Good powerfull sound for the price. Looks decent, quick delivery- what’s not to like?
Nice upgrade to my 20yr plus old TRUST PC speakers. Main like is that they fitted up the same as my old set up so virtually a simple plug in and play ….very pleased so fa
The bass is insanely loud, and overall decent quality.
I would have like the volume control on the front for easier access as once the bass unit is in a TV cabinet the side volume control is quite awkward to access.
Aside from that a worthy purchase & great TV sound.
Placed the order thinking yeah right this should be ok. Plugged it in and right from turning the volume up it was something els , this speaker system is great. Best thing i have bought in years, i love it . Great for pc gaming or just chilling to youtube .
buying speakers over the net is hit and miss, ive bought ALOT, i was expecting much in this price range and when i first tried it i wasnt to pleased at all, but after fidling with the control on the side i was blown away, for its price its a very good sounding kit, the base is good, the tweeters arnt bad no out of place high pitches and mid range alos very good,
Will it do a large party no,
great for movies, home scoial parties and gaming
Really pleased with this. The volume control is very smooth and allows for precise control. Have seen others mention that the control doesn’t effect the volume of things plugged into the headphone jack but I think I prefer this way as you don’t have to adjust the volume again once you stop using headphones. Only small gripe I do have is that the cables connect into the side of the subwoofer rather than the back, so you can see them sticking really easily if you have the speaker part facing front.
I bought this after searching around for speakers for quite some time and finally bit the bullet and grabbed these. Such a fantastic set of speakers, the bass is unbelievable. For the price you pay for these, they are worth every penny. I have these connected to my PC and they’re very easy to set up. Wish they came with a remote but you do get a slider for easy volume control.
BUY THESE IF YOU NEED SPEAKERS. You will not regret it!!!
Reasonable quality though the speakers are very basic. Subwoofer is good and bass pretty fair. Sound does distort at high levels but then the neighbours would be hammering on the door! My personal gripe is they never make the cables long enough
The volume is more than enough for a decent sized living room, the ability to adjust bass levels is great (particularly when listening late at night with neighbours rarely too far away in London). There are better speakers out there for music listening, sure, but at this price point, you would SERIOUSLY struggle to find a set with this level of staying power and quality.
Considering all the hours of joy I’ve had out of this purchase — one which, if I’m honest, I was skeptical about making and thought might last all of three months — it might potentially be one of the best purchases I’ve made in the last 10 years.
I’ve had this speaker since the start of my university life and I would say it hasn’t let me down the sound quality is good it can get very loud if you having a party and the Bluetooth pairing is straight forward enough for anyone to connec
I have gone to uni, transported these back n forth from many rooms for many reasons, I even move my desk/room around a lot. This speaker set I own has gone through a lot! Drops, knocks, split drinks, etc.
They still sort of work now. 1 small speaker has died and I have some damage to wires (caught between furniture) but the bass and remainder speaker still work fine. I am treating myself as I have a new desk and got a new job which means I’ll be at my desk much more so want to have a new fresh start.
It is loud, I don’t ever have it at 100%, I have the Volume at about 80% and the bass 70% estimating on the subwoofer but as it is controlled by the spin gadget, that spin gadget is never at 100% either, maybe 70% if I want to boom out some music, and I am not a considerate neighbour during the day…plus I love rock music so a lot of bass and ‘aggressive noise’.
It’s cheaper, which I had hoped for 6 years difference, good to see so many other positive reviews. I would wait to buy this in the price range of 40-60, but that being said, it is worth it considering my quick shop around most other speakers of 25-75 pounds doesn’t seem to be as good as these stats wise. The 25-35 range tends to be very low wattage… I still want loud music! 35+ much better wattage but not as much or same as these and fewer stars and the design seem awkward… I don’t know perhaps I am biased knowing that these speakers have really done me well. Why take a gamble on a set that is similar stat-wise when I know these do all that I need for PC speakers!
There’s a whole in the spin gadget to put music into, buy a double male audio lead and your friends can play music from their mp3s players/phones and I also put my electric drum set into it (I’m rubbish at drums so my neighbours do love me haha)
The best for its price. Good quality, deep bass and crisp treble. I never use it at full power because I live in a flat but I assume it would be quite powerful. The cables you get are: power plug (about 150cm could use with a longer one) / cables to connect the 2 speakers to subwoofer / a cable that you plug into the laptop (or smartphone etc) coming from the subwoofer and linked to the “remote” as well, this one is of a good length if you have everything relatively close. At most you can put the 2 speaker in a radius of about 110cm from subwoofer.
A little missing detail: the knobs on the subwoofer for volume and bass are completely black, so if you don’t play with them you can’t see which level you’re at.
Overall I’m very happy with the product.
The one thing I will say is that the leads from the box to the left and right speakers is a little short, as is the lead from the volume control to the jack plug, for me that is not a problem as I have a shelf that speakers and boom box sit on. This also makes switching the speaker system on and of easy.
The sound is great as you can adjust the bass on the box to how you want to hear the music, they have enough power to satisfy most people, even when turned down to a low setting there is no loss of clarity.
If you are looking for a mid priced speaker system then I would recommend this one by Trust.
If you want “loud” speakers I would look elsewhere but I wanted clarity and lack of distortion, particularly with speech and these certainly deliver that. So overall happy. The only reason I dropped one star is that there is no way they have the power they claim
Pros:
1. The bass is AMAZING. Seriously, the sub woofer on this is incredible to almost cinematic levels. Epic when you are watching a movie.
2. The design is sharp, slick looking.
3. Volume can reach very loud levels.
Cons:
1. The speakers make a crackling noise sometimes, even at medium volume levels.
2. The sound quality I’d say is only adequate.
3. No bluetooth. But yes, there is a version you can buy which has bluetooth connectivity.
Overall, these speakers are a good purchase for a small to even large bedroom, they get the job done, they are great for watching movies. The sub woofer is incredible but I’d say the main issue for me is the speakers are a bit weak, and crackle too much, especially at loud volumes.
Planned to give max 3*, as twitters are CUT OUT of this set. I had total 3 ‘exactly’ the same sets over the years from exactly the ‘same’ company and manufacturer. It turns out, over the years, on 3rd set, twitter’s are NON existent, which at very beginning annoyed me very much and wanted to return it. However. The price is the lowest for this class of 2.1 speakers TRUST. Just a pity and regret not keeping the 2nd set, where there were 2 physical speakers membranes in each of small satellites, with BEAUTIFUL twitters (for that price). Now all mid and highs are going on one NON twitter membrane, naturally cutting twitters to near non existent. So to hear twitters and highs, equaliser in use. Overall the cheapest set in market for that price from ‘good’ TRUST company. Great bass, and massive power to price. 1st set the volume knob went on the unit, probably killed by me, by using it at above max levels of volume, promptly replaced. 2nd set after more than a year was still working fine (equally tormented with above max volume powers) 🙂 One of the best items in my purchase lot.
Struggles with the Highs, but not too noticeable unless you use hi end HiFi equiptment.
Bass balancing is a little weak in the -70hz frequencies but 85-130hz can punch decent enough to make you want to rock your head uncontrollably.
They do look nice and clean with the shiny finish, and the cable lengths are acceptable.
Overall for a cheap thrills 2.1 this is fine for Uni students and stuff, but maybe not you entry level audio thrill seekers. Games/TV/Computer usage etc, but I wouldn’t recommend for music activities/pleasures alone. You’ll want to spend more for that.
The sound quality is incredible, as is the bass which can be adjusted by a dial on the side of the speaker. It is also extremely loud, I don’t even think I’ve had it up to full volume as a result.
The bluetooth is strong, I can be anywhere in the room and still enjoy perfect audio. It only starts to break up when I enter a different room and there is then an old solid brick wall between the devices.
There is no remote to switch between bluetooth and aux input which for some may be a negative point. I however only use the bluetooth so this is not an issue for myself.
After having this speaker set for roughly a year, using it frequently at mid level volume, I have not noticed any deterioration in quality what-so-ever so it seems to be extremely well built.
Really sturdy piece of equipment, nicely packaged and had no issues with it so far – been using it for 2 months now.
Quality sound is ok, as we are not talking about an expensive system, but for the price its quite good. Nice bass and on top of it all it has a little remote (wired not wireless) where you can plug your headphones, or the audio source and also change the volume. The volume knob i like the best.
I would of given it a 5 star if it had better wiring – as they look and feel very cheap.
All in all, i recommend this.
The reason for my 4 stars is because you really have to have the bass on the sub kept to around 2/3rd’s to hear any bass, otherwise the mids over power it.
All in all, absolutely brilliant system!
I’m no expert, just a general consumer – I find them powerful, dynamic in the range of sound and VERY powerful! As other reviews have said, the bass is phenomenal, I agree with them 100%. If anything, this is one of very few faults I find with the system… the bass simply massively out powers the satellite speakers. That said, if you’re a bass-loving maniac on a budget, these bad boys are for you.
Even though the bass is much more powerful than the satellite speakers, there is a twiddly knob thing to control the bass itself, this I find very helpful as once you’ve tuned it to suite your style of music/use (i use them to listen to the radio listen to dubstep, and are hooked up to my TV for an innovative/cheap soundbar alternative). The little volume dial doobry is awesome!
**Key selling point**
The volume turny thing – My speaker set is plugged very simply into the mains and into my TV. This works beautifully. They’re perfectly in sync with the TV and provide a much needed volumetric boost.. BUT the key point being that, once an audio jack is plugged into the speaker set at the volume turney thing, the audio input to the speakers switched immediately from the TV to whatever it is you’ve just plugged in. I love it. So you can have them plugged into the TV and playing sound from there… then plug in your phone to play separate music and immediately swap! The TV continues un-disturbed except with to volume from anywhere, and the speakers are then-on playing from your phone/input device. Quick, easy, powerful alternative to an expensive (but potentially worth it… I wouldn’t know) soundbar.
Speakers for your bedroom, TV or kitchen/social area? Buy these. They full the house (3 stories) never mind the room.
Very loud and powerful speakers and as the brand specify you should Trust them.
The packaging is quite simple, coming with the main subwoofer and two satellite speakers with an easy to use volume controller. One the subwoofer you have a base and main volume control so you can change them to your own specification.
I bought these speakers to go in my student dorm, I had these connected to my desktop PC.
They are very loud with my entire flat being able to hear the music down the corridor.
The volume control has a 3.5mm jack so you can connect devices by that too.
The subwoofer cuts out anything below 50hz, but that isn’t the main issue as most songs don’t use the base at that level.
The “eco” button means that after a certain amount of time the speakers will cut off power to save electricity meaning they are ready to go at any point as you won’t have to physically turn them on and off each time.
I used Amazon prime for this product so it arrived the next day.
The only problem I have with the speakers is they don’t have Bluetooth so I couldn’t easily connect my iPhone however with the newest update to the speakers you can have this feature so I would recommend going with this speaker set up as this would be good for a student set up.

In order to do this, I also had to purchase a HDMI audio breakout box. What this does is splits the audio from a HDMI cable and converts it to a standard Mini Jack output so it can be connected to any standard speaker system that support a mini jack stereo feed. In this case, the Trust Tytans.
As I was feeding my TV box into the Xbox one via it’s HDMI in, the plan was that this would improve the audio quality of the TV and the Xbox, in one economical master stroke.
The first step was connecting the HDMI out from the Xbox One to the HDMI Audio in breakout box. It was then simply a matter of connecting the speakers to the mini jack output of the HDMI Audio breakout box and connecting the HDMI out from the breakout box to the HDMI in on the screen.
The important thing note is that the breakout box duplicates the HDMI audio stream via mini jack output and still sends this to the HDMI input of the screen, so you need to turn the TV volume to zero, otherwise you will hear two audio streams, slightly out of sync with each other.
I was expecting to hear some improvement in audio quality, as the LG speakers built into the screen are merely adequate. In reality there was a world of difference between the two. The Tytan’s provide a rich deep bass with vastly superior mid tone reproduction compared to the LG screens weedy speakers. This provides a much better gaming experience and improved my viewing pleasure watching TV and movies. Music playback is also significantly enhanced with great quality bass and mid tones. The only caveat I would say is that my review here is based on a comparison between the LG speakers and the Tytan 2.1’s. In this respect they do vastly improve the audio quality and are well worth the money.
The only thing that’s bugging me is that I hadn’t invested in the solution sooner and had suffered with substandard audio from the LG speakers for far too long. The difference between the two is massive. Don’t underestimate the difference this makes watching movies or playing video games. Better audio provides a vastly more immersive experience and you notice audio nuances that TV speakers simply can’t reproduce. Musically speaking I noticed the biggest difference when playing Flac audio files. The difference is akin it listening to music with earbuds in when played through the internal speakers on the LG. Through the Tytans it’s vastly clearer, with fuller body and richer bass.
I’ll start by saying that I’m no audio fanatic but if you’re also looking at a set of 50 speakers I’m guessing you aren’t either. I bought these as I just wanted a solid set of speakers for my PC that didn’t break the bank; safe to say I am not disappointed! Build quality is pretty good, look quite smart, super simple set up and decent cable length. For a casual home user I think the sound these speakers pump out is great quality. I’m unsure they’d be up to spec to keep a full house party going but if I did have neighbours I’m sure I’d be getting some noise complaints. Volume and bass are adjustable through the sub and the separate volume control is proper handy to keep on my desktop. For the price these were well worth it!
I bought these speakers to replace my ageing Boston Acoustics 2.1 speakers, which I had for a very long time.
The satellite speakers are light and a bit flimsy looking. The cables provided with the speakers also don’t look and feel amazing. But one has to keep in mind these are not meant for audiophiles and they don’t cost that much.
They are very easy to set up. The separate volume control is very useful, in addition to the volume and bass control provided on the sub-woofer unit.
I’ve only had them for a day, but so far I am very pleased with the performance. They are a very good set of speakers for day to day computer use, such as listening to some music stored on your computer, youtube, etc. They are by no means HI Fi quality, but still very very good. The bass needs to be adjusted to taste, as it can get quite loud and overwhelm.
So far I have had no issues with buzzing noises or other distortions as others have mentioned. But to be fair, I’m not trying to bring the house down either and potentially damaging the speakers.
Overall a very good product and good value for money.
I have not owned this system long enough to give really a substantial review, But after going through it and testing it i will give this a review which at some stage will update. First impressions on construction of the unit and speakers, I did not find any signs really of this being a tacky or cheapy system. In fact what blew my mind was the sound it gave it was well balanced and ticked every box, On looks and sound. I could not fault it. Love the glossy black colour to!. Ok now here is the only gripe, I wish this was a wireless volume control, you are hampered by an RCA cable going to the main unit and the mic plug going to the PC. The lead actually stops you so far down in stripping the cables further apart. I also found that the speaker cable connections could have been longer as for me they were far too short. If like me you like the speakers wider apart i would suggest you also get either two RCA cables that you can strip apart so you end up with two leads, or try buy two RCA cables separate. Make sure that you get the cables so one end has the socket plug, and the other end actually has the plug so that they go together neatly. Or purchase a couple of connectors that will go between the RCA cables. Decent system for me at a decent price that won’t break the bank, and is durable. However how durable we will see. Two days in am loving this system. I have a number of items made by this company and must say in all time i have used their products i have been more than happy.
I did wonder why these are in the computer section, rather than in the musical instruments / electronics ones like most others. I now know: it’s because the wired remote volume control is basically a variable resistor in between a 3.5mm audio jack (for your PC / laptop / tablet / mp3 player’s headphone or aux out socket) and a pair of phono jacks (for this). If you want to connect something phono-phono, you either have to have an adaptor or do without the remote. I’ve done the latter.
It’s only at this point that having the sockets and controls on the side of the sub-woofer, rather than at the back, makes sense. Fortunately, they do include knobs to adjust the general volume and bass.
Good: They sound ok for both musical and explosion-filled soundtracks. If you want to simulate an earthquake, the sub-woofer will do it. The amplifier is in that, so there’s less issue with overheating seen in some 2.0 speakers (have a look at the reviews for the Mackie ones…)
Not so good: I doubt they’re going to last twenty plus years – the L/R pair are distinctly light – and the sub-woofer isn’t exactly easy to place given its size (it’s basically a cube) and the necessity to have easy access to it. The leads to both L/R could be longer and aren’t replaceable.
I love these speakers. They are loud, don’t take up toooo much room and the bass in excellent. The only downside is that you can’t buy spare parts for it. The good news is that I emailed the company and they sent me out a replacement audio jack thingy for free, which is excellent service, but finding their contact details online and trying to find the right speaker is pretty hard and long winded. So you have to work for it. I would much rather simply be able to purchase replacement leads and cables on-line myself but since they post the items out free I shouldn’t complain, it is excellent service after all.
All in all, I am very happy with this product and have recommended it to all my friends and family. If you are looking for a set of speakers for your laptop/ desktop that goes loud and has a very decent, adjustable, bass, then this is the item for you. Since you can turn the bass right down you can play relatively loud music without disturbing your neighbours. And if you next door neighbour is having a psychotic break and chanting on the balcony again you can turn the volume and bass way up and play the song that goes ” They’re coming to take you away, ha ha, they’re coming to take you away, to the funny farm…”. And yes, I am cruel. But I did try explaining that Satan has better things to do than possess him for 5 years, he is very busy destroying the world and what makes him so special the devil would pick him of all people! And I asked why chant gibberish on the balcony because Satan would be pretty useless if he wasn’t bi-lingual and therefore speaking in English would work just as well.
The sound from these speakers is magnificent, the bass can be as heavy as you want it and the volume the same I can’t fault them al all, even the mids and highs are great, if you want a set of great quality Bluetooth speakers these are the ones for you they are brilliant. Then why only 4 stars I hear you ask, on sound quality they certainly deserve 5 stars. The reasons for only 4 stars are two:-
1, The plug in points for the cables to link the small speakers and the volume and bass control are on the side of the main bass unit instead of the back, which means when I walk into the room I see the cables, plug in points and controls which slightly spoils the look of other wise very stylish speakers. This has one bonus means its easier to control volume and bass without having to reach to back of unit. A better solution would have been to put the connections and pairing controls at the back and the volume and bass control on the front of the unit.
2, The remote control which is wired seems to need connecting to the base unit with two phono plugs (which is fine) but also seems to have to plug into my laptop with a jack plug, which somewhat defeats the Bluetooth, no wires. If that was also Bluetooth it doesn’t pair no matter what I do. But irrespective of how I connect, either not plugging into laptop, or plugging into my laptop it doesn’t work at all. All plugged in and turning the knob doesn’t alter volume at all. As it happens I actually don’t need it as I set the volume on the bass unit at a setting higher than I’le ever use and then adjust the volume on my laptop.
Anyway the speakers are magnificent and am very happy with them but those are the two reasons I’ve marked them down 1 sta
Just got this this morning and I’m over the moon. Well impressed!!!
Have it connected to TV so didn’t use the volume controller as I can use TV remote to control the volume.
Sound quality is excellent, even with bass and volume at max, I found no distortion and it is very loud. Next door won’t be my friend much longer!
A couple of reviews have mentioned a hum from one of the speakers, yes there is a hum but I had to put my ear up against the speaker to hear it, any speaker set I’ve had has hummed anyway.
Speakers look great too in gloss black and I’m glad they have grills to stop little people poking the speaker cones in. Subwoofer looks great but it’s tucked away in a cupboard. Knobs feel really sturdy.
I was quite surprised at how light the box was and prepared myself for a let down. How wrong was I… My best buy of the year. I’d give it 6 stars if I could and highly recommend, especially at the price. Top job Trust.
I got this 2.1 speaker set recently, after i had to send my small 15W bluetooth speaker back to manufacturer for repair, and was missing the freedom of not needing to get up and change music over.
Well I’m glad i did.
These speakers are great and are working faultlessly. Bluetooth range is about 15m depending on whats between the device and the speaker, more than enough for changing over music anywhere in your lounge (unless you live in a mansion).
The bass is astounding and can easily become tooo much if your not careful with the Sub control.
There are 2 volume controls sited on the Sub Woofer, 1 for the sub itself and 1 for the satalite speaker pair.
It also includes a wired volume control (shame it too is not wirless). I have tried this but due to distance I sit away from speaker it wouldnt reach, so I have taken it off and just use the controls sited on the Sub-woofer.
The speaker easly paired with my Andriod 4.4 tablet, just pressing the pair button on the speaker was enough to pair them to my Tablet, and going to settings on tablet and choosing bluetooth brings up a list of all paired devices so you can change to the connection you need at the time.
VOLUME : Wow these are loud, If I turn them up to full it feels like the base wants to knock you back across the room. I have to back these right off, as i live in an appartment and It would have people breaking my door down if played at that level.
BASS : The base is realy good. You get some almost sub-sonic tones out of the bass speaker. I had’nt heard bass like that since my days clubing.
MID RANGE+TREBLE : The satalite pair are nice and clear sounding, letting the vocals and high end come through clearly.
The speakers need some balancing from the 2 volume controls, but once done the sound is awesome.
As with all new speakers you should ‘run them in’ at about half volume before letting lose at full power. This gives the material the cones are made from, time to soften a bit so as to avoid splitting them or ‘blowing’ them. I have read 30-40 playing hours to ‘run in’ speakers.
I would definatly recomend as a replacment system for home stereo, and i think they are loud enough from all but the largest of rooms.
So good, if possibale would like another set to link up.(still trying to iron out the whether posibale to do).
10/10
Edit: Had these for over 3 months now. Use them almost every day as speaker for streaming music from my tablet based library and also have my TV plugged in to the 2 phono inputs for when I put a film on.
Still sounding as good as when first bought.
If anyone knows why this happens feel free to comment.
Other than that, the speakers work well and the audio quality is good for the price considering you’re spending under 100 for a pair of active speakers and a sub (you get what you pay for).
I’d be a little bit cautious with these.
Sub and speakers were slightly bigger than expected when first pulled out the box.
The speakers felt seriously light, as well as cheap but I proceeded to wire them all up and see how they sounded.
I was pretty blown away to be honest and decided to cautiously approach near max volume. I wouldn’t go as far as ‘ Room shaking’ like people here seem to claim, but the bass can obnoxiously be heard throughout the house at all volume levels.
So, first impressions? Great! Un till a rattle started to form which i later diagnosed to come from the left speaker channel. This is why i say be cautious as i managed to get rid of the rattle by adjusting a combination of bass control and gains. Not sure how long these will really last.
Don’t get me wrong. They sound superb (for the price tag). One thing that’s great about these speakers is that they produce a consistent and balanced sound throughout various levels of volume. I’m sitting here now, listening to some London Grammar at relatively low volume and the sub handles it perfectly. In fact, i’d almost say the treble and bass is ‘beautifully balanced’ at low volume. Yet i could stick a drum n bass track on, crank the volume up and yet again the speakers and sub sound perfectly balanced. So for listening at various volumes, 5 stars!
I will say the bass isn’t very sharp. It’s got an ever so slight muddiness to it, and some treble heavy songs sound very unbalanced (i found a lot of liquid drum n bass on these can be pretty unlistenable). They’re definitely well suited to rock, hip-hop and various forms of electronic.
You’ll be forever getting up to adjust the bass, but i’ve given up on that and found a level which vaguely suits most genre’s.
I’ll leave it at this. They do their job. Remember, these are a 50 quid set of PC speakers. When you think about that, they’re bloody superb at the job they’re made to do! I’m very pleased with them, and apart from longevity (which i’m very sceptical about but cannot comment on as of yet as i’ve had them under a week) they perform pretty damn well!
I was replacing my last speakers which were 2.1 speakers and had great bass and sounded brilliant, my expectations were high and I’m pleased to say I wasn’t dissapointed.
Although I have to say I used to have a guitar amp which when about half way up blew the bl@@dy doors off my room and would have my parents (when I was a wee boy) running upstairs to tell me to turn it down, neighbours would complain and it was flumpin LOUD. That was a 100W amp. So having speakers which are meant to be 120W then I assumed this would also be ear shatteringly loud – they aren’t . They’re great for listening to music around the house, they happily take what I term “sing a long at the top of your voice” volume, but no more. They wouldn’t work well as a party speakers if you took them to a large room.
At high volumes the small treble speakers vibrate a little with bass.
But I mention these points only as justification for not giving them 5/5. I would happily buy these again, for the price, my research couldn’t find anything better which was less than 120.
Would recommend .
These speakers are a hidden gem…why? well a variety of reasons.
The positives;
1. The sound quality is incredible, you will hear every detail in the music and feel surrounded by it, to the point where you have to remind yourself this is only a 2.1 setup.
2. The bass response from the tweeters in the speakers and the subwoofer itself is absolutely incredible, this thing has seriously punchy and deep bass, which shakes the floor and penetrates through walls with ease. This will annoy the hell out of your flatmates/neighbours as I have found out myself, so if your into deep house/electronic/drum and bass or any other bassy music you have been warned!
3. They are well built, despite the speakers being plastic and the subwoofer being made from wood I have constantly bumped them with no bad effects.
4. Aesthetically they look slick and the modern design is nice to look at, as is the silver trust badge on the subwoofer.
5. They have one main volume control which can be seen in the picture, which slides clockwise and counter clockwise increasing and decreasing the volume. This feels sturdy and very nice to use and has rubber beneath it so it doesn’t move around on the surface you are using it on. Overall it is very handy for adjusting the volume on the fly, especially when the neighbours are just about to call the police and you need to quickly turn it down.
6. They are versatile thanks to the volume controls on the subwoofer itself which adjust the volume of the bass and the treble volume. Although these speakers can be very well suited to bass heavy songs, for someone who prefers more chilled out music there will be no problem using these, just adjust the bass and treble accordingly.
7. You get way more than you pay for, and I mean way more. I have a friend who recently purchased a set of 2.1 harmann kardon speakers which set him back 140. They looked very cool yes, however when listening to them I honestly could not tell the difference between his and mine, in fact I think these speakers actually edge them slightly in terms of sound quality and bass. Sounds ridiculous I know, but It just goes to show that sometimes you are in fact paying premiums purely for the brand name.
The negatives;
1. The bass can be a bit too overpowering for some songs, this can be adjusted via the bass control on the subwoofer however.
2. One of the speakers had a slight rattle when the volume was turned up. I fixed this by placing a hairband around the speaker which strangely worked and it rattles no more.
Overall;
Amazing speakers for the price, the sound quality is top notch as is the bass, the aesthetics are pleasing to look at and the build quality is fairly rugged. You would be very lucky to find speakers in this price range of a similar quality, I’m not sure they even exist to be honest.
Speakers apparently need “running in” for a few hours in order to get the best response, and my son very kindly did this by blasting everyone with Iron Maiden. He then balanced the bass against the other frequencies to give the best overall effect. I spent a lot of time researching the available 2.0 and 2.1 systems, and this one struck me as potentially the best (without going to silly money). So far, I am delighted with my choice.
Both my partner and I were completely blown away by the quality of this product especially at such a reasonable price (my partner, he is one of those speaker lover types). Obviously we had to test them (like two big kids) to see what the bass was like and whether we would have to advise the neighbours to wear ear buds on Christmas day. We may have “tested” them for a little longer than was completely necessary as they are ace! We managed to nearly vibrate our German Shepherd out of the room whilst “testing” them to the Prodigy.
We highly recommend this product and are now wondering whether we should just buy her an ipod docking station and keep these for ourselves! OK OK she’ll get them. PS she came home yesterday with a friends ‘Beats’ speakers . . ha ha ha these blew them out of the water(she is still wondering why we were laughing . . time will tell little one!)
I have had these speakers for a few months now. I wanted to get a good idea of how the speakers perform over a longer period of time before I write the review. I am extremely pleased with the performance of these speakers. The speakers themselves have a very wide range and have very little distortion even at high volumes (I don’t like listening to anything too loud so to be fair, I may not be the best person to speak to about this). The bass is loud, but it can get a bit muddy when listening to music. They are great for movies as the rumble of the bass really add to the cinematic effect.
I use these speakers a lot, and once in a while, I can’t help but smile when I think about them. As you can imagine, I wasn’t too sure of the quality of Trust as a brand, but this product has made me a believer. I can’t give them enough credit for deciding to make such a quality product at such a low price.
If you’re reading this and are feeling reluctant (due to lack of brand recognition), trust me when I say you will not regret the decision.
Now editing my review after my purchase in may 2013 (after over 5 months).
Still as happy as ever and would gladly recommend to friends. However the price has gone up since then, I bought them at 47.68 postage inc. The price increase is probably due to the high demand, because, well, they’re so good. Anywhere around 55 is standard for these speakers I think I just got a good deal.
Even at the current price 60 I would still say they are worth the money.
So, as for my 5 month review. I have decided to edit my review because there has been a minor fault with the subwoofer that was down to knob that turns the bass up and down having a loose connection. This loose connection caused the subwoofer to emit a crackling noise when, and only when, you turned the bass up and down. After some angry wiggling it sorted itself out but this was covered by the warranty anyway so I am in the process of getting them replaced with Tribal UK who I would recommend highly.
Aside from that slight issue which was most likely my fault, the only other minor issue I found while using them was that if you turn both the volume and the bass up to max, the bass does overcome the volume detracting from songs. But believe me when I tell you you wont be playing music at that volume in your house unless you intentionally want to both seriously annoy your neighbors and destroy your eardrums. Easy way to combat this is to just turn the bass down a little. It should be noted my subwoofer was on my desk, which I suspect may cause the bad results as oppose to the floor where it is meant to go.
Being a casual music listener, I can highly recommend this speaker set. So far they have given me a great 5 months, and hopefully many more to come!
I bought these speakers for my PC, and now it rivals my home cinema system! The bass is so good I can FEEL it through the floor upstairs, while the speakers are downstairs. The Woofer is a lot bigger than I anticipated, but the sound quality is so good I can’t complain. The tops are clear and I can’t find fault with this set. If I have one criticism it’s that when you jack in headphone into the hub controller the volume dial no longer has any effect – you have to do it through the PC. This means you have to be really careful when unplugging the headphones that your speakers aren’t turned up loud. On the plus side is that there are controls on the side of the woofer for volume and bass and on/off switch. This makes them much more accessible so you’re not reaching behind your set-up to change your settings. I love this set. Well worth the money.
The speakers are great and probably the best speakers in this price range, to get anything better you would need to look in the range of 80+. The speakers deliver very crisp and clear audio when listening to music, and the sub is great for when you are playing games and watching movies and want to feel all of those explosions going off, it is very powerful and I never use it on full blast and nor do I recommend that you use them at full blast (unless you wanna annoy the hell out of your neighbors). Overall they are good speakers for the price and also come with a decent warranty from the manufacturer. The only thing that disappointed me slightly was that the power switch is on the sub, so if you have the sub under your desk and the speakers on top of it (behind the monitor etc) it is a little annoying to have to reach down every time to turn them on or off, other then that cannot really fault them.
We had some other speakers at home to try first. I donated my own PC speakers which are still a 2.1 setup but quite small, and the volume had to be turned up to get any bass out of them, and we quickly found that what bass there was was muddy and distorted. So we turned to the internet and found these speakers.
I really can’t praise them enough. You NEED these speakers. They’ve got that weird quality where they output a ton of bass even at low volume, so you can enjoy the full range of sound without breaking your windows and waking up the neighbours. It’s that cinema-style bass as well, the kind where you can only just about hear it but it’s enough gives a suggestion of a deep rumbling to add to the soundscape. I tried it with Blade Runner and I feel like it’s as close as I’ll ever get to watching that film at an actual cinema (unless they ever get around to showing it again).
One thing to note however is that these are not small speakers. The first subwoofer we tried would fit inside our TV cabinet, but this woofer was easily twice the size of that one. The satellites aren’t small either. Take note of the measurements and make sure you’ve got room for them. And then buy them. Because you should.
It also comes with a little desktop remote that’s useless when they’re plugged into a TV because it simply won’t reach. I was able to appropriate it and attach it to my own PC speakers where it is very useful.
In conclusion, these are the best stereo speakers I’ve ever heard. They’re leagues ahead of my PC’s (decent) speakers, and far more sensibly priced than a soundbar. If you’ve got a big enough room, you’re probably also looking for a surround sound system, and I can’t speak for that. But if you’re looking for a set of 2.1 speakers, this is that set, and it is a steal at ~45.
I was looking for some stereo speakers with the added boost of a subwoofer to play my music on a laptop; I was undecided which to choose. I searched the website and came across the Tytan 2.1 Speaker Set by Trust. I read about the product and the customer reviews and decided to purchase them on this basis. I am so pleased that I purchased this speaker set, they are absolutely fantastic, this product is an absolute bargain for the all round quality! Ideal for a small to medium sized room.
The sound from the speakers is crisp and clear, and the subwoofer punches out crisp and clear bass notes – there are no fuzzy sounds what-so-ever, I have tested the system hard with VERY loud music and it is just incredible. You can have your computer desktop volume at 100% and then increase the sound further from the subwoofer and the remote!!
If you want to listen your music with no crackling when the volume is high, this is the system to buy – I love it.
The music coming through these speakers is clear and crisp, the top end is a bit on the bright side for me but I can appreciate the detail. Bass is solid and not overpowering, overall this is a good (but not brilliant) set of speakers for the price.
Now, the reason for four stars rather than five.
There are three main controls on this equipment, excluding the off/on switch, they are a) volume b) bass and c) a rotary knob on the end of a cable that serves as a secondary volume control (although the quick start leaflet claims it controls bass as well but I cannot hear any evidence of this).
The volume, bass and on/off controls are on the right side of the bass speaker, this makes them very awkward to access and use. This requires that you set your volume and bass to your required taste before settling down to work on your PC while listening to your favourite music, etc. The rotary knob gives you adequate, and easily accessible, secondary volume control but you should realise that you cannot turn the volume up higher than the main control setting on the side of the bass speaker.
Now the one great failing, these speakers do not have any treble control which is fine for some music but if you have music with an overpowering high end, to the point of brashness, then you have no way of turning this down.
Start of Update ==== 17/03/2013
I sent an email to Trust asking them about the missing treble, which they confirmed and went on to suggest I use the settings in my sound card.
End of Update ==== 17/03/2013
Overall, a good sounding set of speakers but it falls down on lack of a treble control and awkward placement of main controls. However, if those main controls, plus the missing treble, were placed on a control pad and attached to an extension cable, like the single rotary knob, then this would be a five star product.
Please note, there are also sockets for a pair of headphones and attaching your MP3 player to situated on the base which holds the rotary knob. I have not tested these yet and so cannot say how well they work.
WOW! Out of the box they look fantastic. Simple but striking design that is understated yet stylish. The quality is very high, the plastics solid and the joints tight. The remote is a nice weight, and the volume dial turns very smoothly. Plug them in and the impression does not change. Very powerful and balanced sound. There is plenty of punch across the range, but the sound can also be subtle and quiet when volume is not needed. The bass dial is standard across most speaker systems now, but was lacking on my previous speakers and it really does allow you to fine tune the overall treble / bass balance.
I’m not really an audiophile, but I do like to have clear crisp sound that has depth and clarity. To my ears these speakers have all of those qualities in abundance: to my mind the sound is as good as the 500W home cinema system we have in the living room (just lacks the absurd volume). To sum up, incredibly happy with these speakers and cannot recommend them highly enough. Top marks to Trust.
