My dog always shakes when she is put in the car so thought I would try this collar. I put it on her about two hours before we were due to go out and she went into the car quite calmly and happily. It is great!!

This collar really works for my dog. She hated the car and although she’s still not keen she will at least get in calmly. I tried going without the collar for a while thinking she was ok now but I could see the change in her after a few weeks.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Userscalming. Follow instructions and use around a month before events like fireworks night. Give it a chance- it won’t happen overnight, but so worth it when it does work!

Our dog is a lot calmer now. Just give it a few days to work.

Bought this item for my male neutered dog who is very nervous and worse whilst we were on holiday. It seemed to help the nervousness which is what it’s for.

However, we stopped after 2 as we noticed other males were becoming over interested in our dog so we removed and 2-3 weeks later this has stopped.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIn our opinion the best product for our dog on the market. We had tried the plug ins, herbal supplements and sprays and nothing appeared to ease her anxiety. We then decided to try the collar as a last resort before medication off the vet and I am so glad we did. It has reduced the anxiety within an hour of her having it on. She is not whinning and panting when we leave the room. She is sleeping through loud noises and bangs. Since having it on she hasn’t run in her safe dark place. Which is amazing! She finally appears content when we leave the room/house. Our dog developed generalised anxiety from around the age of 2 that no vet or behaviourist can pin point. It comes and goes in waves, so this collar has been a life saver. The periods of anxiety usually last around 2 weeks, dissapears for about 3 months and then rears its ugly head again. So this collar this time around has been a real life saver! She is back to her happy, playful self. Thank you!

Jury is still out for us on this product. We bought it alongside the plug in product. Our puppy is definately a little calmer when left. We purchased these to help with separation anxiety issues our puppy has. We can’t work out whether it is the products or just him getting used to being in his own. Will be continuing to use for a couple of months to see how we get on as if his slight
Improvement is because of this collar then it will be worth it even for that. Hoping we will gradually see more improvement over time. Definately hasn’t been a total change overnight for us.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersHave started using these again as my dog has developed a behaviour Problem again related to a dog and territory. These seem to add a level of calm that helps with the extra training we do and the positive reinforcement. These are often reviewed badly because people think (like a pill) this will fix everything. It won’t. These give of mother hormones that are manufactured to help calm the dog with a sense of security. They are part of a parcel of things you will need to do. They are a bit expensive perhaps but then I don’t manufacture pharmaceuticals so perhaps they are decent value.

They are a rubber collar that you put on. They need to be close to the fur so they warm up. My dog being very flurry can wear this looser than short hair dogs.

When we first used these two years ago after two hours he started sniffing like made trying to figure out what this new ‘thing was’ he could not figure it out but settled down after.

I use the collar over the plugs in because I like to have windows open and this would reduce the effectiveness of a plug in. The collar is also on for walks.

I have a rescue Belgium Sheppard and she can get stressed when things change in her routine I need to her to be created while carers help me and she was getting stressed so I bought this as my vet recommend it to me along with the defuser and it’s works fantastic she is calm in her crate and calmer in herself it’s excellent to see it help her to adjust a new people come in and out of the house she is not stressed at all where as before she would pace and whine even though she only has to stay in for an hour the defuser is next to the crate and the combination works well I’m moving house soon and we’ll be using these collars and defusers for a when I move to help her settle into the new routine very happy with the results. My friend also used on their 18 year old jack Russell and he calmed down as he was getting stressed on his own and it worked really quickly and we’ll .

I’ve had a few of these collars for my dog who has a noise phobia. I’ve tried desensitisation CDs, tablets, herbal remedies, plug ins but the Adaptil collars are the only thing that seem to help. It’s just part of who he is now and we manage it. However, he swims in the river regularly and I forgot to take it off and only noticed a few days later that his fur around his neck was discoloured and he had some excoriated patches the poor boy. I felt really bad but it healed quickly with some antiseptic cream. So word of warning for future users…take off if you intend to let your dog swim!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased for the dreaded firework season for my nearly 11 year old dog, who is getting worse each year. Read lots of reviews beforehand, some good, some said did not work but thought I would give it a try, as I didn’t like the idea of sedation.

I bought a large size, and just fastened up any loose bits. Collar was put on a week before Bonfire night, as we have the inconsiderate people who think it is clever to set off fireworks anytime!!
I did notice that my dog was a bit calmer generally, and was fine, until Bonfire night itself and up until that weekend. He did get frightened and needed reassurance but I do think that he calmed down quicker than previous years.
I think I would buy again for next year, although I to be honest, I think I was expecting a miracle cure from it!

Worth a try I would say, if you want something different other than using drugs.

Golden Review Award: 95 From Our UsersI was in two minds about this after reading mixed reviews but decided to take a punt on it as cheaper than other options. I’m so glad I did, the change in my dog is nothing short of miraculous! My 15 month old collie x retriever is scared of everything and had developed an extremely aggressive fear reaction to strange dogs out on walks. As she’s a high energy breed she needs plenty of off lead exercise and those trips out were becoming increasingly stressful as I never knew what would happen if a strange dog approached. I was terrified she would hurt one eventually and I found myself isolating her more and more, which in turn made the fear worse. After reading that this problem is not recommended for aggression I didn’t hold out much hope but am happy to report it works like a dream on her. From the day it arrived she has been a different dog, not only is she generally more relaxed there has not been any reactions and she is now playing happily with other dogs I am also using other recommended methods alongside the collar but am convinced this has been the main cure because nothing was working previously. I will be ordering one every month now and if your reading this and can relate to the problem, my advice is ignore the bad reviews and product usage description and give it a try! Its important to note that my dog was perfectly behaved and non aggressive in any other situation though it was just purely the fear of strange dogs approaching her. Good luck!

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersI bought this more in desperation, as my dog hates fireworks and lays by me shivering and quaking as soon as she hears one go off. Last night i knew would be bad 3rd November Saturday as a lot of people would be having their parties.

She had been wearing it for a few days to get used to it. I went upstairs early about 6pm to get her settled down and to put the T.V. on try and block noise. The fireworks started at 6.30p.m. Lucy my jack russell snuggled up between the bed pillow and the headboard and kind of covered herself with her blanket and its now 04/11/2018 uk 04.40 in the morning and she is still snoring.

I woke up several times and at 11pm the fireworks could still be heard albeit in a distance. lUCY was still asleep.

DID the collar work? Well judge for yourself. I am a pensioner and it was a lot of money for me to pay out but really worth every penny, not to have one quivering mass shaking all night by my side.

For me the verdict is A WIN. The results for me are a resounding YES it worked, i am so pleased. I dont dread November 5th quite so much we still have one more display for the 10th to get through but hopefully if i leave her collar on it should still be working by then.

I really was sceptical about this collar but desperate and would try anything.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI bought this collar on recommendation from my vet who had known one to work in similar circumstances to ours. I was sceptical but I had even got to the point of feeling that Mabel was better off dead then so scared and miserable all of the time! (obviously I would not have acted on this) Mabel is a 7 1/2 year old Bordeaux cross rottweiler who has always had a bit of an anxiety issue since birth. Coming up to seven years old everything seemed to get worse. She would not be shut in certain rooms and had to have escape routes, she ripped up all of the carpets one day and scratched the doors when we went out for a few hours and forgot to shut her in her ‘safe’ room. Damage to the house is par for the course, I have 4 dogs and a cat so it is inevitable but I was very bothered by the fact that Mabel was miserable and scared of everything. She seemed to spend all of here time hiding under mine or my other halfs desk (we both work from home) shaking and trying to make herself tiny. Pretty much straight away after putting on the collar she seemed calmer and less stressed. I wasn’t sure if it was a fluke so she has been wearing a collar now for two months and I have just ordered a third and I can pretty much say that unless it was a huge coincidence this DAP collar has made a massive difference to Mabel and to us and I am very grateful. Mabel is a big girl and she measures 70cm around the neck which is good because that’s as big as the collars go.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy dog, at the age of eight, suddenly started getting quite stressed every day, both barking and letting himself out of the windows of my ground floor flat. I used this collar in combination of a pharmacist-prepared rescue remedy, increasing the length of morning walks, a treat ball and puzzles, as well as hiding treats and learning new tricks. For the first few weeks, his dogsitter came to rescue him daily and took him for walks. Now, we’re back to thrice weekly. Throughout the past 1.5 months, I’ve gradually reduced the number of times a week he gets rescue remedy and am hiding fewer treats and/or not using the puzzle daily. He’s on collar 3, and he has calmed down significantly.
I used a combination of solutions, but the collar(s) have been the lasting remedy. My labrador is much calmer. I think it takes a while for it to take effect, and it’s meant to be changed monthly.

I was doubtful whether this would work but my extremely nervous dog has been really helped by this collar when we were moving house, she had begun to show her fear by making random unprovoked attacks on other dogs whilst on walks, you can imagine how terrible this made taking her for a walk; making me anxious to take her to a public park but I had no choice, I consulted my vet and he suggested I try Adaptil but he wasn’t sure if it would help but said it was worth a try. Within a few days of using the collar (which is easy to put on, although I didn’t trust the fastener and taped the end in case it came undone) her behaviour was much more relaxed and less aggressive and continues to be so, although I wouldn’t trust her off the lead completely with other dogs around, her behaviour is such that I probably could, I just can’t be 100% so I’d rather not take the risk. I hoped that we wouldn’t need more than one but after a month it became obvious as it started to wear off and she became more aggressive again, so we have bought another and she seems much more relaxed again so I suppose we shall just have to continue with them. It is not a cure all and weirdly it seems to make dogs become attracted to her and try and mount her, strange as it released the same hormone a pregnant dog exudes, but it has significantly helped her to cope with a new home and surroundings.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our Userseally really helpful i had already tried the adaptil diffuser but had no luck as my deerhound Karn is always out and about with me so it only really had an effect on him when he was in a specific area of the house.i heard about these adaptil collars so i went onto amazon to have a look picked up one for an incredible price. i will admit i won’t be paying the pets at home price 37 this has started to work already when it was put around his neck. i can now can go out with out him constantly having to be my side at work. he now will rest in his dog crate rather than digging holes in the walls and doors in attempt to escape to come and find me.This has been extremely helpful for his anxiety levels Karn only really gets on with my other dog Duke who is a doberman. i will have to look at getting Duke a collar as he seems rather interested in the smell of the collar (pheromones) and sticks by karns side a lot of the time. This will have to be a long term use for my deerhound as there are other issues that are anxiety related including people and loud noises. He is already a lot calmer around the house even when our neighbour starts his sports car up it dosnt seem to bother karn as much as it did before.I am really happy with this collar its such a good idea and really works i would highly recommend for those doggies that are social anxiety related or sensitive to loud noises.

I tried this as a last resort having tried all sorts of other calmers, training and habituation techniques for separation anxiety, stress and barking. He is an 8 year old lab and was finding life more and more stressful. We have another 2 year old dog, but if I leave them even to go to the loo and my husband is there, the older dog was getting distressed. He got to the stage of barking at any slight noise or movement and would also go for another dog if it told him off. The dogs come to work with me and he was starting to scare some of the other people in the office with his barking.

The collar arrived this morning and I put it on him. He sniffed the air and promptly fell asleep. Various people have come and gone, walking in and out of my office all day. he raised his eyebrows at them as they came past and then shut his eyes again. He gives the impression of finally being able to relax and the difference in him is astounding – lots of people have commented on how chilled he is. I am amazed and keep checking him when someone walks past as I can’t believe how relaxed he is.

I ordered the diffuser as well and that should arrive in the next day or so. I am hoping that the collar and the diffuser together will allow my husband and I to leave the house together so that we can go next door for a drink on Saturday. We have resorted to going out separately and haven’t left the dogs alone for about two years! I will update this review after Saturday – fingers crossed!!!!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI brought this collar, after my 7 month old lurcher developed extreme separation anxiety after spending the day at the vets having his’ crown jewells’ off. He got so anxious when he was left at home alone, even though it was only for 1 hr a day. I would return home, only to be bowled over at the door by a dog that was panting like mad, had wee’d and poo’d all over the kitchen floor, chewed all around the door where I had gone out, and was dribbling everywhere. We tried all sorts of things, TV left on, radio on, item of my clothing just so he had familiar smell. I even crated him, but it just seemed to make things worse. Tried the kong, a bone to keep him busy, but nothing worked. After 4 weeks of this I was at the end of my tether, so thought I would give it a go. Not much happened for the first 5 days, then OMG, day 6, a completely different dog. I can now go out and come back to a dog who is curled up on his bed and just gets up, wagging his tail and potters about. It has made a big difference to his traveling too, he is so much more chilled. I got the diffuser too , and 1 month down the line I am just going to replace the collar and see how things go.
Would definatly recommend this product. Thank you.
