The watch itself is great and elegant but the Amazon warehouse piece that I got was terrible.
This looks fabulous and has the appearance of being much more expensive than it was. Works well.
Bought an Apple Watch SE last year and never got on with it – too many features and constantly charging it were enough to put me off.
The HR steel by Withings is incredible – it tracks all of your core health metrics, isn’t intrusive, looks like a conventional watch, and the 100% dial is addictive to complete.
And after nearly a month of wearing it, the battery still has 25% charge.
For 140 you cannot go wrong. For most people this watch will do right by you.
Really lovey watch and like the look better than my previous Garmin but the Garmin was better at tracking exercise (or maybe I’ve not got the hang of this one )
An excellent watch with good tracking. But if your sight is not 100% and you don’t wear glasses except for reading, then it is hard to see the hands when they are over the black area – which is the time I usually run. It would be better if there were an option to reverse the colours in the top circle. I have seen pictures of a Withings watch which looks like this one which has a white circle, so it must be possible.
if you turn on all the settings the batterie will last me about 25 days i have 2 samsung smart watches but now ware this watch most of the time gives me all info that i need for fitness looks great and light to ware.
Dislikes are keeps dropping off app. According to the sleep app sometimes I only get three hours. Otherwise lovely product battery life is amazing
Now had the tracker for over three months and very pleased with it, it’s battery life is exceptional, it seems a fairly accurate step tracker and has plenty of options on the app for activity types. Sleep tracking is fairly accurate, as good as any other I’ve used and the watch is robust and durable unlike a few others I’ve broken! Recharging is quick and easy it sits in a recharging dish so you don’t have to pull apart the strap for a usb connection like cheaper versions. Plus it looks good on amf is easy enough to read. Would have liked luminous dials but that’s probably the only minus. And via Amazon warehouse a good price too.
I bought this as I wanted a watch with hand rather than a digital display but also wanted to track activity and couldn’t rely on my phone as I don’t always carry it around with me. In terms of look it is very smart. I have swapped the strap for a stainless steel one. I’ve been wearing this for 13 days, the battery is currently on 20% so not sure it will last 25 days but it does say the watch and step count will carry on for another 20 days after hitting 0%. Some of the others I looked at only lasted 5 -7 days so it is doing better than that already. The app is user friendly with a nice dashboard that shows the general stuff at a glance. the step counter is not accurate. I noticed this straight away my phone shows more steps even though I haven’t had it with me all the time. I read up on the forums and this seems to be an issue many others have reported. Bit annoying. I’ve just set a lower daily target. I use the silent alarm to wake up now which is a much nice way to wake up. Can also set it up for phone/text/whatsapp/outlook notifications which is really handy. In general I’m happy with it bu disappointed the step counter is not accurate.
I bought this to replace my rapidly fading Chare 3 Fitbit which I had had for just on 3 years. That was my 3rd or 4th Fitbit and will be my last.
I decided on the Withings Steel because I wanted an analogue face that I can see while out and about – the Fitbit had a screen I could not see in full daylight and without my reading glasses.
The product arrived promptly – just as the Fitbit completely gave up the ghost. and I immediately set about downloading the app and charging it. The charger is far superior to the Fitbit charger – basically lie the watch down on the charger and it starts to charge – no fiddling around with small connectors to get the right fit. Within an hour it was fully charged and ready to use.
Setting up the app was simple, and it started recording the relevant stats immediately.
That was 2 weeks and 3 days ago and today is the first time that I have charged the device again and it was still at 22% when I put it on charge – again, only an hour to be fully charged.
The straps are a bit on the expensive side, but a quick look through Amazon has brought up some attractive and affordable straps which I will purchase in due course.
All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase – and it was a whole lot cheaper than a Fitbit with the same features. I purchased the all black model as it was 80 odd cheaper than the white or blue one, but as I wear a lot of black. that is not an issue.
Highly recommended.
I purchased this watch for my wife, because her current Fitbit was not bright enough to read in most conditions. I purchased a tan leather strap to go with the watch. The watch is a very attractive watch, with both the date and time easy to read, it’s comfortable. The step count is regular but doesn’t seem very accurate, it records a day of 50 minutes cardio at the gym, an hour long dog walk and two hours housework as about 7k steps and 1400 calories. The app is useful and records sleep etc, as accurately as any smartwatch. My wife is happy with the watch, because it’s great at its primary function as an accurate easily readable timepiece. Because the step count is balanced, my wife can see that she has completed 8k on an average busy day, instead of the 15k recorded by her Fitbit, so she can adjust her expectations.
I’ve been using Withings products since 2015. I originally bought the Activite Pop before Withings was acquired by Nokia and then reacquired by Withings again. I went for the Steel HR as it had dropped quite a bit in price since it first came out and was happy with the features in the Pop but was wanting some heart rate tracking for exercise.
TLDR;
DON’t get this for accurate exercise and heart rate tracking,
DO get this as a less annoying+stylish version of a pure smart watch and upgrade to your analogue watch
Build
The watch itself is very stylish in the black and silver I got (36mm). I have fairly small wrists for a man so don’t quite like giant watches and the thicker form factor of some full smart watches. The watch also takes the very common spring catch straps so loads of opportunities for styling it. I have also found the face to be very durable having dropped it a fair few times on indoor surfaces, mostly wood flooring.
Comfort
Very comfortable to wear and not too heavy. I found the silicon strap with the watch was a bit stiff and also irritated my skin. Loads of options to swap out though so keep this in mind in your price calculations
Features
There is the usual sleep and steps as well as combining GPS with the app on your phone. There are handy tools like stop watch and timer and vibration alarm too that the Pop did not have. All of these I think work accurately enough and am happy overall with these. The heart rate tracking however is pretty terrible. It has dedicated exercise modes that track your heart rate in real time and consistently the heart rate during exercise will be halved. It feels like this might be a straight up hard wear issue and perhaps a combination between my wrists and the type of sensors this watch uses but my veins are pretty popping during exercise so I’m a bit unsure if it’s me. I’ve seen some youtube reviews of this watch and realise that this is a common problem and in fact is also the same in that the heart rate is halved – cycling on a spin bike generating 400 watts and it things you are awake and resting at 70 to 80 bpm when in fact you’re at 150 to 160 bpm and collecting an ocean of sweat under you! At resting however it does appear to be quite accurate but considering I got this for exercise it does undermine the very reason I got it.
App
Healthmate is pretty streamlined I’d say and quite clear. I have however been using it for 7 years so I might also just be used to it. It does update frequently and permissions have to be re enabled so you can end up missing layers of information from workouts which can be annoying. The app can also be linked into Google Fit and Samsung Health which makes it quite cross compatible.
Battery
Lasts me about 10 days with tracking about 7 hours of physical activity which is excellent in my book. Beats having to charge something every other day.
After searching and reading reviews I settled on this watch. I wanted a smart watch that looked stylish and this ticked both box’s. I’ve had it about ten days now and have charged it once, but I do have all smart features working and I use it to log all activity. It does look really nice, was easy to set up and the app syncs every time. The digital display is small and I can’t read it without my glasses but that’s down to my eyesight, and I can read the stats on my iPad. So far I’m very pleased
Have had fitbit & cheap generic trackers in the past, but missed wearing a proper watch. Spent ages looking at this and other makes on various sites & read loads of reviews. I took a punt on this one and am so glad I did. It looks fab, and the battery life is amazing. I admit I don’t use it for sleep tracking and a lot of the other stats are wasted on me, but I find the app easy to use and has all the info I personally use on it. Sometimes it takes a while to sync the steps but it gets there in the end. Very happy custome
I wanted something that was a bit more watch-like, but still with step tracking and a few other smart features.
So far it has lived up to expectations – it does less than other smart watches, but that’s good – less distraction. I will still use my garmin for running. I’m currently 3 weeks in, with the battery still on 67% – so an excellent start on that front.
The only feature I wish it had was to be able to display something (of choice) when you raise your arm – in my case it would be the date – it’s easily accessible with a single click, but I think a lot of people look for the date to be displayed on their watch.
I really liked this Steel HR, but I have to admit I eventually went for the Scanwatch at 100 more for the crown rather than button and the sapphire glass. The strap on the HR is much more comfortable than the the Scanwatch (soft silicone rather than black fluoroelastomer). I’ve never had a watch till Withings and thought I’d dislike the feeling of a big thing on my skinny wrist, but I actually love the look. By the way, I tried EVERY tracker and hybrid smartwatch before falling in love with the look of these. So much nicer than the blocky, digital Apple Watch.the wrist notifications are fantastic for keeping you off your phone. Highly recommended, but go for the Scanwatch if you can afford it.
This was a replacement for a 5 year old withings steel which I was really pleased with. It is a basic fitness watch. Very simple to operate and a stylish appearance. From the advertisement i understood that it came with a leather strap but it actually came with plastic/gel type strap. Also the minute and hour hands are not very clear on my model. I’ve noticed on others they have a red tip at the end of the hands which makes it easier to read. Contacted Amazon who were great. They offered me a replacement or a hefty discount. I selected the discount. The ‘faded’ hands I’m getting used to and the strap I’ve replaced with a leather one. Overall I’m very pleased.
Really loved this watched until the glassed cracked on the face. Which I emailed to company withings about, they said I send to them, but never got back. So I’m still trying to get the glass fixed. I would recommend getting glass protector when buy as I only did everyday task and got massive crack. So I’m now waiting for the price to come down as I brought it 135 last time don’t want to pay 189 so I know you buy it cheaper. Especially when the glass isn’t that strong.
‘m not a huge fan of smartwatches. I’ve tried a few over the years. I had a Pebble when they were around, which was fun, but the screen resolution annoyed me.
I tried another smartwatch before buying this one, as I want something to will help me get my fitness levels up. The watch was rather nice but battery power ran to about 10 hours.
I decided to send that one back but had the bug by then. I wanted something that measured steps, heart rate and distance walked. This does all that brilliantly. I’ve had the watch over a week now and I haven’t charged it at all. The small backlit display at the top tells me I still have 62% left.
I love the clean, minimalist design which puts me in mind of some German timepieces. One thing, the dial at the bottom isn’t for seconds, but for steps walked. A great way to quickly find out steps walked without having to press buttons.
The only problem I had was deciding upon which model to buy. I’m a boring old fart so always choose black dialled watches, therefore decided to break the habit and choose white for a change. I love it. Classic and elegant.
But I’ve decided that I’m going to buy the next model up as well. With a black dial of course!
Highly recommended.
John.
The watch is overall very good and it keeps good track of heart rate, steps and all associated stats. 4 Stars due to the watch face being difficult to read in dim lighting conditions but that is just a minor niggle for me. The Withings app is fine on my android smart phone (Galaxy S20). Integrates with Google Fit and my diet app (myNetDiary) and you can pick and choose which stats you want it to follow and which ones you want other apps to record. Pretty neat. The sleep app is really good. Amazing to see how much quality sleep one actually gets….. plus heart rate increase after an alcoholic evening lol. I recommend the watch but maybe try a lighter watch faced one?
This watch seems really good, and I wouldn’t say the steps are inaccurate like some other reviews said. The battery has lasted for nearly 3 weeks now and is still going. The only issue I have is that I find it quite hard to read the time on this watch because it doesn’t show it how a normal analogue would. For example, on a normal analogue watch, at 4.30, the hour hand would be halfway to the 5. On this one, it still sits on the 4. The other day, it was 10.10am, but the hour hand wasn’t on the 10 yet. It’s a nit-picky thing maybe but I can’t just glance at the watch and immediately know what time it is, because the hour hand is often somewhere weird. Before this I was using an analogue watch for years so it’s not just that I can’t tell the time!
But that aside, i love the size of it – I have really tiny wrists and hands and hate anything bulky, but this doesn’t look huge. And I love that it looks like a normal watch but has all the extra features, and that I don’t have to charge it every few days. I like being able to see the percentage toward my daily steps goal without having to press a button – it’s a really clear and visual representation of how far I have to go and I find that pretty motivating.
I couldn’t be happier with this product! Firstly, I couldn’t believe how quickly the product arrived, especially considering the disruption caused by COVID 19. The product was dispatched safely and promptly. I chose this seller as there was a quicker delivery time and I wanted to start keeping better track of my fitness during isolation, so I was thrilled when it arrived earlier than the expected delivery time.
The watch itself is brilliant! I’ve been considering a smart watch for a few months, but always been put off by how sporty and bulky most smart watches are. This watch looks amazing, it’s small and classy looking. The strap is actually rubber which I hadn’t realised in the pictures, but it looks very smart and is extremely comfy to wear all day. The small black screen is discrete but very easy to read. It’s easy to toggle through the time/date, heart rate, steps, distance travelled and calories burned, as well as set an activity time. There is a wide range of activities to select from on the watch and more on the health app. The app has been great for tracking my fitness and logging activities, it’s really helped motivate me to do more which was my hope purchasing the product. I didn’t want anything too complex and the app again is easy to use and sync to other apps (such as Strava). It’s possible to sync it to your phone, I have it set up to notify me of phone calls but nothing else as I didn’t want anything too intrusive. Steps match my boyfriend’s count (using a Garmin sports watch) and everything seems accurate.
Couldn’t recommend highly enough! I love this watch. Anyone considering whether now is the best time to get a watch during isolation, it has really helped me to get motivated and stay active. One way to add some control back into my life!
It has taken a lot of trial and error to find a smart watch I was happy with. I have tried Fitbit, Samsung and Fossil but just didnt like how they looked and kept going back to my analogue watch. The Withings watch has the best of both worlds for me. The main appeal was the notifications, but I also like the simplistic fitness tracking. I don’t wear a watch to bed, but the fact that as yet there isn’t a way of setting it to do not disturb isn’t ideal. Apparently you have to switch notifications off and on again in the morning. I think the rose gold and grey go very well together. I love my new watch
This is a very attractive hybrid watch/activity monitor that I bought to replace my Fitbit Ionic. This review is based on years of using various Fitbit devices and a number of other smartwatches. This was purchased as a Prime Day deal for just over 100, well below the normal Amazon price.
Size: the Steel HR is a very slender and compact watch well suited to a small to medium adult wrist. The fit is very comfortable but I will probably swapo the silicone strap for a more formal alternative.
Activity monitor: the step counter seems about as accurate as the Fitbit and is certainly good enough to differentiate active from inactive days. It recognises different activities well and monitors sleep well enough to pick a good from a bad night’s sleep. The heart rate monitor jumps around a bit and I’m not convinced it’s particularly accurate, but I found a similar experience with Fitbit and other smartwatches. The analogue progress dial on the face is a useful touch.
On screen display: the digital display is small and monochrome, but very clear in most conditions. It is near impossible to read in bright daylight. The data displayed is easy to customise but for some reason the data and time are on the same display and the date screen swaps out too quickly; I hope that this is improved through software as it would be helpful to have the date as a single viewable item.
Smartwatch: Connectivity to android phone is reliable and steady, way better than the Fitbit which really struggled to connect to my Note 9 or Motorola Play 2. Notifications work well with all the apps I’ve tried and it’s easy to choose which you want to get to your wrist. Notifications must be set up via the connected phone but can be disabled and enabled as a whole on the watch.
Battery life: this was my primary reason for switching to a hybrid from a pure smartwatch. My Fitibit Ionic struggled to last two days without a charge. It’s still early days with the Steel HR but so far it’s lasted a week and has 28% left from a full charge. On the basis of initial use, I wouldn’t risk a two week holiday without a charger, but a week seems very safe even allowing for about an hour a day of recorded exercise, two daily alarms and notifications on. I’ll update the battery life impressions over time.
Other issues: there are three alarms that can be one off, or repeated daily or weekly to pretty much any pattern. It would be nice to be able to set more alarms, but not a big issue. The alarms need to be set via phone but can be disabled and enabled on the watch. It would be nice to have watch hand tips that glowed at night and a stopwatch or countdown timer function but I can live without them.
All in all an excellent device that looks good, works well and comfortably survives with a weekly charge.
Overall, it has to be said I am very pleased.
The watch is smart and stylish, the app is fairly easy to use (and it will also link to the other major sport apps too if you want to use them for sport tracking instead), the steps are about as accurate as can be expected (which isn’t hugely accurate lol) but there is one major gripe….
The stylish look is created by the domed glass on the watch – but this domed glass seems to be too soft and I have found that in normal use, even after just a couple of weeks it is likely to scuff. I have a suspicion that the scuffing is actually happening at night, as of course the watch is meant to be worn for sleep tracking, but when I awake another small set of scuff marks seems to have appeared. Because of the high domed effect, there is nothing to protect the glass.
I have spoken to Withings about this, and their customer service was dismissive at best. So, take care of it folks. Although it is practical, useful, looks good and does what it says on the tin, it is likely to look somewhat less than brilliant in no time at all.
I can only assume they are trying to shift their more expensive sapphire range, which has a tougher glass.
having used various Fitbits and Android watches I thought I would give this a go, I’d previously used the fitness app before with the Withings scales and was impressed. It’s a decent size and weight, is well built and is pretty comfortable when working out, sleeping or just throughout out the day, the silicone straps are supple, slim and soft. The fitness, heart rate and sleep tracking seem pretty accurate, and the digital screen although small is still quite legible. Bar far the best feature is the battery life it’s stellar, simply the best I have come across, 25 days! it can reach that quite easily and it only takes about 15 minutes to charge to full. Only downsides are the bezel looks great but is prone to scratches and the vibrating alarm only buzzes 8 times before stopping, which you can easily miss when in a deep sleep, a snooze function would have been nice instead of their smart alarm feature. I would also add the push button feels a little mushy, there’s not a satisfying click, but I am nit-picking here. If you like notifications on your watch, look elsewhere, it does them but it’s not great, due to the limited amount of characters displayed on the screen. Overall though I’m happy with my purchase
I bought the 40mm version (Which IMO is smaller than my normal dress watch) but it looks great and it’s easy to forget it’s a smartwatch.
I found the app well designed and connected easily to the watch and shows my daily activities/sleep/heart rate in a natural way. The export to Google Fit also seems seamless (but I’ve only been using the device for 2 days) so I’ve a range of apps to view the data on.
The watch doesn’t have that many menus, only supports simple notifications (not even sure which) but that’s exactly what you want from a fitness tracker watch. It won’t be replacing my phone anytime soon while with a few clicks I can start fitness tracking mode, view my HR, steps while the analogue hands look great the rest of the time to view the time making it a perfect replacement for my daily watch.
Ideally, I’d get a buzz/notification when I get a Facebook/WhatsApp message but maybe that feature will be added in the future and I’d like to see a better strap included with the watch than the rubber one.
If you want a nice looking watch then this is for you but if it’s a fitness tracker you require give it a very wide birth. The interface is clunky and vague. If for example you cycle it’s as likely to show on you stats as pilates, ok so you can change it to cycle but you could be forgive for feeling a watch of this price should be able to tell the difference. And I can assure you that this sort of adjustment is often needed. Also since the last update it has wiped one function off my watch, so far I have had 10 e/mail exchanges to withings to explain the problem and the people I contact are still unable to grasp the problem. Today it won’t contact my ipad by blue tooth, I eventually found a message on their sight saying “since the upgrade people using android should switch off blue tooth as it wasn’t functioning” mine is using ios and I can’t get a blue tooth signalbut as yet I have had no response from withings.
can I add to this comment that after writing it I worked out that for me there instruction missed out an extra step that over came my problems. These problems occurred in the reset to factory settings mode, now my watch is back to it’ original form , which whilst not great is what I purchased.
I bought this watch after having a Fitbit for 8 months. The bulkiness of the Fitbit eventually annoyed me so much that I started looking for a more slimline alternative and having read a few reviews, and loving the sleek design, I decided to buy the Nokia HR.
I’m so glad I did.
It’s much more intuitive than the Fitbit. The HR doesn’t think you’ve done thousands of steps when you’re driving. As it was getting tiresome recording every car journey with the Fitbit (I live in a rural location so driving is essential). I no longer have to record my driving movements with the HR.
I am a violinist/ fiddler and unfortunately it does confuse playing violin with lots of steps, so I normally transfer to my stationary arm when playing music. It’s not a big deal.
It records sleep fairly well too although it stopped tracking sleep for a week and I contacted customer service and they pointed me in the direction of resetting it and all is fine since. I always thought the Fitbit under-recorded my sleep and the Nokia HR possibly over-records my sleep but not so much that it annoys me.
The app, as many others will testify, could really do with a more user friendly interface upgrade as it’s quite clunky but I do like the wellness programmes (sleep, fat loss etc). And the app links with my Nokia weighing scales too so that’s quite handy.
I have been using my Nokia HR watch for the last 4 months and I have received many many compliments and people can’t believe it is also a fitness tracker and heart rate monitor.
I bought a screen protector for it, it is a must and gives peace of mind. It wasn’t that difficult to attach despite some reviews to the contrary.
The Nokia HR is just a beautiful piece of arm-architecture!
Long may it last!
I’m not a big fan of fitbits and their like. For me a watch must look like a watch, first and foremost. Things like step counters and heartbeat monitors are _extras_ for me.
I’ve had my Steel for about 2 months now and I’ve charged it twice. The battery life really is good, connectivity and syncing with my phone is very solid and reliable, the app is nicely laid out. I know people who have fitbits and they all seem to enjoy competing with their friends on the step counts. To be honest I don’t even know if such community aspects exist for the Steel range and I actually don’t care! I’ve got a very smart looking watch that has some extras that I have grown to value very much.
When I bought the watch I did research the one with the bigger bezel. Apparently that’s the only thing it offers you – a bigger bezel. I don’t get it. An extra tenner for an extra bit of metal that does nothing… why? This watch looks great as is. I’m not a small chap (!) so take it from me – save the tenner and buy the one with the regular smaller bezel.
I’ve got the 40mm version for 3 months now and I could say that it serves its purpose of being a normal looking watch and a smartwatch at the same time. I can’t compare the sleep tracking accuracy as this is my only smartwatch but I can say that it wrongly assumes that i’m sleeping when i’m just sitting in my couch and watching Netflix. But overall, sleep tracking is great. I love the silent alarm as my phone alarm tends to also wakes my wife up in the morning. But the ability to make several alarms would be a good addition in the next firmware update. Steps tracking is also fine but it also tends to make step counts when you are just moving your hands/wrist or just by shaking it while you’re seated or stationary. Workout mode is also good and records you heart rate continuously but you have to keep the watch tight and snug on your wrist. I mainly use workout mode in bodyweight exercise (freeletics) and cycling. So sometimes it skips reading heart rate when your doing activities that involves a lot of hand/wrist movement like jumping jacks. What i would like to have in the next update is the ability to set custom vibrate alarms/notification while you are working out when your heart rate exceeds or goes below a certain limit that you can set. So that you can monitor your heart rate without looking at your watch. You can slow down or speed up when you feel the vibrate notification for your heart rate. Phone notifications is fine but addition of third party apps notification like Facebook and Whatsapp would be great. Aesthetically, the watch have been complimented several times and they even didn’t know that it is a smartwatch. They like it even better when I tell them that it is a smart watch. I got the scratched glass issue now. The glass face was scratch just last week when it hit the edge of a glass door on our apartment building. It also got hairline scratches on the metal ring. Wearing it 24/7 for the first few weeks gave my wrist a dry red skin patch. I have the silicone band that came with it. Since then I don’t take it to the shower with me anymore and I switch wrist at night. Wearing it on my left during the day and sleeping with it on my right. That seems to resolve my dry skin patch. battery is fantastic. I only had 2 charges since it arrived last 3 months. Healthmate App can be improved to show more. I would like to see and compare my everyday heart rate without going in and out of each day report. Overall it is a great smartwatch for those people who don’t wanna look ‘sporty’ by wearing a digital smartwatch at work or for those not-so-active people who just wanna have basic smartwatch features like steps-tracking and heart-rate tracking.
I initially wrote a 1* review for the watch. I couldn’t get it to work – perhaps it was my fault, i’m not sure. Either way, it’s working fine now. So, how does it work? Well I got the Nokia Health app, and it found the watch via bluetooth (location must be on too). Nokia promise they don’t record your location, but it’s necessary to get the watch to work properly. The watch is 30m water resistant, although I don’t swim, the watch is capable of swimming and going underwater. I use the watch in the shower and it’s perfectly fine – just don’t push the button when you’re in the shower or that could get water inside!
I use the watch for the following: vibration alarm to wake me up for work in the morning, tracking my steps, heartrate and vibrating for SMS text messages and calendar appointments. Battery life is very long, i’d say 1 month. I bought the watch on 15th feb, i’m writing this review on 27th March and its only going for it’s second charge this evening.
Very good value for money. It gets 4* from me not 5* because you can’t set multiple alarms unfortunately, only 1 alarm. If you could set multiple alarms, this would be the best smartwatch ever. Recommended nonetheless.
I have been using a dedicated running watch for a couple of years now. As a result I was eager to move to a smart watch in order to record my activity throughout the day. However, my attempt was a failure. This was due to 2 major issues with android smart watches. Issue number 1 poor battery life and issue number 2, the geeky looks. When I came upon the Nokia Steel HR it seemed to offer the best of both worlds (classic and smart watch). I have been using it for almost 3 weeks now and I can confirm that the product delivers upon its promise. The battery life is excellent (3weeks and still going strong) and the looks are great as is the build quality. I have found the sleep tracker extremely accurate. I have read comments mentioning that the sleep tracker incorrectly recognises start time of sleep, but this did not occur during the 3 weeks I have been using it. The heart rate monitor seems to be accurate (I have compared it to my running watch) however, it seems that for some reason at times no HR data are recorded (probably due to not having the strap very snug on my wrist). The only minor complain I have is with the companion android app. All the data are nicely presented but I did not get any useful insights e.g how much sleep on average my age group is getting or how much deep sleep on average one would need.
