This camera is brilliant for the price. I got it because my cat gets the zoomies at night and slides into doors, which sounds like a break in sometimes! The clarity of the night vision is brilliant & the customisation for notifications is really useful. Just all-round great camera & app.
Was a bit worried because of how cheap it is but it really is an amazing little gadget! Picture quality is amazing. Sound is clear as well. Comes with screws so it can be mounted to the wall and also comes with a stand. Takes a SD card or you can subscribe to online storage. No annoying ringing sounds when it sends you notifications either it’s a simple ping sound. Can choose the times you get motion notifications too. 10/10 will be buying one for the back of the house too!
We have a few of these cameras now dotted round the house to keep an eye on our rescue dog during work hours. Very good quality cameras. So easy to set up and the app is Brilliant. I recommend these to my friends and family
Does what it says! Great little camera for a low price. Can’t fault it really except that the night mode and auto are rubbish, probably because mine is up against the window but I keep it on day mode all the time and it’s great.
Easy to setup
Good picture quality
App can be accessed across multiple devices
Microphone and speaker
Alarm
Night Vision
Motion Detection
Overall, highly recommened. Does everything you would want from a security camera.
Good for the price, although has one issue, if placed behind glass, it won’t record anything in night mode, probably due to reflection, otherwise goid product, you get push notifications when it detects a movement.
Easy to set up but already had a tapo camera so had app downloaded.
Decent quality. Good in daylight and works well in the dark
This is a static camera so can’t move it via app
Good produc
I fixed the Tapo cam as my baby monitoring cam near his crib. Works really well for me. It has got a privacy mode setting too. I loved the quality of the video it captures. I highly recommend this product.
Great little camera. I have six of these around the house inside & out. Ounce you sus how to set it up (not too difficult) good quality video &recordings. Plenty of modes to set up personal preferences.
All in all, it’s a great little camera and a good replacement for my needs.
I’m using it to monitor my front door, and to record events that I may have missed. I’m using the Alexa app to automatically display the camera feed on a Fire 10 tablet when motion is detected. Initially, I was unable to access the motion detection events. I’m unsure if I missed it or got confused when renaming the three cameras that I own, or if an update fixed the problem. In any case, it works well through the Alexa app.
+ The camera is good quality and matches what you would expect for a camera of this value.
+ Motion detection will notify your phone in realtime so you can immediately log on to see what is going on (all being possible remotely, as long as you have mobile internet/wifi).
+ It is so easy to set up – even me (who has an aversion to instruction manuals, and zero common sense) could follow it.
+ The speed is great – it’s in real time, and there weren’t any ‘lags’ or glitches.
+ There is an app to view cameras (at least for iPhone) which is so easy to use. The layout shows all cameras that you have connected so you can swap between them.
+ There’s a helpful ball axis so you can angle the camera sideways, horizontally and vertically to your liking.
+ The camera comes on a tiny secure stand and is virtually ‘ready to go’ on receipt.
+ There are helpful settings so you can disable motion detection if you want to, specifically between certain times.
+ You can add multiple cameras to your account in one handy place, and you can even ‘share’ cameras. So, you and a partner, for example, can link the same camera and view simultaneously.
+ You can name separate cameras and link them very easily to your account.
+ The date and time is listed on the screen so you can prove timings if recording is necessary.
+ Overview on your account will enable you to see which cameras are ‘online’ and ‘offline’.
+ Troubleshooting help is available on the App easily.
+ Wide lens to enable a larger range
– Unfortunately there were some detection issues. Whilst tiny birds would set off the sensor on one, the other failed to detect a person coming into my home office. The same camera has since detected people, so I think it is a consistency issue rather than camera-specific defect.
– I believe you have to pay to upgrade to store/record videos – although that’s avoidable if you are quick to notice detection and do a screen recording on your iPhone.
– Frustratingly, whilst you can turn off detection at specific times, you cannot modify the days. That can be an issue if you have yourself in the frame and you want to monitor your office all the time that you are not there, but you are not there all day on a specific day, because you can only choose times to turn off detection. You have to manually change it (and remember to – that’s the big issue!)
– If you have a camera that is linked to somebody else’s, and you subsequently add another, it will link yours to their account too. That can be irritating as notifications will go to both when movement is detected, when you may be the only one who wants to see both cameras, and them, one.
– Notification settings are shared, so if your fellow viewer disables them, they become disabled on yours without warning. That can be frustrating, and similarly, if one phone was to go AWOL, it would be easier for privacy invasion.
– When using 4G on the App I have had issues with connections, and it is therefore not the most consistent/reliable support.
Motion detection
Can record to Micro SD card
You can talk through a speaker on the
camera. Good for pets or scaring
people
Cons:
I have to remove and put the SD card
back in every few days as it tells me it
detected a new card and to initialise it,
which fails unless the card is taken out
and put back in which means you can’t
record if you are out and this problem
occurs.
I have to unplug it every few days as it
just stops working
Overall I recommend it and hopefully you get one that works better than mine
Easy to install easy to set up
Amazing video, and best of all……inexpensive!
This is fantastic for keeping an eye on my dogs. Great picture quality and motion detection is great!
It’s ok! use it indoors for outside blind spot when expecting deliveries! Also used for indoors, Handy that you can talk through it. Does have a time delay discovered. But otherwise happy.
Such a good price and so easy to use.
I have inserted memory cards so no need to pay for special memberships or storage.
Brilliant picture and a wide lens.
Easy to look back and record certain clips to keep.
The handyman that came round to put them on the wall for me was so impressed he went home and ordered some himself!
Images are really good sound quality is excellent can actually hear what someone is saying when you talk through the speakers. Would recommend
This camera is amazing for the price. I opted for the 30 model. It was super simple to set up. Just plug in, download the app and connect easily. The picture is so clear even when in night mode. I am literally so suprised at the quality considering the price. I got this to monitor my puppy during the night and when I’m out the house and you can also talk through the monitor to them. It’s actually that good I’ve just purchased a second one as I’m going to use the other one to look out onto the front of my house to monitor the car. Just purchase it. You won’t be dissapointed. Just purchase a micro sd card pop it in and it will store your recordings for you. You also have the option to switch of the camera and also choose what notifications you want to be alerted by such as person detection or motion detection. And you can link more than one camera, I think you can have around 30 linked to one app and access all of them.
brought to keep an eye on my dog whelping and now used to keep an eye on pups. such good quality for little price
Great value for money and a fantastic product, only thing I wish it came with a suction thing so I could stick to a wall.
brought this for peace of mind i put this facing outside as you can see the images am brill ones day and ones nite vision i can’t put it on infa red as it just records the red dot but switched on day mode all the time as u can see no issues it lets u know of movement even when i’m out through my phone i’ve put a card in mine so i can record
well worth buying for 20 quid
It was fine until I changed my broadband, I tried resetting it but the reset button doesn’t work as it felt that it wasn’t their as went to reset but the thing I used didn’t touch it in any way, I’ve tried other ways with no joy, so looks like am without my security camera
This camera is excellent there is no need to buy top brand names or paying ridiculous prices when you have products like this on the market easy to use, easy setup, easily installed app I would HIGHLY recommend this to ANYONE looking to buy a camera If you have a outside light and keep it on when it’s dark, you can keep the camera inside your window and it works just as good as an outside camera
Exactly what I needed. I can’t afford expensive CCTV and this is great. Although the night vision doesn’t work from the inside as it reflects of the window to outside but if you keep it as day mode it works brilliant. Providing there’s still lights outside. Motion detection works really well and gives exact times. Got the free months trial on the cloud so I haven’t needed to buy a SD card this month as it stores all the motion. Detects motion and people separately. It’s a brilliant little camera.
Day vision is pretty good, night vision is almost as good, and perfect for our kitchen and extra window camera.
If thinking of purchasing a tapo camera I’d personally spend a few pounds more and get the c210 model, with pan and tilt feature, worth the extra!
These cameras work very well and set up only takes 10 minutes if you’re tech savvy or know enough about tech.
The quality is good enough for my purposes and they are small enough to be discreet.
The only issue I have is that sometimes the cameras disconnect from the application. Not sure if it’s a manufacturers problem or my Internet connection but otherwise I’d highly recommend them
Looks good, nice and compact.
I’m not a gadget wiz but I had it all set up in around twenty mins. Very easy. Lots of great features too, including a 3m adapter lead.
The live delay is a couple of seconds and the video is motion activated from around 25-30ft
You can pause the playback and zoom in on the phone without losing clarity.
I haven’t used all of the features yet, but for 20 i’m really happy and have purchased another for the rear of the house. It has already exceeded my expectations.
You can add up to 32 cameras on the app and it is really easy to swipe from one to the other with minimal effort.
I got the camera initially because I have recently had prowlers looking at my vehicle….Look all you want because now you are on camera!! Don’t forget to smile 🙂
Ok…I’ve had an issue with recording in the dark. All i get is the security camera recording itself. Not good!! defeats the object.
It is the infa red rebounding off of the glass. As i cannot turn off the infa red on the TC60 unit I turned it back on to day mode. Uerika!! A descent view of the street again. very grainy but something is better than nothing. Plus I do have a street light shining straight on my window. Tomorrow I will a put bit of low tack masking tape to cover the infa red. I will then try night mode again. Worth a go.
P.S: To turn on/off light modes: open the app, click on Tapo camera, then click on the ‘sun’ icon Top right… sorted!
Camera quality is good. Night vision is stellar for inside use, you will not miss a thing. Black cat on dark sheets? Nope you can still see it when its in IR night vision mode.
Microphone is sensitive too.
I wish the power adapter was longer, and the DC input jack wasn’t recessed / had a wider ‘mouth’ to it… I’ve bought extensions cables and found that i can’t plug them in as the cable’s sleeve hits the body of the camera before making electrical contact.
I kinda wish the cable was white coloured too… black cables stick out like a sore thumb on light coloured walls, this makes it mandatory to have white cable extensions.
+No subscription required, just a microsd card.
+Small.
+Motion detection.
+Low cost.
Cons:
-Motion detection isn’t smart, passing cars headlights reflecting on your driveway will trigger it. I turn of the alarm/notifications. I use my Ring doorbell for that bit.
-Night vision isn’t great without the IR, but as I have mine mounted in a window I can’t use the IR as it reflects back into it. Purely indoors it’s good.
-App can be a git to connect to the camera when out and about. Unless you have perfect signal, good luck.
Basically, it’s pretty decent for the money. Not needing to pay out for yet another subscription service is why I bought it. I have a Ring doorbell and recently looking to add cameras to it. Heh, nah, not as those prices.
I also have a C210 pan/tilt model. This is larger, but has much better night vision.
