We are very happy with the overall quality and look of the barn door hardware. Looks and works great. Very smooth operation.
Simple design. Good quality hardware and powder coating. I used this hardware on a 49×97″ custom solid door 1.75″ thick. This door must weight close to 200lbs. Slides smooth!
Very easy to install and to modify with a bit of ingenuity. In my case, I would add a rubber or plastic cover for the rail end at the stairway to prevent injuries.
Never used it but i liked it . Thats the main thing . Customer satisfactio
Thanks to Winsoon for the excellent customer service: some parts were missing, loosed during delivery, and they helped me sending new kit for free.
Good shipper, all hardware in good condition and easy to install. Used to hang on linden closet.
I recommend that you build a header, the drywall anchors provided are good but drywall will only support so much weight, causing most doors to sag somewhere. The pre-drilled holes 16″ on center will rarely hit wood, this project hit wood twice over the door frame. I used a poplar 1X4 which measures 3/4 X 3 1/2 from a big box store, screwed into the studs in the wall. The spacers provided have a wide end on one side that is the side that should go against the wall. The instructions for hanging the rollers on the door are vague, the top hole is measurement is correct from the top of the door but the measurement for the bottom hole is from the center of the top hole not the door. Check or you will end up with 3 holes in the top of your door. My door is 2″ thick so I went to a big box store and bought longer bolts and painted the heads black. The provided hardware had no problem supporting a larger door. Overall a good product.
Libretto delle istruzioni chiaro e dettagliato, prodotto ben fatto e di facile installazione.
Worked as advertised. Was missing pieces contacted seller shipped out fast. I am very happy with the product and with it their follow up.
This railing was easy to install and definitely strong construction.
Installation instructions are hard – had to wing it a bit and had a couple of bits that needed correcting. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re really good at DIY but looks great and slides lovely once up
Used this on exterior wall to hang a barn door over the doorway into a storage room attached to my house. It has been in place for almost a year and works really well and finish is holding up well to the weather.
Easy assembly but center joint could be better designed on 8″
This is the second door from Winsoon I’ve installed. The first one was a breeze because I found studs for every hole. For this one I only found one stud and had to use the provided anchors for the other three. However the anchors provided simply don’t work, not strong enough. You must get toggle bolts. The anchors they provide in no way will allow you to hang the rail. Other than that, it’s a good product.
Honestly install was going great until we went to hang the rail. It’s heavy, too heavy for the toggles provided. Ended up buying butterfly toggles designed to hold up to 150 lbs to anchor the rail. Also, be aware of where your studs are. My 1987 house’s studs didn’t line up with the every 26 inch predrilled holes. The togglebolts did the trick but without those, this install would have been a fail. It’s a solid product, just know you might have to solution to old house issues.
This is a really good product, well made easy to install and looks really really good, I’ve put it onto our bathroom door and it adds a touch of luxury. Thoroughly recommend and it’s a really good price, thank you
Overall, this wasn’t too bad of an install. The instructions did have a lot of info, but I felt as if they focused on the photos rather than the words. I was going to do this on my own but then decided it would be easier with a helping hand and it definitely was! I love how it looks on my barn door I made.
After writing a poor review about not being able to get in touch with the seller. They contacted me and resolved the issue by sending us a replacement piece in a timely matter and free of charge. Happy with the consumer service!
Great rail system smooth
Easy to install but I am a carpenter
Would purchase again for any more jobs . Highly recommend
The rails work great with our barn door! The instructions were ok to read and follow, difficult at times with the pictures they put with the instructions but we got it figured out and they work well! Definitely a two person job.
Product arrived complete with all components. I needed to add spacers to the door rollers as the door I installed was a solid 1 1/2″ door. Had to add a backer board to the spacers to ensure the hardware cleared the existing door trim. Works great and rolls smooth
“Metal” piece that was supposed to hold it together cracked in 1/2. Ended up going to Home Depot buy a 6 foot track and using the piece that wasn’t damaged.
Update 9/1 company contacted me, and has worked out all my concerns. Would definitely use them again! Thank you
Good value for the money.
Installation was “fairly” straightforward.
Tip Do not use the cheap drywall anchors included in the package!
Mount the track to wood.
Track and hardware function well.
I took a couple days to install this and I had to redo! But, I still call this worth it for the space it saves me.
Installation can be done solo, but is much easier with a helper.
First complaint- not the right sized bolts for the door hanger. It’s loose on my door and I will have to buy something to sturdy it. (Pic should show the gap)
Second complaint- the door hanger bolts are too thick, and because of this I had to take the whole thing down and add an extra piece of wood to my wall to avoid damaging the original frame. Measure carefully the thickness of your frame to avoid taking it down and reinstalling! (Pic should show scrapped frame and extra wood piece added)
I do recommend this product. Great price, and it seems very well-made.
The minor adjustments to make it fit for my house may not apply to everyone.
The hardware kit is easy to assemble and install, but you need 2 people. I bought the 9ft version which ships in 2 4.5ft sections. The connection between the 2 bars is weak and moves when you lift it. The bars are generically drilled which leaves 1 more hole for a lag screw and spacer than they send you. Extra parts are available. It is a sturdy mount. This door is 200# of solid red oak. As the holes for the lags are predrilled in this and most any other kit on the market, the almost never center on a stud. Install a good piece of wood for a ledger and you won’t have to worry. Once it’s installed and level, the rollers move quite nicely. As far as the rollers go, the instructions for drilling the holes are confusing. Mark and drill the 1st hole, using the 2nd measurement from the center of the 1st hole to the center of the 2nd hole. Only the top hole is actually measured from the top of the door. The measurement for the track is to the center of the bar from the floor.
Easy to install very sturdy value is 100 you get what you pay for if you need a door that opens and closes with out any effort this is the way to go
I just finished installing this hardware. It looks nice, rolls very smoothly. If your door is 1 3/8s thick or slightly less you will need to buy extra washers for spacers. Instructions leave some to be desired a bit confusing in Step#1 as to distance from top for bolt hole. The distance they say is from the top hole, not the top of the door.
Easy to install. My contractor put it up. He made a door based off of the specs and the photo! We had a laundry closet with bifold doors that stuck out in the hall. The sliding barn door works and looks great!
Small older camp with limited area worked fine. I wanted to use the original door which is thinner than a barn door so we needed shorter bolts. Bought some at the local hardware store sprayed with gloss black paint worked perfectly. Thankful the nuts were regular thread so fit great.
This was installed over a pantry situated in an entry hallway where a swing-out door is not ideal. We are thrilled with the quality and smooth operation. The solid bar is a big plus.
Installation was straightforward. Some skill is required to get it level and even. Double-check all measurements against the hardware, as I think I remember one of the instruction steps was inaccurate. We also included an add-on soft-close mechanism that makes the door action extra nice on both ends. The door we used is hollow-core Jeld-Wen from HD so I used some large fender washers on the back side to fasten the hangers. With the door being light, there’s no problem. (Note – the one bolt in the photo looks silver but it’s just a reflection of the light–the black bolts do not stand out.)
We purchased the bypass door hardware and changed our plan midway into the installation and had to order the longer track. We had to install a bracket behind the track to clear the distance of the trim around the door. This hardware is very sturdy and less expensive than your more famous hardware outlets.
I purchased the 11ft track to hang 2 barn doors over a closet. The hardware came complete and is incredibly well built. I used a laser lever during the installation and the track went up without any issues at all. Both installation and assembling the track were no problem – all is outlined in the instructions. The doors roll effortlessly along the track. I’d definitely purchase this hardware again, if I ever put up more barn doors.
All items came with the track. I had the 12ft order which came with 2 pcs of 6ft track. I did require a friend to assist during the installation of the track to the wall. The bracket/plate used to secure both tracks could have had larger washers that would actually cover the predrilled holes. Otherwise, my 8ft x 6ft barn door looks great on it and slides perfectly. A little tuning and spacing out from the wall is all that required some attention.
Sturdy, strong and easy to install. I like the one piece bar forth 7.5′ version. I build my door out of plywood and pine lumber so it was heavier than normal but this hardware is plenty strong enough. The rollers move smoothly and quietly. Would buy again.
Good instructions provided. Hardware was packaged very well. Assembly and installation was relatively easy, but did have to drill holes to match up with wall studs, but not a big deal. Overall assembly looks very good and is very sturdy, holding up a heavy door that slides easily and mates up well with the wall. Worked well keeping the rollers and rail below the ductwork that it slides under. The door I built was 1.25 inches thick, so had to cut off 1/2 inch length on the bolts attached to the door since they were too long (the picture shows wood spacers on the metal prior to cutting the bolts, so the picture is not quite the final installation). Door opening is 48 inches and trim on each side is 2.5 inches (1/2 inch thick), so made door 53 inches wide to cover trim when closed. Installed door hardware to allow rollers to go under nearby ductwork, then trimmed door height accordingly.
Looks just like the picture and it’s pretty sturdy. It wasn’t very easy to install. My brother and cousin worked on it and it took them a few hours even though they are very handy. It looks good though once it’s completed.
I am very happy with my purchase. This hardware was super easy to install, except when I got halfway through the assembly and realized that the bolts were to long to attach the hangers to the door. MY FAULT COMPLETELY! I totally misread the depth…ugghhh. I have no idea how I did that, but I really liked the door (and already drilled holes), so I contacted the seller and I received a response right away. Not only did I get a quick response, the seller sent out new bolts right away. How great is that?? Seriously, that is customer service!! I am ready to hang my barn door this weekend and I can’t wait. This is well made hardware…it is solid and looks it. Also, the price is so much better than others online. I would definitely buy this product again, I would 100% recommend to a friend, and I highly recommend this seller!!
The product is well made, all pieces included as advertised, clear instructions. I had been looking for a while and this is the best price for this style and size I have seen anywhere especially with the free shipping. Our doors were about 1/4″ too thick for the clearance, we were able to countersink the back nut so it wouldn’t drag, so we were able to fix the issue. Double-check the thickness of your doors if you are making a custom door. ours are 2″ and that is probably the maximum the kit bolts will accommodate. We are very happy with how our project turned out.
This is one of two barn doors that we had handymen install with the barn door track in the listing. The installation looked very simple and was something we could have saved money by doing it ourselves. Looks great and was very affordable. Handymen threw the rail plugs away, so I need to contact support to see if I can get some sent to me.
Just an update: I contacted Winsoon about the plugs. They responded quickly and the plugs have been installed. Great service!
I used 80 year old pine panelling boards I salvaged from our cottage before we tore it down and built a new home. The look we wanted came out nicely for my wifes sewing room in our basement. Instructions were quite good and packaging of all the parts and pieces was excellent. Nothing scratched or damaged. I would have given a 5 star rating but there is one drawback. The plastic sheetrock anchors for the lag bolts were not up to the job. They twisted out as soon as any pressure was put on them as I screwed them in. I ended up with holes in the sheetrock every 16″ and had to fashion a different assembly to mount the rail to the wall. Fortunately, I am pretty good at coming up with work-arounds and it turned out as hoped. BTW, my studs were not positioned for mounting the pre-drilled rail so that the door would cover the opening completely so it was necessary to try and use the plastic anchors.
I would give it a 5 but the instructions are terrible. If somebody is not very handy they’ll struggle. They should take the part out of the description that says holes align with studs. Read all the reviews. Its true. So either fix the product to match the description ot change the description. Its expensive too. It probably costs less than 20 bucks to make.
