I only wish I had bought this years ago. So easy to use, particularly on new growth.
I have cut back both my laurel and pyracantha hedges in no time at all. I already had the battery powered pressure washer, so no need to purchase the batteries and charger. A great tool.

This little hedge trimmer is awesome.nice and light so it can be handled for a while..I bought extra batteries because some jobs are bigger than others.but all in all a great bit of kit.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA great surprise that the battery lasts so long, I was not expecting this performance. I used it to remove about four foot of this years growth on my magnolia, reached from ground level, and trim a short length of hedge on one charge of the 2Ah battery. Very pleased.

I have several tools in the power share range so it was a no brained to get the hedge clippers to suit. Very pleased with the purchase and its good that you can buy the item bare,( no battery). I will continue to add to the tools as they all seem very good quality. I have 5 tools in the range, spread over several years and all still performing well.

When my previous cordless hedge trimmer packed up (a Flymo) I chose this as I’ve been impressed with my other Worx gizmos – the cordless jet washer and the portable vacuum. Both have been excellent. I was expecting the same standard of cutting performance as my old Flymo, which I thought was the norm for a cordless trimmer ie works kind of ok, but weak compared to a corded. The Worx has proven that you don’t have to accept 2nd best just because it’s battery operated. This cuts where the Flymo would stutter to a halt and it feels much lighter too. The ease of swapping batteries between my other Worx machines makes this an even better buy. It proves that going for an established name isn’t always the best option.

Just received excellent delivery as usual from Amazon driver. Only tried for five minutes as it’s 38 degrees outside but first impression it’s perfect for cleaning up hedge in between main cut, it probably would do a full cut but would take longer than a cable more powerful hedge cutter. Small hedge, box hedge, and straggly bits no problem.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI chose a Worx hedge trimmer because I already have a grass trimmer and the batteries can be shared; this item also comes with the fast battery charger which I didn’t get with my grass trimmer and it makes a huge difference to charging times. If you have a choice of charger, always choose the fast charger option if you can as a battery can be charged in just an hour vs 5 hours with the mini option.

The hedge trimmer is phenomenally good; the blade length ensures I can cut stuff that is otherwise out of reach without having to resort to using a ladder, which I avoid for safety reasons. I also found it cuts through fairly thick, even woody stems, with ease. Something that you prune with secateurs or shears in an hour can be trimmed much more efficiently and neatly in just 5 minutes using this.

I found it lightweight and powerful, much better than I remember my old hedge trimmer was and I don’t regret choosing this instead of a petrol model. The batteries last a good time in use and it helps that you can swap the same battery between different Worx tools, plus the fast charger makes a big difference to turnaround times if you do need to recharge as you go along.

It’s a great all round little hedge trimmer..it would be great for people who have problems with heavy hedge cutters. Would recommend..

I should have bought a cordless hedge trimmer years ago, instead of suffering the noise, inconvenience and poor quality cut of my cheap corded trimmer. This easily lets me do at least two cuts of my hedges, especially having two batteries. So impressed, I’ve also bought the Worx lawnmower and strimmer too.

Things lightweight and good for light trimming of seasonal growth but for nothing heavy. The battery and charger does NOT come with this item which makes it quite expensive for what it is. It does what’s need it for and it’s cordless of course.

I have seen a video on youtube that suggests this is not much better than trimming the leaves off a privet hedge. Not true. OK, it won’t hack through wood but it cuts through 5mm ‘twigs’ no trouble. Most important is its light and the battery goes on forever. On one 1 hr charge I got to 45 minutes run time.

Used for the first time today,21/05/2022. Was better than I expected it to be, I didn’t think it would cut through 5-8mm thick twigs. More than enough power, easy to use. Just plug in the battery and start work. No pull start two stroke motor, no extension lead to cut through or drag around. Piece of cake to use and lightweight easy to handle with good reach. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersArrived 2 DAYS EARLY in a scruffy box which made me think I was getting a customer return, however everything inside looked ok.
I found the assembly really difficult, particurly fitting the Front Powerhandle onto its housing, I did NOT EXPECT to have to use considerable force to get it on, in fact I had to look up a You Tube video to confirm that what I was doing would not snap it. The pictogram instructions are useless and confusing.

HAVING SAID ALL THAT I got the machine assembled and out to the garden today. Very impressive even with my previously bought 1.3 Ah battery. Lightweight fast and a pleasure to use

I have pretty much the whole worx range, well working on getting the entire tools.

The hedge trimmer ran all day cutting hedges back, to thick stuff. Ita doesn’t feel or sound powerful but does a great job and at the price I paid 40 it was a steal.

    I recommend. 5 stars.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersThis is a lovely lightweight little trimmer. Will take larger A/h battery too, but not needed. I did a really long hedge with provided 1.5Ah.
Do not confuse it with a hedge cutter if that is what you want though; you will be most disappointed!
It is just capable of trimming those new shoots that have sprung up since you gave the hedge a good cut a few weeks ago, – nothing more.
It will cut a little bit thicker piece of say privet – provided that you single out the bits that you want to cut one at a time.
If you are used to using a proper hedge cutter, then this can get annoying even when trimming new shoots because if you go low enough to catch the top of the hedge at all, the thing snags. It doesn’t stop necessarily, just ‘catches’ and stops your travel across the hedge. Annoying.
Having said that, it does cut the new growth; (I used on hawthorne and privet). And its ideally suited for shaping soft bushes (again thin or soft growths). Keep trimming often and it will do the job. Do hedges with a big cutter say twice a year and trim in between times. I shall do that, – it is a decent lightweight trimmer, I’m not decrying it.
If that is what you want in an appliance, this is easy to hold and use.
In fact as per the title above; it does what the Worx 801E shrub/grass shear/pruner ought to do (but cannot) – at very little more cost. (Get a cheap Worx strimmer for the grass part, – those are ace).

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersExcellent lightweight trimmer – purchased via Amazon Warehouse so good price, I have a number of Worxs tools so happy with the quality of the brand, and have a number of larger batteries and a fast charger.

This trimmer handles the fresh growth on our various shrubs and bushes easily, far easier and tidier than hand shears! Easy to use and the safety features work well. I am using with larger 4ah batteries which I already owned so no idea on the life of the supplied batteries (1.5ah) but I trimmed all I needed to and then used same battery on Worxs strimmer and still plenty of life left in it. Ideal for our needs – no long hedges to do or anything like that, just approx six shrubs & bushes, so did not want anything too big, and easy to get out to tidy a patch up without the bother of extension leads etc.

Like other reviewers I found that the online warranty system would not accept the model number, however I contacted Worx via their Facebook page and they gave me customerservice @ worxtools . com to contact and they have confirmed the same day the warranty extension in the form of the email you normally get when you register online, so mine is covered until August 2022 for one purchased August 2019. No explanation as to what the problem is but happy that warranty is extended and they were very quick to respond both on Facebook & via email. NOTE does not show up on the registered tool list on the online, which is a shame. (Don’t try the sales@ email address as I just got an auto respond email indicating that not been received – or that is what Google translate from the Chinese words said!)
