great set just depends on your personal price point.
Thrustmaster T128
Ok so this wheel looks good and feels well made which lives up to the thrustmaster name which I am happy about.
Easy to connect and it has some pretty good feedback when driving.
This wheel and pedals are good for the price but this kit is definitely an entry level kit if you want to get started on sim racing or just for casual fun.
I would say this wheel is on par with some of the slightly more expensive brands out there but bare in mind it is still an entry level type wheel and peddle set so don’t expect miracles.
Overall for the price which is expensive but not for a wheel and peddle kit compared to other entry wheel and peddle sets it is actually a great price and good value for what you receive in my opinion.
I would recommend.
