Great cordless vacuum bought for my elderly mother struggling with the weight of the Dyson cordless. Easy to charge and use nice lightweight easy to empty and clear filters too.
Couldn’t wait to try this out so gave it a quick charge and tried it. I love it! Quiet on normal, on super power it’s a little noisier, but definitely tolerable. The suction is amazing on flooring and the rug. The only drawback for me is I can’t hang it whilst charging but that’s due to a lack of sockets. Would I recommend this? Hell yes!!
My biggest issue with vacum cleaners is that the noise triggers my anxiety. This one has a lovely soothing sound, easy to use, suction power is good, no long user manual (another thing that puts me off buying appliences). Easy to charge and store in the corner.
Item has broken down , reported problem to Tower , who have informed me the problem cannot be rectified with replacement parts therefore they have referred me back to Amazon for replace ment or refund
My option would be replaceme
Really happy, easy to use and good quality for the money.
I bought this item after my Dyson powerhead broke as we had replaced some parts in the Dyson under warranty and didn’t really want to spend 70 on a new powerhead on a 4 year old vac.
The Tower vac is very good for the price and actually has better edge to edge cleaning than the Dyson but it doesn’t have the power that I need for cat hairs. Value for money wise though, it is a very good vac.
This is lightweight. Great for wizzing around the house. I find the suction is great at the lower setting especially with my type of carpet and having a dog. It lasts long enough to do all my downstairs and my couches in one go before having to charge it again. It doesnt last as long on the powerful suction. Put it’s perfect for what i need as my house is not large. It is not heavy at all and i love the light feature. It really lets you see what your picking up and it’s very satifying. I also live how you can make the hover full lenght, take off the pip and make it smaller. It’s ideal to hover my car. I’m so pleased with this product.
Very impressed with this hoover, good suction and compact ideal for use in a caravan….
Great vacuum for a small home, so easy to use and empty and the battery is more than adequate, you will need to go on full power to get larger items bits off the carpet-
Easy to assemble, light weight, great suction, with 2 speeds, and comes with attachments.Great purchase.
Can’t complain really. although you do need the wall bracket really as it will fall over if stood on it’s own and probably break.
Have had this for about a month now and still really happy with it. Light enough, but heavy enough that you can feel the quality and you can feel it doing its job. Charges quickly and the suction is great. I maintain mine regularly so empty and clean filters, snip any hairs around brush bar etc. The headlights on the front are great and allow you to see crumbs you wouldn’t see without. Great value, looks smart and carpets look great. Recommend.
So far so good i love how i do not have to use a electrical plug it just makes it so much easier to grab and vacum, so far so good. very light too and oh my the best thing is the head of vacuum cleaner drops so you can easily vacuum under bed, also I have this cushion and it’s placed in an area where it collects dust this really cleans it up, suc Tom is good. If you live in a small flat etc this is ideal as it stores awaY I’m the corner and is perfect to use. omg cordless vacuum cleaners are the way to go I’m very happy with this.
Arrived well packaged. Very easy to put together. I charged up the battery which was not completly flat. Took about 2.5 hours. The hoover is of light weight . I don’t have carpets only laminated floors and I don’t have pets so this review is based on hoovering laminated floors The hoover did a great job, with a light on the front so you can see into any dark corners. Afterwards the hoover dust bag was easily emptied. It is easier emptied removing it from the long arm .. also cleaned the filter which was easy to remove and put back again .. so far really pleased
Good building quality, compact, resistant and well made.
Lightweight and strong suction power, great on my carpet because of the pets.
Easy to control with the top buttons.
Just like other cordless vacuum cleaners the running time is not the greatest, up to 30min, but i understand that it would probably add weight to the product, otherwise great product.
This vac is great for hard floors. It’s incredibly light weight and is easy to use and charge.
The downside is the suction is no where near good enough for carpets.
Overall, if you need a very light weight vacuum for hard floors, you can’t go wrong. If you need it fir carpets – it just doesn’t cut it.
This Tower T513003 VL30 Plus Cordless 3-in-1 Vacuum Cleaner with HEPA , 1L, 2.2V Li-ion, Brushless Motor, Blue & Grey is great! Nice quality! easy to use! nice and lightweight! Suction power is good! It does the job! Good value for money
Really pleased with this vacuum. I find it very easy to use; light, manoeuvrable, clean and store. Good suction and good for a quick tidy over carpet. Excellent on hard floors.
This cordless vacuum is ideal for picking up light dust and dirt, cleaning the car or going up the stairs. It does a great job on hard floors and picks up surface dirt on carpets but the suction isn’t really strong enough for a deeper clean. You will find hair gets tangled up in the floor head quite quickly, so if your household is home to long-haired people or pets the vacuum will need cleaning out regularly, but this is easy enough to do and not an uncommon problem with vacuums generally.
Operation is simple, with one, well placed button offering two power modes – I tend to skip straight to turbo as it is the most effective. The battery lasted well too, I didn’t need to recharge until after a couple of uses and it’s straight forward to charge up as well. It’s also easy to empty the vacuum.
The range of attachments are great, they’re easy to swap out and attach firmly for use, it might have been nice to have a storage bag for the different pieces and the charger but it’s not a huge issue. The vacuum moves pretty well across most surfaces, especially hard floors, though I found because the floor head is so light it does need a little more force on some carpets. The vacuum is fairly quiet though does have a bit of a pitched whining noise when in use.
The great thing about the vacuum is it’s lightweight, easy to store and simple to use if you just need a quick clean round – for that purpose it’s good value and works a treat. I won’t be swapping it for my heavier wired cleaner just yet though, but it’s nice to have both as a option depending on the job.
The long-standing disagreement in our household over ‘Upright’ versus Henry-style vacuum cleaners has finally been solved – we are cordless converts. The Tower VL30PLUS is surprisingly manoeuvrable and the LED lights on the front really do help to spot the sneaky little bits of debris – I must admit that I thought that this feature was a bit ‘gimmicky’.
This vac feels heavy when you first pick it up, but once you start using it the weight then feels quite natural. It’s super easy to empty and runs very quietly compared to our standard vac. We haven’t exhausted the charge in one go, but feel that we could definitely (and thoroughly) cover our 3 bedroom terrace in one go. The turbo suction option is also really great.
We think we would still need a stronger vac if we had pets that shed a lot of hair, but for general use and light fur shedding this Tower upright is a great option.
This cordless vacuum cleaner comes in a printed cardboard box and inside you will find:
* Vacuum cleaner head
* Rechargeable battery pack
* AC power adapter
* Floor head
* 2 in 1 crevice brush
* Crevice tool
* Extension pole
* Wall mounting kit
The vacuum cleaner comes with everything you need included in the box and is easy to setup. It is lightweight and compact enough to store away or hang on the wall with the included wall mount. All of the components are locked into place so won’t come off with use. For instance, sliding the extension pole on to the cleaner head, it clicks in to place and is held in position with a clip. To release it, you have to press the release button and only then can the extension pole be removed. This also applies for the 2 in 1 crevice tool and the standard crevice tool. The cleaner has its dust tank built in, and to empty it, you simply hold it over your bin and press the door release the button. The dust and dirt falls out of the dust tank and you simply click the door shut and you’re good to go. There is a filter inside the dust tank which will need to be cleaned now and again when suction reduces due to it being clogged. It is easy to get to by pressing the button on the top of the cleaner head and a lid pops up. You can then slide the filter out, clean it, and then put it back in so super easy to clean.
Charging is simple with the included charger as you plug it in, and the battery will start charging and will indicate the charge level with 3 LEDs. These will start to illuminate incrementally and when all the LEDs are illuminated, it’s fully charged.
Using the vacuum is a joy due to it being light and also that it has two power modes. With the first press of the power button, it will start in normal mode and cleaned my laminated floor with no issues. It did a reasonable job on my carpet and cleaned it well, but I have a teenage daughter and I ended up with hair wrapped all around the bristles of the floor head, so I had to remove it twice to get the hair off before continuing again. I have this issue with my main vac, so it’s not unique to this one, but there is no groove in the head that allows you to get your scissors in there to cut it away easier, so I struggled to remove it. Easy enough to do, just a little time consuming. If you vacuum every day then it would be easier, as they’ll be less hair, but we don’t so it had built up a little. It cleaned the carpet ok but couldn’t get right up to the skirting board as it left about 2cm which it couldn’t reach. A quick toot round with the crevice tool cleaned that up though so it was no problem. Pressing the power button again and it goes into turbo mode which gives you more suction power but at the expensive of battery power as it will drain it a bit quicker. Great for stubborn dirt to get it up and then flick back to normal mode when done. The third press of the switch turns the vacuum cleaner off.
After using it for a while, I feel it is best used on turbo mode to get the best out of it. Normal mode is ok for laminate flooring, and other smooth surfaces, but for carpet, turbo mode is a must. It does a decent job of cleaning carpets, but I feel this is best as a complement to your existing hoover as it’s not as powerful as my old one. This is perfect for smooth flooring, cleaning the car, and cleaning the stairs and the occasional quick hoover up when you can’t be bothered to get your bigger vacuum cleaner out. If you vacuum up very frequently, and keep on top of the cleaning, it will probably do the job but for a deeper clean, you’ll be using your old, wired one. This also seemed to perform better with the crevice tools attached as it had better suction. I would presume the extension pole reduces the suction power a little with the distance it’s got to travel.
Overall, I’m happy to carry on using this as the results are pretty decent. If you have any accidents that require a quick vacuum, this is ideal and is ready to go when it’s charged. At only 8-11 Kpa suction power though, it’s not the strongest but the portability makes it a lot easier to use and comes in handy quite ofte
First impressions of this vacuum cleaner are that it’s quite lightweight and the components look and feel fairly high quality. The hand grip is comfortable in use, and the whole thing seems well designed. It’s very configurable — using the long tube you can use it as a standard upright cleaner, with it’s powered sweeper brush helping to restore the pile on your carpet, or you can use it as a handheld.
The attachments consist of a small crevice tool with optional brush, and a longer crevice tool. Both of these, and the powered sweeper brush head can be used either attached to the upright tube or attached directly to the motor so it can be used as a handheld device. Each attachment has a button release and clicks firmly into place on either the extension tube or the motor itself, and they all attach (and remove) really smoothly — nothing ever felt at risk of falling off during use, even during vigorous cleaning.
The motor itself has a detachable battery which has a plug in charger — the battery pack is removed from the motor for charging, and can be suspended from a useful holder on the vertical tube near floor level so it can be charged using a plug socket near your skirting board, though it can of course be charged anywhere that’s convenient. There are three indicator lights that flash in succession while the battery is charging and remain solid when charging is complete. These lights gradually go out as the battery loses charge during use, with a recharge being necessary when the last light disappears.
The motor itself has two settings — standard and turbo, these are selected by pressing the start switch once for standard and then again for the turbo setting — a third click of the switch will turn the motor off. The turbo setting gives, as the name suggests, stronger suction but this is at the expense of battery time and noise levels (it is significantly noisier during turbo mode).
As an upright cleaner, I liked its ease of use and manoeuvrability — the head rotates through 180 degrees and it’s very easy to change direction while pushing the vacuum across carpet – it was also very easy to use on my vinyl kitchen floor. However, I felt that the standard setting just wasn’t enough to make much of an impression on the carpet, as much of the suction strength of the motor is reduced by the use of the long tube. It was better on turbo mode, with the carpet pile being brought up and reasonable amounts of dirt/dust/hairs being released from the carpet fibres. Being so lightweight, it was very easy to use this as an upright on my stairs too, something I wouldn’t contemplate with my usual upright. The sweeper head was just the right size to cover the width of the stair tread, and while it did a decent job, it was difficult to clean the sides of the stair treads effectively as the head doesn’t seem to be great at picking up stuff near the edges. There are four “headlights” in the sweeper head, which may be of some use to you if you clean under furniture frequently (and this head is good at getting into small spaces as it has a low profile), but otherwise are a bit of a gimmick.
Having emptied the cylinder (a very simple, one button job which releases a hinged lid and allows you to empty the contents directly into a bin or bag), I decided to go over the stairs again using the cleaner as a handheld device this time. I pressed the button to release the motor from the upright tube and simply attached the longer crevice tool directly to the motor, then cleaned each stair again. A surprising amount of dirt was picked up on this second pass — as alluded to earlier, using the attachments directly on the motor resulted in a much stronger suction, and being able to effectively clean right up to the edges of the stairs with the slim nozzle meant that nothing was missed.
I haven’t mentioned yet that I have long hair, a lot of which chooses not to remain attached to my head, so there is always a LOT of hair in my vacuum cleaner! The Tower cleaner was just the same, with hairs wrapped around the beater bar and also around the filter in the centre of the dust cylinder. However, both were a doddle to remove — there is a small plate on the base of the sweeper head which is released with a slide switch, then the entire beater bar can be easily removed and cleaned, whilst the centre of the dust cylinder is easy to remove via the same door that allows emptying of the cylinder. The whole vacuum is very easy to disassemble for easy cleaning of the components — as well as the parts I’ve just mentioned, there’s a button on top of the motor to access the air filter, which is also easy to remove and clean (and presumably replacements are available for purchase if necessary).
As mentioned, this is a lightweight cleaner, though it has to be said that if you’re spending a lot of time using this as a handheld, you may find that it is eventually tiring on your wrist, as the battery pack is surprisingly heavy after a while! I did manage to clean my entire house on a single charge (it states 35 minutes cleaning time) though this will obviously vary depending on how much you use the turbo feature and how vigorous you are in your cleaning regime. It is easy to store, being relatively slim in design, though I suspect the supplied bracket would come in useful if you aren’t storing it in a corner or cupboard, as it isn’t great at standing up by itself without help. I don’t know that I could honestly say this would completely replace my standard, wired upright cleaner, as this one doesn’t quite have the same cleaning power, but I’ll have a go at using it solo for a couple of months and see whether I’ll miss my old vacuum or not.
To sum up:-
Best features — cordless (obviously!), good battery life, ease of use, lightweight, easy to clean and maintain.
Worst features — heavy as a handheld, sweeper head not great at edges, quite noisy.
Really happy with this new vacuum cleaner. It’s lightweight, with fantastic suction. Easy to use as a hand held cleaner. The tools are great. No cables to trip over, no cleaner to pull round after you. It is light and easy to use and you can get into the corners and under the bed easily. The section isn’t as strong as my upright vacuum but it works fine. Haven’t needed to charge the battery yet and I live in a 3-bedroomed house. My kids like this hoover as its so easy to use.
A pretty good vaccuuming choice, it’s lightweight,doesn’t take up much storage space, has that skinny-cool look I favour. Takes a while to charge up but cleans up incidental messes very efficiently. Probably not suitable for the sort of carnage builders leave behind (I have had recent experience of this) but you can’t have everything. Actually, why can’t we have everything? Open discussion to follow…
I’m not sure about the rules of Amazon reviews, whether I’m allowed to make direct comparisons with a different, named brand. I I will, in this review, make some comparisons between this vacuum cleaner and ‘the premium brand’ which I won’t name but I’ll just call it ‘TPB’ and we’ll all know what I’m talking about.
Bottom line, comparing this vacuum to TPB, it really stands up very well – especially considering it’s a fraction of the price of TPB. And it has some features that I think are actually better than other brands.
This vacuum is pretty lightweight to handle. Admittedly, the battery pack adds quite a bit of weight to it when you put it in, but at least that weight is up in your hand, rather than at the end of a long tube. I definitely do like the fact that this has a detachable battery pack which you remove for charging. For a start, if the battery pack dies, you should just be able to get a new one, rather than spelling the death of the whole machine. Also, it’s much easier and less cumbersome to just plug in the battery pack to charge, rather than the whole machine. It’s fine if you use the wall-mounting but we keep our hoover in the cupboard under the stairs and there’s no mains socket in there, so to have the whole machine sitting in the kitchen while it’s plugged in is irritating. Just the battery pack is much neater.
The handle of this hoover is comfortable to hold. The on/off switch is not a trigger in the handle (as in TPB) but is positioned just above the handle at a very convenient point for your thumb to reach it. I like this because, with the trigger in the handle arrangement, every time you pick the thing up, you accidentally touch the trigger and set the thing going. Very annoying. With this machine, one thumb touch starts it, another puts it into maximum suction and then a third turns it off again. Also you don’t have to keep your finger pressed on the trigger ask the while you’re running the hoover.
The connectors to join the various nozzles and accessories to the machine are easy to attach and detach and feel like they’ll be fairly robust. I like that the big carpet/floor sweeping head has a little row of LEDs on it, so if you’re vacuuming behind the sofa or somewhere dark, it lights the area for you.
The vacuum has very good suction and cleaning power. We’ve tried it on carpets and kitchen tiled floor and I used the nozzle to pick up all the gravel and dust from the footwells in my car, and it does an excellent job. The button to open the dust chamber for disposal into the dustbin is very simple and straightforward (more so than TPB).
Overall, we are really impressed with this vacuum cleaner and would recommend this to anyone – especially if you were considering paying twice or even three times the price for TPB!
I got this as our previous cordless vacuum is now suffering from battery life issues (lasts 5 mins on a full charge, the battery must have degraded over the years).
This is much lighter and easier to use in handheld mode, as you can disassemble and use the various attachments that come with this to make cleaning nooks and crannies easier.
This came in handy when cleaning the car, as the crevice attachments meant my wife wasn’t saying “you missed a spot” to me.
Something to bear in mind is that this doesn’t do as well on things like cat hair (we have a long haired one, it did struggle to pick up his fur), but will clean up spills like flour or dirt pretty well.
For heavy duty cleaning, you will still need something like a Dyson.
However, this is so handy for quick cleans and for the car etc.
Cordless vacuum that’s easy to use has a motorised head and attachments one battery and charger has two speeds and is ideal for laminate floors struggled a bit on the bedroom carpet but it did go all the way under the bed which is a bonus the battery has three lights showing charge available ideal as a second Vac
This vacuum is just AMAZING. It’s super lightweight, manageable for people with less muscle (like me). It does not create unbearable loud noise, while it does its job perfectly. Very easy to maneuver. Highly recommended!
I’ve had this a couple of weeks now mainly for the car and the stairs. It is much better than I thought it would be and I’m using it every where. It hasn’t run out of battery yet while using which surprised me compared to my previous well known brand one. It picks everything up and it’s really easy to empty after using it I did think I might be just throwing away my money and I would end up buying a more expensive one but I am genuinely surprised with how good it is
Light weight easy to use vacuum. Great for all kinds of hard floors and mats, not great for deep pile carpets, only picks up surface dirt/bits on these, It is ok on hard floors but there’s no suction at all & definitely doesn’t pick much up from low carpets.
Run time is great and we’ve used it loads already.
Good vacuum great for a quick clean around the house when short on time.
It’s very light and easy to use , battery last pretty long but it doesn’t have a strong suction. For a second hoover is handy.
Overall this is a great little cordless vac and does the job well.
