As everyone has already said, the unit doesn’t sit flush against the dash. It seems they didn’t curve the top and sides of the plastic cover to cover the gaps. From what I’ve seen, every other manufacturer has the same issue with their product. It’s not a big deal to me, but it would be nice if they offer a replacement cover in the future with the correct design.
Apple CarPlay works great and always connects automatically after booting. I appreciate the option to change driver sides, however this doesn’t apply to the door ajar graphics, as my Punto is RHD and the open door graphic is reversed. Would be nice to see an update for this as it is an option for CarPlay.
Also a bit disappointing that we have to buy their own OBD reader as the unit only works with their own. Torque is preinstalled and works with pretty much every adapter out there, at least on Android phones.
Overall the unit works really well. I can’t fault the stability of the software as everything seems to work reliably. I always prefer a head unit with the latest version of Android possible, like this one.
pros: works well, smooth animation between screens (most of the time) wireless carplay is best feature
cons: does not fit flush, it has an SD slot top left of the screen however it does not take a map card according to seller (so why have the slot in the first place), although i don’t have a reverse camera, every time i go into reverse the stereo is looking for a camera & i am unable to turn this feature off. also when it goes to the nonexistent camera during a phonecall, the call cannot be heard afterwards meaning i have to switch to speaker & back to bluetooth.
It was so quick and easy to install, I’ve had the radio for 4 months now and I have never had any issues with it, the car play works great and the sound quality is also really good. I’ve had no problems with the FM channels and FM works just as well as it did in the factory fitted radio. I am so happy I decided to buy this product since it also can mirror link google maps or Apple maps which has made driving to places I don’t really know so easy. However, I did have issues with getting the radio to sit flush but it’s hardly noticeable and I think it was just me being a perfectionist as it does not bother me anymore and sits absolutely fine as you can see. Great product and would definitely recommend, especially for the price. 🙂
Radio funktioniert super, selbst blue&me funktioniert. Bin begeistert und wrde es jederzeit wieder kaufen.
