Excellent piece of equipment. Does exactly what advertised. Easy to use, light weight even for an elderly female to use. Delivery excellent as always
Good value, price and quality very light for me to use
I doubt whether you will find a lighter hedge cutter, and it works exceedingly well. However, if you have anything other than a small hedge you will need to but a second battery.
Shaped large Holly bush, easy to use and lightweight

Pleased with this hedge cutter, battery was soon ready and gave a good cut to my bushes
Light weight easy to use good safety features ,box it came in was massive .
Cuts well, easy to maintain and extremely light!
I think a drawback for the potentially more clumsy people like me is there are two triggers to operate the trimmer – some other brands have an added switch which would be safer in my opinion.
But would highly recommend to anyone!
Seems ok.Had my other one stolen from my garage.Left batteries behind so at least I have 2 batteries.Havent had chance to use it due to weather.
his cutter works well and is not to heavy. It cuts through quite thick hedges without much trouble and the battery last a good time
Not yet used the VonHaus cordless hedge trimmer longer than a quick trial. What has impressed me is how light and easy to use this trimmer is. Being cordless unlike my wornout old Black & Decker 240v corded one this is far more manoeuvrable.
Quality cutter at an amazing price. Very lightweight and easy to manouvre. Only downside is that the battery should be larger. It’s very small and only lasts for about 30 minutes continuous use. Although it charges quickly!
Being cordless its very easy to manoeuvre great for doing small to medium hedges with it being lightweight it definitely is easier to cut not very powerful the battery lasted around 35 minutes on an hour charge I would recommend this product if you don’t want the hassle of cords
Wasn’t sure on this one due to price. Wrong. Extremely well made and flies through the hedge in minutes. I now just give it a 15minute tidy up twice per week because it’s so light weight. It’s never run out of power and a doddle to charge. Definitely my best purchase by far.
As it is winter not had chance to try this product out as yet. Charged it up and it works. Looks good. Has a long cutting blade which is great. Delivery speedy. Price good.
Well designed I especially like that the batteries on VonHaus products all re hare in the same simple way. This is a lightweight product for small hedges. It does not cut through any large branches, nor should it.
Have spend years battling hedges with shears and cheapish corded trimmer plus have to pay once a year to get back into control!
Did lots of research into best buys etc (not on Amazon) and opted for this and good choice it seems.
Goes thru like knife through butter, very manouevrable (though some reviews thought it a tad awkward at time I did not find this. ) Easy and safe to operate and quite light (I have arthritis) Cuts well and clean. Battery lasted 45 mins and still charged – I only stopped as the smaller hedge used to take me hours over two days only took took 45 mins today!!!
Think I may invest in the long pole version as well!
Could not be happier, very lightweight, fantastic run time, makes easy work of everything I’ve thrown at it, I’m amazed at the size of some of the branches I’ve managed to ‘chew’ through, what more can I say I’d most certainly buy it again.Too early to report on it reliability but it does look robustly made.
I have a Von Haus grass strimmer as well bought he two together so I could have effectively 2 batteries if needed for long run times of each machine ..sadly grass trimmer (blades) does not allow me to heap the same praise on it.
Just starting up a small gardening business after being made redundant. I bought these with very low expectations but I needn’t have worried, very lightweight and so easy to use used on and off doing a 10 foot privet and a few shrubs and still didn’t run out of battery. The build quality also seems very good.
Edit: 9 months on and these are still going strong and haven’t let us down once, we will be buying another one as our business is going really well and we are inundated with jobs for hedge cutting!
I have a small garden so didn’t want to spend money in a petrol one, and the cord drives me nuts on a corded one. This little beauty has been fantastic.
It’s light weight and a dream to use. As long as the battery is removed after use, the blades are lubricated before use (I use wd40) and then dried and cleaned after use, there’s no reason this shouldn’t last. Am now considering their strimmer!
Great product, previously had a flymo hedge trimmer. Vanhaus trimmer is so easy to use, lightweight, no leads, no vibration, a great deal quieter to the trimmer I had prior, with the safety cover being far sturdier, not sliding off when not in use or being moved.
As for customer service. Again, top mark’s, quick delivery, first class in dealing with issues, so easy to approach. I will be back as I now need a cordless chainsaw.
Thank you for everything.
Be safe out there:-)
good length of blades very lightweight good safety features good price look forward to trying it out.
advertised as having a 3year warranty. attempts at registering for warranty proved impossible on line . I believe this to be a con. Very disappointed with the company advertising.
My wife bought this for herself to use and is completely delighted. The instructions were clear and simple. The battery was fully charged on arrival, stayed charged for the time specified and recharges quickly. It’s really lightweight which was her main criterion and as it’s cordless is easier and safer to use than corded machines. She loves it. The good news is that she’s filled the garden wheelie bin already. The bad news is that it was only emptied yesterday and she’s keen to get back out there with her new toy. This thing is great and with a 2 year warrantee, you can’t go wrong. Highly recommended.
I was a bit dubious as to whether this hedge cutter will be suitable for me. I need not have worried it is light enough and its not too long so it is easy to move around. It is certainly worth the cost no complaints in that department. My only concern is when I switch it on The handle in front of the guard is fine, its the one underneath the handle. It does not always fire up I have to try again and move my grip up and down. Whether there is a fault or whether it’s just technic I will have to wait and see. That is why I have given a four and not a five.
Recently , I had a senior moment and cut clean through a hedge trimmer cable . As it was the first time ever and took me twelve years, I don’t feel too ashamed. A friend insisted that I buy a cordless trimmer , which made a lot of sense to me. She said that years ago , cordless trimmers were rubbish but they were now much improved. Reading about this one on the Amazon website, it seemed to tick all the boxes. It was incredibly easy to set up and charges very quickly . It is very light and easy to manoeuvre and it is such a blessing not to have to worry about a cable, to either cut or trip over. Another bonus is that I can lock the front door whilst using the trimmer, instead of having to leave it open for the cable. The hedge in my garden is 50ft long, so this trimmer is a godsend. It is even better than I thought it would be. There is no way I would ever revert back to a corded trimmer, when a cordless is so much safer. Minimum of maintenance is needed ; just clean and give it a drop of oil after use. Common sense mostly. Almost forgot to add that it an absolute bargain for the price it is. Anyway, so far , so good
In fact I am beyond delighted – I am ecstatic !
Most of my gardening friends said ‘don’t do it – don’t buy cordless’ – but I am so glad that I did. This trimmer was delivered on Tuesday – but it has been raining ever since – so today was the first time I was able to try it out. The battery arrived fully charged and has very clear indicators to show how much charge there is. The instruction manual is clearly written – no incomprehensible jargon. I slotted the battery into the handle and went off to attack the Privet hedge. I could not believe how easily this trimmer dealt with it – like a hot knife through butter! Went completely power mad then and attacked the Snowball bush, the straggly Spirea, the Honeysuckle hedge, and an overgrown Summer Jasmin. – then it began to rain – so I cleaned and oiled it, and gave it pride of place in the garage. Checked the charge indicator – all that work – which took an hour and a quarter – had only used one third of the charge! I call that brilliant.
Decided to try this after being fed up of cutting through the wire on my previous trimmer. It charged up quickly (although it arrived almost fully charged anyway) and I used it for 20 minutes without any apparent loss of power. It is lightweight and I had no problems using it for 20 minutes (I am a lady) Cut the hedge with ease in half the time it used to take me with a corded trimmer. I wasn’t sure if it would lack power with it running on a battery but it works just the same as my old corded one. The battery is simple to install and remove. Very happy and the price is good value.
Im pleased to say this hedge trimmer works like a treat, I used to have black and decker one with the cord but my mum cut through the cord when using it, thank God for circuit breakers. Anyway after that we decided to opt for cordless and we choose this one. It’s easy to set up and the battery only needs to be charged for 70 mins and this hedge trimmer is very quiet compared to ones with cords.
I ordered this trimmer for my wife who has cut through the cord of the old one more times than I can remember! I didn’t expect much, to be honest, when I charged it up and gave it to her but she reported back and said that the trimmer is much, much lighter than her old one but sadly, there’s no cable to make things ‘interesting’. The cutting power is very slightly down on the old one but I’m not sure about that as she seems to be trimming all the same bushes just as quickly as the old one. It’s actually much quieter than the old one and maybe this makes it seem not as powerful.
Anyway, I no longer have to stand by the fuse box waiting for the power to blow so that’s a big improvement!
Highly recommended!
Fed up with trailing power leads across the hedge only to cut through them and spend 20 minutes with choc block and tape I decided to invest in a cordless hedge trimmer. I’m very glad I did.
This is so much lighter than my corded hedge trimmer and still almost as powerful. It does struggle on the really thick stuff, but for trimming summer growth back it’s more than adequate.
I also got the spare battery, but have yet to need it as the battery has lasted over 40 minutes and I’m able to do a large hedge, several bushes and still have some power left.
Time will tell how long the battery keeps this level of performance, but after a few months of use it has proved to be a real time saver.
I so wish I’d bought this years ago! We’ve been labouring with shears to cut topiary shrubs in our garden for ages – and that is seriously hard work. These arrived today and within 15 minutes I’d achieved what would normally take half a day! Just brilliant – easy to use, cuts through branches like butter… completely changed my opinion of battery power tools.
Only thing to point out (obvious): clean the blades after use and dry them to stop them rusting; store it somewhere dry (NOT your garden shed – too damp); and keep it stored well out of the reach of children. This could do serious damage in the wrong hands,
But – brilliant. Absolutely love it!
I’m really impressed with this lightweight, cordless hedge trimmer from VonHaus. My parents have a half acre garden bounded by hedges, and Dad’s beginning to struggle with his Stihl petrol hedge cutter. I ordered this in the face of opposition: Dad simply didn’t believe that a cordless hedge trimmer would be powerful enough to cope with mature hedges.
It is. It now only is, but does so easily. I had no problems with privet, hawthorn or the occasional bramble. It’s very lightweight and easy to manage, and my arms don’t get tired when using it. The VonHaus cordless hedge trimmer arrived directly from the manufacturers, pre-charged and ready to use. I was able to get halfway round my parents garden before needing to recharge this, so (after recharging) I’d finished the whole thing in a couple of hours. Brilliant, wish I’d bought it sooner.
Must say I’m impressed so far with this keenly-priced alternative to my Bosch equivalent which was hopeless at retaining battery charge and soon had the batteries and/or charger packing in. Came with an extra li-on battery at modest, discounted, cost and after a couple of light trimmings of my conifer hedge, I like it a lot. It holds the battery charge well, runs for about an hour of working, including pauses to move sheeting to catch the trimmings etc – probably about 30 mins actual running time. Battery re-charged about while using the spare and I feel happy that in normal working, with an occasional rest-break/cup of tea etc, would allow virtually continous work. It’s comparatively light and easy to use and seems powerful enough for normal hedge cutting. My only reservation as usual with obscure Chinese-made goods is longer-term reliability and availability of spare parts. Probably academic as my Bosch lasted no time and replacement batteries etc. although available are too expensive to bother with.
I am really surprised by this hedge cutter. It arrived promptly and within an hour, the battery was charged and I was putting the cutter to use. I trimmed around 12 inches growth from the top of a 30 foot long beech hedge and both sides in around 20 minutes, with 1/3 battery remaining. These hedge cutters do a good job, yes, they struggle with growth thicker than around 1.5 cm, but this is hardly surprising, but are very efficient and quick at clearing softer growth. As efficient as a cheap petrol trimmer, if not better, and, most importantly, these cutters are light. What a difference it makes. Using a petrol cutter made the job a nightmare. Using these is a breeze. I’m really happy with my purchase, and got a small discount on a spare battery I bought (although this has not yet arrived). I would happily recommend these cutters to anyone. Great value.
This trimmer arrived fully charged so I had no excuse not to use it right away. Very good design and well balanced at the central handle, it’s very easy to use although it takes a while to coordinate the 3 switches necessary to fire it up. I’ve just (August) trimmed the hedge for the second time this year so there was about 7 or 8 inches growth. The hedge is 20 metres long by 1 1/2 metres high and I’ve trimmed the vertical and the top, all on the one charge. Next time I’ll do half and have a rest as although quite light to carry, it gets to feel heavier with prolonged use. This is so much better than the corded trimmer I had before.
It was delivered early and safely packed, looks neat and compact, was charged, ready to use; nice!!
A friend, who did part of a tallish conifer hedge for me, said that it cuts really easily and quickly, seems uncomplicated and, yes, it is a good hedge trimmer, with no electric cables in the way, what’s not to like.
As a women, I am able to use it, as it is not too heavy and very easy to handle
If you need a hedge trimmer, I would recommend this one, you can use it with confidence.
It depends on your needs: For the amount of hedge I have to keep in order, I could have done with something a bit more “heavy duty” and with a longer blade. Such beasts are available…….but they are relatively heavy. Personally, I wouldn’t want anything much heavier than the VonHaus but if you are younger and fitter than me and have a lot of hedges, perhaps go for something more powerful.
The VonHaus scores well on safety and ease of operation and is so much more convenient than a cabled trimmer……so I’m pleased with it.
Charging the battery takes about an hour which gives you about 30-40 minutes cutting time….which is enough for me these days when reaching up to cut a high hedge. !
Despite the name, it’s made in Korea…..not Germany!
