Purchased these with Amazon vouchers given with retirement gift from work I haven’t had a full canteen of cutlery since we married over 40 years ago and although we haven’t used them yet ( waiting for Christmas) the delivery and packaging was excellent/early and the look of them is lovely Very pleased with the purchase. Thank you
I bought two sets to mostly replace all cutlery I previously had. Most were obviously bought from Ikea, so here are my thoughts:
– I love the weight, it does not only add to the premium feel but is actually more comfortable to eat with
– These do not scratch easily. They are dropped into a dishwasher with the rest of cutlery and in 2+ months of use shine as if they are brand new with no visible scratches
– They do not creak on plates. Inexpensive Ikea forks creak on some plates which is very annoying. These do not.
– They look nice and do not have any sharp edges.
I would definitely recommend going for a set (or two) of these. Some might use them for the times guests come in but we decided to switch to these for all meals. They just make your average meal feel a bit more special!
I love my new cutlery set, my previous set was also a Viners and was received as a wedding gift, but after years and years of daily use it was time to update. And it again doesn’t disappoint, it’s beautiful and elegant.
Nice set but not sure why they are so much more expensive than the rest of the range. Also some of the knives seem not completely straight. I do like them tho, the spoons especially.
Very pleased with this canteen of cutlery. Good solid wooden (plastic coated) box and the cutlery is really good quality and a sensible weight – not too heavy or feather-light. Each piece was in its own plastic wrap and, once unwrapped, fitted snuggly into their individual spaces in the canteen. Seller was Commerce Intelligence Ltd, fulfilled by Amazon.
Beautiful cutlery. Classic yet modern style. Highly polished, washes very well in dishwasher. Well balanced, comfortable in the hand & the mouth. Knives serated on one side of the blade & cut well.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m very pleased. Cutlery is lighter than I was expecting from the description but really well balanced. I love the shape of the cutlery, especially the soup spoons. The box wasn’t as pictured though and definitely wasn’t a keeper box!
It’s very nice cutlery and it was all there although it had fallen out of its slots in the flimsy cardboard box. Each piece was in a little polythene sheath so none of it was scratched. Not in posh canteen as shown, but that did not bother me.
Good quality cutlery. My only issue is the shape of the spoons. Not a traditional teaspoon or dessert spoon shape ….. my husband is not keen. The cutlery has a good weight & is good in the hand. It just comes down to if you like a more traditional spoon shape I think.
Was looking for a new cutlery set but couldn’t find anything I liked in the High Street. Ordered these by mistake whilst browsing (‘window’ shopping whilst sleepy NOT a good idea!) so when I realised the next day what I’d done, I though let’s just see what they look like when they come.
Really impressed, so much so I’ve also bought the bigger 44 piece set. Cutlery feels nice and has a good weight to them. I love the shape of the teaspoons too.
Exactly as described on the website. Very pleased with my purchase. It was a wedding present and as such, unseen by me but I was told about it by the bride. The couple were highly delighted with the gift.
The product itself is great and the cutlery is really good. However the box that it came in was scratched, it definitely could not be used as a display box. As mine will go in a drawer this not really a problem
Bought this set to replace the mismatched, ancient cutlery we were using. It arrived promptly with plenty of warning of when to expect it.
All the pieces feel smooth and balanced in the hand and are a lovely sleek shape. The only minor niggle I may have had was the quite strong, slightly chemical smell emanating from the case when it was first opened. I presume this was from the manufacturing process and it is fading. That said, the case is neat and smooth and I am using it rather than put the cutlery in the draw to maybe get scratched. So far absolutely no problems with putting them in the dishwasher, everything has come out still sparkling.
By the way I don’t use dishwasher salt in my machine as I am in soft water area and the manufactures instructions say it is not required. Could using salt if it’s not needed be causing rust spots?
A very nice high quality cutlery set. THe items are a good size and look the part on the dining table.
they are well presented in the box. I use these every day (I buy to use rather than bbring out once in a blue moon). And I enjoy using them.
I was so pleased with this set, I hadnt realised that it would have soup spoons so that was a bonus. I have used them for a while now and they are always put in the dishwasher and they come out looking great. My mum has had a viners set of cutlery since she got married in the 70’s so I hope that my set will last as long!
my son who has autism and OCD wont let me take anything out of the box, an empty space to him is unecceptable
Quality cutlery. Just bought a second set for use in my Motorhome
