Still going strong after nearly two years. Great wheel for those new to sim racing.
This is a fantastic force feedback steering wheel! I have read elsewhere that the pedals aren’t the best but personally I have no problems with them. It does take a bit of setting up to get it feeling right, especially the strength of the force feedback, which for f1 games I set to around 40.
The clamp works well on my desk which is exactly 5cm thick. You might get away with fixing it to a surface a few mm thicker but not much more.
The product was mis sold as only having cosmetic damage, however the pedal system was defective. The acceleration gas pedal did not work at all as the spring was broken.
After several very irritating chat sessions I was only offered a 20% discount or refund. After escalating the issue further and asking for a working product I was given Amazon credit in my wallet to purchase a replacement pedal. Many thanks to Ashish
I have been giving this steering wheel and pedals a good thrashing since December. It has been a real pleasure using them with my X-box one and playing Forza 7. Excellent value for money.
I have had the TMX now for almost a year and thought now would be the best time to write a review.
I use this wheel to play Forza Games (FH4/FM7). I tried my cousins Ferrai wheel and started looking into wheels and soon realied Force feedback is the ONLY way (Ferrai wheel doesn’t have FFB). My Budget was around 160-200 and looking on the Web I was aiming towards the TMX or G920. Reading reviews I chose the TMX based on Direct drive and pulleys system for FFB. On first unboxing the wheel its soon apparent you need a stable place to attach the wheel ,I custom made a 22mm copper frame but soon purchased a playseat sold on here as the FFB is strong with this one !! . First of all dont expect to be L.Hamilton overnight FFB wheels take getting use to. I started by lowering my FFB strength to 50% and rotation to 540*. This helped alot on FH4 until I became use to what the wheel was actually “feeding back”. In total I would say it took me 2 months to get fully acquainted with the wheel but trust me it is worth the patience. Now I have it set up perfect and must say, it is truely super Immersive !! It took a while again to learn how to drift as with a button on the wheel that rotates it can be fun to locate lol you will become a left foot brake expert in no time !! The FFB actually allows you to feel every camber, bump, undulation in the road or track ! Every car feels different and you soon realise why the GT3RS and Ferrari Pista are such Legend track cars ! Send the kids to Bed ! Turn the lights off and put a head set on, you will be hooked in no time ! . The wheel is worth every penny and can be had now for as low as 140 however I would 100% recommend going for the TX version if money allows as you can swap the actual steering wheel or at least try to get the Pro which comes with a clutch pedal. Which runs me into why I have given this 4/5. On the 2x pedal option the pedals are of poor quality. They work but you really miss some nice FFB or some resistance on the Brake pedal. Another option is the Base TMX and upgrade to the T3PA pedal set which has very good mods for all 3 pedal resistance. You can actually obtain a pedal mod set for the base 2 and 3 pedal sets but are expensive, there are DIY versions on youtube which work out “ok”. The biggest issue for me is the Handbrake ! It’s a button on a wheel ! Think about that for a second. You slide the rear Into a left hander youre wheel rotates 1.5 turns clockwise ! Where’s the button now !! It takes practice to say the least however is possible lol. You can purchase a very expensive Sparco edition Thrustmaster handbrake at around 200 but I feel that is excessive. You can also add a 6 speed H pattern shifter for around 160 and all of a sudden you’re at 500 plus seating option (140 playseat for me) so now 640 for a set up which seems expensive but when you factor in no Fuel/tax/Mot/ points/fines and maintenance, it doesn’t seem to bad. Save you’re family car and get a SIM set up ! Bottom TMX / PRO / or TX it doesn’t matter they are all awesome and aimed at different budgets just depends what your budget allows. Have fun and keep the racing to the track or compute
Love it, feels responsive and good force feedback. Took a bit of fiddling to get the settings that worked for me, and takes a while to re-learn how to play driving games, but so worth it. Forza 7 times are now improving all the time!
Works nicely with Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox. Bought from Telephones Online, delivered quickly and well packaged. 12month warranty. Uk plug with is hard wired into steering wheel base, not like a laptop style adapter.
I use this mainly for forza games, but after years of using the standard controller it is taking me a while to adjust to using a wheel.
My first force feedback wheel so can make no comparisons but the step up from a wheel with no force feedback is immense. I literally cannot drive in games with a wheel without force feedback now it is amazing. The feeling you get as you hold a rally can in a perfect drift around a hairpin bend in unlike anything else. If you are buying this wheel though I definitely recommend stretching to the T3PA pedals Thrustmaster T3PA Pedal Set (PS4/Xbox One/PS3/Xbox 360/PC DVD) . Other than not much to say really, great wheel that’s worth the money
Brilliant set of steering wheel and pedals, ideal for me and my 8 year old son to compete with each other on Forza Horizon 3. I couldn’t get used to driving on a game pad, this made things much better for me 🙂
We’re using it with our Xbox One S.
Good level of feedback through the steering wheel makes driving games a lot more realistic.
Bought as a present for my 12 year old son, and he loves it.
I like the feel of it when playing racing games for example F1, Forza motorsport and other racing games plus feeling the vibration of the handling of the cars in racing simulations games.
I read a number of reviews before buying this wheel and most said the force feedback was light so ok for a first wheel. However I have found it to be very good and I think the level of force feedback is partly dependent on the game. On Spintires (driving huge trucks off road) the steering becomes very heavy and hard to turn when driving the biggest trucks as it should be. I think it works best on the PC as you can make adjustments via the software were as on the Xbox games can have limited or no adjustment.
I played Forza 5 driving a 1965 Mini Cooper S and knowing how these drive I could best judge the feedback and found it very close to the real thing and soon found having a wheel massively improved my in game driving over a game pad going from struggling to get third to easily winning every race.
To get the best out of it you need a good place to clamp it down I brought a stand for my for 40 from WheelStandRacing which works well
When I first got it the transformer in it buzzed loudly and considered returning it but a software update seemed to reduce this a lot so sticking with it.
IMPORTANT TIP some games don’t seem to recognize the wheel but if you go to keyboard setup and try remapping the keys with the buttons on the wheel suddenly the game then recognises it why this is I don’t know
Overall I think this is very good value for money and is perfect for the casual racer like me and my 5 year old grandso
Omg where to begin this wheel is so good it puts you in mind of the TX the only small problem is you cannot change the rims but for an entry-level steering wheel with Force Feedback wheel is amazing you really feel like you are there I can’t stop playing Forza Horizon 3 with it it does take a lot of setting up to get it to your taste as if you put everything up high it will snap out of your hand but lower some settings and it becomes very real feeling look on YouTube Four Ways to set this up for different games in summary a very very good looks like it will last my only small complaint is the very top of the wheel is plastic and if you squeeze that a little too tight it feels a little cheap and cracks I think the trouble is because apart from that it feels so real you kind of forget it is a gaming wheel and not a real car wheel. As a side note I built my own little steering wheel and pedal stand out of wood for around 10 and is much sturdier than the metal frame sold on here
Brilliant Racing Wheel, would recommend to anyone looking to buy a entry level steering wheel at a good price. As well as this the force feedback is amazing, but would recommend a good sturdy stand as the wheel force feedback vibrates quite a lot.
First of all you will need a dedicated stand (recommend wheel stand pro) or very stable table to clamp too (my table moved), a USB extension and a mains extension.
Setup and ready to go on the above I started playing. One thing I quickly realised is you need to setup each game to the wheel. Doing research on each game (forza, project cars, F1 2016, dirt rally) online I found settings to setup the wheel and adjusted to my tastes. Dirt Rally is practically unplayable until you get in the game menus and set it up, also adjust the degrees of rotation on the wheel itself (see the Thrustmaster website on details for this)
I did use the TX setups as there is not lots of TMX settings online yet, but I managed to get all games working great. In fact I can’t believe how good this wheel is. You need to do some research and take your time setting it up but the final result is really worth it. My driving games now make me grit my teeth and sweat!!
Invest in a stand and get the extra bits and you will not be disappointed.
Great entry level racing wheel. Force feedback is terrific. The rubber can wear ur hands out after a few hours drifting on forza horizon but apart from that worth every penny.
Given it a 5 as it does everything I expected it don’t have a previous wheel to compare but the wheel is great. The build quality is good and the force feedback is brilliant doesn’t feel clunky. I’ve always enjoyed racing games but now it’s gone to another level using the wheel. I would recommend Dirt Rally. The feeling of getting the car sidewards over a crest through the woods and not crashing is almost as good as sexy (almost) joking aside for the price it’s a no brained if you’re looking to go for a wheel.
My son and I love playing video games together and this is an excellent addition to our gaming fun!! It offers a chance to get into the feel of racing rather than just watching it across the screen as you push buttons etc….
The wheel clamps to a desk top and away you go….it is sturdy enough to handle turns and although the resistance isn’t exact, it is still engaging and my son loves it!!
This is a well made and sturdy piece of gaming equipment This is our first gaming steering wheel and we are both happy and well impressed
This is a well-packaged, sturdy and interesting addition to my range of Xbone accessories. It’s not as flimsy as I thought it would be, especially with the way I tend to stomp pedals. I used this on Forza and it took some getting used to after years of using just a controller. At first I thought it wasn’t as responsive, but after playing around with the sensitivity settings I found this to be a much more enjoyable (and practical?) way of gaming.
This is a great addition and gift for any gamer, though it’s quite bulky and not so easy to store away. One for the kid’s rooms I suspect!
This is my first gaming wheel and I am just amazed. This makes the gaming experience in Forza completely different to using the regular X-box controllers. This gives you the real driving experience rather than something artificial. I am afraid I cannot compare it to other racing wheels as I haven’t tried them, but I have been impressed. It is bit bulky and you need to make sure that it is secure when you play, especially for people who get a bit carried away.
