Easy to use and set up the app works well with Apple health
Overall the your blood pressure reading and ECG. This is excellent.
But the stethoscope is pointless. It never records anything and is always inconclusive.
Even with the latest firmware 841. It still doesn’t record anything.
My Apple Watch can do an ECG as can a few other watches.
Personally I’d save the money and buy Withings cheaper blood pressure only machine. Save your money if your buying this for all the feature.
I like the fact that the unit is in one piece, i.e, the cuff and device come as one. Ease of use is an important factor for me and the unit scores highly in that area. Integrates really well with the Healthmate app and data provided by other Withings products. We use Scanwatch and Body+ to provide a fully integrated health monitoring system.
Works well, I would like greater visibility on battery charge level. Cuff is overlarge, whilst it fits there is some leftover which annoys me. The app could be better integrated with other health apps like Samsung and the galaxy watch information.
I can achieve everything I need from this blood pressure monitor it’s small enough to pop in your bag and take anywhere your going. It’s really accurate in more ways than one every checkup is recorded on my phone and then shown to my nurse every 4 weeks. I still don’t understand all of the things that are displayed on the screen but my nurse just breezes through it all and she is very impressed with all the data that is recorded. My nurse says that it is competitively priced for what it does and is high end piece of equipment but unfortunately the NHS won’t fund them so all I have to say is happy nurse – happy patient.
Purchased this to log and record BP for my Dr. The ECG and analytical information in the app is great. Like most of these new things, a little pricey but I am happy with it.
The BMP from Withings is compact and extremely easy to use. Combining it with my Withings Watch and APP makes life as easy as it gets. Good Quality and I would definitely recommend it.
Expensive compared to so many bp monitors available in Amazon but this is well designed and made.
There are a couple of things that took a while to get right in use.
1. The velcro strip keeps sticking too easily which makes it difficult to place the bad correctly, I found I turned the band around so the control unit is virtually under your arm, this allows you to wrap the velcro over without it getting stuck, you then turn the while thing around so the control unit it at the top as suggested.
2. The ECG and stethoscope sound recording can be difficult to get right, after searching on the net for few days, I found the best way to get the sound recording to work is to bring the stethoscope sensor to the front of the chest so it above the nipple, like crossing your arm, this tends to work most of the time, instead of the illustration in the booklet.
The cuff is a generous size, which was my main concern. It took me a couple of attempts initially to place it properly for the reading to work, but never had a problem since.
The only problem I has was interpreting the instructions from the web page properly. Probably me being dim. The key point to note is once the reading has finished a line of dashes appears. To change the user to another person registered on the device you need to swipe on the line until the chosen user’s name appears.
The battery life appears to be very good. I have used it twice a day for about 7 weeks on 1 initial charge and it is still showing 68% full.
A good bit of kit. Glad I spent the money.
Brilliant
Does exactly what it says it will do
I had Withings original BP monitor and this one (Core) is a superb update to the original
It’s super fast, accurate, easy to use, insightful and when paired with the excellent Health Mate App, it is a world beate
One of the reasons I chose this model is because it also listens to your heart and can detect 4 of the most common heart problems, it also takes your ecg, making it a great all-round health device.
I am a big apple fan and the integration with the health app is great, having said that the withing’s Health Mate app is excellent and you can create reports and send them off to your doctor or print them out very easily.
Highly recommend
Lovely all in one BPM,ECG and stethoscope, good communications and customer support, I had problems with it but sorted,I think the problem sorted with the update of the map as they said but I had to clear the cash and data of the app ,uninstall it and them install it again.
I purchased the Withings BPM Core after suffering several unexpected heart attacks at 39.
It’s very easy to set up, very easy to use and tracks metrics automatically. For me this has become part of my daily routine and it couldn’t be easier or more effortless. Yes, it’s quite expensive but if you’re looking for an accurate wireless BPM and have specific health reasons for doing so then it’s well worth the investment.
I’m a long time user of Withings including their BPM
This is the ultimate as it has a ELECTROCARDIOGRAM which the lower models dont have.
Note that ECG does not operate if your resting heart rate is below 50 BPM, very annoying but I’ve trying to live with this limitation
Main advance over previous gen is that with WiFi inbuilt it does not have to go via your Bluetooth phone connection to upload a reading
You can now take a reading soley by using this device on its own. After making a full measurement of BP HR and ECG you then select the user (you can have multiple), click, and it uploads it to the withings website whilst also displaying the results. Very very convenient ( and more reliable compared to previous models that had to go via your smartphone)
Also, this has a rechargeable battery making it super convenient to recharge.
If you have to have the best the BPM Core is the product to go for. From a value for money perspective though the BPM Connect is a much better buy!
This is a great device that connects to your phone with a dedicated app and allows you to create a pdf or your measurement to share them with your doctor. You can add more profiles so all the family can use the device. It’s really great how the stethoscope allows you to hear your own heartbeat on your phone. I’ve realised after a couple of uses that the best way to get a good and reliable measurement it’s to use the 3 measurement settings: it takes 3 measurements one after the other with a few seconds of pause and then displays the average of all of them together. It also helps you to check if everything is alright with your heart valves as the stethoscope can detect anomalies. You wouldn’t be able to get the best out of this product if you’re not really good with technology. The product syncs with your phone over wifi so you don’t need your phone with you when taking the measurement.
I have been using the Core now for 2 week. The first couple of reading where higher than expected but that was just getting used to getting the cuff on.
It does need to be round bare skin on the upper arm. I also found that to get a decent stethoscope reading your need to pull the white button on the side into the side of your chest when you are taking the ECG.
Only niggle if you allocate the reading to the user at the end of the process and if you miss this opportunity there is no way of correcting it in the app later unlike weights from the scales.
Managed to set it up with my iPhone and WiFi ok, same as Withings scales I have. BP taking was a bit hit and miss at first. You have to know how to put the cuff on just right, and as someone else said, the position you have to be in does seem counter intuitive to taking a ‘relaxed’ BP. However, it does work and the device seems well made.
The problem is with the ECG which is the main reason I bought it. I have AFib, and a lot of the time all I get is ‘inconclusive’. So it’s not much use for that really.
I will keep it because the BP monitoring is fine and it syncs to the Withings Health Mate app along with my scales, but it’s very overpriced for something that doesn’t do the ECG job too well. It’s a shame because I’m very happy with the scales.
Update: 15/12/2020
I’ve been using it for quite a while now and over time it seems to work better. I don’t know why, but occasionally it fails to take a reading, but 99% of the time it seems to work now so I have uprated to a 4.
Not cheap but is good quality and well made. Lot of trouble getting a good stethoscope reading. When it does read ok I get a 50% reading of signs of valvular desease and 50% normal but checked by Dr and my heart is fine.
Once the battery has been charged via USB it has lasted a long time without needing a second charge.
I obtained this for myself when I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, and for my father in law to use for ongoing checks of his heart after a bypass.
We both use Android. The Withings BPM as a “package” is quite large and requires some storage. It is however super easy to install, set up, and use. I find the readings are easy to follow and quite accurate, although they do encourage me to somewhat over-diaggnose myself and I’m sure this frustrates my doctors! That being said, on his worse days it has helped track FiL’s health and wellbeing and all in all it’s an incredibly useful piece of technology to be able to have at home, especially given the range of diagnoses it can assist with and have an ongoing monitor for.
If you are not confident with tech you may encounter issues with app installs or pairing, but on reading I found the instructions to be quite clear and easy to follow. Though not needed for this particular product, I have used Withings’ support in the past and found them to be responsive and helpful, and all in all with this you’ll be buying a quality accurate product from a reputable solid brand.
After trying to manually record my blood pressure i gave up and got this. It work really well and provides long term graphs if you blood pressure so you can see trends. The ECG and stethoscope are also really handy.
My fellow Vine reviewers have already covered this device very well so there’s little point in me repeating it here. Suffice to say it works well, is easy to use and has some very clever features which, if you need them, are well thought out and will help you to keep on top of your readings.
The only gripe I have is I already use an Omron M3 Comfort blood pressure monitor (the same as my doctor has on his desk in fact) which you can currently buy on here for less than 44. Whether you can justify the extra cash for the Withings to get a few extra features and the smartphone interaction only you can decide, but for me, it’s a lot of money, hence I’ve docked it one star.
Other than that, and having used some very impressive Withings scales to keep track of my weight for some time, I’m happy to recommend it to you.
All aspects worked first time. Whilst it provides more data than our Apple Watch 3 and Fitbit Charge , where the metrics coincide, they are very comparable. We bought it to help provide us more information about a sporadic issue one of is having with our health. We have only had the device one day – we are hopeful that this monitor will prove useful.
I have High Blood pressure, and so have had a Withing Blood Pressure Device before, as well as more basic “offline” ones. I have sometimes found the more modern ones not to be as accurate.
This model is a BIG ONE, quite a bit bigger than the standard Withings one. The setup was super simple, as soon as I had installed the Health Mate App, and clicked the button to turn the device on, it started to pair.
What is also nice about this model, is that you can test your blook pressure at any time, and you dont have to be sitting with yuor phone, or with app open. I am not entirely convinced by the Digital Stehescope yet, as the results appeared to be on the device instead of on the app, but overall pleased with this Monitor. Its expsive, but its a very decent quality and being able to keep a log of your Blood Pressure on your phone is great.
This is a very useful and rather special product for people unlucky enough to suffer with heart rhythm disturbances such as atrial fibrillation — or who are worried about such things. Following a successful ablation procedure to cure my own case of atrial flutter earlier this year, I suffered one severe and disabling bout of atrial fibrillation and as a result bought myself an Apple Watch 4, which, like this Withings device, checks for heart rhythm disturbances. I would not be without my Apple Watch now. The Withings device, however, is better than the watch since it also checks for two key other health parameters: blood pressure and heart valve health. In this, it appears unique and, as a result, provides reassurance like nothing else outside a visit to a doctor.
Why 4*? Like others, I found the blood pressure and the ECG measurements worked easily and well — 100% of the time; but the stethoscope function often failed and produced an “Error” message. I tried this on three different people, one with a known heart murmur and persistent fibrillation, but I could not get a consistent reading from the stethoscope. I shall persist as it seems that user technique is important and rather difficult but I wanted to write my review to give my honest experience as it stands now.
Would I buy this device? Yes, I would. It is a stunningly well-made product and my experience with Withings customer service team is that they will solve any problem or replace a faulty device. We also have their excellent Cardio bathroom scales and previously owned their air quality monitors. Despite teething problems with both of these, with firmware updates they all now work well. The scales are exceptional and we wouldn’t be without them. Both the BPM Core and the Cardio scales log their readings onto the excellent Health Mate app, which is attractive, modern, easy to use, user friendly and very helpful.
Overall, if you have or worry about heart health, then there are very few choices available to buy for home use. So far as I know, outside of unknown Chinese manufacturers, your choices are this Withings Core device, an Apple Watch 4/5 or a Kardia ECG machine. Only the Withings checks all three key heart health parameters: blood pressure, heart rhythm and valvular disease. It offers reassurance like nothing else does at present.
The Withings BPM Core Smart Blood Pressure Monitor with ECG & Digital Stethoscope is a piece of art. It looks very high-tec and it performs well. I have another blood pressure monitor at home which has arrhythmia detection. That particular one is a Omron which I know gives accurate readings, even though it is four times the size. So, it was a first test to ensure the readings are accurate.
It took awhile to pair with my phone, but after a few attempts I managed to get it working, it was more about connecting to the servers to update the software. Seems odd that the servers are a bit flaky.
Anyway, once that is complete, you can take a few readings. I took three readings and I am glad to say that the readings are accurate and tally with the Omron.
I didn’t use the stethoscope and I have no need for it, maybe good for some who are prone to VHD or have a family history of VHD.
The nice thing is that you can take these readings to the GP and this way they can see how your BP has been and also take you off medication or increase it. I tend to have white coat syndrome, so I know and inform the GP, but this is handy for anyone is unsure and want to take measurements regularly over a two week period to ensure their BP range is normal or abnormal.
Great piece of kit, if a little pricey. However, it feels high-tec and looks the part. It can be carried around and take to work and even if you leave it on the work desk no one will know it is a BP monitor.
A review for Withings BPM Core Smart Blood Pressure Monitor with ECG & Digital Stethoscope.
A high tech alternative to cheaper blood pressure monitors. A very smart looking unit which is very well designed. The advantage of this is the all is self contained in the cuff unit, cumbersome tubes to connect just a pure wireless experience. The unit is designed to connect to an accompanying smart phone app, readings from the monitor are then fed into the app for near real time reading. The unit sometimes a little while to correctly connect to the app before displaying readings. A plus is the unit comes with a rechargeable battery so no more hunting around for batteries when you need to use it. I have checked this with other equipment similar to the models found in GP surgeries and the readings are in line with those. Overall a good solution, more expensive than traditional BPM units but a whole lot more convenient, the app is well designed and provides clear useful information.
Easy to charge, use and the data is visible on cuff and transferred into the free and easy to use Withings Healthmate app for further analysis and saving. Having been asked by my doctor to monitor my blood pressure having just reviewed my medication I am delighted with the peace of mind and accuracy of this BPM Core. Highly recommend
