Great lockbox which works exactly as described, looks as good as described, and is durable enough that it’ll be used many times over again. Very easy to recommend.

The item is ideal. I was surprised that it has to be set up with a smart phone and there was no default password, a lot of smart functions beyond what we need them for, amazing for the price really. The door magnets are very (perhaps too) strong and you need two hands to open the door, one to hold the box, the other to pull the door. It’s almost as if it’s locked even when it’s not, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The key isn’t a smooth fit so it can only be used in an emergency instead of as a default option. Also, the keyed lock is on the left side of the unit which means the unit can’t be recessed or installed too close to a wall, or against a door jamb.
The app was used once to install it and now sits idle on the owner’s phone. I have no idea how we will be able to reset the unit when the owner has a newer phone, but we shall worry about that later.

I use this to let the adult members of the family visiting me get to a spare door key in case they need to go out and come back in when I am not going to be back before they are.

This allows me to give them access to it rather than just leaving it around in case one of their kids picks it up

I think this would let rain in if left outside so I just use it inside

The product is relatively heavy, but the construction is reasonably good and sturdy. The setup was easy, and connecting with an app on IOS also worked well. Conveniently, you don’t need the internet to operate this key box! it operates via blue tooth. The three-way unlocks method (app, passcode or key) works well.

The only thing I don’t like about it is that the battery compartment is located at the front, which means people can easily mess with it. But that’s not a big deal–the box is still pretty sturdy and should hold up well over time.

I hope this review helps you to make a purchasing decision.

This key lock is quite weighty for its size and is very sturdy with a modern looking design.
It’s very easy to setup by following the clear basic instructions included and offers good security for keys or similarly small sized items.
There are 3 ways to open the lock, through the app, passcode or keys which is ideal if you misplace the keys like I’ve already done.
Personally if placing outside I would suggest maybe putting the key lock under some kind of shelter as some water might come in from the rear of the unit.
I’m quite surprised no batteries or grommet was included with the key lock however it’s not a deal breaker and I’m still happy with the item as I have plenty of rechargeable batteries and the lock is being used in a campervan so for me the added security is excellent and gives you some extra peace of mind.

Solidly built, modern and easy to operate.

This is a really clever and interesting key safe that adds additional and modern layers of security to the more traditional type of key safe boxes. Previously we have always used the standard pin code type key safe to store a spare key to the house outside in our garden. Over the years we have discreetly placed these types of lock box in hidden and hard to see locations that enabled either us, or someone we trust, to be able to access our house in case of an emergency. This new and updated design takes that level of security and peace of mind even further. Let me explain why

Much like a traditional key safe, this lock box has been incredibly well made. It features a 1mm thick steel plate with a double layered design. It both looks and feels rock solid and I certainly wouldn’t want to try to gain unauthorised access to it as it would clearly be difficult to get into without the use of some serious power tools, a shed load of time and a lot of effort. Yes, as with all key safes, of course someone determined enough could get in but certainly not without taking a fair bit of time and making one hell of a racket trying to do so. These things are purely meant to add an additional layer of deterrent to any would be burglar or opportunist. If someone is t determined to gain access to your house, key safe or not they will. I still believe these lock boxes are much more secure than leaving a spare key hidden under a rock, doormat or plant pot etc.

Where this little beauty differs from the rest is within its added use of digital passcode encryption. It employs the same technology that your bank or building society uses whereby it generates a secure OTP (One time passcode) that is sent to your device, such as a mobile phone or tablet. As the owner of the lockbox you can then remotely authorise access to this device. It’s clever too in that as well as using OTP technology you can also choose to set a permanent code for friends and family or alternatively a time limited access code. It’s simply brilliant! I know exactly who requires access, when and why. It’s a completely wireless unit and operates off 2x AA batteries which are not included. Don’t be worried about not being able to gain access should your battery drain out as you are also provided a back up key to unlock this box – just don’t lose this key lol! Of course you don’t need to use it for house keys, it can be used for all sorts of smaller items you wish to limit access to and/or keep secure. Maybe your car keys overnight, a garage key, credit cards etc.

As I mentioned earlier, the box has a 1mm steel plate and the frame thickness is 10mm. It weighs just over 2lbs and it has a copper emergency key lock. The manufacturers claim is will take a determined thief over 20 minutes to get into their product using violent force. I am not personally planning on testing their claims out but given how sturdy and robust this safe appears to have been made I have absolutely no reason to doubt this. To get all this functionality to work though you will need a smartphone and the download of an app called ‘wehere’. The app is ok, not as slick or polished as it could be but it serves its purpose. I am using the iOS version but there is an Android equivalent which I should imagine would be laid out in a similar fashion. You control access to your key box via the app and it can be set to open one of three ways:

Option 1 – Permanent Passcode. This is a fixed code option and you can set multiple different codes up for each user. This option is best for family members and trusted friends as it allows you to see who has accessed the safe at any given time. It does this by way of sending a push notifications to your smartphone. Clever.

Option 2 – OTP (One Time Passcode). As previously mentioned, this option generates a dedicated one time use code that is also time sensitive and expires within around a minute of sending. It’s an incredibly good way of securing access and ensuring only the person you share the code with can access your key box.

Option 3 – Temporary Passcode. You can set a specific time frame for how long a person has access to the safe box using the code you provide. If you know for example, someone may pop in to water your plants whilst you are away you set a window of a few hours where they can access the safe. I think this option is probably better used for holiday home let’s and rentals rather than for a main home installation. I personally won’t need or am likely to use this feature but it definitely useful to have included.

Overall I am really rather impressed with this secure key box. It’s has better security features over a more traditional box and although you will be paying a premium for that functionality, it’s worth the added cost in my opinion. Installation is easy and quick and I really can’t find anything to fault or dislike about this. If I were to have any criticism I would offer that the App could use a little refinement but otherwise it’s all good. A great product and one I am more than happy to recommend. Brilliant!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve wanted to get a key safe for a long time. It seems a sensible investment for multiple reasons, and this one has more than met my expectations.

On unboxing, the substantial weight (1.2kg) immediately inspired confidence. It arrives in separate pieces and needed to be assembled, but that’s what son-in-laws are handy for. Scanning the QR code gives a helpful video, so it was actually easier than we initially thought. Each component part looks robust and the completed box secure.

Son-in-law was also helpful in attaching it to the wall. The box can be operated by the WeHere app (available on Android and Apple), but I’ve chosen not to use this, as I’m happy to select a set passcode to share with immediate family. for ourselves should we get locked out. The keypad is easy to use if needed, but it also comes with 2 keys.

There is the option to use the app to set one time codes, if you need to give access for workmen/caregivers, with a notification to your phone.

Note that the box requires 2 x AA batteries, which are not included.

All in all, an excellent product and one I would highly recommend.

Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

he box is fairly good, the lock is not the most secure but will stop most people gaining non-destructive access,

the box itself has no weatherproofing at all so indoor use only and the app while functional is not the best.

depending on usecase i can see this product being exactly what someone wants or someone buying it and discovering its almost useless to them.

if you need a small indoor lock box to give a number of people access to it but keep it secure from general public then this may be perfect for you

We have been locked out a couple of times due to an unfriendly gust of wind. We had to rely on neighbours for safe harbour until the other half got home.

Tired of this imposition ( and we don’t really want to leave spare keys with them, long story) we decided to give this a go.

The box itself is sturdy and the secutity features are really good. But the app you use to operate it is clunky and clearly needs more work.

It obviously requires a little installation on the outside wall but this was not too arduous.

In general though this provides peace of mind that should we get locked out again we can quickly and safely access a spare key.

The box itself is heavy and robust and I think the price you pay for this overall is fair.

The locker came nicely presented. It’s high quality made and durable. Has a lovely design.

The locker is easy to put together and set up.
The locker requires 2 x AA batteries

I like this locker because it has 3 ways you can unlock it. 1) via the app 2) keys 3) passcode.

You also have the option to allow other to get into the Locker. So makes it excellent for workplaces or any other places where multiple people need access.

I highly recommend this locker it’s definitely value for money.

WeHere Key Lock Box use Bluetooth/One-Time Password/Fixed Code Unlock, Electronic Lock Box for House Key, Wall Mount Hide a Key Box,App Generate Code without internet, ideal for Realtor,House Rental.

This key safe is very impressive and ideal if you rent your house such as AirBnB or have guests who need access to your property etc.

The safe is very good quality, thick and feels very secure. The safe can be opened by two ways, key code or a manual emergency key.

The key code has three options:
    1) Permanent Passcode – This is a permanent code option and you can have multiple permanent codes. What’s very useful about this is that you can see who has accessed the safe by notifications. That means you can see which person who has that specific permanent code has accessed they safe and when.

    2) OTP (One Time Passcode) – This option gives a code to use for a certain amount of time usually a minute before a new code is generated. A very secure way of sending a passcode.

    3) Temporary Passcode – You can set a specific time frame for how long a person has access to the safe box. Great for rentals who are staying for a specific period.

The safe box is controlled by the WeHere app that you download and you can control the safe via Bluetooth. I found the app was well done, easy to navigate and figure out. The instructions were good and quick to set up.

Overall I am very impressed by this safe box and I think it’s a well designed product. For the security and convenience this provides I think this is very good value and I highly recommend this produc

This box is a nice size, for keys anyway, being about105mm wide, 185mm long and 45mm deep with the front section opening like a door. It’s made of a light, thin, yet well made metal casing with the door sitting on two hinges, top and bottom.
You do have to screw the front section to the main body using the screws provided. Tighten the screws up as tight as possible to make sure there’s no gap between the two sections.
This can be unlocked by three methods,
    (1) using a one-time pass code which is sent to you through the app, (WeHere) Press in the code and press ok. If correct a bleep emits and the knob can be turned.
    (2) Connecting via bluetooth then, using the app, you simply press the button on your phone and the lock bleeps. You then turn the knob.
Also on the app you can tell when someone has requested a code, registering each attempt.
It runs on 2 AA batteries, slotted into the casing on the front, above the keypad. The batteries can last for quite some time, depending in usage. And don’t panic about unlocking this if the batteries go flat as this can be unlocked using the key provided. The keyhole sitting on the side of the box. (2 keys supplied)
The box is made of metal, albeit pretty thin metal, but, once attached to the wall via screws (supplied) it should delay a determined thief long enough for them to become bored of trying to break into it, leaving them frustrated and then heading back off home to mummies house where they retire to the basement they climbed from.
Anyway, if you don’t want to screw this too the wall, (which is safest) you can use the horseshoe metal which comes in the box and hang this over a doorknob.
Although this claims to be a key lock box you can put more than keys in it. I’ve got a few memory sticks inside mine so that I know where they are, and they are safe. But if you just want to store keys then that’s your choice.
In all, a nice little security box which will keep you (small) things safe and away from prying eyes and the fact that there’s not 1 single combination makes this harder to open without damaging it with a hammer and chisel.
But is it worth the 76.99 (at time of writing)
Yes, I think it’s money well spent if you need a simple to use, hard to crack little safe type unit to store and protect you key (and things)

Lock away those small things with ease ... and your keys too, if you wa

On receiving the smart box, the first thing I noticed was how heavy the box is over 2lbs. A good reassuring feeling when you expect a lock box that should withstand some abuse and even tampering with. It also comes with a sealing label than indicated it has not been opened since manufacture packing.

The Smartbox is well constructed of what looks like diecast metal. However, there is a hole at the back that potentially could allow rainwater to get in. I did not find an included grommet for this and had to use my own.

The smart lock box is operated via the “Wehere” app, available on Android and Apple app. store. I note that the reviews on Android are not that favourable, mainly complaining that the connectivity was poor and badly designed software.

Well, there is nothing pretty about the software pages. It’s all very utilitarian, but functional. Basically, it allows you to operate the Smartbox via BlueTooth (no internet access required). The thing I really liked about this is that I can send one-time passcodes to one or multiple people and they can access the keys in the box.

This is super ideal for Guest houses, Air B&B etc, as you can instruct the visitor to access the box once to get the keys, then ask them to place them back in the box on leaving the premises. The box cannot be opened with their password again, thus offering better security.

    Things I did not like:
1- The lack of a weather grommet at the back to stop water from getting in.
2- The battery compartment is accessible from the front of the unit (can be tampered with.)
3- The app is a bit clumbsy and seems to be an afterthought.
    4- No AA batteries included.

    Good points:
    1- Heavyweight cast design body
2- good tactile keyboard and easy to use in bright sunlight.
3- Good selection of one-time users and also repeated user codes
4- manual access via my own security key.
5- Can be permanently fixed or used as lockable hasp.
6- Bluetooth is only required to open and control the box.

Pricewise, it sits somewhere in the middle to a high level of competition. I think the biggest downside is the app features and this is so often the weak part of these devices, plus you never know what the app is like until you buy and connect the device. However, the main features do appear to work well, but there is nothing outstanding about the app design and interface.

What I like most about this key lock is the ability to use a one time key code generated on the app. It’s a secure method of ensuring no one can copy or reuse a code.

I also like that you can share this with family. Using this for my Mam’s house keys means I have access and also my brother or son. One key is needed, it doesn’t get lost and we always know where it is.

The instructions are easy to follow, I’d suggest reading them – once read your good to go. I had no issues setting it up, following the instructions via the QR code.

I’m super happy with this lock box it works really well. I got my fella to assemble it which was easy enough for him. I suggest you read the instructions if you haven’t used anything like this before. In the instructions are 2 QR codes the first is a tutorial which is very handy and shows you step by step instructions from installing to downloading the app. And the second is the app. I’m usually quite wary when you have to download an app but this doesn’t use any permissions which I thought was very good. Then once you download the app it’s very easy to use. You can generate a one time code to open it or set up one to use all the time. You can also let friends or family use it too with your permission. And it always comes with a notification to your phone so you will know when someone has tried. The Bluetooth works well too which I thought was a nice feature. You don’t have to use it with the box it comes with either you could screw it to a bigger box keeping that safe. For the price and what you get with this product its such a good price and I would highly reccomend it.

    Works grea

Whether you need a key safe for your home from home or just to have one in a garage or by the front door this is a clever little unit that is sturdily made.

You can open it using Bluetooth or a Passcode (Be this one time) or Numerous set up for family … Each can have their own code so they don’t have to remember a single code … Also helpful if one family member forgets theirs they can ask another for theirs to gain access !!

It was well package with a basic instruction manual showing you the general instructions however you can scan a QT code to get more instructions or watch a video (Although this shows the installation for a locker !) But the premise is the same.

You have the option to either fix it to a wall with the supplied rawl plugs & screws or you can use the handle (Simply loop it round what you want to secure it to & then fit the nuts inside the case ) My only problem with this is that it leaves a hole at the bottom back of the unit for water to ingress ! – Maybe a rubber bung or just a spare small nut & bolt would have been a good addition here.

You get a small flat (Slot) head screwdriver included which is a bit odd seeing all the screws are Philips + Type , so a bit useless that one !

It takes 2 x AA Batteries which apparently give a years use ( I would certainly use a decent brand) None are included . The battery tray could use a “Pull Tab” Behind the batteries to enable easy removal as they are quite fiddly to remove … This could be a good deterrent in the event that someone wants to tamper with it !

Once the app is downloaded from a QR code which sends you to either the Google Play / Apple Store you install the app & register the lock . This then enables you to connect via Bluetooth – To Open the lock / Set a 1 time password / Set up multiple passwords / Set a time activated Password . It works very well , Just make sure you open the locker within about 5 seconds otherwise it will relock itself. (There is also a Key access point to the left of the unit & 2 keys are supplied )

All in all a great little key safe with some cool feature – Although bear in mind the little “Helpers” I pointed out …

    Hope this help .

A "Cracking" Little Key safe that is easy to use & ingenious !
