This finally fixed my USB PD worries. I have a laptop which can theoretically use 100W USB-PD, but is very picky; only some 100W cables will work and even then with 100W Ugreen or Millipow chargers it would sometimes drop off USB power at high load. I’ve now been using the 140W Ugreen charger for over a week and it seems completely stable, I can now also charge a phone or tablet at the same time without problems. It’s a bit heavier and bulkier than the 100W Ugreen Nexode, bit will still fit easily in a backpack and runs a bit cooler than the 100W model does. Definitely pricey, worth keeping a watch until there’s a discount.
Pros:
It does what it’s supposed to do with proper wattage across the UBS ports as mentioned in the configuration diagram
Cons:
1. At this price range it should have a foldable and detachable plug and with region adapters
2. Only 3 ports. Would be really good if they would have provided 1 more USB A or USB C port
Even with the cons mentioned I have kept it cause it works as mentioned and i like the desig
Bought this to charge my Dell XPS laptop which is not charging using dell chargers. This works well and charges the device. Have multiple output so can be used to charge my phone and headphones at the same time.
This charger is very fast. Charging up my Anker Gan Prime portable charger im seeing speeds up to 140w which is fantastic. 140w is not achieved all the time however, I tend to see speeds hover around 120-130w most of the time but it has ramped to 140w at times. As I write this review the battery is at 0% and will charge to 100% in 50 minutes.
For those interested here are the timestamp, % battery and Watts I was seeing the battery pull from the charger on ONE test
0 mins, 0 %, 113Watts
10mins, 26%, 125Watts
20mins, 51%, 127Watts
30mins, 71%, 127Watts
40mins, 85%, 94Watts
50mins, 100%
The charger itself is big, heavy and hangs out far from the wall and as others have mentioned you cant switch out the UK plug for travel. So for travel it’s a no from me personally and I settle for a much smaller 60w charger and leave this for charging home devices
One issue I do have with the charger is when using it to charge multiple devices simultaneously. There is a renegotiation on the device about how much power to allocate to each port when multiple ports are in use. This negotiation with the devices isn’t as quick as I would like (sometimes) and happens in stages. What this means on Apple devices at least is you will get the chime sound happening numerous times if the device isn’t on silent.
Overall I couldn’t find anything else this fast on the market and this has been an excellent stay at home charger. I think we have to deduct a star for its travel unfriendliness and occasional power negotiation annoyances
Would I buy it again? Yes, I absolutely love the speed for my portable charger which has helped me out a few times to get power into it when I have to leave the house in a hurry
Devices I have used with it.
Macbook air,
Ipad 11
Iphone 11
Steam Deck
Anker 140w portable battery
Dell Laptop
PS5 controllers
Various keyboards
Charges my huge powerbank overnight and when travelling can charge the power bank, my phone and my work laptop. The perfect travel companion.
I bought this charger to have more options when charging my powerbanks and to speed that process up. It turns out that this also charges my Dell XPS15 which is almost 6 years old. It can charge any USB device I’ve tried no matter how big or small. Would recommend but it’s pricey, so perhaps best to buy when on offer.
Added a usbc volt meter and checked that when using the apple MagSafe cable that it could fast charge the m1 MacBook Pro. Measured 135W. Very happy as much smaller and more useful than the single port 140w apple charger.
EDIT: I’ve taken down to 4 stars as when you plug in multiple devices (MacBook + iPad) when the charger negotiates usb-c power between the two devices you hear a lot of ‘dings’ as the power is stopped/started constantly. I’ll often have the MacBook ding around 10 times and dim the screen constantly until it settles.
If you are looking for the best of the best USB to 3-pin adapters, this is a good choice.
It is made by UGREEN which is a brand I use quite a lot and am always impressed with their products. This plug also uses the best technology which is GaN, this is what makes it possible to get so much power in a small brick.
That being said, it is quite big and heavy. This means that it may not be the best for travelling as it is quite cumbersome. But in order to get 140W, you couldn’t really get anything smaller.
140W of charging power is clearly its best feature. It has 2 USB-C ports and a USB-A port which is great allowing you to charge up to 3 devices at once. The adapter can deliver 140W all through a single USB-C port when only using one port, this allows you to charge your device very quickly provided your device can handle that much power.
The main thing that will put people off is the price. It is a lot of money for a USB adapter at 150 when writing. You can obviously get much cheaper alternatives that will charge your device fine, just slower.
Overall though, if you are looking for more power than you are likely to need, this is a great choice.
I’m really surprised how something which is the size of a hand can charge my laptop and other accessories at insane speed of 140W. My normal 88W phone charger is really fat and big and takes quite a lot of space inside my bag and is always scattered everywhere. The fact that not only can it charge up to 140W, I can use the different ports and charge up to a couple of devices at the same time just using this which is INSANE. The price maybe big but it has given me bigger results and a lot more convenient asset to carry around and now I don’t have to carry out chargers and bricks, when I now have this instead. It is very portable and would recommend this definitely.
This is an extremely powerful charging brick.
It has power to charge practically anything in your arsenal.
As it has the GaN technology, it is substantially smaller than any charging brick would be with this power output.
Yes, it is a relatively large plug, but considering its capabilities, it is on the small side.
It obviously not made to charge a single phone but larger devices like a laptop.
All this for a good price.
No complaints here.
This is an impressive charger but at quite a price – 119.99 after voucher. It’s powerful and versatile though, so worth the money if you can afford it.
It works perfectly with my XPS 13 and lets me charge other devices at the same time. Of course, the 140W is shared, if more than one product is plugged in at once. My laptop still gets 65W though. So, in fact, does a second laptop at the same time. The charger doesn’t get excessively hot, even with two laptops charging along with an iPhone through the USB-A port at the same time.
It’s compact, for a 140W charger, although quite heavy at about 500g with the included, braided USB-C cable. A little case for it would have been useful for travel. Talking of travel, it’s a shame the plug can’t be swapped to a Euro or US plug.
The charger arrives nicely boxed and has a real air of quality about it. If you have a suitable high-end laptop and can find the money, don’t hesitate. It would make a good whether for your own use or a rather unexciting gift.
140 watts is a massive output for a USB charger but the price still seemed to be high. Once I opened the Amazon packing I found out why. It started with a really high quality box leading to the anticipation that this was something unusual. If nothing else the weight would give me a clue. Nestling inside was a very heavy and high quality looking charger equipped with one USB and two USB C sockets. Noticeably larger , heavier and better made than any other charger I have collected over the years. If the internals are built to the same standard as the case this is good kit.
I have not put a stop watch on charging but it is happy to take my MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and iPhone 16 Pro all together and hand them back to me fully charged in quick time.
UPDATE
Just found a need to be careful. I used this charger to charge a camera battery and it got VERY hot. No expert but maybe some items are not capable of regulating the large output from this charger.
I’m borderline between 3 and 4 stars for the Ugreen Nexode 140w wall charger. The performance of it is exceptional, no doubt about that. Its capacity far exceeds anything I’ve got that I can throw at it. My iPad Pro 12.9″ was happy getting juiced up on it, certainly. It’s a lovely item to look at and touch, it’s very well made (although not as metallic as you’d first think). But I can’t escape that it’s 150 at the time of testing…which is a lot of money for a wall charger, regardless of how competent it is. Over the last few years I’ve tested a lot of wall chargers, and this is by far the best one I’ve used. But, it’s also nearly twice as expensive as the next most expensive one I’ve got. And, the one that I use most often, is a third of the price. Okay, it’s not got 140w of capacity, but it satisfies the requirements of the devices I use it for.
Where it’s really going to come into own is a travelling power supply. If you’ve got a high end laptop/MacBook, a tablet and a smart phone that you demand reliable charging for, the Ugreen is perfect. And, most likely, the cost of it wouldn’t be quite such an eye watering amount to you.
This isn’t my first Ugreen product. I also have the Nexode 200w 6 port charging port, and I love that thing to bits. We use it when we go away as we fill the six ports with 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and 2 Apple Watches and it’s compact and reliable. It’s also another 50 more, but for my application that extra 50 is worth it. The wallplug version, while brilliant, doesn’t suit my particular application.
If, however, it’s ticking boxes for you, I have no hesitation recommending the Ugreen Nexode 140w.
———-Unboxing———-
Packaging for this was simple, no unnecessary extra cardboard and everything inside was packaged well and securely. Everything on the cover tells you everything you need to know and was (as far as packaging goes) really nice. Comes in its own branded box and the pictures look good and eye-catching. Inside was:
1 x UGREEN Nexode 140W USB C Charger
1 x Braided USB C lead
———-Product———-
I don’t have any apple products but do have multiple phones, laptops and power banks etc I have to use for work and find I am constantly switching things between plugs to keep batteries alive etc. First impressions when opening this product was that it was a little smaller than I had envisioned in my head but also pleasantly surprised at the same time as I was expecting something massive and bulky but that wasn’t the case. The design of the black and grey is simple yet nice and the fact it can with a braided USB C cable was a nice extra.
I used this to charge my phone and 2 laptops at the same time and it had no struggle keeping up with the demand of power in the slightest. I switched it over to my tablet and 2 laptops and again powered through no problem and then decided to call my friend to bring has MacBook round and test it with 2 laptops and his MacBook well. I was blown away that it was charging all 3 with no problems. No signs of overheating. No power drops. Utterly outstanding!
That being said its an amazing piece of kit if you have the spare cash to invest in one as it’s a big ask for effectively a charger. (149.00 at time of review)
.———-Good points———-
Great amount of power
Comes with braided USB C Lead
Very Fast Charging
Reduces the number of plugs being used
Constant 140w power supply
Doesn’t seem to overheat or struggle
Multiple device fast charging
———-Bad Points———-
Very expensive
Very high quality charger. Comes in really fancy packaging. The fact that it can change 2 laptops and a phone all at the same time is great and handy.
It isn’t too large nor too small which is perfect for those on the go.
I would definitely recommend.
This charger is absolute huge and an absolute monster of a plug, with 2x Usb C ports and 1x USB port – Ideal to charge multiple devices in the one go, Personally I find the price over the top and would never pay that for a charger but someone who wants to charge 2 MacBooks at the same time then this plug has the capabilities to do so and I’m sure might be value for money for some people and if money isn’t an issue – Not for me though.
I don’t use a MacBook, but my friend does – and having the chance to test this out, she absolutely loved it. For one thing, it streamlines charging several devices at once. With this, you can charge three laptops, phones, etc. from just one hub – and with 140w, you can bet it’ll do it quickly, too. My friend said this definitely charged her MacBook to full in nearly half the time compared to her usual charger. It’s heavy, this thing, sure, but it needs to be – and there’s a reassurance to the weight. You can tell that this is really high-quality, and that’s reflected in how quick and how convenient it is. Plug it straight into a socket, and away you go. I also didn’t notice any kind of overheating – it wasn’t even warm to the touch when I had three devices plugged in. It’s just stellar when it comes to home/office convenience.
This charger is ideal for travelling.
Compact but with enough power for your laptop, phone and accessories.
It works really well with my personal Acer laptop, my work Dell, and my phones and earbuds.
It’s fairly heavy, but it does pack a decent punch for that weight.
It’s not cheap, but I think it’s well worth the money!
I was looking for a powerful USB C charger that could deliver 140w for my laptop but also charge an iPad and phone without needed 3 different power bricks. This replaces the old style 12v charger for my laptop which is much smaller but still carries a bit of weight compared to lower powered usb chargers.
It can deliver 140w on one, 100w on the other plus a fast usb A socket too. I don’t believe this fast chargers all three devices at their max speed but does a very good job at balancing the power so I don’t notice. It still seems to fast charge everything and all in one handy package.
It also includes a cable which works perfectly and is a nice quality, it isn’t as thick as some of the usb cables I have used recently but is more portable and appears to work just the same.
Overall I wouldn’t save this is a value for money item but it is extremely convenient and the only one I have found to consistently deliver 140w.
Wow! This is a great bit of kit. It looks good and feels solid and well-made. Although it’s smaller and neater than I expected, it does have a certain heaviness to it and a feeling of quality. The charging speed is seriously impressive, with no heat issues whatsoever. The ports are for one USB-A and two USB-Cs and it will automatically adjust the power input for each device. It will happily charge one laptop, one tablet and one phone, all at the same time and very quickly indeed. There’s no doubt that it is really good.
At the time of writing this review, the cost is 149.00, which is an eye-watering amount of money for a multi-charger, and one that I personally would find hard to justify, but if you’re in an environment where time is money and you need your charged devices like yesterday, it could be worth it to you.
This is a solid bit of kit. Charging is really good! Charged my Mac Pro quickly and I put my iPhone on charge as I worked and it was charged so quickly. No heat issues from phone or the charger. It feels real quality. It’s not light but feels really well made. It’s not cheap but with the usb b and c it gives you everything and works out good overall value. I now use this one charger to do all I need. Really good!
