Quite easy to assemble with very good instructions and very good value for money – at least half the price of Lego similar items and looks good.

My grandson of 6 years, with a minimum of help from his 9 year old sister has had an immense amount of fun assembling this 3 in 1 Lego set. Rather than having to dismantle the items to reassemble other items they are assembled as separate items to use as an imaginative play set. Very well thought out and great fun over Christmas.

Grandson is an avid lego fan and has built a city using their city packs in his bedroom. He rates this as being just as good as lego – from my point of view, I am delighted as it is cheaper!

This an amazing building set for children. In the style and almost the same quality as Lego you are supplied with 1091 white, blue and orange bricks/pieces plus step by step full colour instructions enabling you to build the following …

    ** Rocket
    ** Rocket launcher
    ** Space shuttle
    ** Space module
    ** Control station
    ** Transport truck

This is a large and very impressive building set which should provide a child with hours of fun in building and playing with this set.

There are eleven numbered bags of building bricks in total each of which corresponds to the various steps and builds clearly marked in the manual.

This building set is recommended for children aged 6 or over, however in my opinion it might be a bit too hard for a child under the age of 9 to attempt on his own. I built the rocket with my seven year old granddaughter and we found it pretty complicated and it took us a good couple of hours.

I think this is a excellent product and would be an immediate hit with either a space mad child or Lego construction addict. It’s brilliant.

79.99 (price correct at the time of this review) is a good price for this building set. The individual builds are large and well detailed.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have found my review helpful.

My husband made this up with some help from the nine year old and the four year old.

There are literally over a thousand pieces of small hard, interlock-able plastic pieces. Thank goodness they came in numbered bags.

Any which way, many hours later my husband, has still not managed to use all the bricks in the pack to make the space shuttle. He’s convinced they added an extra few to confuse him.

I love this set as it has kept my husband occupied for hours.

Because this is a really fine space station and the four year old is obsessed with we have glued parts of the space shuttle and launching pad together.

We believe the that the space shuttle in particular is fragile as some of the overhanging things are too heavy when opened and shut. We think this is a model design flaw not the fault of the bricks which do stick together well.

The space lorry satellite and satellite carrier are very robust in play

For the number of things to make and detail this set is incredibly good value. It is one for an aficionado of Lego as it is pretty complicated and will take many hours to complete. The instructions are good.

Lego commands a premium and this set is not Lego. This set provides a much cheaper entry point, however you are buying a a copy using Lego’s intellectual property. Then again you could argue that the premium Lego charges is outrageous!

    Hours of work

The City Space Mars Exploration Space Shuttle Building Kit is a Lego-like toy of good design and quality. With 1091 pieces, it requires a lot of attention and patience. Although it was for my 11 year old grand son, my 13 year old grand daughter found a renewed interest in building with Lego during the latter part of lockdown, so she was more than happy to help him.
The finished items are sophisticated and detailed, more so than I would expect from a Lego toy. As well as play value, there is genuine educational value and an insight to space vehicles and their purpose. The space rocket and launch pad is big and impressive. Unlike a lot of construction toys, building this is not the end of the story. It is a compelling toy that encourages play and evokes an interest in space and exploration.
This toy is not cheap and it is not a down market Lego copy, it is well designed and made, and capable of being judged on its merits. In my judgement, it is good value.

This set is really great quality. It isn’t the usual big brand name but the quality is similar. It comes with easy to use instructions and takes a fair amount of time to put together.

It is fun to build and also fun to play with the finished product. It is great for imagination and for learning spacial awareness.

The price is very reasonable and as such I would highly recommend it.

My children were so ecstatic with this huge box . This is an amazing set, so impressed with it. Not only does it look impressive (box design, model and figure design), it has loads of terrific details. It was surprising how many packages were in the box. Each bag of Lego was numbered which made it much easier for us to keep track of. We made it in instructions order which was an easier way to follow and complete. The instruction manual was clear and easy to follow with each piece easily identifiable and with clear images to show how they click together.
This product is wonderful, It kept both kids entertained for hours whilst they built it and they are enjoying playing with the product after it’s been out together, they had a such a fun building this with each others help. My son is a little younger than the recommended age, found it handy having the removal tool supplied of great help when a piece was placed incorrectly.
This is a smashing lego set, a very good substantial size with lovely colour pieces and great detail in the decorative parts. It was quality parents /children time and having it on record is even better, will give many happy hours of play.

This arrived in perfect condition in its own branded box.
I got this for for my 7 years old grandson who loves to build things and will spend ages with his other building kits. He’s very good at following the instructions and isn’t daunted by the larger building sets.
This kit is on the larger side and consists of individual marked bags that correspond with the instructions.
If this kit was to be compared to another well known brand of building toy I’d say it fares very well.
The only complaint is have is that the box isn’t suitable for storage afterwards (this isn’t something that bothered my grandson)
The price is not as expensive as other brands and so you do get value for money.
My grandson is pleased with it and if you aren’t swayed by the name on a box then this is a good toy.

City Space Mars Exploration Space Shuttle Toy Building Kit, City Space Rocket and Launch Control Model Rocket Building Set, STEM Astronaut Roleplay Spaceship Toy for Boys and Girls (1091 Pieces).

The city space Mars Exploration Space Shuttle Building Kit is a very nice gift for my grandkids to have and play with, Very well made and very easy for my grandkids to set up and build the set without having problems as it’s made for Kids so its very ideal for my grandkids as they understand how to build.

The rocket building set has such a nice bundle of bits as you get 1091 Pieces which is allot compared to others I’ve got my grandkids in the past, These are a lovely set as my grandkids cannot stop playing with the set, They like it all but specially the space shuttle which is big and has so many different bits to it.

I would say any kids of the ages of 6 too 12 would love this space set as my grandkids absolutely adore the set, Very god quality, Works very well and looks like it will last a long time, Very easy to wipe down too, I would definitely recommend for the price and quality.

I was really impressed by this. It is a high quality, intricate product which you can spend hours playing with (well, you can spend hours helping your child to build their space crafts). You can make a rocket, space shuttle, control tower, and truck. So far we have only managed the latter and spent a good 2 hours doing it. Our 4 and 8 year old were really excited and are nagging to make the shuttle next – I expect looking at the pieces it will take 4-5 hours so a great way to spend a rainy day at home together. This is a fantastic set, would make an ideal present also. Just be careful when opening the packets as there are obviously many many small pieces which are vital to the build! They can all be stored back in the box afterwards if you are careful when opening. However, we have opted for plastic lock box tubs with labels on the front instead. Highly recommend!

    WOW

Honestly, if this came with that well-known brand on the box you would never know the difference the quality is great and this set is massive for the price, we had a great afternoon building and playing with this and I cannot mark it down for anything it’s a brilliant set and lots of fun, when built they look identical to the images too, highly recommended to all.

Seriously impressed with the quality of this set. The instructions are easy to follow along with pictures (very similar to leading brand) and my children (6 & 11) and husband are really enjoying building the set together.
We have bought cheaper building sets in the past and have been disappointed with the quality of the bricks but this is just as good as leading brand at a more reasonable price for the whole set. Just missing the figures!
    Highly recommend!

City Space Mars Exploration Space Shuttle Toy Building Kit.
Normally cheaper Lego sets are not upto to the high quality of Lego but this is actually just like Lego but at a fraction of the cost.
Different models to complete your space shuttle, each model has its own instructions that are very easy to follow. Each bag is numbered so no searching for 100’s of different pieces. Very easy to put together.
I secretly love putting Lego together, takes hours to put together but seconds to break
Great fun bonding with my daughter.
    Highly recommend

This is a really similar set to the LEGO building sets. It was delivered quickly and in good quality packaging. There are 1091 pieces in total which is a lot but it will teach your child to be patient and independent. It ends up quite big and heavy so be careful in case you break it.

The pieces are high quality and colourful, they fit together really well as well which is good. I like the fact many different things can be built, and the instructions and clear and simple to follow but there are a lot of them.

Overall, I highly recommend, a great gift idea for kids and good value for money.

Yep, compatible with Lego and a lot cheaper. The quality is high, to Lego standards I would say, and there is a lot to do here. Obvious space type construction with hours of construction fun followed by playability. It’s a brilliant set, bright, fun and exciting with almost unlimited fun.
    The kids absolutely love it.

Hours of fun! The pieces are durable, well-made, and fit together perfectly – it’s hard to tell they’re not real Legos. The instructions are straightforward enough for kids to follow without needing an adult’s help.

I love how versatile the kit is so several different designs can be built instead of just one that needs to be disassembled to build another. The designs are surprisingly detailed for a non-Lego set, so they’re even more fun to roleplay with. The finished models are quite large and they look wonderful sitting on a shelf or desk. They’re also sturdy and don’t tip over easily.

All the pieces come in numbered plastic bags, which makes it easier to find different pieces and not have to have everything out in the open if I’m only using one specific set of bricks.

The perfect gift for any young Lego fan! Fantastic value for money as a comparable set from the well known brand would cost much more. Highly recommended!

Excellent quality building bricks that fit together firmly. I was really impressed with this set, it’s not as good as Lego but it’s the best alternative I’ve seen and the price makes it excellent value. My son found some of his old Lego out and I can confirm it is compatible. The manual is excellent giving clear and concise picture instructions that were easy to follow.

When I emptied the contents I had 2 base plates and a cap loose in the box. After looking through the instructions I found out the base plates belong with packs 3 and 7. The cap I found out had come out of one of the packets which was ripped in several places. Luckily none of the pieces were missing, in fact I had an extra orange piece. I built up the pack that was open to make sure it was all there before giving it to my eldest great-nephew. He’s finished it since and his parents were also impressed with the quality. They only thing that surprised us was there’s no figures included, but he has plenty of Lego ones to use with it. This brand is well worth buying if you’re looking for cheaper alternatives. I spent a fortune on Lego for my son, I wish the alternatives then were as good as this!

    Excellent quality construction se

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst off, this is not a Lego Space Station. However, it is very similar so kids won’t really notice the difference. Basically, you can make your space station set up using the detailed instructions although younger children would find it quite hard. Perhaps aged 10 upwards would be a fair age to get to grips with something which can seem quite daunting and complex to a younger child. Although the makers are claiming it is suitable for a child aged six plus!
It certainly would prove a stimulating construction toy for a creative, space mad child who has a degree of patience. However, so many kids these days have no patience and just want instant gratification before moving on to the next fun fix. So….for patient creative kids only!

    Review update 06.10.21:
Just a quick addition to say that when breaking down the set (to pack away and so something else can be built with the bricks) it became apparent just had good the included brick separator is. Better than the Lego and Oxford variations.

You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce which Danish construction toy this set is aping. A similar Lego Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control set retails around 90-plus, so a fair bit more than this, but that is the real thing obviously, and not exactly a like-for-like comparison. Those very familiar with Lego and similar construction brick toys will know that it is all about the clutch factor, i.e. how well the the bricks stick together. No one wants to spend ages building a set only to find that the first play with it sees it fall apart in your hands.

This is not our first experience of non-L-word construction sets as my son has quite a lot of Oxford and Kreo construction toys, which are effectively one and the same company and are Korean Lego-compatible brick sets. They are excellent, both in value, quality and the set details and unique (to their sets) parts, but are sadly difficult to get hold of now. When my son was younger we also had a lot of the poor quality construction sets and mini-figures, which proliferate on the shelves of out of town discount stores and are best avoided.

We were interested therefore to see where this set ranked in terms of those set that we already own and use.

The first thing noticed is the subject of the set, which my son approved of as he likes anything space-related. Also 1091 pieces is a decent amount of bricks to keep a 6+ year old (and their parents) amused for a while.

The bricks and other pieces are made of ABS apparently, but there’s no mention of toxicity etc. which could be a concern and is something that you don’t have to worry about with Lego. One clear difference between this set and most other construction brick sets is the lack of mini-figures. Yes you could use them with other make’s figures but why not provide some that specifically go with the set?

    In use:
The large box felt surprisingly heavy, which shouldn’t really have been a surprise as it contains 1091 pieces. It contained 11 bags of bricks plus two base plates that weren’t in bags, a small white one and a large black one that unfortunately was bent a little, or perhaps warped. The box was intact so I don’t see how this could have happened in transit. A bit disappointing and not something that I have ever seen in a Lego set (though we did have some missing pieces once, which they supplied).

The instructions, like the numbered bags (designed to make it easier to find the pieces for each section your are building and make less mess as you build it) are incredibly Lego-like. While I appreciate the bags for making the build more logical and quicker, just as with lego sets, it’s creating a lot of unnecessary plastic waste. My son said he prefers these instructions to Lego ones. From what I can see they are certainly clear and his preference is due to them having more bits and therefore more building to do in each per section. He’s 9 and a very adept builder and I suppose that if some of the Lego instructions are a bit plodding and fragmented it becomes frustrating.

One thing we both noticed was the quality of all the pieces in this Qman, Exercise’N’play, Mine City (bit of a mouthful) set. Most, though not all in so far as we can tell, are exactly like the Lego bricks we own and they include a surprising amount of technical type bricks and niche, rarer ones. Overlooking the commercial morality of that for a moment, it is good news for imaginative builders like my son and I who once we have built a set like to use the pieces to make our own creations whether that be with Lego, Oxford, Kreo and now this set. With 1091 pieces, including 6 wheels, some windscreens and some very interesting other parts, there’s probably quite a lot of original builds we can make with this set. Despite initial appearances the set doesn’t suffer from having too many of the larger, bespoke pieces (just the shuttle cockpit really). This is great news, as such bricks seem to increasingly be components of Lego’s sets. While I appreciate that these large pieces are perhaps sometimes necessary, I personally think that they detract from the value and overall usability of a set. If there is something lacking from this set though it is ‘normal’ building bricks so building your own houses, castles etc. using this set alone will not be so easy. The bricks all seem really well made and the ‘clutch’ factor is very good, too. The stickers that come with this set are good quality, peel off their backing well, and adhere to the bricks with no problems. All in all really impressed.

Although my son is a quick builder and I got ready most of the parts for him this still took a while to assemble. That’s a good thing as it speaks positively about the value of the set. Too many brick sets are built in the flash of an eye and for the money they cost are just not worth it – the film and other franchise tie-ins often being the worst value of all.

What you get once you build this set is a satellite, a little control booth thing (the weakest bit of the set), a space shuttle, a sort of fuel/launch truck and the main rocket and its launch pad. All are impressive both combined and separately, but the shuttle and the rocket with its launchpad are the standouts in my opinion. The lack of mini-figures is the only obvious omission as some astronauts and support staff would have been the finishing touch.
Yes it is derivative, very much so in fact, but putting that aside for the moment there’s no denying the quality and the enjoyment in building and then playing with this set. If making a comparison between the cheap discount store brick sets, the slightly better in-store own-brand ones (shop begins with a ‘W’) and the real thing (and very close competitors like Oxford), then the is definitely up there with the best, which to be honest, I wasn’t at all expecting. Even the Kreo bricks, which are general every good and quite innovative, have some components that are let down by poor clutch performance and don’t stick together well enough. Their version of this sets orange scaffolding (for the launch pad tower) is nowhere near as good as these ones are.

    PROS:
Price. Admittedly at 60 it is not a cheap set for non-Lego and some may baulk at paying that for a make they don’t know and therefore don’t yet trust. However, the most comparable current Lego set (less vehicles, less pieces but mini-figures and some other interesting elements (a building and monorail) costs 90+, which is a not inconsiderable difference.
Quality. Somewhat to my surprise the bricks were of a quality at least equal to Oxford/Kreo and virtually indistinguishable from Lego (both bricks and quality). Clutch factor, stickers, instructions, colour choice, overall design all really, really good.
Number of pieces and lack of large single-purpose pieces (only one really) elevates this set in terms of value and usability.
Nicely boxed and packaged in bags – handy for ease of building as were the clear instructions.
Compatible and darn near indistinguishable from you know what.
Set comes with Qman’s own design of brick separator tools which works well.
For once a set that looks better when built than it does on the box.

    CONS:
There’s the moral issue I suppose in buying something which is so clearly derivative. Having seen the prices of many Lego sets soar out of reach of many, ordinary people (especially children) and become something only for adult collectors, and the disappointment on my son’s face because we can’t afford to buy him some of the admittedly excellent-looking bigger sets, I am not so bothered about that as I might once have been. If you price your most loyal customers out of your best products you can’t be too surprised if someone else pops up to fill that vacuum.
The bent baseplate was an annoyance and as it was the base for the main element, the rocket and launchpad. I feared the whole thing might end up a bit wobbly, but thankfully that wasn’t the case and it was the only component in the set with any sort of defect.
The lack of mini-figures is really felt in this set as in our experience that’s what makes them more playable afterwards. Having looked at Qman’s website I can see that they do make sets with mini-figures (they have outsized heads, but look interesting if perhaps a little bit ‘Playmobile?’) so the decision to omit them here is incomprehensible (one of the box photos even appears to show a mini-figure in the rocket, which is a but misleading) . Thankfully my son has enough mini-figures already to use them when playing with this.
The price, while comparatively good value, is still not insignificant and will be too much for some families even though the -to-brick ratio is pretty darned good. I have dropped a star for this as when we bought our large Oxford sets they were better value and had innovative (better than Lego in many ways) mini-figures in them.

    OVERALL:
If you are struggling to afford the ‘real thing’ my advice is to shun the discount store poor quality construction bricks as they are poor quality, consider Kreo and especially Oxford if you can find them (Oxford are great for military brick sets), and to definitely give Qman a try. As longtime Lego enthusiasts we were very pleasantly surprised and our view is that you will not be disappointed if you but their sets and may in fact be converted.
    Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprised by the excellent quality of this set - shame there are no mini-figures included.

The main kit (shuttle) uses all the pieces and the other two models will be slightly smaller not using all the pieces. The highlights for me were the loading bay and satellite, along with the engines, but the whole build was fun and simple to follow. I really got a feeling of building blocks in my youth whilst making this set, with a slightly retro air to the whole model which sits really well with the subjects which hark back to the 60’s and 70’s.

It’s a good stable build with the only pieces that I’ve needed to put back together being the satellite and cockpit cover. The latter breaks pretty much every time he takes it of though and is defiantly the weak point of the model, but its 10 seconds to put it back together so no biggie.

with a not too challenging a build which didn’t take more than 2 hours, so perfectly doable in an afternoon. I would say 8+ is a little on the high side age wise and a 7 year old should be able to do this build by themselves, but if your doing this together with them 6+ would work well, if they have the attention span.

At first sight this could be mistaken for the product of another well known brand of construction kit and the packaging etc is remarkably similar. This is a pretty big set and my grandchildren were very pleased with it. They constructed it at my home so I am unable to comment on whether the pieces will be compatible with the afore mentioned similar product.

It is pretty complicated and I would have found it difficult to put together but it held no fears for my two aged 11 and 9 respectively. I will not go into all the details of what it can and cannot do as the Amazon page explains this very clearly.

There are multiple packages of differing parts and a very good booklet with detailed instructions on how it is to be assembled.

Very happy with this and the thing that also pleased me that it is made very clear that this is or Boys and Girls. None of this gender discrimination which always annoys me in large toyshops. It is not packaged to suit one way or the other and my grandchildren, both female, are very pleased with this. Kept them quiet for ages.

Their parents viewed the addition of yet another collection of pieces to be trod on with a sigh…

The best building set. My son loves it a lot.
This set is about a space. Can make shuttle, space rocket.

Worth to buy it for such price.

This is a really cool set and I would say the target market is 9 to adult, both for the building skills and also the interest. I like good kits as an alternative to jigsaws and this provides a good deal of pleasure and then there is the end result that looks stunning for display.
Pedants may argue that the Shuttle would not be a Mars vehicle but what the heck.
Ideal for the child who loves Space exploration.
Always a plus – does not need batteries.
Keep the instructions safe for rebuilds. Maybe the company will put e-manuals on-line to download eventually, as do Lego.

I must admit I got this because I thought it was Lego. It isn’t but it is excellent value for money and a great bit of kit for my kids to build, with my help of course.

Its not a small kit with over 1,000 pieces. Instructions were pretty clear and you get a lot for your money.

Age group is said to be rom 6 years old but that is a bit ambitious and I feel probably 8-10 is the right age range.

You get a lot of entertainment for you money and for the scale of bits I would say its great value.

Now everyone love a space rocket and this one comes with its launching pad, transporter, dsatelitte and control – its not a functional controller bar a nice addition to the kit.

The capsule opens which is a nice feature as does the rocket. How clever to open the capsule to expose a crane arm so you can do repairs in outer space.

Every thing is functional from the launch pad opening to let the rocket fly off .

Though this took time (and patience to build, it has allowed hours of fun and it is educational.

This product is slightly cheaper than the more well known brand (although not as cheap as I had expected). I was, however, delighted to see that the pieces are compatible.
The instructions allow for the basic model to be built and then it can be used in any way imaginable.
The model is designed for a 6+ child but I’m not sure many 6 year olds would be able to cope with this and would suggest that 8+ might be more appropriate.
Included in the models are many details which educate as well as entertain which is always good. This is great to fuel the imagination of any child with an interest in space.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersCity Space Mars Exploration Space Shuttle Toy Building Kit, City Space Rocket and Launch

My son loves all things Lego and pulls a nose at imitations as the quality is normally very poor, however, on this occasion, he was quite impressed and so was I to be honest. This is a 1091 piece set which, if you were to buy a comparable Lego set, would cost you in excess of 100 easily, this is only 63.89 and well worth the money, I’m very happy to recommend it.

This set is going to give your child hours and hours of endless fun constructing these space models, then even more hours playing. 11 bags are in this set, all numbered and correspond to the instruction manual, the box suggests this is ideal for 6+, I would suggest that 8+ is a fair starting age as the construction can be a bit tasking.

The set includes the following models:

    Rocket
    Rocket Launcher
    Space Module
    Transport Truck

There’s a slight difference between these bricks and Lego and that’s the weight of the bricks, these are lighter, not much, but you can tell, this isn’t an issue at all, they lock into place very easily, like I said, very comparable to Lego. The one big difference is the instruction manual, whereas Lego seem to devote a whole page to each building step, this instruction manual has 3 building steps, sometimes 4, to a page. The construction manual is big enough to clearly follow the instructions along with the illustrations, each part will tell you what bricks you need, then, like Lego, the illustration shows you how to, and where, to place them. I would’ve liked a bit more colour to help with the illustrations but it isn’t an issue at all.

Many Lego wannabies seem to do a decent job with the bricks but fail miserably when it comes to the construction manual, this manufacturer has done a very good job!

We have constructed the space module which took about an hour and that looks very cool, considering this is one of the smallest builds in the kit then I can imagine the others will take much more time, 11 bags remember, the space module only used one bag!!

This manufacturer has done a marvellous job at creating a construction kit which is similar to Lego, I’ve purchased many imitations in my time and they’re really not in the same league as Lego, this set is!

As I mentioned earlier, you’re getting a lot of building projects for your money here potentially saving you quite a bit, it’s compatible with Lego and has been made to a very good standard, the construction manual is clear and easy to follow. At 63.89, it’s worth buying, would make a great Christmas or Birthday gift.

I’m actually saving this product in my Amazon Wish List because my son is a huge Minecraft fan and if this manufacturer ever makes Minecraft builds then I’d be very happy to purchase them, all of them!

    Highly recommended!

The quality is exceptional - Compatible with Lego - Very good value - Highly Recommended!
