We recommend that at least one linked smoke alarm is installed on each floor. Always install linked smoke alarms and heat detectors as centrally as possible under the ceiling at a minimum distance of 50 cm from walls or lights. Linked fire alarms should be available in all corridors and those used as escape routes from the common rooms in the event of a fire. In addition, every bedroom should be equipped with a smoke detector, bedrooms, children’s rooms and guest rooms.

Simple to install and set up. Needed a ladder but everything else is in the box. Simplest way to meet the requirements in Scotland. At a fair price
Very easy to install. Good value compared to what it costs to have a company provide and install so really pleased it was painless to order and fit ourselves.
Already paired straight out of the box so no messing about.
Delivered on time. Very easy to connect to one another and fix to the ceiling. Very neat and slimline. Obviously can’t comment on battery life.
alarms are interlinked and ready to fix to wherever needed straight from the box. the adhesive only works on perfectly flat and clean surfaces, so I ended up screwing it to the ceilings, as the adhesive wouldn’t stick. easy enough if you have a ladder and a drill/screwdriver. Saved me hundreds of pounds as I could easily fit it myself and still be in compliance with Scottish Law.
Units were supplied with 3m double sided fixing tape so install was a breeze. Units were easily synced with single button operation, instructions were simple and clear.
Units are also pleasantly decreet.

Each unit was supplied with fixing options screws & rawlplugs or 3m double sided fixing tape (this is disc shaped and very easy and effective once applied)
Installation is easy (they are already paired together – so you don’t need to do anything, it appears adding further devices is pretty easy if you need more of them). They come with fixings to screw them to your ceiling/walls or a double sided sticky ring if you don’t want to get the screwdriver out.
Testing process is good and I confirmed that all the alarms do activate at the same time when one is tested.
The 10 year battery life means that I shouldn’t have to worry about changing them any time soon – I just have to remember to test them regularly.

These smoke alarms are so so easy to fit! There is a double sided sticky ring that sticks to the alarms meaning that they can be fitted anywhere. This is especially good for me because one of the ceilings I wanted an alarm on is really old and a but crumbly and I didn’t fancy drilling holes or putting screws into it.
I tested the alarms and they are super loud, as you would expect and when one went off so did the other 2. I’m really pleased with my purchase and would recommend them
Super easy to set up. Put all the devices together before installing, tap the heat alarm four times, tap the others four times and they’re ready to go.
I bought an extra smoke alarm because it’s a 3 bed house. The extra one synced up no problem.
Sticky pads seem to do the trick providing your ceiling is flat. I’d recommend using the screws for the heat alarm though since kitchen ceilings are greasy and it’ll likely not stick.
They’re by far the best looking ones on the market too, looking more like actual house hold equipment that more or less blend in with your home, as opposed to the ugly UFO’s you may have seen.
The LEDs are all under the surface and don’t appear unless they’re being synced up or activated, so if you’re putting them in bedrooms there’s no annoying lights.
These alarms are very easy to set up. They link with each other at the push of a button so if one goes off they all sound. The heat one is fitted between the kitchen and dining room and the other two in hallways. Seem to be of very good quality and are very easy to install. The instructions were clear and a ten year battery life is excellent. Came very quickly and well packaged. I can recommend them.
First impressions – the box contains everything you need to get started, including the alarms and instructions, plastic mounting brackets, screws for installation or 3M circular adhesive pads for installation. I haven’t yet mounted these as I am living in a rental property and intend to use command strips for this purpose. Reading the manual the instructions were clear and it was reassuring to see the necessary EU and CE security markings for added peace of mind.
Set up is extremely easy – they are paired straight out of the factory so you should just long press each smoke detector for 10 seconds to enable it. You can test them easily and if you want to add more detectors you can pair them easily by pressing four times rapidly on the device to pair and twice on the others. You can also quickly press twice to unpair. Really quick and easy, I think it took me around 5 minutes to get these set up and if you wanted to use the screws then it would take maybe 10 minutes.
I tested these using a portable heater and my e-cigarette. It wasn’t super easy to trigger using my e-cigarette which is a good sign for smoke/vapour in the house. The alarm sound is nice and loud, exactly what you would desire from a smoke detector. Really easy to operate and turn off the alarm if necessary too by just pressing the smart buttons on the device – they are “invisible” but really easy to find and press, which brings me to my next point – these are much sleeker and nicer looking than our current cheap smoke alarms!
I have had a real pain with smoke detectors going off from cooking so I really look forward to how these can improve our lives. I rated the battery life 5 stars, obviously this isn’t something I can test immediately however I am sure the products will last a long time. It was reassuring to see that the devices come with a 2 year warranty so if any issues whatsoever are encountered within this period then the devices would be immediately replaced. I have had experience with CPVan’s customer service before, communication was very fast and no-quibble and a replacement would be sent out extremely quickly.
All in all very happy with these smoke detectors.
Installation was easy, just check there’s no electricity behind the ceiling, drill two holes, and screw the backplate in. The kit came already paired, which was a nice time saver. As well as screws there were sticky pads, which seemed fine, though I didn’t try them.
Another thing I liked was that there’s a remote control available to purchase, meaning no more stretching up to the ceiling to test the alarms or hush them. It would be nice if it was included in the kit, as although it wasn’t pricy it was quite hard to find.
Alarms are neat and unobtrusive. Battery life will only be tested over time. Easily fixed to the ceiling. I used the screws rather than the adhesive pads supplied. One of the smoke alarms did not activate. I contacted the seller. Once I explained what was wrong a replacement was sent within days along with instructions and videos on how to connect the alarms wirelessly. The three alarms were easily connected. They are loud and test very well. Very pleased with the product and extremely pleased with the seller and their after sale care.
It was really difficult to find smoke alarms that were interlinked plus had a sealed 10 year battery, to comply with regulations, so delighted to find these. Have just bought another set for a family member.
Make very sure the back facing which attaches to the roof is properly held together – I had one fall off the roof – It proves the system works though!
The instructions are detailed and clear, and the item comes well packed. Alarm sound is loud and clear and everything works as expected. Of course I’m not sure if it will indeed last the claimed 10 years but otherwise I am very happy. Another great product from CPVAN – recommended!
